Can we please get streak protection for the conqueror spawns? Posted: 25 Jan 2020 06:19 AM PST I just went 22 maps in a row without influence proccing. 22 maps. It's ridiculous and the fix is so bloody simple. In case you are unaware streak protection, sometimes called bad luck protection, is something used in random systems to prevent long strings of bad luck that are just unfun. Basically it works like that, if you have a 30% chance for something to happen each time you do something, you add x% everytime it doesn't happen, until it does, and then you reset it back to base. So for example if you wanted to spawn say the Hunter you've got a 30% chance on the first map, 31% on the second map, 32% on the third, etc. Until you reach 100%. Now obviously the numbers would be something that GGG would sort out on their end, but damn it really kills my enjoyment when I have to burn hundreds of maps just to get to the part of the game I enjoy (bossing!) The Chaos Report - Metamorph Week 4+5: Passive Income || [TEXT VERSION RELEASE] Posted: 25 Jan 2020 05:32 AM PST DISCLAIMER: As 3.9 is not just a simple challenge league, the Chaos Reports for this league will likely be a bit longer, due to the necessity to explain the new mechanics, such as the new atlas, in-depth. Please do be aware that these text-based posts will always be slightly late and as such might be a bit outdated (though I attempt to update values, such as current prices for items, etc.), as they are from 2-3 days ago. Creating the Chaos Report, as a video, takes about 10 hours of work from research, script writing to editing and releasing it. These text posts take another 2-3 hours of time, as I need to pack all the information into equally as understandable bits as the video, which means I cannot release them simultaneously, as my schedule simply doesn't allow this amount of work in 1-2 days and any further increase in the development schedule would make the information be more outdated than I'm willing to risk. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, but I hope that this will still provide the desired information for everyone! END OF DISCLAIMER Links to various stuff: Hello everyone, LunaWolve here. Welcome to the Week 4+5 TEXT VERSION episode of The Chaos Report for 3.9 and the Metamorph challenge league! Do keep in mind that these are educated guesses or predictions and as such they might not be entirely accurate. SEGMENT 1: CURRENCIES & COMMODITIES Exalted Orbs are first, as always. The OG exalted orb, has followed our predictions from the video episode pretty accurately and found itself in a downward trend at a current ~150c pricepoint. I mentioned that there was a decent possibility it would continue it's rise towards the high-150c area, which has indeed happened and even exceeded my expectations, as it managed to climb to a high-point of about ~167c on thursday, but has already begun dropping of again. While those drops and rises are artificial, as I mentioned in the video, they always occur around the same time and in the same manner, often times including such a period of over-shooting it's target on the spike. Normally the period of stability around the initial spike lasts about 6 days at least, to around 2-3 weeks. This time around it immediately began it's second spike after 6 days, which is on the very low-end of the common exalted spectrum. They're likely to continue falling, as they're heavily inflated by artificial means and not be sheer player demand. Certain player groups use exalted orbs to effectively control the markets, as the prices of exalted orbs directly affect ever other item in the game above a certain pricepoint. As a result, this drop will likely continue until they reach a more "natural" pricepoint, if we can trust previous league's data. A natural pricepoint for this league is hard to pinpoint, due to all the difficulties mentioned in the previous episodes as well, but I'd assume around 120-150c would be the range you could expect. But of course, as always, make sure to check those prices on the daily, as I can't possibly give you 100% accurate predictions for them via a 1-per week video series. The Hunter's Exalted Orb has continued to be the most expensive one of all the new orbs. It is currently sitting at around 349c, after a rather drastic spike in the middle of last week. Still the most popular orb for crafting high-ticket items, due to the hunter's inherent modpool being EXTREMELY worthwhile for most, if not all, item classes in the game, it's continued to hold it's high value throughout the turbulent last weeks. They've already begun their way back towards the previous prices, as the sudden spike was caused by the OG exalted price rise, as mentioned in the previous segment. They're projected to continue falling until they hit their pre-spike prices of about ~330c. As such, keep an eye on the prices and make sure to double-check them before you buy or sell any of those orbs. The Awakener Orb is currently sitting at around 200c and has seen a rather consistent downwards trend, as predicted