    Endless Delve Poison BV Occultist

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 02:39 PM PST

If you arent tired of BV occultist yet, this build will probably destroy any delve content. You have 3 curses + grace + some spell supression + regen/recoup as a base defense. EB takes care of any mana concerns. You get something like 15% of life on kill which in delve happens all the time. you destroy all corpses and jumping spiders should be insta gibbed as long as BV is up. DPS can scale very easily on no items. If you wanna go fast other movement skills are an option and plage bearer lets you dash through all content https://pastebin.com/duDAmra6 i would be running this if i hadnt played BV to death. To clear any zone pretty much hold the skill button down.

Brutus' Lead Sprinkler Flicker Jugg: better than expected

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 03:33 AM PST

TLDR: I made an offmeta Flicker build work on the cheap with some lucky finds and plenty of room left for upgrades. Best league ever.

I've been tinkering with Flicker Strike a lot this league. It seems like a perfect fit for the Scourge mechanic: shifting won't disorient you if you're already disoriented and you don't need to react to mobs if you're teleporting around too fast to react anyway. The problem was, the standard variants felt too squishy or too low DPS at low investment. Then I thought of trying a strength stacking variation.

The initial concept was pretty simple: start as a raider, stack strength through cheap gear and Inertia jewels and path to the frenzy charge nodes, Iron Will and Utmost Might. That worked pretty well at low investment: you can stack a decent amount of strength on cheap gear and tree and your strength and frenzy charges stack multiplicatively. I got ele ailment immunity from Avatar of the Veil and the Crystal Skin wheel, stun immunity from Unwavering Stance and ran Determination with Iron Reflexes. Armor and flat life from strength kept me relatively safe from oneshots while Flicker kept me from taking too many hits at once. I ran that build up to level 91.

Eventually I started looking for bigger upgrades. Even a Raider has occasional frenzy generation issues against single targets so I checked Trade for Farrul's Furs. I managed to buy a krangled one with Iron Will and reduced global defences with no markup, perfect for my build but trash for most that'd want a Farrul's.

At this point my build options were wide open. The tree could easily accomodate Shadow, Ranger, Duelist or Marauder starts. After some PoBing I realized that A) strength stacking looked like the best bang for the buck with low-to-moderate investment and B) with strength stacking, Jugg seemed to begin to catch up on DPS. If your build isn't losing much damage as a Jugg, you should probably go Jugg. I got a Warlord's accuracy helm, Oskarm gloves and rerolled.

At this point, I consider the build complete but not finished. It's outperformed my expectations every step of the way: cheap to get going, tanky enough to avoid oneshots, high enough DPS to clear well and to do okay against bosses. It's good enough to farm most content and there are pretty clear upgrade paths.

Here's my current PoB. Battlemage's Cry isn't included in the DPS calculations so I've edited it onto the Redblade Banner: 150% base plus 40% increased buff effect from the Natural Authority wheel. https://pastebin.com/Rbz3JB7P

The build is unique heavy and suffix hungry so I'm running Purity of Elements to make gearing manageable. I'm also fitting in Determination, Precision and a Banner. I'm using War Banner for the accuracy bonus, Defiance Banner would be a more defensive option. To solve the mana issue, I'm using an Elreon craft on a ring (only open prefix for that with my current gear), a Replica Conqueror's Efficiency (found in a heist) and an Inspiration in my Flicker links.

On the tree, I'm stretching all the way to Frenetic in order to grab Blood Drinker and Clever Thief. They're a simple and cheap way to sustain but alternatives could allow for a more efficient tree. Other than that, it's pretty straightforward: maxres, charges, life, damage and some resists. Next two points go to Attributes mastery and Critical mastery. Unspecced from the former for now because Dismembering is slightly better damage according to PoB.

Farrul's Fur, Aspect of the Cat supported by Less Duration and Frenzy charges is pretty standard for Flicker. You're guaranteed to have full uptime of charges even outside combat and you'll almost never lose all frenzy charges before they replenish even on singletarget.

