    Barrage x Scourge Arrow

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 11:08 PM PDT

What of these is a good build to a first ranger build?(35-40 ex budget) For the things I've saw barrage has much higher dmg and speed in bosses and scourge arrow builds have more HP and def (chaos res cap too). Is there any other good points I'm missing on those builds?

    Build Suggestion

    Posted: 18 Jul 2020 03:56 AM PDT

Hey, guys. I've been struggling to find a build these days, I've played CA/TR and bleed bow this league. Both were good, but I got bored after a while. So I'm looking for something new. I saw that carry CoC buil from "fastAF" and it looked really fun, but on their discord someone said it only begins to few good after a mirror of investiment, which made me kind of afraid. I really like fast and strong builds (not summoner). Would anyone have some skill suggestion? I'm at a loss haha

Juggernaut Cyclone not reaching 1mil DPS

    Posted: 18 Jul 2020 02:39 AM PDT

I'm pulling my hair out over here. I have some really nice gear, such as Shadowstitch with 50% added damage, five jewels with both max damage and attack speed, Daresso's Salute catalysted to 70% more damage with allocated Lucidity, Mark of the Elder paired with a shaper ring that's near max rolled physically with a Deafening Essence of Contempt AND a 500% physical damage Starforge.

My 21/23 Cyclone is supported by 21/20 Fortify, 20/20 Pulverise, 21/20 Infused Channeling and awakened Melee&Brutality, both 5/20.

I run Blood&Sand, Flesh&Stone, perfect Dread Banner and Herald of Purity. I also use 21/23 Ancestral Warchief and Lion's Roar.

My skill tree gives me max resistances, 5k health, 77% armor and seven endurance charges.

What's wrong with me? Should I just go slit my wrists and call it a day? It takes a while just to kill upper red bosses with my 700-800k DPS.

    Hello fellow exiles.

I made my own Assassin KB wander but I have a horrible feeling I've made a mistake somewhere. Can anyone tell me if I have and if so how can I remedy it.

Help with Toxic Rain!!! My league starter (still) sucks.

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 08:38 PM PDT

Hey everyone, between moving and working OT during Covid-19 and being in University in the summer, I am still running my league starter: a toxic rain trickster. I breezed through campaign and into maps. Now that I am in red maps I cannot even kill AL4 conquerors. I am getting DESTROYED. I do no damage, and I am getting one shot.

    So here's what I know:

    TR lvl 18 not 20 or 21.

No +2 to support craft on Bow.

No -# to Mana Cost craft, unlucky with Jun board and mission rng

    No cluster jewels

Now here's what is so frustrating for me: I have only 1 ex 45c. I can't seem to actually acquire meaningful currency in this league since my mapping has been SO horrid. Worst league start I've ever experienced. What can I do?

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/Yt3uBQyE

Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm about to reroll poison BV because I at least remember that worked great last league.

Build help request - double strike impale champion

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 07:49 PM PDT

I'm trying out a first time build, and wanted something that might not map super fast but could boss very quickly on a budget and knock out most content. I came up with a double strike impale champion with a bit of crit.

To scale damage I mostly thought to use impale, a 350 dps foil that harvest dropped on my lap and buying any generic paradoxica (which I couldnt find on POB). I'm not sure which gem links would be best, and my tree only gets impale chance up to 60% in this setup.

I think life looks fine, especially with fortify and when I max out resists. Still in doubt about what flasks I'd use though.

    POB: https://pastebin.com/j56Jry4U

No charge generation in the build either yet other than maybe blood rage, not sure if endurance or power charges would be necessary or easy to fit in either.

Which class should I use for a seige ballista build, scion or ranger?

For a Seige Ballista Iron commander build. Right now I'm doing a bleeding crit iron commander and its doing okay, but could the scion do even more damage?

Flicker Strike running out of charges?

