GGG, could you please make the "Extra Gore" toggleable? Posted: 23 Jan 2020 05:27 AM PST That mod which comes with Carcass Jack (there might be other ways how to get it, I'm not sure) is only good for increasing the visual clutter on screen... Please, make it optional :'( (unless it's considered as a unique downside). Thank you [link] [comments]
Dear GGG, please buff EHP on the right side of the tree Posted: 23 Jan 2020 12:29 PM PST Dear GGG, With the buff to monster HP and damage, playing builds on the right side of the tree results in constant 1shots no matter how much avoidance you stack. Bottom and left have HP, top has MOM and ES, can we please get a some sort of buff to EHP to the right side of the tree? Signed, [link] [comments]

Lore compilation update for 3.9 Posted: 23 Jan 2020 08:27 AM PST Here's an update of the complete lore compilation for version 3.9. For those unfamiliar with it, the original post can be found here. Complete Lore Compilation (PDF) Changes
This was a tricky update. The War for the Atlas questline became the backstory for the new endgame. I did my best to retell this story using in-game dialogue, though it was a challenge since it has never really been explained in written lore but was instead played through by players. With the ability to play through this quest now gone, it may be hard for players starting in 3.9 or later (or who never made it through the quest) to understand exactly what happened. But I think what I was able to piece together is pretty decent. I suspect the Conquerors of the Atlas storyline is not fully developed yet. There are voice lines in the game files which, as far as I can tell after completing the whole questline, cannot currently be triggered in-game. These include dialogue where the other conquerors appear to be talking to Sirus, but currently I don't think there's any encounter in which they are seen together. It did take a few leagues for the War for the Atlas quest to get fully fleshed out into its final state, and that may be the case here as well. Hope you enjoy! [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jan 2020 03:00 AM PST First time poster, long time lurker. The intention of this post is to bring under the attention the slow manual account recovery process that GGG still uses in 2020. Let's see what happened. Sun 19-01: I receive an email saying my account is locked for security reasons, as someone in China tried to login to my account. I'm provided an unlock code. By opening PoE through Steam I could simply login without said code. I sent GGG a reply asking how my email address account could be compromised if I was logging in through Steam, and why their code system seemed disfunctional. Status: One email received, one sent. Mo 20-01: GGG replies with a lengthy and personally written and compiled email (so not an autoreply), about how and where Chris talks about account security. This GGG employee actually locked my account, and stated they did so. From hereon I can't login anymore through Steam either in PoE. "please let us know when you have completed a malware scan of your computer and changed your email password and we can go ahead and look into restoring access to the account." Now, I'm pretty sure no malware resides on this computer, or it's some variant of Stuxnet that's still about and undetectable. A lot of passwords are in the wild due to hacks and breaches were millions upon millions of email and password combinations enter the world wide web. Regardless, a change of password seemed like a smart option. Did you really have to lock my account for this? I respond with a dump of logins on my account from Steam (all valid and safe logins), and again ask why my account is compromised if Steam shows none such thing. Status: Two emails received, two sent. Tue 21-01: GGG can't say anything about Steam accounts, but since I have a relatively old account (2014) which was previously unlinked to Steam, there may be some doubling of accounts / login options going on. What they did ask was more proof because now we are in "the verification process". Okay..? Didn't I contact you about my account? "First, can you please let us know the names of a few of your characters and the city where the account was created from?" I respond with the names of my oldest and youngest characters (public profile information, but whatever), and the supposed geolocation they were probably made (geoguessing from Steam showed they were off by 100Km on my current location, so there's that). GGG responds by asking my IP address. I sent it to them. Status: Six emails received, six sent. Wed 22-01: I send an extra message to ask what's going on and when they would expect to restore access to my account. Many apologies are given throughout our interaction, but the next question is once more to provide more information, this time about my latest purchases through Steam. "Once we have this information we can look into this further for you." Further, really? If I didn't sent an email to them asking about technicalities after which GGG decides to lock my account, I would never have been here. But I have to wait a little longer, right? No problem, except that there hasn't been communication since, and we're now into the 23rd of January, counting four days of manual labour on their part, and me scratching my nails on the wall to get my fix. Status: Seven emails received, nine sent. --- So what I want to say with this is something I already clarified multiple times in this conversation with GGG, is that this process could've taken roughly five minutes for me in an automated account recovery environment and no time for them, something I would expect an internet-based company to have figured out by now. It would save many working hours on their part, and all the downtime I'm not in-game I'm not enticed to spent money on your game either. As much as I really appreciate the personal and involved support, this doesn't seem practical for any party involved. tl;dr: Contacted support because of a non-working account lock after suspicious activity outside of Steam. GGG locks account pre-emptively, takes roughly a week to unlock (hopefully). Seems like a lot of manual labour in 2020. Updated to check with all the Karen blamers: The point I'm trying to make here is one of seeming inefficiency. Some people pointed out that an automated system wouldn't provide the same security, so that's in interesting reply in this conversation. What still surprised me was that they locked my account, whilst I was able to play and had changed needed passwords. I didn't request access to my account, or needed a change of related information. My message was initially pointed at the code I received which didn't seem needed at all, so it was either a phishing attempt (doesn't seem like it) or some other systematic thing unknown to me. As some users have suggested the old account details never got deleted when users switched to Steam, so that perhaps clarifies that. Thanks for all the replies! [link] [comments]

I did a bunch of probability analysis on Hands of the High Templar Posted: 23 Jan 2020 03:52 AM PST So I got bored and decided I wanted to know how hard it really is to get 5 implicits on Hands of the High Templar. In order to answer this I wrote a simple python script to run 100,000 simulations and plot the results. The basic premise is there is a 1/4 chance to add an implicit, 1/4 chance to add a white socket, 1/4 chance to do nothing, and 1/4 chance to brick the gloves. The plot is basic histogram where the bars are color divided into 25% of sample size chunks. X axis is number of attempts, Y Axis is number of samples that achieved 5 implicit at that at that number of attempts. Interesting Findings
Script is easy to tweak. Please feel free to copy it and mess with it and post more comments about what you find. [link] [comments]
