POB chaos golem minion damage calcs problems

    Posted: 12 Apr 2022 04:50 AM PDT

Trying a new build for Occultist Chaos Golems (pulled off poe ninja), and I'm having trouble calculating my DPS accurately. According to the wiki, the cascade skill hits 2 times "most" of the time. From what I can see in the calcs tab, POB doesn't factor that in.

The stopgap I've been doing is to add a more chaos golem damage modifier in custom modifiers, but I can't get it to only increase it for that minion skill only. Is there a way to do that or have I missed something super obvious?

    POB link for reference

edit: Updated POB, just copy paste the socket groups

    Atrizi Reflection build?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2022 07:14 AM PDT

Happened to come across an Atrizi Reflection, pretty exiciting for Xbox as they don't have many on the server. I looked up Poeninja and it seems only Power Siphon (no thanks) and a cyclone with Replica Warpaths which have 2 on our server and are 40x at the monent.

The question is any other good builds for this thing? Fun and tanky?

League starter builds that have the smoothest time with Heist?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2022 08:54 AM PDT

    Hi all,
Unless the patch notes completely blindside us, I intend to begin 3.18 farming Heist. The main goal is to determine my main second build by what build enabling items I can pick up in grand Heists. So, I was looking to see if I could get some advice as to which builds, or at least what kinds of builds would lend themselves to that.

    Criteria:
Poisonless. My PC really doesn't handle large stacks of poison all that well, so that kind of build is out. Other forms of large stacking also struggle so probably to be avoided.
Tanky. Heist is pseudo-hardcore. The build has to be able to scale defences relatively easily, and be able to survive area level 83 Heist content without regularly dying.
Mobile. Not looking to break land speed records, but faster than 30% movement speed and Flame Dash.
Phasing. Getting stuck in packs of mobs is the quickest way to die in Heist outside of running face first through Manor doors and into laser grids.

    Thoughts:
Armour/Evasion: I assume that armour is going to be a more important defence than evasion, given that the build will be dealing with lots of mobs.
Clear/Single Target: While being able to kill unique mobs is important, clearing rooms and packs swiftly is going to be more valuable probably?
Persistent/Immediate Damage: Quite a bit of Heist asks you do interact with things while enemies are around, even if it's just hitting 'V' while in the middle of a mob pack. Might be worth being on a skill that does damage even while you aren't actively using it, like Toxic Rain or Blade Vortex?

Any particular builds that fit the bill? Any considerations that I'm missing or have thought about wrong?

Update on Fire Conversion Ice Trapper

    Posted: 12 Apr 2022 04:13 AM PDT

About a week ago I asked about ideas and suggestions for a Replica CIP build that I could try in SSF and with the help of someone providing a rough PoB I set out to give it a go. As I'm sitting at home rn with no power I realized that I've made it far enough to show up on PoE Ninja now so I figured I'd write up a quick update on my progress and where I'm trying to go.

    PoE Ninja https://poe.ninja/challengessf/builds/char/deviant324/ShockinglyTraps?i=0&search=item%3DReplica-Cold-Iron-Point

Updated PoB, noticed missing qualities and changed Rumi's for Cinderswallow https://pastebin.com/Fr0dRfx0

I was asking for options to potentially craft a +2 dagger and actually ended up getting one from Rog the same day, even though it's kind of mediocre and could take a reroll suffixes I can do with the crit and some omni on it. Eternity Shroud wasn't the plan initially but I dropped it right before I transitioned and happened to 6 link it too, found enough bases to make it useful so I rolled with it for now. I have a 6 linked tinker skin which I double corrupted (with bad implicits) and I haven't gotten lucky with benchcrafting colors on there, but I plan to run it for improved survivability because as of right now my ascendancy's regen is barely enough to sustain the cost of traps if I'm just throwing them out constantly, so my survivability isn't super great.