Using Iron Will to make strength's melee damage increase to apply to spell damage, and then using Crown of Eyes or Battlemage's Cry to make it apply with increased effect to all attack damage rather than just melee physical, gives you a large amount of increased damage if you're stacking strength. It's often combined with Iron Fortress for a 50% larger increase but I'm playing Flicker so I'm sticking with my Farrul's. I opted for the Redblade Banner/Battlemage's Cry combo to free up my helm slot for the Warlord's accuracy-per-strength mod. With this setup, going Jugg and using Oskarm, strength gives me flat life, flat damage, increased damage and flat accuracy, which in turn gives me attack speed and increased crit chance. That's something like quadruple-dipping though the values are low enough to not spiral completely out of control.

PoB shows 700k Sirus DPS for Flicker with non-Vaal totems out and just above 1M with totems included, not counting cull. I'm not including exposure from WoC because I don't always remember to apply it. That seems... pretty good for a self-made offmeta build with (estimated) under 10ex investment. I've paid 3ex for the chest, 1ex each for the hat and gloves, and spent maybe a couple of hundred c on other purchases and crafts.

The build isn't perfectly replicable without an Iron Will Farrul's but it should still be able to function: not having to path to Iron Will on the tree saves me 7 points, all strength and life nodes which would be okay value for the build. Hard to decide what to cut though.

    Endless delve build suggestions

I really want to make a VD/DD spellslinger as my build. I was just wondering if it is viable in delve only and is it possible in ssf as I have never played ssf before. If there is something more beginner friendly I'm up for suggestions.

Ideas For Flask On Hit Pathfinder

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 02:37 PM PST

    Hello!

I've been trying to make a certain build work as I liked the idea quite a lot. The idea behind the flask on hit comes from this channel: POE Pathfinder Builds - YouTube

Right now it can do fairly decently up to simulacrum wave 20, yet it lacks damage so I'm looking for some upgrades for it. I'm open for ideas, be it item, skill tree, ascendancy or even skill changes. The only thing I want is for it to be tanky and chill playstyle (not having to press 5 buttons)

The PoB right now looks like this (working on lvl 100 where I'll probably take life): https://pastebin.com/2hrUt43F

Also, the budget should be around 100ex just for upgrades.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Str stacking occultist help

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 10:23 AM PST

    Hi guys,

I've been playing the str stacking occultist cyclone and I have been enjoying it so far! I was wondering how strong I actually was atm, so I got my ass into a simulacrum and... Well after wave 22 my ass was kicked. I really want to push this build to do wave 30 simu, but atm I feel like I am lacking both offensively and defensively. I would appreciate any help! My PoB: https://pastebin.com/amJm11Bb

    Things I am aware of:

    - Chaos res is doodoo, seems like simulacrum has a lot of phys as extra chaos. I can probably fix this by getting a decently rolled watcher's eye that grants chaos res while purity of elements is active.
    - Life is also pretty meh, I can probably get that up to 7k ish with 1 more level, a str + attribute stacking amu (so no astramentis), which at an entry level is pretty cheap to craft.

    Things I am wondering:

    - I'm not sure if my clusters make sense (aside from having overlord), any major improvement I can make?
    - I am also not sure how useful my armour is. Currently have 84% phys reduction, but during simu (and some boss fights) I still feel like a wet cardboard since spells are a thing. Should I just drop it? I feel a bit too squishy still for my liking.

I have 15% inc strength form my lethal pride and I have included the BMC calculation (which might be off by a few percentages) in custom modifiers. I have also turned off power charges, I generate them through leap slam + ass mark, but its a little too inconsistent. I use a boom mace for clear as well.

THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ANYONE WHO TAKES TIME OUT OF THEIR DAY TO HELP ME! :D

Occultist PC or Necro VD/DD for Endless Delve?

Occultist PC or Necro VD/DD for Endless Delve?

Necro can be very tanky with the unique shield maxing block/spell block and removes corpses with constant DD and offerings..

Occultist clears very well with Profane bloom and removes corpses.

Anyone used these builds in Delve? Any thoughts on practical aspects? I have no desire to push too deep into Delve. Just want to have fun.

