Trade websites suggestion: when searching for specific socket colors, show white ones that fit the requirement too

    Posted: 25 Jan 2019 11:40 PM PST

If i'm searching for a chest that has 3b/3r sockets, it won't show me a 2w/2b/2r chest or any number of combinations with 1-2-3w sockets. I know I have a white socket box but I don't care how many white sockets it has, I just want it to respect my requirements of 3b/3r, regardless of which or how many are white.

The disabling of the "Migrate All" button has rendered my private league characters unplayable.

    Posted: 26 Jan 2019 01:03 PM PST

I started in a private league with about 30 other people at the start of Betrayal, and we extended the deadline for quite a while until most everyone got burned out. Our league ended a few hours ago, but because GGG has disabled the Migrate All option, all of my characters, gear, and atlas are trapped in limbo. Everything is still registered as under the private league, but they cannot be played. If we could fix the Migrate All feature soon, that would be appreciated. At the very least reactivate it and give a warning that the bestiary could fail to transfer so there's still the option.

Betrayal league is amazing, but the mastermind fight is a clusterfuck

Betrayal is a 9.9/10 for me. I loved basically every aspect of it except the one little boss fight.

Getting ahead of a future problem: A few ideas surrounding Syndicate's core implementation.

    Posted: 26 Jan 2019 07:21 AM PST

I think that, for a lot of people, Delve, Alva, and the overarching master rework in 3.5 was the "real league". Syndicate is a nice addition, but between the issues it had at launch and the fact that running it efficiently forces you back into the campaign has left a sour taste in more than a few mouths.

Delve is wonderful as a core concept, but it was pretty bad at the launch of 3.5. Scarcity of Niko in random encounters, scarabs sometimes giving nearly 1/3 of the value of other scarabs at complete random, the azurite and sulphite adjustments that were needed made for a rough start to the league.

Alva, while clearly a technical limitation surrounding load times, still will not give the same room in the same instance. This either means that you accept the fact that you'll have a single T3 room every other temple on average, or you play the hyper involved strategies of getting more T3 rooms at the sake of running a quarter of the temples you otherwise would have.

These two masters, and the initial implementation, were problems before fixes came through. So I want to take a moment to anticipate the problems that Syndicate will have, should GGG decide to simply copy and paste Jun into the game like they did with the other masters.

    How it will probably happen:

    • Jun gets an Atlas symbol for a guarenteed Syndicate enounter (or a few) that works just as all other master dailies work.

    • They probably slightly adjust the amount intel you get from interrogations, but they won't adjust enough.

The problems that come of this:

    • Getting enough intel for a safehouse will take a very, very long time.

    • Running a Jun mission and not getting a single (insert branch you want here) encounter will feel bad.

    • Considering the issues we have with Alva, is it possible that, supposing Jun would spawn ~3 encounters in her mission, you won't have a chance of getting the same member in two separate encounters? Not sure if the technical limitations reach this far in this way.

    • It simply, plainly, will not feel good if implemented how other masters were. This is subjective, but my theory anyway.

My idea: I have an idea that solves the above and seeks to predict other issues before they arise. The ultimate disclaimer for my idea, though, is that it will be a pain in the ass to balance rewards around. I have no idea how to do that, to be perfectly honest.

Capitalize on the Atlas' "board gameness" that GGG has been moving toward and fully realize the gaminess of Syndicate content (with turn timers and all). Don't give Jun a symbol, give a unique symbol for each order of the cult that indicates a guaranteed encounter with them on the map that they appear on. Castle spire for fortification. Train wagon/caboose for transportation. Flask for research. Camp fire for Intervention. Each order starts on a T1 map at random (occupying the four T1 maps) after defeating Kitava. Completing an encounter removes its corresponding symbol from the atlas and creates a one "turn" delay before appearing again. Upon completing another turn (running any other syndicate encounter), the order that was getting delayed reappears one tier higher than where it was last turn. This continues, moving more and more centered on the atlas. Completing a T16 encounter guarantees that every single member of the order will show up to the fight. Defeating them puts the order on a three turn delay (three to prevent bricking Syndicate content from ever appearing again in certain edge cases), only to respawn after said cooldown on a random white map.

Example: Research is on Atoll. Fortification is on Channel. I run an atoll map.

    • I am guaranteed to get a research encounter. Defeating it removes it from my Atlas for one turn.

    • I run a fortification, mostly because I want research to reappear. Defeating it removes fortification from my atlas for one turn.

    • Turn 2 is complete, so Research respawns on a random tier 2 map.

    • I run research, it gets removed and CD'd, fortification reappears. Intervention and transportation are still sitting idly on tier 1 maps.

    • This process continues, moving more and more centered on the atlas.

    • Research makes it to T16, all members of the order show up to fight (including the captain!). Defeating it removes them from the board for three turns while they lick their wounds and tally the dead.

    • Three turns pass, research reappers on a random white map.

    Pros to this implementation:

    • It's more fun to play maps than it is to play act 8.

    • Juggling encounters around, much like you juggle elder/shaper influence, would be an engaging core feature of Atlas strategy.