Along with getting Tinkerskin I'm trying to get Slavedrivers which isn't working out too great, even with atlas passives I'm really struggling to get trap workshop to 3. Don't have the vessel either but I have over a dozen chronicles with boss rooms lying around for when the time comes, hoping to get lucky. Once I do have Slavedrivers I'll definitely need Tinkerskin, I plan to reroll my trap cluster (only one I have somehow) to get Arcane Surge, I have a couple jewels with cast speed lying around and I also have a +1 dagger that currently gets me about 2-3% less DPS, with a 28% cast speed roll that will bump up my trap throwing speed a ton, plus I will be able to swap lifetap to fire pen on my main link.

Also working on better spell suppression gear to save a bunch of passive points and basically cut out the bottom most part of the tree (putting those life points into the life as extra ES wheel) and then getting the charge nodes back. At that point the build should also be tanky enough to roll on until 94-95ish to maybe include some small clusters too.

Bossing experience so far is quite nice with how fast stuff dies, this might be my highest DPS build yet, just with the downside that my deadeye and champion Helix builds were both tankier because their sustain wasn't working against their own skill costs. My regen would be stupidly high if I didn't have to pay like 100+ life per cast.

    Upgrades/Sidesgrades mostly for trade

An extra replica CIP could easily replace the +2 dagger, which itself can be beat by a better +1 and potentially even a really good one without + gem levels, at least by tooltip damage (I suck at using PoB). Replica CIP is 5C in so while it seems to be stupidly rare to find it's actually affordable in trade. A more min-maxed option might be 2 strong +2 daggers which would allow you to still do cold damage and drop the conversion entirely, however conversion is for the most part still relatively easy to access and allows you to fully utilize Explosive Expert (since you ignite and skitterbots cover shock/chill). The upside would be freeing up another support gem though.

Omni is probably not necessary and you'd be able to get the dex to suppression keystone is you play it without. Not something you'd badly need but it's an option if you're using more unique gear (Maven helmet with enlighten for extra auras for example, even less suppression on gear).

Getting a shield over the second dagger puts me from 65k tooltip DPS to 48k which is quite the considerable drop, though a shield could make you a lot tankier. Also allows for much easier access to Spell Suppression which can roll up to 30% on shields, so you could potentially get the damage lost here back from your tree.

An expensive but potentially interesting option could be a Skin of the Lords with Avatar or Fire. That way you'd get to drop the Pyre ring since it's pretty much your only option to get to 100% (well 98%) conversion given how far away the keystone is on the tree itself.

Quick Check-Up on my Rage Vortex Berserker

    Posted: 11 Apr 2022 10:48 PM PDT

Hey, I've been running Mehmet's rage vortex berserker and its one of my better builds yet (youtube.com/watch?v=kveux9xkSsA link here). I'm pretty satisfied where my DPS will be in 2 levels once i fill out my cluster jewel, and im seeking to beat Uber Elder and Maven for my last 2 voidstones. That being said, when it comes to bossfights i want to make sure I'm up to snuff before i pursue my goal (making a flicker build and nabbing my first HH) by farming with this guy.

Overall, I want to ask if there's any glaring holes besides the level 4 quicksilver flask, replacement suggestions are welcome since berserk MS is fine enough for me. Most notably in sustaining during bossfights, what should i be looking for? How expensive are my next upgrades, which are probably in the rings and amulet ? Just a general review will help. Since my goal is expensive, i'm aiming to not spend too much in my quest for the flicker by league end.

    Thanks in advance!

Is this Cold CoC Raider still viable for Standard League?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2022 09:27 AM PDT

Hi all! I've lurked for a while and am creeping up on 1000 hours in the game. I still have a lot to learn, but with my current career, I can't put the time into playing new builds each league. With that said, I'm hoping for some criticism and feedback on how best to go about salvaging my favorite build to date to play casually in Standard. It ran beautifully in 3.14, but playing it now feels off and not fluid.

