    I just got scammed

    Posted: 21 Jul 2019 04:13 AM PDT

So I was about to buy a 6 linked Carcass Jack for 2.5 Ex from poe.trade. It usually goes for more so I thought I am very lucky that someone sells it for way less.

I wrote him and he invited me. He put in the chest which was 6 linked, and I put in my 2 Ex and 85 Chaos. I was already happy and clicked accept when he suddenly said "Hey man it's about to rain in few minutes, did you close your windows already?"

I told him I check and he was right! Some of my windows in my apartment were wide open so I closed them. I thought wow what a nice guy!

Then I went back and he already had accepted trade, I briefly checked his item, Carcass okay, 6linked fine, I hit accept.

I left his hide and wanted to equip my chest and I stared and was like wtf what the heck did he give me?

Pay attention what you buy! Don't get scammed, they are getting smarter every day!!!

EDIT: It actually just started raining. Now I'm scared.

What exactly makes PoE so heavy (performance-wise)?

    Posted: 21 Jul 2019 05:30 AM PDT

Of course the "heaviness" of PoE can be better perceived in less potent machines (aka. potato PCs), and on consoles.

I recently upgraded my PC with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and i9-9900K CPU, and PoE still feels like the heaviest game I have: the cooling fans go crazy when I start mapping, and the charts of GPU and CPU usage go all to 100% (not all cores for the CPU though, feels like the game doesn't use all cores).

So, what exactly makes PoE so heavy? It's not the most advanced (visual-wise) game (like a FPS), it doesn't simulate thousands or units at the same time (like a RTS), and also doesn't have to render hundreds of players in the same screen (like a MMO).

Is it just the engine that is not optimized, or is there something specific that makes the game so heavy?

VIDEO DIARY (WITH IMPORTANT INFORMATION - RECOMMENDED TO WATCH BEFORE READING ON):

    DAY FIVE:

Thanks for turning the drops back on today Chris, I really appreciate it.

Today was a great day! I'm feeling much better, and so I decided to grind out another 300 maps to bring me to a grand total of 1000 maps! What a journey we have been on folks, but like I stated above, go watch the video for some interesting information near the end... I'm changing things up soon.

    MAPS RUN: 300

TOTAL TIME TAKEN: 4 hours, 57 minutes, 40 seconds

AVERAGE PER MAP: 59.5 SECONDS (keepin' it low, happy about this)

TOTAL PROFIT (DAY THREE): 2892.44 CHAOS (holy smokes, batman)

PROFIT PER HOUR: 583.02 CHAOS WHAT A DAY AM I RIGHT FOLKS

    PROFIT PER MAP: 9.64 CHAOS

    NOTABLE DROPS:

    Exalted orb: 4

    The Saint's Treasure: 12

    Divine orb: 10

    Stacked deck: 22

    Maraketh splinters: 118

    Serrated Fossil: 2

    Mortal Ignorance: 1

    Xoph's Enriched Breachstone: 2

    Kaom's Heart: 1

Cobalt Jewel (es, cold damage, crit multi): 1 (20c)

    Sidhebreathe amulet w/ extra curse: 1 (80c)

So much drop, so many currency.

    SUMMARY:

Today couldn't have gone better. Rounding out 1000 maps with this last 300 felt like the last 300 meters in a 1000m sprint... except it was a bit less rough on the legs, and a bit rougher on the wrists. Luck was on my side with consistent good drops as well as a few big ticket items, plus a plethora of smaller currencies. I also decided to pick up jewels and amulets today, ID'ing and corrupting. I found a few good ones, and a couple sold as I was mapping for a little price which was nice!

I won't say too much just yet, but this is the end of the first leg of my Road to Headhunter! Either check the vid above, or keep reading to the bottom to see some more stats, and what's coming.

    ----

    GRAND TOTAL MAPS RUN: 1000

    GRAND TOTAL PROFIT: 9178.78 CHAOS

GRAND TOTAL TIME SPENT: 17 HOURS, 50 MINUTES, 21 SECONDS (including selling and buying time)

GRAND TOTAL PROFIT PER HOUR: 514.53 CHAOS (a net GAIN of 26.39 CHAOS from yesterday)

Chaos left until Headhunter Purchasable (according to Poe.Ninja as of 1:26am AEST, 22/07/19):

    16524.52 CHAOS

We've got 2789.64 chaos closer today! A good day of gains.

    ESTIMATED MAPS REMAINING: ~1800

ESTIMATED TIME REMAINING: 32 hours, 6 minutes, 38 seconds

    ---------------

So the big news is... I'm done with Alleyways! It's started to get a bit too repetitive, and I thought rather than completing everything in alleyways, I will do the next 1000 maps in Glacier to see the comparison between the two maps. So, without further ado, here's some conclusive stats from 1000 Alleyways Monoliths:

    - On average, and Exalt Dropped every 1 hour, 16 minutes, 27 seconds

    - 28 Saint's Treasures were dropped, which is equivalent to 924 CHAOS (OVER 10% OF ALL TOTAL PROFIT!)

    How interesting is this!

    --------------

LASTLY, I'm also changing my build up! No spoilers here but the video contains juicy teasers for that. On that note, as I am now done with this build, If anyone wants to bulk-buy the build I've been playing, PM me either here, or ingame! (@WhyAreYouAnArachnaphobe)

I'm excited for the next leg of the journey. Lets do this, people.

    Badger out.

What if... there were outcomes for vaaling Flasks?

    Posted: 21 Jul 2019 11:29 AM PDT

    • Unique flask that can only be obtained by corrupting unique flasks

    • Alternate Implicit

    • Implicit replaced with " Has an additional mod"

    • Grant special mod on Life and mana flask " Lasts its full duration"

    • etc

I feel that it would be nice, it wouldnt need to bite into the powercreep to be great, it would just feel different and diversity enabling
