It is a money grab by GGG - change my mind

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 12:29 AM PDT

GGG - Please don't wait until mid league to balance Harvest. We need more league interaction NOW!

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:45 AM PDT

I'm not even level 90 yet and I'm already getting bored. League mechanic is only engaged once every several maps as of yet, which is a far call from the previous league mechanics.

So basically you play standard league for 5-7 maps, then 1 minute interaction while you chaos spam an item and hope for the best.

Is this REALLY intended? Change something before players drop out like flies because I really do want to have fun this league now instead of searching for another game to play.

Thread for those who just play the game and have fun anyways

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:40 AM PDT

I'm just here to say I enjoy this game. I don't get caught up in the drama. Some leagues I have more fun than others. Some leagues I have less fun that others.

I suspect this is the overwhelming majority of players feelings towards the company. The vocal minority on this subreddit honestly feels pretty toxic most of the time.

I don't really care who sees this or agrees. I just hope someone who makes this game sees that I appreciate it. It's been good, I'll keep playing casually and buy the occasional thing. I'll also play path of exile 2 when it comes out too, and I'll occasionally buy things in it too.

I think people's main issue here in this subreddit is that Path of Exile dominates their life, instead of their life being 90% of what they do and path of exile being 10% of what they do. If you played and cared a little less and invested in other things you may be a little more happy with the state of the game. Just my $0.02 🤷🏼‍♂️

[Disappointed Reddit Thread] These tabs and the way the situation is being handled is making me sad

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 01:11 AM PDT

Dear GGG, dear Community - no matter where you stand on this topic, dear Mods - have mercy on mine arse for it is muscular and golden.

The subreddit is in uproar, rightfully so. The way these tabs have been designed, the community response, and GGG's response have been less than stellar.

Aside from these tabs solving QOL issues we have been asking for for months, they did so in the worst possible way. At Exilecon, Mr. Wilson stated that they would not make us buy a ton of new currency tabs, yet here we are, it has happened. Chris has lied to us - and it hurts.

The Blight tab is imho the worst offender. Blight maps are not searchable in the map tab, oils clog up our stashes - that was the complaint. The obvious solution would have been to implement oils into the currency tab, and make blight maps searchable or separate in the map tab.
Instead we got an extra tab for Oils and Blight maps. A tab nobody asked for, that seems like it was solely made to pull more money from us.

The Metamorph tab is ... just unnecessary. It fills no purpose, as metamorph parts do not swamp us anymore, like in metamorph league, and even back then a single standard tab was enough to organize them. But they contain the Catalysts, again, a type of currency we complained clogs up our tabs. Where should it have gone? The currency tab. They should have gone to the currency tab. Not in their own tab. Again, it feels like it was solely made to pull money from us.

The Delirium Tab is maybe the only tab i can somewhat understand. There is lots of orbs (that could have gone into the currency tab, but lets ignore that for now), and the... splinters? That for some reason did not get added to the other splinters in the fragment tab? But the Fragment tab holds the Scarabs because.... what? The better solution would have been to make a scarab tab, and implement delirium orbs and splinters into the fragment tab, but i guess that wasn't possible as the scarabs were already a part of the fragment tab (ironically, so we didn't need to buy more tabs. Good old days)

Then we get an announcement of QoL changes that we all have been asking for for years. And we get told that they might come. Or not, because hey, we are just trying to calm the shitstorm. But the announcement does nothing to address the actual problem: These tabs are unneeded and should have just been integrated into the existing tabs.

Here is my issue: This is not the GGG i bought supporter packs from. I am unable to work because of my health, i live off of government support. Every Supporter pack i buy means months of saving up for me. Yet i still bought them, because i believed in this company and what they are doing. I believed in GGG making a great game, and deserving support and recognition for that. But this is not the company i supported. This is a company that ignores promises made to make a quick buck. And it's sad. I am deeply disappointed, and i do feel as if the money i have put into this game, because i believed in it, went to the wrong people. This ain't it, chief. This ain't it.

Dear GGG, this is how you can come out of this and save face:

Remove these tabs from the game. Reimburse those sorry souls that were all jumpy enough to buy these tabs without thinkng. Integrate the QoL these tabs give into the other tabs, where they belong.

Just imagine how this day could have gone:

I could have woken up to an announcement that Oils, Delirium Orbs/Splinters and Catalysts are now part of the tabs they belong into. The subreddit would have been happy. People would have been motivated to buy supporter packs to show their support of the game and company. There wouldn't have been a shitstorm, there would have been open support and happy players. But this ain't it, GGG. This ain't it.

    Bloody hell.

Blighted maps not being searchable in the map tab for 4 leagues followed by the release of the Blight tab is very frustrating

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 05:28 PM PDT

There's a lot of justified frustration about the last 3 leagues of item bloat being monetized, but this strikes me as particularly upsetting.

Was this deliberate? Did you not fix what is close to being an outright bug so that you could sell a solution instead?

Why isn't a thread about INVISIBLE CONQUERORS OF THE ATLAS permanently at the top of the sub?

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 07:25 PM PDT

Per the title, I know this is not an issue localized to me. I know from comments in (unrelated) reddit threads, comments by streamers, and in-game chat that a lot of people, me included, have some portion of in-game mobs that are literally invisible since league start. For me in particular, I have none of the new graphics settings like "particle culling" that would make sense as an explanation for it either.