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 12:44 PM PDT

Kinda done with Harvest, so I was dicking around on Standard a little a decided to remake an old Flicker Strike character using a frenzy on hit chest I happened to have lying around. With the inherent 15% from Flicker Strike plus 20% from Raider plus 10% from the chest, I should have a 45% chance to gain a frenzy on hit. Accuracy is 100%, so that's not an issue. With Multistrike, I should easily be sustaining my frenzies even against a single target. Instead, I run out after only a few seconds. What's going on?

edit: After testing, it appears that you can't gain more than one charge off of a single attack, even though you're hitting three times. So apparently you can't sustain frenzies that way. Annoying.

    Boss Killer help

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 08:03 PM PDT

I've played since incursion league and I still have some disconnect on what makes a good boss killer. I can take most builds I attempt into T16 maps without issue, but there always seems to be a wall to do enough single target damage to efficiently boss. I've got a tectonic slam build this league that cruises through all content that isn't a boss so I'm looking for a tried and true dedicated boss killer guide that even I can't screw up.

Have about 5ex to better my Cyclone Champ, not sure where to spend it.

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 08:02 PM PDT

    Current build: https://pastebin.com/FBchfKiX

I have about 5ex to spend but am not sure what would be the most efficient use of them.

I can buy an Explode chest for 4ex, but thinking of saving up to 8ex for an explode/-15 to mana cost chest.

Can also do an explode chest for 4ex and then drop 1ex on a high dps two hander sword

Or final option is high dps 2h sword (what's the minimum dps I should aim for?) and then get cluster jewels for a few ex and worry about the chest later?

Need help with picking a build

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 07:59 PM PDT

Okay soto start, I started playing in Metamorph and ive always struggled finding builds that work for me, until I played CoC ice Nova (CI version) but im not running it for a third league. I also tried herald stacking last league which was pretty good but don't have anywhere near the amount of currency some do. This league however I've been kinda stuck, I haven't been able to progress into red maps yet on 3 different builds which were BL mines (way too squishy and slow), ED trickster (not enough dmg, bosses took several minutes to kill), and VD spellslinger (too squishy) last 2 leagues I relied on lucky drops to get geared up. Is there anything out there (under 1ex) that could help me get into red maps?

Thanks for any help in advance. Edit: preferably on shadow or witch so I don't have to level again

Searching for a pretty cheap build

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 07:42 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

I currently have 130c and I´m searching for a build that could get me to level 95 and at least 24 challenges this league (I can only play 2-3 hours a day) .

It shouldnt die very often, and have decent clear and bossing. I personally dislike ed/c and summoners though. I just wanna do most of the content.

My current Build (Earthquake Bleed Gladiator) just feel pretty slow and weak.

    Thanks in advance.

How to progress my TR trickster?

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 08:41 AM PDT

I used Esoro's TR trickster as a guide and it was a smooth levelling experience. However, i'm starting to face problems against endgame content. https://pastebin.com/Uk2Z4zpA

Some problems: Low life - planning to harvest craft a hunter influenced stygian vise with triple res

Low dps - fights against t16 map bosses, guardians etc are taking way too long.

Mana sustain - not sure how to improve this other than crafting another elreon mod as I already have an enlighten lvl 3

Also, I'm tryimg to not straight up buy gear and instead buy bases and craft them myself

Theorycrafting a support build for every class, if not every ascendancy.

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 03:14 PM PDT

(Be warned, long wall of text.) I'm an avid off-meta enthusiast and play things like Bane/Essence Drain/Soulrend Arcanist Brand Hierophant or spellcasting Juggernaut as long as it remains within the confines of the playstyle, aesthetics, and scaling of the ascendancy.

Support/aurabot/cursebot builds are obviously not as popular in PoE due to the finickiness of multiplayer and party play, but the support and vision for a supportive style of gameplay is clearly there in the skills and ascendancies that have it.