    • There's lots of room for strategy in when to do which branch, ensuring the T16 encounter is as lucrative as possible.

    • Love it or hate it, this only further entices players to fully complete their atlas, as opposed to shaping around a single white map. GGG seems to be employing more and more strategies that fit this bill.

    • Would enable another end-game strategy that isn't just "run maps".

    • Would enable target farmers to consistently hit their order to choice, offering very lucrative rewards.

    Cons:

    • Reward balance. Forcing specific encounters to spawn might enable EVEN MORE pure breaches and sulphite scarabs than Harbour Bridge or Foothill spamming does. Like I said before, I have no idea how to fix this.

    • Atlas clutter. This is my biggest concern. We already have: shaper strongholds, Alva missions, Zana missions, Niko missions, Einhar missions, elder influence and shaper influence. This idea, while I must admit I really, really like, would add FOUR new icons to the atlas. Feature-creep, anyone? New player experience?

    • Would a syndicate mission prevent another master from having a mission on that spot? This could be a problem. If all four orders are on T16, your other masters won't be able to spawn their dailies there. Mildly concerning.

I'd love to see some discussion surrounding this concept, and/or your own ideas for implementing Syndicate into core Path of Exile. We all know that it's going to happen, but what GGG does to ensure its success is paramount to creating a fun, engaging user experience.

Can we talk about how good this expansion is ?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2019 05:24 AM PST

Hi guys this subreddit now has been filled with item posts lately that I want to start a discussion about meta and end game activities.

This expansion has so many small little changes that make the game so much better.

First of all, the new graphics for certain areas have made leveling feel like a new experience sometimes. It is also fun to find new crafting recipes while leveling. The only bad thing I felt was syndicate being incredibly overtuned at the start, even as a veteran with leveling gear you can get rekt so easily, I wonder how you new players feel about that during leveling ?

Second, the addition and rework of Incursion, Beastiary, Delve and Zana missions have brought such a diversity to the game. You can rotate between delving, temple, maps, elder, Atziri, Breach, use scarabs, hours pass by without even noticing. It feels really good and now with the new dailys on the atlas, shaper strongholds, and elder farming, I do not feel forced into running the same shaped map over and over and spam sextants on it, instead jumping around the atlas and getting nice little bonusses here and there feel good as well.

Thirdly, betrayal as a league is quite fun imo. You have to put in some work to understand how it works, how to move your members around, and whereto to get the most profits, but when you get it that fled as a leader in research ... mmm juicy :D Also that small breachstone change made breach go back to being really exciting. The mechanic hasn't changed, but now since all the splinters are pretty much worth something, it is very fun to do, and a very profitable zana mod, for only 4 chaos.

The new crafting system is very interesting, there are many new mods that makes new builds or new op items possible. Though I don't understand why they added so many new recipes that require exalts to craft. It is not really helpful when exalts get more expensive with every league, and imo it adds to this effect.

And lastly, this meta is really fresh, isn't it ? There are sooo many unqiues, skills, playstyles that you can build around at this point that it's almost too hard to choose from. The recent balance changes have removed most of the unfair stuff, and right now, we are looking at the most diverse meta in all of poe history, in my opinion at least. A small change to the CoC gem, and we suddenly have plenty of fun CoC builds. Impale helped the pure phys ones, new banner and brand skills are fun, minions traps totems melee bow winterorb arc moltenstrike, I cant even mention all of the strong builds these days.

I think GGG has done an awesome job this time, we never saw this much endgame variety, both in builds as well as in endgame content. Possibilities left and right. So fun ! And in a month from now, we already get something new...

Kammell's Betrayal HC Duo Race to 85 - January 26th at 8 pm CET

    Posted: 25 Jan 2019 08:20 PM PST

    Hey all,

    https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2296737

Another race but this time with a friend. I was going to make it an SC race but due to feedback from the community, I've decided to make it in HC Betrayal. Only one player in the duo has to hit 85.

The league will be modless and is group-found so you can only trade/play with your duo partner. Breaking the trading/grouping rule will result in disqualification. This is to stop boosting later in the race to help someone with a win. To combat this (and help with casting) we require at least one participant on each team to be streaming.

    https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20190126T11&p0=850&font=cursive

Prizes will be split 50/50 among team members. The race is over when two teams hit 85.

I'll be putting $100 toward the prize pool again.

    Prize percentage breakdowns:

    1st Team: 65%

    2nd Team: 35%

Can help with prize pool here if you'd like:

    Super Smash Bros. Item Filter

    Posted: 26 Jan 2019 10:08 AM PST

I made a Super Smash Bros Item Filter, all sounds were taken from Super Smash Bros. 64 or Super Smash Bros. Melee.

The filter was made for fast farming so a lot of the small currency is not in there and also no low tier rares,

if this doesnt show you what you want to see you can also just throw the sounds in your own filter/create your own loot filter with those sounds.

    Video

    Download

    Map drops: Fox

    Unique Drops: Mario

    Divination Cards: Yoshi

Currency and the rest: Ingame sounds like the baseball bat sound or the mushroom sound ect.

If you want to use the item filter, just download it and extract it in your filter folder .