This is my current POB for my character -> https://pastebin.com/GZBZkQe5

This is the template I was trying to emulate back when I started it -> https://pastebin.com/jADsmz66

*I know there's a lot of distaste for FastAF builds, but I really enjoyed this one*

Any insight, recommendations, or feedback as to how I can take my build further and make it flow again for Standard would be appreciated. There's still a lot of endgame bosses and things I've never been able to get to, let alone beat. TIA

*I'm also open to selling off gear from other characters, as I only have about 17ex and 1058c of raw currency*

    Riposte to trigger Fanaticism?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2022 08:41 AM PDT

I've thought of a defensive Inquisitor build with Glacial Cascade as the main spell and Riposte to trigger Fanaticism. Would this work or is it too inconsistent? Probably gonna have around 70% block chance (both spell and attack).

Looking for PoBs/Guides for a chaos animate weapon leaguestart simulation

    Posted: 12 Apr 2022 08:19 AM PDT

So I want to try a leaguestart simulation for a chaos animate weapon build, since I don't think the build itself will be touched besides a nerf to Ashes.

While I can find quite a few endgame setups / pobs, I am struggling to find any info on about the early to mid game. Wouldn't mind some leveling advice till maps (I'd actually try to play as animate weapon asap) and then a guideline for a mapping setup till you can get the chaos variant going (considering you need a bunch of gear for the chaos setup).

Also happy to hear about your experiences if you leaguestarted with animate weapon.

Found a basic ele AW pob buried in this AW Chaos Guidde

    Glacial Cascade Ignite

    Posted: 12 Apr 2022 12:27 AM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/1w71cALh

I try to make at least one ignite build each league, and this has been one of my favourites so far. This started out based on a post about a month ago from someone trying to get the best out of replica CIP by using cold to fire conversion and I tried to do the same for ignite and glacial cascade caught my eye.

The build ended up moving away from CIP as I was able to pick up the staff in the POB for 100 chaos, and it is an amazing staff for the build. Temple cold mod, with +3 cold spells, 53% burning damage, and an empty suffix for crafted fire dot multi.

As for the rest of the build, I bought the amulet for under 50 chaos I think (already corrupted to had to buy the extra oil for the annoint) and bought the remaining bases and crafted the gear. About 3 weeks ago the ignite prolif and fire exposure bases were quite cheap 20-30 chaos, risen in price recently. I'm currently farming eater of worlds for a big fire exposure base to then add prolif onto as the gloves as the weakest, but hard part to replace with the T1 dex and spell suppression.

Playing the build is really fun. GC has a good range and with prolif you can off screen. Mana has been a constant issue but the exposure on gloves combined with mastermind of discord has helped, it means that no exposure maps are slower.

The build is nicely balanced between dps and survivability but not amazing at either. 1.8m ignite dps without convergence with 4k hp, 23k evasion and 100% spell suppress isn't going to be good enough I think for Maven and the trickier invitations (at least not with my skill level but) but I haven't had issues with the new bosses, shaper, elder conquerors and sirius.

There are still a few things to improve (gloves as mentioned earlier) and a couple of items with crafted life but overall really happy with the build. If I get time today or tomorrow i'll try and edit or comment some map / boss videos.

I'm loving the new endgame; I've fought my first maven (failed at the final memory phase) and killed my first uber elder (both earlier in the league on EA champion before I got this build to the point it at now). I've also fought more bosses and invitations than in any league previously and I'm really enjoying that, just being able practice through repeated attempts because it's easy to get the maps and fragments.

Edit: the -1% fire res in the custom modifiers is for the glove mod. As far as I can tell when you check 'is the enemy exposed to fire' it only does -10%

Any builds that work well on controller?

    Posted: 11 Apr 2022 08:09 AM PDT

I'm getting older. I work in IT full time and also run a youtube channel (not related to POE), so I'm on the computer 8-14 hours per day, pretty much every day. Despite my best efforts and using wrist braces at night and during the day, I still get issues with carpal tunnel, to the point where I can't use keyboard/mouse anymore, and games like POE with tons of clicking/key pressing are absolutely out of the question when I have a bad flare up.

I've noticed that playing Elden Ring doesn't give me these issues, because I'm using a controller. Since POE just added controller support, I might go for a build that can make good use of a controller next league. Any suggestions?

Anyone here ever tried double CoC Ngamahu's flame with Battlemage?