in the video release. They are still extremely powerful and popular for crafting, but with the recent 3.9.2 patch the amount of supply has increased drastically, due to the Sirus bossfight becoming an absolute joke in terms of difficulty. Pretty much everyone can now easily aquire them, so the potential for the prices to stay high has diminished as a result. Players are still able to spam white-maps to rapidly run boss encounters in quick succession, which further exasperates the problem. Until that is fixed, we are unlikely to see them ascend to extreme heights in terms of prices. As such, keep an eye on any potential future patch notes and if it seems like the white-map strat is going to be fixed, bulk up. Until then, procceed as normal and expect them to slowly dip, as the oversupply will gets worse and worse. Crusader's and Warlord's Exalted Orbs have also seen a similar price graphs to the hunter's orb and are now at 227c and 293c respectively. The Warlord's orb is currently on a downwards trend towards the ~250c range. It is likely that it will continue to trend towards the prices of the Warlord's orb in the near future. The Crusader's orb has remained rather steady at it's pricepoint around 210-230c, has slightly dropped bit by bit over the last few days, however. It's projected to continue it's slow price dip, but overall remain steady in the following week, barring any unforseen circumstances. Lastly, the Redeemer's Exalted Orb. It also has seen a similar graph to the previous two orbs, with a large rise at around the middle of last week, with a slight dip in the past day or two. It has found itself currently at ~303c, but is projected to continue it's fall, much like the other orbs as well. The mods for the redeemer have slowly found more and more uses, as the awakener orb has become more easily to aquire for most players. The redeemer doesn't have item-defining mods, like the hunter does for example, but it has amazing auxilary mods which are great for accentuating double-influence items. As a result, they've seen a general increase in popularity and will likely remain as a solid secondary influence option for the remainder of the league and are not dropping as fast as most of the other orbs as a result, as some parts of their price-spike is due to natural circumstances. As always, if you intend on buying any of these orbs just covered, make sure to keep an eye on this EXTREMELY volatile market space and rank them in your order so you know which is the best bang for your buck. Alteration Orbs have also seen a DRASTIC increase in prices. They've shot up to a ratio of 1:5.6. They are currently in the middle of their spike, so it's hard to say when they will stop. However, we have never seen prices for them above the 1:3.7 mark we've reached in legion. As such, assume that this will be their absolute maximum value, if it comes to that point. Alteration Orbs have seen a general decrease in their use cases since last league, due to the nerf of multimods and as such, have lost a bit of their overall use-value. However, the new exalted orbs are shoring up some of that deficit, as is clearly visible by the similar spike in prices. They are inherently linked with the new orbs and as such, should be treated as an extension of them, rather than their own unique currency, if you want to properly make use of them. If the exalted orbs drop in prices, except to be able to bulk up on alteration orbs as well. If they rise, don't expect to be able to get alterations for cheap either. As a result of that, assume that alteration orbs are going to fall soon, as all the new orbs are in a dip following their spike. The Ancient Orbs are last on our list, as per usual. They have seen a rather timid increase, comperatively to the video release and are currently sitting at around 70c after their turbulent past week. The rapid rise was very likely caused by the exalted orbs gaining a massive price increase, which resulted in the headhunter, which is always priced in exalted orbs, to also gain a massive amount of chaos value. This ultimately results in ancient orbs also seeing an equally large rise, as they're directly bound to the chaos equivalent prices of the headhunter. They are bound to return to a lower pricepoint in the coming days, as the headhunter's exalted orb prices are slowly adjusting back downwards, meaning the chaos to ancient ratio will also fall over time. Despite that, they have only risen a small amount, even though the exalted orbs have risen a tremendous amount over these past few days. This is likely due to the ancient orbs having been heavily overpriced during these past weeks and people paying upwards of 30k chaos to statistically chance a headhunter (1/500 chance). With the current exalted prices, their actual prices reflect the headhunter:chaos:ancient ration a lot better than before. I'd recommend dumping your stock, if you still have any while they're still worth this much, as it's very unlikely we'll see another major increase in their prices, until the last few weeks of the league.
