My Hello to the Community (I Have Autism) Posted: 24 Jan 2020 09:23 AM PST Hello everyone in the Path of Exile Community. I would like to extend a very warm happy welcome to every new player in this community as well as returning players. A little bit about myself: Hello, my name is Brandon, I am 22 years old and I have autism and cerebral palsy, as well as many other disabilities. I was born at a whopping 1 lb and 8 oz. at 23 weeks. The doctors said I had less than a 2% chance to survive and even less for being able to function in a verbal state or just not being a vegetable. Here I am defying all the odds to this day. I am also 50% blind in both my eyes and having to type all this so far is hurting my finger joints, but moving on. I want to extend my thanks to everyone at GGG for developing this game, of which I have played since 2011 or 2012 over the course of 10k+ hours. I would love to give back to the people and the community that has given me so much. Just recently I wound up in the hospital with a concussion after smashing my head twice, once on the wall, and once on the way down when I crashed into the tile floor. I blacked out too. Took me a second to realize what had happened. I have a history of falling due to very weak muscles because of my cerebral palsy. But enough about me. I want to talk to all of you lovely people. Anyone here that is new or that is returning, anyone that needs a helping hand, please, feel free and add me on discord at HoldMyGame#2840 I am always happy to help, I know just about every unique item as it drops, I can give mechanical information and some cool tips and tricks, and much much more. Hope to see you all in Wraeclast, fellow exiles! [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jan 2020 11:56 PM PST There's theories floating around that the 1 monster remaining in the Elder Arena is Zana and it isn't us. There's also theories that Zana might be a reincarnated Atziri or that she's doing all this for a greater purpose, driving people insane. However, there's a small thing here: If any of the "Zana is evil" theories were true, there's one thing that directly contradicts them all: Here's the thing - Out of all people, she knows the intricacies and all the secrets the Atlas holds within and she's the most aware out of everybody of the dangers she poses on the minds of people. She tells us to GTFO out of there before we go insane as well. So I was curious about the Zana is the monster thing and apparently, it is true. I've ran multiple Zana missions and I made 100% sure that I wipe them clean. There's always 1 monster remaining in the Zana maps, I've done over 100. of these. I'm 99% sure it's her, bar the 1% chance of human error just to be sure. So why would she be the monster? Logically, she shouldn't be - she's human and makes mistakes, she sacrificed enough already as is just trying to stop the Elder which IMO was 100% justified and reasonable. You don't get to choose when the world risks to end. Here's the kicker, though. We take the monsters remaining for granted as being 100% true, but what if it isn't? So my theory kicks in here: In a 4th wall break, the Atlas is feeding us false information so that we want to kill Zana and get rid of the Atlas' main threat to its food source: Us. The "1 monster remaining." is the Atlas whispering to our exile. If what Zana tells about us about the Atlas is true, then the Atlas is basically a large trap designed to lure people in and feed upon them to sustain itself and before that, to sustain the Elder. Zana is a direct threat to the Atlas because she knows how to seal it, she knows how to manipulate it and how to travel within. She has all this because of her experience with the Shaper and the Elder and she's the #1 threat to the Atlas' existence. Destiny has a similar writing style with The Nine and this is what kind of rubbed this idea in my face. They already broke the 4th wall with the Conquerors and it's definitely possible that they will do it again. [link] [comments]

Farming Oni-Goroshi in Gucci Hobo Guide Posted: 24 Jan 2020 10:23 AM PST With the upcoming Gucci Hobo league by u/slipperyjim8, I wanted to post how I farmed an Oni-Goroshi the last Gucci Hobo league. Some of this info is obvious and/or already mentioned somewhere else, but I just wanted to put it all together for anyone thinking of punching their way to an Oni later today. The first thing to note is that all of the starting skills for the different classes require a weapon EXCEPT for the Witch. This means that all you need is a blue socket to start using Fireball. So even though the Witch has the lowest base punch dps, she is the best choice for farming Oni. Also, her skill tree has Energy Shield which is great for kiting Uber Hillock's adds. There are 16 uniques that can drop while farming for an Oni. 13 of these you would just equip and keep farming:
The other three are Ezomyte Peak, Sadima's Touch, and Tabula Rasa. Ezomyte Peak is mostly good except for against Uber Hillock where we need to evade, so take it off for that fight. Sadima's Touch just cannot be equipped and is a dud. Finally, if a Tabula Rasa drops you should probably stop farming Oni unless you are dead set on doing melee. To get started, you should create 4 Witches for your rotation. I made 3 last time and did have a couple times where I ran them too quickly and wound up making a fourth. Have each character full clear the zone each run until you reach level 7. At this point you should run straight to Hillock each run and kill him. Repeat until Uber Hillock spawns. You'll know because he has the Oni sticking out of him instead of the usual dull looking sword he uses. The adds he spawns move a lot faster than Uber Hillock and can be kited while leaving him offscreen. The way I did this was to full clear the area the moment I saw it was Uber Hillock. Then kite him down to the "lower" section of the zone, but still a couple screens away from the start. Fight him point blank to prevent the leap slam for as long as you can. When he does leap slam, kite the zombies all the way to the entrance to lioneye's watch and suicide. Then simply walk back to Uber Hillock and continue fighting him without adds. Depending on what uniques you have you could wait until a second group of adds spawn before kiting them away. Unfortunately for me, the character I had him spawn on did not have a weapon OR a blue socket, so I punched him to death. It took just under 2 hours and might have been quicker to just skip him and get him to spawn for one of the other characters.
Finally, is it worth it? If you want to do melee and not be a slave to RNG, then most likely. An Oni with a grab-bag of random uniques can carry you to maps. With the Chieftain ascendancy, you should be able to do yellow maps. Once you get a couple other good uniques, this becomes a decent end-game build. [link] [comments]

There's a difference between QoL changes and changes to the core game Posted: 24 Jan 2020 06:20 AM PST It seems like people have been tossing "QoL" around a lot in posts and comments about things they would like to see added or changed about the game. I think this is a good thing, as quality of life changes are almost always positive and well received. However, I think there are a lot of vocal people out there who think the drastic changes they would want to see in the game are as obvious and trivial as a small QoL improvement and they are not. In the past few years we have seen numerous QoL changes: improving melee skills, improving loot highlighting and minimap marking, adding information to various tool tips, improving UI features, and others. Additionally, I think GGG is incredibly receptive and prompt about fixing bugs and problems in the game, so a big thank you to them for that. It's when I see people suggesting changes to trading, balancing skills, the complexity of systems, or RNG, under the guise of QoL that I get worried. If you think the game should have an in-game auction house or PathofBuilding tool, or that lab enchants need to be easier to obtain, or certain bosses aren't spawning as often as you would like, or that certain content isn't available to you because of the amount you play or the build you chose, that isn't QoL. You're asking for the game to be easier/faster/less punishing for you. And this isn't a bad thing, and people should probably keep posting about these things. It does help to see where places in the game might be too frustrating or punishing. But changes that make the game faster or easier are not QoL, rather, they're the type of changes that have killed or diminished a lot of the games I've loved over the years and I don't want to see it happen to PoE. SlipperyJim's Gucci Hobo Private League [SSF Metamorph] [Now With MTX Rewards] Posted: 23 Jan 2020 08:53 PM PST Hey I'm doing a 'Gucci Hobo' private league. Which is a uniques only challenge. Were doing SSF Metamorph. The idea is to see how far you can push your character with the ruleset of only being able to equip unique items and jewels. Flasks can be any rarity. https://www.pathofexile.com/private-leagues/league/Slippery+Gucci+League Were doing MTX rewards for the racers and a support pack reward for the scrubs. Peacock pets will be rewarded to the first person to kill Uber Elder, Uber Atziri, lvl 8 Sirus, and the first person to get to 1000 depth in delve and a level 100 character. The supporter pack reward is a little harder to explain, basically make a build guide for whatever build you end up doing in hobo. Explain how you made it work with uniques only, how you got the items in ssf, bonus points for it not being a meta zombie build etc. We'll pick a winner from the top 10. So you don't necessarily have to be fast to win the top reward. We have a channel in my discord up for chatting and FAQ etc. If you have any questions feel free to ask here or in Discord. All this in video form but less structure: As a side note make sure your profile is public, otherwise you'll be auto flagged as a cheater in our script [link] [comments]