    Posted: 11 Apr 2022 10:45 PM PDT

As the title suggests. I wanted to try something wonky and heavilly off-meta. On paper Ngamahu feels like a neat idea - fire conversion, penetration, inquisitor would grant battlemage and if I would decide to go for omni buid, inquisitor provides 50int and 50strength. I was thinking about doing either Purifying flame or BF/BB with BF possibly using woke CwC. I have seen double coc ngamahu mentioned once or twice on reddit but people were all into self cast volcanus back then and the thread quickly has gone off-topic.

Anyone tried it and can recommend/point a reason if its a dumb idea?

Build that feels good to play and is tanky at same time?

    Posted: 11 Apr 2022 06:28 AM PDT

    Hello guys,

every league I spend most of time trying different builds. The problem is that it never feel comfy for me. It have always one of these problems:

    a) clunky gameplay

    b) squishy as hell

    c) goot specialist (mapper/bosser), trash for rest

Could you please tell me your favorite that feels good to play and is also good for levelling past lvl 95?

The biggest priority for me is that build feels good even after hours of grinding. Thanks!

Ignite DPS for a pure mapper?

    Posted: 11 Apr 2022 08:54 PM PDT

Been playing around with an ignite skill in PoB and just wondering what level of DPS feels good for running consistent red maps with proliferation?

The only thing I would do with this character would be pure mapping, so is something like 500k enough? Or do I really need to push it to 1m? Been playing around with a meme skill/build idea.

Could I have some feedback on my Bleed Bow build attempt?

    Posted: 11 Apr 2022 12:11 PM PDT

    Hello guys,

I finished a few days ago with the league at 38/40 so I was planning on my build for the next one. I had a bleed bow gladiator in 3.13, which was pretty fun, and I had a MTX for the split arrow, so I wanted to try again now that I am more experienced. This will be my fourth actual league.

    Main Idea

So the main idea is that i wanted to try a deadeye instead of a gladiator. I figured I could go assailum with the tailwind + gale force, plus some attack speed, so maybe it will not feel too slow when bossing.

While initially theorycrafting without defences in mind and with my old 3.13 harvest gear (which in retrospect seemed pretty good) I would hit 42M DPS, but with no defences at all. Trying to account for reasonable defences I get around 15M DPS, which I guess could be better, but seems decent to me. Not sure about the defences though because I have never played a similar character before. I tried to keep the theorycrafted gear kinda reasonable to what I could get. Aiming for level 95.

So primarily I am unsure on the defences part, if it is enough/too much, how it could be improved if needed. Any other feedback is of course very welcome.

    Pastebin for POB: https://pastebin.com/DQZr5HVH

    Gear

    Assailum for snipe as core.
    Ungil's for crits.
    Ryslatha as belt for damage.
Haemophilia seems nice for pops, perhaps not really needed, but why not.
Chest with apply additional curse, some suppress.
    Boots with some suppress.
    Ring with vulnerability on hit.

    Damage

As a deadeye, i went for Criticals + perfect agony. So with my current POB I hit a 100% crit change with ~360% crit multiplier, using Ungil's. Could be better if i specced more for it. So the damage part of the tree is mostly DoT stuff and crit stuff, which are close enough together. Also had some cluster nodes which seem good, but does not seem to be a huge buff compared to the regular tree though.

I also took advantage of the deadeye's Focal Point, so I tried for a Mark-On-Hit, and culling on marked enemies which seemed cheap to add. The alternative I had thought for culling was Lioneye's fall on the top right basic jewel slot and to get the dagger stuff along with Culling on Critical hit, which I think would work, but POB shows that the damage added is a bit lower than adding other nodes without Lioneye's Fall, so I dropped the idea. Still good if I had more nodes to spend to, but I could not afford it while also speccing defences.