Shaper Fragments range from 30-49c, meaning that one shaper set will net you around 150-200c, at average. This is pretty much the exact same price as during the last episode, plus minus a bit. On the other hand however, the fragments DROPPED by the shaper, which unlock uber elder, have increased to a 165-183c pricepoint. This means that for simply beating the shaper and having a chance for any of his drops, you're basically paying nothing, as the uber elder fragment will recoup the entire cost of the shaper fragments already. As a result, farming shaper for some his drops or his hideout could be extremely profitable at the current moment, as it's basically pure-profit on every single run. The Uber Elder Fragments provided by shaper are sitting at around 165-183c each, while the ones provided by elder are sitting at around 25-28c. That means one uber elder set will cost you about 400c at average. This extremely high entry price has lead to similarly high prices on most 3-mod watcher's eyes. Especially the good ones are EXTREMELY pricey this league, much more so than usual. The other uber elder uniques have dropped in prices over time and it's hard to really turn a profit with Uber Elder runs anymore, unless you rely on getting a decent 3-mod watcher's eye every once in a while. This results in my recommendation to stay away from uber elder as a farming method. Look for other ways to make currency instead. The Elder Fragments are sitting at around 21-40c each, meaning that one set will cost you around 120-140c, which is pretty much the same as during the last episode. Same recommendation as last episode too, i'd still run your own elder sets and sell the resulting items to other players. Some of the unique items are worth quite a bit and especially Watcher's Eyes are in high demand as mentioned earlier. The uber elder fragments aren't really worth a lot, but they can recoup one or two of the fragments needed to run elder, so the actual cost of running an elder goes down to below 100c. I'd expect them to stick around this pricepoint, just like they have been for in the past 4 weeks. Lastly, the Synthesis Unique Maps are all sitting around 44-56c right now. The Cortex on the other hand has risen to a 376c pricepoint as a result of the general increase in exalted orb value. As explained on some of the items earlier, this is due to the fact that the cortex is priced in exalted orbs, so the chaos equivalent prices will rise, if the exalted orb gains value. Same recommendation as always, the maps overall are very worth it to run yourself, if you're keen on gambling, as the synthesis modifiers, provided by the maps, can be real hit-or-miss. Especially the herald rings, which drop from the bosses quite often, net upwards of a few exalted orbs in prices, with the right combinations and implicits. The prices for the cortex will likely continue to fluctuating around the area it's sitting at right now, with a potential slight rise in the next following days. The prices for the synthesis maps in general will likely slowly decline, on the other hand, once currencies stabilise themselves. SEGMENT 2: UNIQUE ITEM WATCHLIST The Double Socketed Tombfists are up first. The Tombfists have recovered from their price drop we covered in the last episode, and have returned to a 240c pricepoint. Comperatively to last league however, they are nowhere near the prices they should be this late into a league. This is very likely due to the addition of the new influence mod pools and awakened support gems, which all offer great alternatives for the tombfists abilities. As a result, the demand for them is vastly lower compared to last league. They are likely going to stick around the 150-200c pricepoint for now, but might see a dip in the near future. The Voidflechter* is up next on the list. The quiver has seen extremely turbulent prices in the past weeks and has followed our prediction from the video episode to the T. It is currently sitting at 301c and is likely going to continue dropping. The quiver is still a large staple of most meta-bow builds in metamorph league, as it offers much needed single-target damage potential and flat damage to cold-based bow builds. Furtermore, the quiver is also locked behind the uber elder bossfight, which is very expensive to access, as covered in the commodity section, and as a result has a comperatively low supply count. Lastly, successfully corrupted voidfletchers are WAY more expensive than the base version of the unique. They are easily scoring prices upwards of 8ex at the current moment. It will likely continue it's price fluctuations for a while, as demand and supply is both heavily limited. The Corspri's Malice is the last unique on the list. It is currently sitting at around 4.4ex or about 661c. The overall chaos value of the sword has not changed much from the video episode, just like it did with the last exalt rise/drop. It sat at around ~686c on tuesday, when the video released, so it has lost a slight amount of value over those days, but has mostly stayed the same. The sword is extremely popular at the moment, as more and more players are switching their miners over to Cast on Crit Assassin builds, with their increased budget and resulting power. This will give the Cospri's malice a certain degree of stability in it's pricing for the next little while, so don't expect any large price changes outside of the current 10-20c fluctuations. SEGMENT 3: META & ATLAS ANALYSIS Since last episode, the ladder has progressed to the level 96 to 100 area, which means that the vast majority of builds is no longer represented on it. As a result, it will be impossible to properly look at and predict