Purifying Flames Chieftain - Faceroll everything

    Guide - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2472037

    PoB - https://pastebin.com/JkDJYpBP

Figured I'd share my build here; I had a blast playing purifying flames. The visual beam and consecrated explosion are both very satisfying.

Can reach tectonic superslam levels of AoE (covers the entire screen) and 5mil+ DPS with 7.5k+ life. Face tanked pretty much everything in the game outside of uber elder which required some movement/awareness. Enjoy!

edit: Getting a lot of messages about the rings as seems like they've gone up in price since I bought mine way back. So you only really need the "% increased effect of herald of ash" mod, that's the big one. If those (without the %increased fire damage) are still too pricey, just run a standard mark of the shaper + elder ring setup.

edit 4: quick and dirty video of minotaur map/kill (note map had 25% less AoE and temp chains, so not the best aoe/mapping-experience showcase), forgive the background audio/chat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtoz1uMBFFc

    Charged Dash with new talents?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 02:13 AM PDT

I played Charged Dash when the skill was brand new, it has since seen a rework, channel talents have been added, and Trickster reworked. So I thougt I'd do something fun with this.

Planned on reserving 100% mana to stack extra elemental damage, however I am not sure about my talent tree.

I feel I path to much. Looking for some advice if this tree is ok, or is it better to do the tree Mathil used for his Voidforge Dasher?

New player looking for build advice - [Champion] Ice Spear Totems

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 10:45 PM PDT

    Hiya

I just started playing shortly before the end of Betrayal. I played a zombie/skelly necro build for a week or two before it ended and liked the playstyle of having pets. After doing a lot of research during the few days before Synthesis started, I ended up deciding on playing an ice spear totem build. I kind of took a lot of the information I had gathered and lightly following a guide promoting using the Champion ascendancy for a totem build.

I'm level 92 now, and along the way I have sort of made my own adjustments and played around with the passive tree trying to make it as efficient as I could. I was hoping to get some advice on my tree, gear choices, and gem selections if i could.

I figured I would provide some information towards how I plan to finish up my build as I see it currently as I get closer to 100.

Tree: with my remaining 8 points I am planning on picking up 5 of the 5% maximum life nodes and the jewel slot to the NE of Arcane Potency (for an additional 12% elemental damage as well)

Gear: If I can scrounge up another 20-25ex I was planning on getting an Atziri's Mirror, an Essence Worm (for hatred), a Watcher's Eye, and some sort of rare ring to keep me resist capped

Gems: Everything seems pretty much settled here besides me still needing a 21/20 Ice Spear and lvl 4 Empower

    Thank you for any help!

Cold Damage Over Time Multiplier Questions

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 10:39 PM PDT

Ok im new to DOT builds and im really loving my coldsnap/vortex build that im about to start investing into it.

But before I do that I have a few questions.

So from my understanding of cold damage overtime multiplier is each new source stacks additively to then multiply the DOT?

If this is the case would it then have a point of diminishing returns, where something like %cold/spell damage/damage over time, would be better?

If so what is the general point of diminsihing returns? or am I just crazy and should stack the hell out of it?

    Good char for hc.

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 01:57 PM PDT

Hello, Since my last char ripped I am looking for a good char who is tanky and can clear maps kinda fast. My budget is 1 ex and about 200c. My thoughts are between occultist and trickster anyone got some ideas which one with which build would be better?

I tend to go for trickster with bane then soulrend but I don't know how got the new trickster is in hc but with occultist it would be easier to go for ci for syndicates another option would be hoa glad or rf jugg.

But I have the feeling HoA glads clear is kinda slow same goes for rf or is it just my opinion?

New to the Game and need some Tipps for my build

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 03:57 PM PDT

As the Title says: i played the game for, maybe, 5 hours now and i quiet like it.

But i heard you can really mess up your build if you are not carefull with your skills.

I am currently playing a Marauder and try to kerp it simple... so its pure blunt force trauma with him :) i am thinking strength and, maybe, blood magic so i can ignore mana, if i read that correctly?

i think i am level 8 or 9 at the moment and have 4 unused skill points. What skill points (5 i think) i got are mostly invested into life, armor, strength and meele damage...

Do you guys got any Tips and hints for me?

    thanks a bunch guys :)

Optimizing Doedre's Skin + Scorn + Malediction interaction

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 01:33 PM PDT

Now that Doedre's Effigy is instant cast, this build might actually have some legs.

How can we maximize the amount of damaged converted? I'm not great with math, but I assume we need a physical or partly converted physical skill?

I fooled around in PoB and was able to get around 900k Shaper DPS with The Disintegrator and Divine Ire, but I'm sure it can go much higher.

Looking for a Multishot - Style Build

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 10:57 AM PDT

    Hello,

I am looking for a "Diablo Multishot - Style" build. With high mobility and good map speed (and not the worst single target damage).

I did play Kinetic Blast / Barrage Pathfinder with Queen of the forest some leagues ago - I enjoyed the speed and the clear speed, but I didn't play it since the Kinetic Blast changes (and I am looking for something else)

    Any suggestions?