    Gems

Main: Puncture + vicious projectiles + deadly ailments + brutality.
Cruelty does not seem too good.
    Clear: 6Link split arrow
Boots: Ensnaring arrow + balista + maim, to proc all debuffs plus rupturing. (At least I hope it works, otherwise split arrow spam should work without overwriting the rupture dot I guess).
Gloves: Mark on Hit + Assasin's Mark
Ring: vulnerability on hit (2nd curse)
Auras: malevolence + pride + war banner. Unsure if the playstyle is well suited for 'nearby' debuffing the enemies, but I guess I would have to adjust to it otherwise the damage seems too low. I think precision is not needed, but maybe could save nodes and I could min-max more damage? Will check it out later. Sovereignty for annoint, as it gives some reasonable DPS and can also fit more curses.

    Defences

So I get around 160% increased life which leads to ~5250HP, 69% evade change (nice), 14k armor which is 50% physical reduction, 100% spell suppression. Using deadeye, taking advantace of Wind ward seems nice, I assume 3-5 stacks. Also using Wind Dancer.

+Life I think may be kinda low, but not sure how to get more without gutting damage. Was also maybe thinking for Ghost Dance, but I understand is more for recovery rather than survivability, so probably not my priority?

POB shows 21.5k max hit taken, 56k effective hit pool. Also planning to use Molten Shell on move, I haven't used it before but seems like a good idea. Could use more armor though...

Not sure if speccing Iron Reflexes is worth it, I guess evasion + armor seems better than more armor only, but I am not experience enough to judge it on my own.

    Auras

Determination. Seems a bit better than Grace, so that I can get a bigger maximum hit?
Also could have used Defiance banner instead of war banner, but the defence difference does not seem to high. But I am not sure.

    Flasks

+1500 evasion, +1500 armor, +20% evasion with auto-use when full, and an overflowing chalice for a little bit of damage and more uptime on flasks. Not sure if overflowing is needed, perhaps could use basalt instead for +20% armor.

    Need a minion build

    Posted: 11 Apr 2022 06:47 PM PDT

I took a few leagues off and when I came back this league, I played a Toxic Rain Raider to start the league and it just wasn't my style of build.

Lately I've been playing CaptainLances Ball Lightning Guardian and it's been super tanky and while I'm loving it, I just can't shake the feeling of wanting to play a minion build.

I've done golems in past leagues and absolutely loved them. I've looked at a few different builds this league but can't seem to find one that looks good and that would fit my style. Any recommendations?

How to scale fire damage on infernal legion necro?

    Dedicated boss rush/heist build

    Posted: 11 Apr 2022 01:33 PM PDT

I'm looking for some builds that are optimized for extremely fast movement for boss rushing along with enough non-setup single target damage to efficiently kill the boss. I'd also prefer a build that can do heist safely as I'd assume a boss rushing build optimized for speed would be a good heister as well, although you want some defenses for that as well. I know lightning warp is a popular build for boss rushing but I'm wondering if there are other similar alternatives/builds that accomplish similar levels of speed through movespeed and still have good damage. I know toxic rain is the go to heist skill but it's honestly such a flaccid skill now and its damage is really lackluster especially for stuff like map bosses where you don't want to spend multiple seconds ramping up damage with pods and wither.

My SSF Build keeps dying in tier 2 maps ect.. Can I please get some constructive feed back?

So this is a mix of 2 builds I found on poe.ninja, but I've started from complete scratch (SSF ofc)

I know my res are too high, and I could totally just farm for better gear for more DOT Chaos damage, but will that really help me survive early maps? I mean I did not expect to die so much this early. I also have 73% evasion. The main point of this build was to learn as much as I could! I knew I wanted to do a CA build, but hell, is CA even that good? Thanks for the help!

I have 1ex and I’m looking for a non melee build to play

    Posted: 11 Apr 2022 04:56 PM PDT

Lol @ the title. This is a serious post. I have 1ex in raw currency and I might be able to sell some other stuff.

I'm currently playing Cyclone Shockwave Slayer at 87 and I'm finding that this game really doesn't do melee any favors. In fact, it seems that melee is severely disadvantaged in end game. At least from my experience. This is my second league and I have limited experience in all areas so I could be wrong.

I know it's fairly late in the league, but I'd like a ranged build. I'm open to all suggestions and will do some research. Thank you.