the meta for the remainder of the league, outside of extrapolating the top-builds towards the lower-level ranges and guesstimating. Consider this your warning, as information presented here will only be a partial truth. Necromancers are still sitting at a 29% playrate, which is exactly where they were last episode. The Saboteurs on the other hand have dropped off from an 11% playrate down to 7%. The missing percentages have been distributed towards the guardian and assassin ascendancy, which are sitting at 9% and 13% respectively. As mentioned with the last episode, a lot of players have opted into the easy-way-out, namely, summoner builds, to deal with the high difficulty of this league + expansion combo. Furthermore, assassins have gained a large amount of popularity due to the easily accessible power of cast on crit builds, especially using cospri's malice and a cyclone setup. One last thing of note, is that for the first time since the start of the league, Raise Zombies has been overtaken by another skill. Cyclone is the new king of the meta, primarily being used for the previously mentioned Cast of Crit setups, but it's also a popular choice for herald of agony builds and melee-impale builds as well. With those parts covered, the crafting recommendations continue to fall towards summoner gear, as well as Assassin-focused gear for cold-focused cast on crit builds. Especially valuable for those assassin builds are rings with "Assassin's Mark" as they heavily increase the amount of damage that will be dealt through the CoC setup. As for the Atlas Analysis, there's not much to talk about anymore. I've covered the atlas in 2 of the previous 4 episodes. As a consequence, please feel free to check out the previous videos or text releases for your atlas guide needs. One thing of note, that might not be used or be known to all, is that white maps are still extremely useful for speed-spawning the exiles and the awakener boss fight. Many high-level players are currently resorting to speed farming the bosses for the exalted drops and the guaranteed high-level bases that they inevitably drop as well. To use this method, simply spawn an influence in any sector and then run a white-version of any of the given maps in the sector. Simply run towards the first 4-5 packs, nuke them and if the exile has not shown up by then, simply leave the map and open a new one. This is similar to the glacier farming back in legion, so it requires a decent map pool to do consistently, but you only need ANY given white map in the sector, instead of one specific one. This might be fixed in a future update, but until it is, this is by far the best money making strategy if it comes to the new atlas and it's maps or bosses specifically. Some players can spawn an awakener bossfight once every 20 minutes, which means they can drop something valuable from him, like the saviour which seems to have about a 1/100 droprate, once every 33 hours of playtime at average, while players that are not abusing this flaw in the mapping system will likely never be able to aquire one this league, outside of a lucky drop. SEGMENT 5: STRATEGY & DISCUSSION
There's about 4 main ways to make passive currency in the current league:
Before we jump into any of them, a quick note on what "Passive Income" actually means. This is income, where you do NOT actively make the choice to engage with it for a long time, but rather set it up once and reap the benefits at a later time. This makes the income passive, unlike something akin to delve, where you actively go into the mine to make a profit, for example. Now let's get into it. The first and most commonly forgotten about way to make passive currency, is to level up gems in your off-hand weapons. For the new players, you actually have 2 different weapon-sets available to you. You can access the off-hand weapon set by clicking the tiny roman-style 2 in your character screen. This will instantly switch out your main and off-hand weapons with a second set that is placed in there. The important here, is that whatever gems are inside of those weapons when you swap them, will STILL gain experience, even if you aren't actively using the weapon set itself. As a result, you can simply offload 6 gems that you want to level into them, switch to your main weapon set and forget about them until they reach max-level. Afterwards, you can take them out, either sell them each with 1 gemcutters prism to get them back down to level 1 with 20% quality and re-do the process, immediately sell them to other players or attempt to vaal them to gain a +1 corruption. This method of passive currency gain is extremely worthwhile with the "Enlighten" support gem, which starts out at level 1 and can reach a maximum level of 3 by natural means. Vaaling can get it up to level 4 and those specific level 4 enlightens are worth around 7 exalted orbs. This can also be used to 20/20 your own gems, that you use for your own build. This will save you a decent chunk of currency in the long run, as you'll be gaining the experience for them either way, you might as well level up your and quality your own gems, while you're at it, through the previously mentioned vendor recipe. The second method is prophecies. A lot of players, even veterans, HEAVILY understimate how valuable it can be to simply make sure that your prophecy wheel is always filled up. Many prophecies in the game are worth a decent chunk of chaos. While only very few are worth multiple exalted orbs, they also don't really cost anything to set up in the first place. Simply talk to Navali and ask her to join your hideout, place her close to your stash and map device and re-up your prophecies