We need a developer manifesto about low lvl content in league mechanics. Posted: 07 Feb 2019 09:08 AM PST Betrayal had all the workings of a great league. instead if landed on its face when the most efficient way to farm it was to run bridge making the most efficient way to farm the most boring game play we have ever seen in the history of PoE. You would think they learned this already from delve and people running hours of blood aqueducts or the other zone just for materials which was changed mid league. but no and this time around the most efficient way to engage the league mechanics was EVEN MORE BRAINDEAD BORING than ever before. It is a HUGE problem that the league mechanics engagement is directly opposed to the number one core pilar of an ARPG which is growing and making your character stronger so you can tackle harder content to get more better items so you become even more stronger rince and repeat. i already considered magic find to be design failure and diablo 3 while being horribly bad in almost all other ways got it correct and removed magic find completely. now add to it the fact that right now in betrayal the best way to get items, get currency AND get experience is to farm mind numbingly low lvl content. having a speedyboy farm bridge for it that fled stones and then running those stones in rotas it literally FASTER way to get EXP for your character than chaining T16 maps. you get MORE exp even when you count in the time it takes to farm those stones. jesus christ. right now there is literally no reason to run t16 maps at all. not for currency, not for items and not for exp. this is absolutely brutal design failure in the league. it is also reflected in the price of the maps, another factor being how much delve and incursion etc spill them out ofc. going forward something needs to be done to make sure that engaging with the league mechanics in the highest lvl content you are able to farm IS ALSO THE MOST LUCRATIVE from the point of view of whatever the league mechanics are. betrayal did the exact opposite and was the most braindead boring league ever. the real league was delve and incursion and to me uber farming because maps were so cheap :/ [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Feb 2019 01:00 PM PST Am I the only one that wants to change the way cyclone feels. The way D3 did it is amazing, you whirlwind towards your cursor, but stop spinning and moving once you let go of the ability. This makes it "easier" to use. I would love if poe's cyclone played like this. Idk though, just wondering. [link] [comments]

Path of Exile has changed my life Posted: 07 Feb 2019 09:00 AM PST I started playing a little over two years ago when I lost my job. The same job I relocated for to another country and had put severe strain on my social life. When I got back to work, I stopped playing for a while. Unfortunately, a few months in the new job, I lost my long-term girlfriend and I started playing again. My life picked up and I stopped playing. Then a few rough patches started in my new job, and I started playing again. Things are ok now (knock on wood), but I haven't stopped playing since Incursion. It is a game that has been there for me during some dark moments in my life, but at the same time it has had a huge impact on my life. I have never spent so much time just reading up on builds, or even spending money on MTX. How strange this might sound; this game has profoundly changed my life. I just wanted to thank the developers and the community that support this game. The only thing that sometimes gets me slightly worried is how much time I spend on PoE. I am in my thirties and haven't played so much since my teens. Playing PoE is my main driver next to work and some time spent with friends. I am exhilarated and concerned at the same time. Posted: 07 Feb 2019 04:59 AM PST Considering it would go core as the 10-20% chance to spawn and a daily mission cause it was showcased when the atlas objective daily rework happen. I remember after delve some of ppl rly believe that it would stay as it is only RaizQT was right repeting "no way it would stay that way" and sadly he was right. Also as one of the examples we can talk about currenc state of alva where you can't rly do what you want rng around rng you can't force spawn the room you like ect. Getting back to betrayal for me its 6/10 moslt because the low lvl content is more rewarding than high lvl maps and mastermind itself. Mastermind shouldn't reset your progress. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Feb 2019 10:14 AM PST Playing games is incredibly fun, until you can't change an unfavorable outcome that by design should be changable. I recently looked at the thread regarding statistics for Betrayal league. I'm pushing the 40/40 goal (275 atlas..ugh) and figured it had something interesting to say. As I scroll down, I see a plug for the Chinese version of the Malachai fight... HOLY CRAP. I CAN SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING! I never realized how terrible the color palette is. I just assumed no one could see what was going on and you had to just experience fights and look for absurdly subtle clues in movement and color. My request is simple: Can we make new content visible to both colorblind and non-colorblind players, or can a "colorblind" option be added to the UI/Display options? It would be amazing to be able to determine what's actually happening in fights. [link] [comments]

How to add some detail to Slum Buildings Posted: 07 Feb 2019 09:15 AM PST The Interrogation Chair from Zana makes a perfect door for one of the variants of the Slum Building: Example Vaal Curtains from Alva make for a decent curtain door for the other variants: Example Speaking of curtains, they also make, well, nice curtains for almost all variants of the Slum Building: Example Example The Overgrown Arch from Einhar can add some vines to your building, just play with the rotation and positioning to hide the arch: Example Example [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Feb 2019 01:18 PM PST Okay few months ago I made the exact same post. I hope this time it's early enough so it could be adressed for 3.6 And if it's not adressed I would like to know why; because it's a real shame for the creator and making it supportable with gems could be build enabling, which is the essence of PoE [link] [comments]