    Frost blades for Endless Delve

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 09:45 AM PST

This will be my 1st time doing endless delve so I decided to plan in advance on PoB.
While looking at the unique you get I like the +1 Frenzy weapons so I decided to make a build that wouldn't swap those out.
I'm not entirely sure on the reality of what gear I would get so i have only put 2 of the swords and a diamond flask onto the character and is only using a 5 link.

The Build is put to level 90 and has 150k dps.
with the gear ill find maybe that might change a little too.
Is 150k on frost blades enough in delve to get me somewhat deep? (Deep enough to farm some okay gear for a second character at least)

And is there anything on the tree I've maybe routed wrong or missed out?

LS Raider: Help surviving Kosis + single target dmg

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 08:17 AM PST

I've built what I thought was a pretty tanky Raider but still have issues clearing wave 30 sim deathless. I'm unsure if it's just a mechanics check (not dodging well enough on Kosis) or there's more I could do to survive. To be clear the only thing I'm dying to in sims is Kosis. Additionally it takes me quite a while to kill him wave 25+ so unsure if there's big changes I could be making to my single target dmg to fix that. I was about to buy an awakened multistrike but thought I'd post before spending 50ex. My guess is I need more phys mitigation but unsure how to get more. I've been trying to roll a Lethal Pride with intimidate + multiple instances of phys taken as fire and then roll my helmet to have 10% phys taken as fire as well.

Oh additionally I seem to get DESTROYED by Primal Crushclaws and not really sure why either. I assume it's the tornado/whirlpool being part phys dot?

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/krMWUGYv

    Any suggestions are welcome.

Permanent Ward Forbidden Rite - Inconsistently Invincible

    Posted: 29 Nov 2021 05:52 PM PST

Permanent Ward Forbidden Rite - Inconsistently Invincible

A few weeks ago, I had seen a wonderful build like this one, which cleverly used Olroth's Resolve to establish a permanent ward. Like some of my other experimental builds, I wanted to run with this to an extreme (how much permanent Ward can I get? and how much can I tank/kill with it?) and see what it was capable of.

The build idea isn't really about Forbidden Rite—you can substitute other damaging skills or mechanics, such as Heartbound Loop, as I saw in a different post recently—but Forbidden Rite appealed to me because of Ward's unique strength: it basically acts as a flat damage reduction to each individual hit applied right before your Energy Shield/Life. Meaning if we trigger Forbidden Rite a million times per second, with any other non-CI build, we would die, since even 1 damage per cast would turn into a million accumulated damage; but Ward would reduce each hit to 0, allowing us to scale Forbidden Rite's casts as high as possible without fear of hurting ourselves, while also allowing us to utilize their higher scaling value off of Life.

As such, initially, I intended to go for a cast on critical strike version to maximize the number of casts I could make, but the initial ramp-up cost proved very, very expensive. I only had a few exalt to my name, so I went with a self-cast Forbidden Rite build instead.

Before I get into how the build works, I'll review its strengths and weaknesses.

    ---

    Build Strengths

    • Literally invincible in a good amount of content. I was able to afk in 100% delirious T16 maps against most mobs there, taking 0 damage, since the permanent ward reduced all their hit damage to 0, and 30% Life Recoup (which procs off of all that Ward-blocked damage!) was also healing me an absurd amount, in the event any larger hits or small DoTs came through. I never tried Simulacrum, but I suspect I could afk in those as well—except, perhaps, against certain bosses.
    • Cheaper to start up compared to some bigger builds. It took me 3 exalts to get all the level 70 gear and jewels that would allow me to run the build successfully.
    • Can scale Forbidden Rite's cast speed as high as you want, since all that self-damage is blocked.
    • Can also use a 2nd flask spot to have permanent flask uptime. This build variant, for example, used Doedre's Elixir and kept all Power, Endurance, and Frenzy Charges at maximum, full uptime, which allowed me to scale damage and survivability heavily off of increased maximum charge count.