inbetween each map you run. This will make sure that you'll continously cycle through the prophecies, which will also benefit your overall currency/hour gain, due to increased quantity from some of them. Once you land on one of the prophecies that are worth something, simply seal them away and sell them to other players. It is definitely worth buying a ton of silver coins in bulk, so you don't run out and you're continously able to cycle. To check which prophecies are worth keeping, simply take a look at the top 15-20 on the poe.ninja list and remember their names, the rest can just be used as additional quantity of your own maps. The third method is map returns. This is a bit of an odd one, as you are actively engaging with maps to GET map returns, but I count it as passive income, as most of the time, the map returns will not be considered by most players, as the primary objective. All the items you gain from a map, count towards your overall wealth. Whether it be fragments, map drops, currency drops or items. A ton of those returns will simply get thrown into random tabs and forgotten about, especially the map tab is the worst offender for that behavior. In order to maximize the passive income this can generate, set up a few 5-10c dump tabs, where you can quickly dump the unwanted items into, instead of having them disappear into your stash forever. Make sure to not set your minimum dump tab to something you actually would leave a map for however, as otherwise you won't gain any benefit from it and you'll make trade even more miserable for others. Don't forget to clear out this tab every once in a while, if stuff stops selling. Simply grab all the things that didn't sell and throw 'em into their repective collection tabs after a while, to free up space for new passive income to accumilate. Many players simply forget that these items exist once they leave their inventory, so they don't actually realise on how much wealth they are sitting, simply because they never bothered to conver them into actual useable currency in the first place. This basic system will ensure that you will gain some additional income while you're mapping. Don't be afraid to undersell some of those maps, fragments or items, that you'd normally never use or sell to begin with. Every single item you sell that way would have just landed in the infinite depths of your stash anyway, so don't try to squeeze every last little bit of chaos out of every single one of the item. A quick dump-sell here, is a lot better than a slow trickle of income. The last method is master missions. While this is not exactly a secret, master missions are extremely worthwhile. And that does not just include Zana, Jun and Niko, of course. Einhar and Alva are two heavily underused masters and as a result, many players will likely have saved up an absolute ton of them. You can and should absolutely monetize those saved up master missions. Especially alva's temple can offer some very nice extra income, through the corruption chamber and decent temple-items from the omnitech. The new exalted orbs have given the temple-items a whole new breath of life, when it comes to their value in the current economy. So don't leave them on the floor. Identify them for some mods, such as Energy Shield, Mana, Conversion etc. as some of the new influence mods can actually stack with those temple mods and create some absolutely nasty items as a result. As such, make sure to use your stored up master missions and potentially offer to sell them to other players. Einhar is another example of a master that doesn't get used by a lot of players, even tho many would pay a pretty price for it. As to what price people are willing to pay, you'll just have to offer and see if anyone wants to buy them. I'd recommend offering to sell them in bulk, for example, 10 einhar red tier missions in a row. That way, you can ask for group-prices and make a decent amount of currency in a short while. You could easily ask for 20-30c per person in such a master mission sale. For alva, you want to prepare the temple beforehand and sell the corruption chamber and t3 sacrifice uses to other players. I've seen them be sold for around 100c to an exalted orb each before, but prices will vary based on time and day, as well as availability. There are of course other methods of passive income, such as selling items, preparing crafts, etc. but we won't be covering those today, as they don't quite fit the theme of "new player income" i was trying to convey in this episode. We might cover them in an upcoming episode and give some advice on how to make those other methods work for you the best. This concludes the basic rundown of the passive currency income. I hope this was informative and you will be able to take advantage of some of them, if you are in need of currency. They can not just be used this league, but pretty much all the methods mentioned will be able to be used in future leagues as well. If there are any questions left about the passive income, feel free to leave a comment down below, I'll try to answer them as soon as possible. Additionally, if you have something you'd like me to cover on next week's strategy/discussion segment, feel free to leave it in the comments down below as well. This can range from anything, data related, over strategy research to simply statistical breakdowns of certain metas or items. I'll try my best to oblige any requests. Otherwise I'll simply be covering whatever comes up in the meantime in next week's episode. SEGMENT 6: DELVE UPDATE + RAPIDFIRE TIPS & TRICKS The Weekly Delve Update Comperatively to last episode, we have only seen slight changes for the fossil prices.