It's generally known that Guardian, Scion, and Necromancer are the de facto aurabots, with Champion the lesser known even with the highest potential aura effect modifier in the game. Occultist is generally the top cursebot used due to its Profane Bloom node, as anti-hexproof is a very rare trait in the game, shared only by Cospri's Will. However, a lot of aurabot builds do incorporate curses as well.

At this point, I'd like to talk about ascendancies that I think have some potential toward building for as support:

    • Inquisitor. The Pious Path node grants immunity to elemental ailments to all allies affected by your Consecrated Ground, which may be valuable, but the fact that other ascendancies have easy access to ailment immunity makes it a bit weak. That said, in a theoretical scenario, Inquisitor is able to have 3 additional nodes all with supportive effects. You could make a case for an aura build that includes Wrath, Anger, and Hatred, with the Vengeful Commander notable from cluster jewels or an Elemental Weakness curse aura, while taking something like Consecrated Path to stay in melee range to proc your passive on enemies.
      • Sanctuary: Enemies take 10% increased damage on your consecrated ground.
      • Augury of Penitence: Nearby enemies take 16% increased elemental damage and deal 8% less elemental damage.
      • Righteous Providence: 20% increased effect of non-damaging ailments.
    • Saboteur. Not an obvious choice, but I believe the mine rework and Saboteur ascendancy changes from Blight league might make a support build possible. In addition, new mines with aura effects - Pyroclast, Icicle, and Stormblast Mine - have been introduced since, but I haven't seen any builds that have tried to build for the auras from the new mines. The main challenges of of building Saboteur as an aurabot would be that mine mana reservation also competes with aura mana reservation. Therefore, Pyromaniac would be an essential node to complete such a build with Demolitions Specialist for the 100% increased aura effect of mines and Born in the Shadows for the enemy blind aura. Now the question is whether auras from mines make a noticeable impact. You clearly won't see use in mob clearing since mobs die in one hit in a full stacked party. So you would be using it for bosses. Will you be able to get to 15-20 mines placed in a reasonable timeframe? And how would you do so?
    • Elementalist. With Beacon of Ruin the clear path to take, the only other two nodes I can think of would be the golem nodes, unfortunately making a potential Elementalist support build another golem build. You could probably run multiple Lightning Golems for the aura effect, but the question I haven't been able to answer is whether the aura makes a noticeable effect for party members and whether auras from multiple Lightning Golems stack.
    • Chieftain. Chieftain presents an interesting challenge even as a potential support build due to keeping the fire damage theme. The nodes to take here would be Hinekora, Death's Fury and Arohongui, Death's Presence. Perhaps you could run totems with Empire's Grasp?

Short thoughts on other one-supportive node ascendancies, but have no clear support build path:

    • Assassin: No direct support...maybe going crit to inflict ailments, but you would probably end up killing most things yourself anyway.
    • Trickster: Give power and frenzy charges to your allies with Conduit with the Swift Killer node while channelling, but that's it.
    • Deadeye: Gathering Winds, but it's the only supportive node.
    • Pathfinder: Master Alchemist node with 20% elemental ailment chance...but that's it.
    • Raider: Elemental exposure with the Avatar of the Veil node, see Inquisitor notes.
    • Slayer: Enemy critical strike multiplier reduction.
    • Gladiator: Enemies maimed take 10% increased physical damage, a very specific damage type that probably won't affect half of the players you would party with.
    • Juggernaut: Unyielding and Unbreakable for the stun duration bonuses. But to build for stun, you have to build for damage yourself due to the stun threshold damage requirements, so pretty iffy.
    • Berserker: No supportive nodes. I still lament the warcry node change from 3.10 to 3.11.
    • Hierophant: Take Sanctuary of Thought for the reduced mana reservation for auras...but I can't think of any other path besides totems.

I've discussed a bit about the ascendancies, but for all classes, there are a lot of niche effects like warcries giving Onslaught to allies in a particular cluster jewel notable or tons of unique items with various effects. I'd like to hear other thoughts and experiences building aura/curse/supports from other players!