For me in particular, the issue isn't particularly widespread. In fact, most mobs encountered while mapping I can see just fine. Most of the mobs that are invisible for me are a subset of the conqueror's special influence minions and, most notably, the 4 main conquerors themselves. This is exactly as terrible as it sounds--4 of the main endgame bosses, all of whom have must-dodge attacks (for my build/progress anyways) are, quite literally, invisible unless you hover over their frame (if you find it), in which case you can see a red outline where their model should be. The main mitigating factor is they have voiceline indicators for their triggers which I know, but now that I'm to the "final" 4 watchstone versions, they're living long enough that it's REAL annoying. Maybe it's just because I don't hate the league mechanic like the rest of this sub, but I can't understand how the hell this isn't permanently at the top of the sub (or even really represented in any front page posts at all) when this issue persists half a week into the league with little/no GGG commentary on it.

I doodled what I expected vs what I got coming into Harvest League.

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 10:10 PM PDT

The solution to endless future tabs is already implemented in Harvest

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 05:17 AM PDT

In Harvest you don't put a single new currency or fragment in your Stash. All seeds go into your seed storage, and you can even craft from your stash from said storage. If Harvest ever made it into the core game, I'd doubt they'd turn a complete 180 and turn seeds into items and require you to purchase a stash tab.

The skeleton of this system was already prevalent in Delve, where flares, sulphite and azurite were all 'currencies' that were stored in a non-stash container. I don't know why GGG didn't use a similar system for the subsquent leagues, but I suspect a technological/developmental issue over a monetary one (or maybe something involving development time). In Harvest, the capabilities of this system expanded to that of actual items that would overwise go into your inventory or stash, so it seems to me that its a clear step forward for all future leagues; All league related items would go into their own respective container and if crafting was involved, it would use a similar storage-to-stash proxy as it does currently. And for smaller leagues with fewer items, I would imagine that it may eventually even involve a ui/storage involving just the related master or even less.

The release of extra paid tabs does make me raise an eyebrow. If I had to give the benefit of the doubt, I'd say that however they coded metamorph, blight and delirium simply can't be translated into the same system (maybe for reasons like current items in Standard, how to, convert items that are already in 'item' form, etc) in the current state of the game without massive resource investment.

I think people are right to be concerned, but theres a lot of witch-hunting, hand waving, antagonizing and volativity in this sub. But for people who are actually concerned about tab bloat, I really do think that GGG will expand on this 'seed storage' feature for future leagues.

EDIT: I want to highlight that the Harvest Seed Storage isn't the be all end all solution, but its a start: demonstrating that it is possible to have 'free stash tabs' that are confined to their specific league mechanic. Over time, there will of course be the same issue of too many master hideouts, too many seperate chests, etc, but it goes to show there are indeed other solutions outside of more marketable stash tabs or larger/more condensed stashes. And hopefully, if Harvest is any indication, this 'no stash tab purchase required' approach is one way GGG plans to go forward.

    The Future of Stash Tabs

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 09:36 PM PDT

Today we released some new types of Stash Tabs. Despite them selling well, many players had concerns about the direction of how our tabs are going in the future. We have some Stash Tab QoL features in the pipeline that we intended to announce when they were ready, but feel are important to discuss now so that the context of the new tabs makes more sense.

    Tab Folders

You'll be able to create tab folders (for free), which can contain other tabs. This lets you easily group related tabs together, hide empty ones you don't want cluttering the list, and so on.

    Tab Affinities

You'll be able to tick a checkbox on one of each type of your Currency, Map, Essence, Divination, Fragment, Unique, Delve, Blight, Metamorph and Delirium Tabs, to indicate that that Tab should receive items that are Ctrl+Clicked from the inventory. This intentionally would not work with other items (such as rares you have picked up), as those require attention to identify and consider them.

We considered whether this feature would result in an unacceptable level of paying for convenience. Because a user could clear their inventory with similar speed by dumping items into a regular tab (albeit in a less sorted/pretty way), we feel it wouldn't give a significant advantage if a user is optimising for mapping speed and provides a similar level of organisational benefit that the specialised Premium tabs already provide.

Both of these features are still on the drawing board, are a while away from release (ideally before 3.12 though) and may be cancelled or changed if problems come up during development.

    Future Improvements to Current Tabs

Existing Tabs are being updated as much as possible with new slots for items that should go in them. As I mentioned at ExileCon, we don't want to add a second Currency Tab. You've seen the expansions to the Currency Tab, Fragment Tab and Map Tab over time, and as we continue to add more items in future expansions, we aim to find room for them in the appropriate tabs. This means we've had to make some hard decisions about what items go in what tabs so that there is room for future items to be added.

We understand the usability concerns about having a lot of specialised tabs to manage, and believe that the changes listed above will significantly help the situation. We're sorry that we had not finished or announced these features before releasing the tabs today. It not only had bad optics but also didn't meet the transparency that we usually strive to achieve.

Seed drops not progressing with Map Tier blows my Mind

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 03:28 AM PDT

Playing SSF i probably enjoy the League more than other people, the crafts are nice, garden fights too but why do we get so little seed drops. Please GGG i want to interact with your league mechanic more, i want to setup min-max garden like a couple of posts here suggest but being close to lvl90 i am not even close to set up a full field of t2 seeds. At this rate, i highly doubt i will ever make it to the final boss without abusing things like quarry farming.
