Blight Helper Tool - Final Update Posted: 13 Sep 2019 06:56 AM PDT Greetings, exiles! This will likely be my final update post for my Blight Helper tool. It's come a long way from being a basic oil simulator, and I'm excited to share its full range of features with you. All anointment types are now supportedThe tool now supports all three types of anointment: passive, tower enchantments, and maps. Each type of anointment provides you with a fully searchable table of all the anointment data. You can select any anointment from the table and view its required oils in the simulator. Oil solverWant to see which anointments are available with your current stock of oils? Input their quantities and the table will let you know what you can anoint, including oils available through the 3-for-1 vendor recipe. Tower info and filteringWhen you select ring anointments, a full list of tower icons will appear over the anointments table. You can mouse over these to refresh yourself on the help text for each tower. Clicking one of these icons will filter the table and show you anointments for that specific tower type. Oil simulatorAnd of course, the original oil simulator is still in place. Select your anointment type and add oils to simulate the in-game anointment interface. This can be especially helpful for checking combined mods on blighted maps. This has been a really fun learning experience for me, and I hope you find this tool useful. If you have any questions/comments/bug reports, feel free to reach out. Cast your burning gaze to thine soul! [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Sep 2019 07:28 AM PDT Most people realied blight loot itself is not that bad, absolutely comparable to legion, but with oils on top. Now a lot of people are complaining because they take too long, and are therefore not worth the time investment. Now these people play very fast builds and care only about the currency per time ratio. I personally play slower builds, tho not far below average, coming in at 2.5 to 3.5 minutes per map. This already makes blights better than for the 1minute per map players. I also enjoy the slower pace of blight, as i have a family and work 5 days a week for 9 hours a day, excluding lunch break. not being constantly worried about being able to go faster, and enjoy a slower encounter from time to time, is something i like, as i play games to relieve stress, not to build up stress. Last but not least, doing a map and its blight encounter do have great rewards, when considering the rewards per map ratio, instead of the rewards per time ratio. This one is very important for ssf players and also for tradeleague players who only trade a minimal amount, of which there are a lot of AFAIK. I do not know how big the percentage of people who are unhappy with the rewards is, but i do realize they are a very vocal part and i wanted to chime in with another opinion, hoping lots of other people also enjoy the current league very much, ignoring the performance problem for the sake of objectivity. [Happy Post] Blight has absolutely nailed the early reward curve for a league mechanic. Posted: 13 Sep 2019 04:21 AM PDT There's been a lot of negativity, or at the very least critical discussion, from the community and prominent members popping up now that we are approaching the first week of the league. Chief among which ive noticed - is the perceived lack of rewards, not feeling that Blight is "worth" doing, and offering various solutions to attempts to solve this issue. With this post i wanted to shift the focus briefly away from the endgame to super endgame that experienced players are familiar to living in constantly outside from day one of the league - and can be mildly forgiven for forgetting that other aspects of poe even exist. Blight has been an absolute dream to level a new character and do chilled, slow map progression in. I cant remember the last league that was this fun to just progress through at your own pace. For levelling, early progression and even into yellow / early reds the Blight league mechanic's "reward curve" has, imho, been the ideal that all future league mechanics should try to emulate. *) Blight encounters felt rewarding and worth doing while levelling, but not overly so. They arent trivial and can easily kill unopimized builds in janky points in your early progression, or at least cause failures. They offer good enough rewards to be useful, but dont trivialise levelling by consistently dropping candy. *) In particular being able to get low tier oils early and them actually having a not irrelevant use, encouraged and rewarded actually engaging with the mechanic more as you went. It reminded me of levelling during Essence league in how you didnt feel bad for using low tier essences on super early gear, and the benefits they gave were nice while not trivialising the process. *) I cannot express how happy i was, when i watched Grimro's initial report, as well as reading the reports of many others, and hearing that just grinding the encounters in white maps is not at all worth doing as a farming strategy. The last thing i want out of ANY league mechanic, is for the meta to once again devolve into "spam irrelevant content for an afternoon, you now have 100ex". This affects every single aspect of the league when it is present, and even in my eyes ruins enjoyable aspects of vanilla poe through the knock-on impact it has on the economy. Even in SSF, when these strategies are present, far too often the best solution to any problem is just to go to HB/Quarry/Glacier and spam - as chances are you'll gain the resources to solve whatever issue you were having. Too many recent leagues have been blighted (pun intended), by this side effect of GGG's reward structures, and i am very happy that it is not present in Blight. *) As a direct result of the above, it actually encourages more interaction with the mechanic during initial progression. As resources and funds arent trivialised by the cotton candy mechanic, players are encourages to seek them out in every opportunity - which incentivises engagement in a wide variety of mechanics and makes them each individually feel comparatively more rewarding. As opposed to just skipping everything, including the map itself, just to spam the one free exalts cotton candy button as much as possible. *) Lastly, the mechanic noticeably gets more rewarding the more you progress. It is very clear that from acts, to whites to yellows and to reds, at each "tier" of progression the mechanic steps up and rewards you for achieving a higher tier of progression. This has been especially nice for me, in what i usually call the "early reds/late yellows doldrum period" - which has consistently been one of the most frustrating periods in naive progression for even experienced players. In short - the mechanic is great for levelling, its not stupidly over-rewarding at low level maps/late act zones, and it actually progresses with tiers of content. The solution at all points in time to get better rewards, is to do harder content. As a general curve for a league mechanic, this is excellent and exactly how every league mechanic should be in this game in my opinion. Now, that doesnt mean there arent valid complaints about the reward structures, or that the mechanic couldnt be buffed more at the higher ends to make it feel more worthwhile. There most certainly are. One i agree with in particular is how successful completion of the mechanic at all levels takes an essentially fixed amount of time, no matter how strong your build is - which does fly in the face of aRPG fundamentals. However, as a basic curve for early to mid progression - which its important to acknowledge is the extent what the vast majority of players experience - this league has been amazing and i applaud GGG for nailing this aspect of the "curve". QOL: ctrl click should move currency, div cards, fragments etc to their respective tabs Posted: 13 Sep 2019 09:38 AM PDT Basically title. Even with dedicated tabs like currency one, fragment, etc, sorting items out is annoying and takes a lot of time. Suggestion is to make items go straigth to the dedicated tab when using ctrl+click. If a dedicated tab of a current type is not present, it goes to the currently selected tab, if possible. [link] [comments]
[Discussion]Perandus coins should be available from stash without carrying them around. Posted: 13 Sep 2019 07:15 AM PDT Just got done doing a Zana 1 life map, and Perandus appears from the blight chest, in the Zana Map. Because I'm a normal person who doesn't carry all my perandus coins around everywhere I go, I obviously can't take the deal from him. It seems like there would be no downside to making the entirety of stash coins available to trade without having to retrieve them, for both convenience and to stop dumb situations like this happening. The ctrl+scroll should work when the mouse is anywhere on screen. Posted: 13 Sep 2019 01:04 PM PDT So in Blight GGG released a new QOL that I used to have using the trade-macro, where when you hold ctrl and scroll you can switch between tabs way faster. I was happy about this because I often forget to launch the macro, until I tried it and realized the mouse has to be inside the tabs to be able to scroll. (Unlike the macro where it doesn't matter where the mouse position is) It may not sound like a big deal but I can't stress how much it bothered me not being able to do it, and I just go and launch the macro just for it. You put a bit of time to make this QOL, put a tiny bit more and make it truly worth it. [link] [comments]
