[Angry Constructive Reddit Thread] Harvest is not fun. Posted: 23 Jun 2020 12:23 AM PDT There's a lot to go through so I'll start with my "player profile". I've played non-stop since harvest has launched. I'm currently at A6 and am only running t14+ now. So this is coming from a more "hardcore" perspective.
I believe almost all of these issues would be fixed by just increasing the number of seeds that drop. A great way to do this would be by making higher tier maps drop a lot more seeds. Why doesn't it scale? Why can I run a t16 map and get 4 seeds. Make higher tier maps drop more seeds, like how higer tier maps give more sulphite. Addressing point #3/4, I think increased seed drop rate might help this but it would still be kinda rough. One way to fix point #3 would be to buff the crafts. Lets go on a small tangent and look at the new currency introduced by harvest. Engineers orbs/Offerings/Winged Scarabs. It's a challenge to use all 14 of the new scarabs. It's a challenge to use all of the new offerings and use orbs. How many of these new currencies have I obtained so far? 0. I really do think that's a problem. Tangent over. I just want to address some issues that I've seen brought up in other places, such as "5/6L Seed crafts are too rare. Augment/Remove mods are too rare" I don't think this is as much of an issue. They are extremely powerful mods and if t1 seed droprate was buffed they would also be more common. Thank you for coming to my ted talk. Feel free to leave your own thoughts in the comments. I feel this league just needs more seed drops Posted: 22 Jun 2020 09:42 PM PDT I hear all the other concerns with crafting and boring rewards 99% of the time and I do agree. However 1 thing I feel should be addressed first is that we're not even getting enough seeds to sustain the mechanic. People are throwing farm layouts with 7 t1 plots when its not even easily possible to get 2 t1 plots fully filled up before harvesting. I do 1 map and I get 4 primal seeds. its a 5x5-1 area and I get 4 seeds to cover a 24 space area per map on average. And that's only 1 color. Doubling/tripling the seed drops would make this 10x more fun IMO. [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jun 2020 08:40 AM PDT We spend all last league learning to use and appreciate clusters, easily one of the best changes to the game I've experienced, and now it is so hard to make them that They are really only going to be useable by the top of players. I'm sure some of the thinking is to encourage everyone to explore the new tree, but they are build defining for so many niche builds, It needs to change. Sure make it a bit harder to roll good jewels, but don't completely keep them from a majority of the player base. I know there have been several threads about this already but they need to hear it more, or at least communicate that the message is received. Please! [link] [comments]

Why does GGG hate on duos with its league mechanics? Posted: 23 Jun 2020 04:00 AM PDT Why why why every league do you screw over duos with your mechanics? Each league the Mrs and I load up the game, hoping you've not screwed us over, only to suffer bitter disappoint. Fun facts about harvest: The person who creates the zone gets all the seeds (2nd player gets none, ever) The person who creates the zone progresses their farm (2nd player does not, and I'm not talking no seeds, I mean the progress of their currently planted seeds does not advance) Essentially as I handle maps for the two of us, she doesn't get to do any farming mechanic stuff. The best mechanics you managed for duos were Breach (share splinters), Legion (share splinters) and Deliorium (share splinters/clusters/etc). Any individual mechanic based stuff like harvest, synthesis or incursion screws over the 2nd player and its honestly bewildering, some of the fixes are so simple, and no I don't care if it would benefit 6 players too much, they're an obscenely small niche section of the PoE playerbase. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky the mechanic as ass at endgame and we can just drop the league and hope you get it right next time. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Jun 2020 11:49 PM PDT So I've Had a few friends come back to the game, we binge the shit out leveling, and by saturday we're all mapping (we mostly play solo in PoE). And from my experience viewing their experience, for a new player, it is just an absolute cluster fuck. The game doesn't give you any sort of strategy or explain what you're supposed to be doing in order to progress your atlas. YES it says "have x watchstones to spawn x conqueror" BUT you need THOSE maps of THAT watchstone tier to spawn it, and considering that a zone can have 0-4 watchstones, i can understand that from a new players perspective, it's just confusing. I'm just going to leave it at that, I'm not going to type out my opinion on the new atlas, because it's not relevant to my post, though i feel like i should mention it b\c I'm sure someone is going to swing in with a 3 hour long zizaran youtube video guide on how to progress your atlas. The point was just that the atlas is convoluted and isn't intuitive and I think the game should do a better job and telling you what to do. [link] [comments]
Can we get an official response about WoC + Arcanist Brand? Posted: 23 Jun 2020 06:53 AM PDT After seeing Mathil's video on it and seeing the ridiculous damage its outputting as well as other's videos showcasing its power, it does seem to be either bugged/unintended. I want to try making an inq/heiro to try it out myself but if GGG are going to nerf/fix it soon then it'd be a big waste of time. In case anyone reading this post hasn't seen the video I'll leave a link. https://youtu.be/2L5TQfxiZ38?t=209 [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jun 2020 12:55 AM PDT Maps are empty. I mean maybe delirium was a bit of an overkill, but this league is honestly kind of boring because there is barely anything to kill. Im playing standard it feels like. Have the chest be guarded by monsters or something [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jun 2020 08:46 AM PDT Harvest league didn't do it for me and I think the reasons are simple. 1) No additional monsters in maps The easiest fix I can think of is to make the player work for the seeds. Instead of opening the pod and getting seeds, what if we interact with the pod and it spawns corrupted monsters that must be killed to drops seeds (think strongbox) and...wait for it... LOOT!
Thoughts? [link] [comments]

Tier 2 seeds drop is too low for casuals Posted: 22 Jun 2020 10:10 PM PDT I would like to first mention, that I am quite a casual PoE player. That means, finding builds online to enjoy PoE for a while (mostly first 2 weeks of new leagues) and playing for +/- 100 hours each league. In most leagues, I am able to beat end game bosses at least once. But now, we have Harvest... To plant my whole one color garden (I have 3 field of each color for T1 seeds), I need 75 seeds, from my experience, that is around 20 maps. Then I need around 5 cycles to harvest. And now the fun part... Yesterday I have planted in total 375 seeds... And I got whole 4 T2 seeds... With this speed, I will be able to row full 25 seeds T2 field in 2 250 T1 seeds, that means +/- 200 maps... Each map is for me +/- 5 minutes (sorting items from time to time and farming inlcuded). So one T2 field will be in 1 000 minutes of only mapping... In my average PoE league play time, I will do that only 6 times!!! That means I won't be even able to plant ONE T3 field, not even mentioning T4 and seeing an endgame league boss... TL:DR - I am not expecting to see endgame boss this league as a casual player. Higher tier seed drops are too low. [link] [comments]
PSA: You can use the more common reroll craft as a targeted exalt Posted: 22 Jun 2020 06:30 PM PDT This is a nice crafting trick you can do with the harvest craft that removes a mod of X type and adds another mod of that type. Example: You have boots with two open Suffixes. You have "Remove a Cold mod add a Cold mod". You can craft Cold Resistance and then use the Harvest craft to remove the crafted mod and replace it with regular Cold Resistance, leaving a slot open for another Resistance craft.