My recommendations however, have shifted due to the overall price differences in fossils. I now recommend the Frozen Hollows as the #1 farming area, especially due to their farming simplicity, as the fractured walls are easy to find and they drop a ton of Pristine/Pristmatic combos in addition to the very expensive serrated fossils. My second recommendation would be the Magma Fissure, as it's equally as easy to traverse as the frozen hollow and offers a great selection of fossils, including Pristine, Prismatic and Enchanted fossils. The current prices for this week's top fossils are as follows:
Happy fossil hunting and good luck in your delves!
As mentioned in the last episode as well, these are still extremely profitable. Simply buy a ton of them and run them whenver you find the time to AFK in a map. Their returns are absolutely bonkers through the awakening level 8 bonuses and are definitely worth the 5 minutes spent on each map. I'd mostly recommend white or low-yellow blighted maps, as they are the cheapest, but you can also still turn a major profit on the high-level red ones. It all just depends on your own starting budget. I recommend 20%ing your blighted maps, annointing them with 3 teal oils and then throwing them into the map device as a white map. The extra quantity added by alching them is not usually worth the risk of bricking the map as a direct result of the mods added.
It is now about 5 weeks into this league, which means everyone should have reached red maps by now, or at least should have done a lot of mapping. During your maps you've probably encountered Einhar a lot and haven't really thought about it. Make sure to open your bestiary recipe list and see what kind of beasts you have captured in your time mapping. Some of them are extremely worthwhile to sell to other players, while also not being too incredibly rare. Simply go to poe.ninja and check which beasts are worth a decent amount. You can seal them using a bestiary orb, which you can buy from einhar in the menagerie itself.
Same recommendation as the last 2 episodes, but it really is worthwhile, if you've been delving a lot. Simply talk to Niko in the delve area and buy his resonators. The current best azurite/chaos ratio is the primitive chaotic resonator. You can translate 300 azurite into 2c by buying these and selling them to other players. You can increase this profit margin further, by selling them in bulk, easily being able to ask for 3-4c a piece, if you've got a decent sized stack to offer. PoE and video game addiction - my own experience and brief summary of it's destructive effects Posted: 25 Jan 2020 07:10 AM PST Before i start to elaborate there's one thing i have to clarify - english is not my native language, so I'd like to apologize in advance if something is not perfectly clear or grammatically correct. Secondly i will post a tl'dr version down here, just in case some ppl don't complain i posted such a boring wall of text :P Thirdly - some folks might heavily disagree with me, but remember it's MY own experience, i'm writing this post right now just to warn other people and present a different point of view. Remember! There are always two sides to every coin... With that being said I want to present my own story related to (mainly) Path of exile gaming addiction (but not only! other games have also caused similar effects, but nothing comes close to PoE at this point). Who Am I? I have 29 years, almost 30 i live in Europe and never would have i thought that stuff like online games could have such a destructive effect upon my own life. I have been addicted to online gaming for as long as i can really remember. I received my first PC at the age of 13 and immediatelly it started to fill a void in my life. Back then i'd still cope with it, as there were friends and kids around and there was a lot of physical activity around me...different times you might say - kids were playing football, having games around their home and generally speaking it wasn't such a big deal to play a few hours a day. Back then the internet was quite uncommon and at least in my country the gaming culture didn't arrive up until late 2010's. Slowly as the time passed, things have started to change...obviously in a negative manner. My first contact with "true" online/mmorpg games was made 12 years ago, when i was 17 years old. I was finally able to install and play World of Warcraft - the