    [Theorycraft]Winter orb trickster lf improvements

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 02:42 PM PDT

Hey everyone was just jammin on some ideas on where to take my synthesis character next and would love to get some outside eyes on the subject.

    POB link: https://pastebin.com/4a5CEk53

Link is my current gear, I just recently picked up the atziri's reflection and it's opening up some doors for me namely utilizing coward's legacy.

What I want out of the build at this stage?

    1. Squeeze out some more damage for like depth 400~ Aul's, Pushing to depth 600 and beyond
    2. Some more es. That extra little bit would be a very nice safety net for pushing 100 or surviving boss/deep delves.

I included some extra gear options in the chest/belt slot to toy around with the numbers pulling current items available from the market.

Going CI w/cowards legacy maintains the damage bonus and gives me ~2k es with a chest other then shavs but it Scuffs my aura's atm causing me to loose some damage and I'm not sure how to patch this up + still gain more dps then I have currently.

Open for any suggestions would love to hear all kinds of thoughts on the matter if you wanna chat about the build hmu @Glaciez or leave a post here.

1st time playing a non melee or trap char and not sure what's what. I usually run a molten strike or arc trapper character so i'm not too sure what to stack/build when playing with spells.

I went with Soulrend Trickster coz it seemed FotM and not sure where to go from here.

Need improvements to my Soulrend/Bane Trickster Build

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 02:29 PM PDT

Hey all, I was semi following a couple builds because I'm liking doing both Bane and Soulrend spells. They stack nicely on bosses too and I'm just having fun using both. I'm currently mapping T10 maps and while I'm still doing pretty well, I feel like I don't have the survivability that I need if I want to continue. My health and mana drop really quickly when I take damage and it's a race if I can flask up in time. My tree needs help I think. Also, I feel like there can be some improvements thanks to gear or my tree to help with my damage too? I'm semi new to the game and this is my furthest character yet and I hope to be able to beat the game this season. Any help would be appreciated!

    Satisfying build for 5-6 ex

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 04:53 AM PDT

Playing a soulrend/bane trickster atm, got it to tier 12 maps and it's still pretty strong. Looking for either a bow or coc build, good movespeed too if possible. Its my first league so wanna try something other than chaos too.

Improving damage and survivability of SB Elementalist for boss fights.

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 12:32 PM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/MezTbhxR

So I have little to no problem with clearing and am able to blitz through anything up to and including T16s. My problem is that my single target damage isn't very good so it takes me awhile to kill red map bosses. My non-elemental defenses require flasks to not be terrible (even with flasks up they aren't that great) so fighting bosses becomes dangerous because my low damage means they take awhile to bring down.

So I'm trying to figure out some way to greatly increase my damage output and/or my physical damage mitigation. I have also looked at trying to free up points by dropping MoM since it's not suggested for hybrid builds but losing it seems to heavily increase the chance of me dying in boss fights. I've also considered going full life instead of hybrid but I wouldn't even know where to begin as I'd have to completely rework my gear and much of my tree.

Looking to put a little polish to my Bane/Soulrend Occultist.

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 05:43 AM PDT

So, this is the first character that I started with no predetermined plan/build and just went with it. I've managed to get my hands on a +3 bow with the general chaos damage multipliers, as well as with the trigger on skill use craft, and would like to try and put a little more polish on the character.

Currently I've been self casting Bane with only despair linked, but while also using the new Vixen's Entrapments to trigger Enfeeble and Temp chains, which has been nice to not have to worry about balancing out mana reserve to attempt to get two curses, discipline, and malevolence all together, and not to even mention even trying to fit in aspect of the spider.

https://pastebin.com/UscpspW6 Here's my character currently. As a quick note, I did have the Hex Master nodes, but just switched it to some reduced mana reserve to test something. I would also love to pick up the Duel Wield caster nodes later on just as personal preference just for the CD recovery for flame dash.

With the new Cat Soulrend I would love to switch to it as my main skill with Essence Drain being triggered from my bow, but between its mana cost to spam it and figuring out how to apply my curses now I just haven't been able to get it going smoothly. I could trade out my gloves for some generic ES gloves and use Heretic's Veil, but I still don't know if that would work without picking up nearly all the mana reserve nodes in reach, or without getting a Despair impresence maybe, but I'm absolutely broke again. If I did go Soulrend, I was thinking of dropping Malediction + Profane Bloom to go down the path to Withering Presence instead, meaning I'd have to pick up the +1 curse on tree again and just drop Temp Chains completely in favor of Enfeeble and Despair.

Anyone with any ideas or input I'm missing? I've only done a chaos build once, and it was made following a guide since I didn't have any clue at the time. This is the first character of my own I've ever gotten to mapping. I started the character planning to use Soulrend but Bane just felt so much smoother while leveling so I tailored the character to it instead. Maybe I'd be better just keeping it as is, using Bane as my main skill and triggering Soulrend, but I won't get to see as many cute cats :c