    Build Weaknesses

    • The invincibility is inconsistent against two damage types: very large hits and damage over time. I can mitigate the latter fairly well, as I had a 'Bleeding cannot be inflicted on you' ring, Purity of Elements to prevent any elemental ailments, such as Ignite, Pantheon to reduce poisons (could also get a corrupted implicit to prevent being poisoned at all), etc. And I stacked around 15k Armour to help with large hits, while also getting 100% reduced extra damage from critical strikes + 100% reduced curse effect to prevent extra scaling of physical damage or less resistances from map curse modifiers, like Vulnerability or Elemental Weakness. These absolutely improved Ward's invincibility when it comes to maps. Add in the Occultist's Malediction and I could, for example, facetank A8 Sirus' DIE beam and take no damage at all with high enough Ward! But other abilities, such as anything from Shaper or a lot of Slams from various bosses, will instantly kill you, because your mitigation isn't high enough. You are, functionally, either invincible or dead.
    • This build experiment was focused around scaling permanent Ward to obscene amounts; hence, we used Faithguard to scale Ward off of increased Energy Shield. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to scale both Ward and damage at the same time, since no skill that I'm aware of scales off of increased Energy Shield/increased Defense stats. Instead, they scale off of Life/ES maximum amounts, such as Forbidden Rite and Righteous Fire, neither of which scales off of Ward/increased modifiers for Ward. As such, since most of my passive tree, and a good amount of my gear mods, are devoted to keeping the permanent Ward engine running, my main source of damage scaling for Forbidden Rite is through Intelligence, since it also scales Energy Shield and, thus, Ward, as well as Life, since I need more Life to increase my survivability against Damage over Time and to increase the max rate of Life Leech I could get from Divergent Void Manipulation quality. Which leads to the next problem.
    • Scaling the build from roughly 1 to 2 million Sirus DPS up to 4+million Sirus DPS is a massive, massive investment. It would, however, increase your permanent Ward by over 50%; at my current 1.5 million or so DPS, I have around 1600 permanent Ward, but with upgrades, I can get near 2800! With a bit more investment, you can facetank Shaper orbs and smaller slams with that amount of permanent Ward, taking no damage at all. But at the cost of hundreds upon hundreds of exalts—hardly worth a 5 million DPS build!
    • Some map mods can't be run well: 'Player gains reduced % flask charges' is real bad, and any big damage bursts can be tough if they scale the enemy damage above our Ward threshold. That will depend on how far along the build is, though.

    Build Design

The design of the build has two elements: the engine (Olroth's Resolve, Iron Flask + flask passives/The Traitor keystone) and the car it propels (Forbidden Rite + max charges + high Hit damage mitigation). Like any other car, you have to start the engine—in this case, you have to click Olroth's Resolve once you enter a map. Then the flask will perpetually be active, self-activating when it reaches the end of its duration. You can do something similar for Doedre's Elixir for permanent max charges.

Once the engine's running, the rest of the build works well. Forbidden Rite doesn't lose us any health, but it does count as damage taken (since our Ward took it), so it turns into Life via our 30% Life Recoup. If we get the expensive Divergent Void Manipulation support gem, we also get Life Leech off of that damage, making us quite tanky against smaller DoTs.

From there, as long as we keep the engine going, we can even face full screens of monsters, taking no damage at all... as long as none of the monsters have big slams, big buffs, or big DoTs.

This is 100% Delirious; could barely damage anything, but never died till I got boss slammed a bunch. Didn't think to screencap earlier when the whole screen was filled with monsters, but I was taking 0 damage through it all. Makes for very relaxed maps!

    Path of Building

    Current PoB: https://pastebin.com/Wvmnhze0

    - Cleared A8 Sirus, facetanking all but DoTs and debuff beam and big maze slam.

    - Rare deaths in red maps; mostly due to DoT or boss slam.

    3ex level 70 starter build PoB: https://pastebin.com/a1geZt12

    - Mostly invincible till you hit harder hitting mobs in maps; never had cleaner Acts clearing than from the moment I switched to this

I had a higher level PoB, but I accidentally overwrote it. The main differences were: increased Intelligence, Life, and "increased Damage for each 16 Intelligence" mods on amulet/rings, increased Ward/Abyss jewel slot for increased Life/Intelligence for gloves and boots, and a T1 attribute belt + maybe Life/Intelligence instead of T2 attribute belt. If we get our Intelligence up to 1200+, we have around 5mil Sirus DPS once we stack Withering for a few seconds (Withering Step gets us halfway there), along with around 2800 permanent Ward, for much more consistent tankiness against everything but the most absurd slams and DoTs.