most popular and highly anticipated game of that time. It was then, when things started to get really grim for me and when i truly soaked myself into that non-existent world of neverending journey. Immediatelly my social life literally collapsed. Well to be fair i had a quite limited social life prior to that addiction, but even then - it has taken such a huge toll... I'd begin to get absolutely isolated, so much so that up until hitting 25 years, i'd not be able to get even a single friend! I'd play literally all day long, always prioritizing games more than anything else. I could honestly make a poem here and describe everything i experienced during my early 20's, but i wanted to make a post specifically about PoE itself, as we all know WoW has been around for so many years, and many memes/videos/posts already tackled that issue quite well. So after failing a lot in my real life (i mean a lot...being like 27-28 years, switching a job every 3-4 months as i was completely unable to work properly...both because of physical and mental issues caused by video games and failing to graduate my colleague like 3 or 4 times until i decided to completely give it up), i thought nothing worse could come up. Boy how wrong i really was... I first started to play Poe at the start of Delve league. Didn't really understand this game properly back then as is seemed overly complex even for me - a veteran of many ARpgs and mmons (including the likes of D2/D3/WoW/Tibia etc.). I started to play it properly a league later - in Betrayal. I did't even imagine i could get more addicted to online gaming as i was addicted back then but my Lord... Sitting 12-14 hours a day? No problem. Not only that - after i finished playing PoE for the entire day i'd STILL lurk reddit to read about items/builds/strategies/patches/advices etc. It was such a huge change compared to my previous addicitions...Back then i'd play WoW and just that. Wouldn't care about the rest and wouldn't waste my time on reading stuff about it. I'd just play it and that's it. But Poe....it's take my ENTIRE life. ENTIRE!!! It's reached such extreme cases, where i'd literally take my mobile phone outside gaming sessions and read stuff on reddit during walking/riding etc and how many times were i close to be hit by a car or bike i can't remember. I completely lost control of everything. This game became my only goal in my life and an utter obsession that i had to live by every day. After a year or so i decided to do something about it and went for a closed therapy. I'd spent 5 weeks there, hoping it'd help me..but sadly id didn't have any impact at all whatsoever. So what happened then? 2 Months have passed since i returned from my therapy and My gf (yeah i have a gf...but let's say living with an addicted person must be such a pain) finally decided to take real steps. I have been seriously threatened she'd leave me for good if i didn't change something (even though i tried but ofc i always lacked that willingness and it's really difficult to change things they've been a part of your life for over a decade). Yesterday...she discovered i was playing at 5 am and it was the most difficult moment of my life. The amount of tears, words and agony cannot be described here. I managed to get a grip and UNINSTALL this game...hopefully for good, but i fear that upcoming patches and PoE 2 will still threaten my sanity. Well here's a work i have to do folks...Taking care of my health, activities, goals and generally speaking my entire life needs to be slowly rediscovered. For now i'm feeling better, a huge burden was lift from my shoulders, but there's a lot of more work to come...Hopefully my post will inspire some people and show them that video games CAN and ARE a serious cause to many problems in XXI century. Don't take it lightly and remember it's very easy to get addicted. TL'DR - i have been addicted for over a decade to video games and they literally ruined my life, but PoE came as undisputed champion when it comes to magnitude of it's destructive toll. Just in case you guys thought the issue was fixed. Posted: 25 Jan 2020 03:00 AM PST Myself and a lot of friends are still having issues with the client closing when swapping characters. I know it isn't a big issue, but still an issue none the less. Hopefully it's fixed soon. People will end their league sooner than they otherwise would've if issues like this persist..