    ---

    Conclusion

Ultimately, I am posting the build now instead of a full video showcase showing me killing Uber Shaper, The Feared, Maven, and so on, because I don't want to grind for the many, many exalted orbs I would need to scale the damage that high. I'm still fairly new to PoE, so I don't have the super currency skills to get rich fast, nor have I ever fought those bosses before, and I am too happy with my day job and other hobbies to divert too much additional time to PoE, so I doubt I can really do this build justice at a higher level yet. But even at that higher level, I could see that it would be underwhelming compared to how other builds scale—stuff like Flicker Strike and int wander surpass this far quicker and cheaper.

But the build idea is really, really cool. And when you first adopt it, being able to just afk with a whole screen full of enemies, taking 0 damage, is a really awesome feeling! If any of the following buffs are given to the build in future leagues (something I will certainly be keeping an eye on!), then this build has the potential to become incredible:

    • Additional sources of 'reduced flask effect': this is effectively directly applied to increasing your Ward, since Olroth's permanent ward effect is not changed by 'reduced flask effect', but the -70% Ward effect is reduced by this modifier, meaning we lose less. The same is true for Doedre's Elixir: the charge sustain is not affected at all by the modifier, so it only has positive effects. We can scale Ward over 5,000 if this modifier becomes much more common! We currently only have one such mod that I could find: Survival Secrets with a 20% reduced mod.
    • Additional Ward gear/uniques
    • Additional self-damaging-via-hit abilities—preferably ones that can be scaled with same Ward-scaling modifiers
    • Additional Damage over Time mitigation/conversion into Hit. If a 'reverse' Petrified Blood existed, for example, making a DoT apply instead a Hit every second, we would become immune to all but Shaper beam-level DoTs.
    • Additional damage overall

But for now, the build is more of a meme/novelty build, unless one scales back the Ward investment, which opens up a lot more builds. The conditional 'invincibility' the build offers can only be realized at great cost to a lot else, which greatly limits the content the build can do without massive investment. Overall, I consider the build experiment a success, since it does have endgame content it can clear well. It just isn't universally applicable to all content, nor is it particularly strong. It's really just a cool and fun niche build.

    Accuracy Caps and Node Choices

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 02:45 PM PST

I'm working on my build for the last 13 levels, and PoB showed me Eagle Eye had a very high DPS boost if I could pick it up.

I worked it into the build, and then discovered some of the other pure +Accuracy nodes were now listed as contributing nothing to my DPS.

After some tweaking, it looks like there is some sort of accuracy cap. Is this correct?

    PoB Link: https://pastebin.com/66PffwZe

You can see the change by removing one of the Accuracy nodes above and below Versatility in the tree. With Eagle Eye active, disabling the first has no DPS affect, but disabling the second does.

Is this gauged just for trash mobs in clears, or does this apply to bosses as well?

Endless Delve - Cold BV Occultist

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 09:56 AM PST

    Hi PoEbuilds,

I am looking for some help/advice on improvements that can be made for a Cold BV Occ that I drafted up for endless delve. It'll be my first time participating in an event like this as well as creating my own build and I wanted to play an ascendancy and skill I haven't played in a couple of years.

Build here: https://pastebin.com/peRvsb3N (set to shaper/guardian not sure if that matters for endless delve or not)

I played around with and pulled ideas from some of the BV Occ on Poe Ninja and came up with the above. I'm most curious if the defensive layers hold up in delve (Stun avoidance, freeze/ chill immune, and the rotating freeze from the ascendancy is enough, recoup/on kill health % since we are killing a lot of small monsters) I've got blasphemy/frostbite as a vehicle for profane bloom procs, but maybe temp chains would be better for defense? At least until I can find a curse ring and replace blasphemy with herald of purity for more damage.

I tried to build it with as little items in the POB as possible because I know nothing is guaranteed (shield with nothing on it is included so that stun avoidance is calculated correctly). I'm hoping to chance or find a pair of hrimsorrows but that's the only real unique I want and I think the build is somewhat okay without it.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
