I don't care about harvest going core or not, I just want previous leagues to be reworked.

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 03:25 AM PDT

PoE is a great game. Lots of cool mechanics and so much content. But most of them feels tedious and useless after we had a few money printing leagues. They actually need to be reworked.

I've been playing poe for around 4 years now, non-stop. I've seen how hardworking the devs are, and I really appreciate that. But even though they keep releasing great stuff, old league mechanics are still there and while being tedious, they are not as rewarding as the last couple of leagues.

I know this is being talked about for a few leagues, but it feels like a bigger problem after we've seen harvest craftings. While everyone is talking about why harvest should go core and why it shouldn't, and people here have been posting great ideas on how can devs implement harvest crafts into the core game, I see the biggest problem as the older league mechanics.

There are lots of great stuff that I'd like to do since they're fun, but also hesitate to do since they won't give me any profit of any sort, or just not worth the time. I accept the fact that after the last couple of leagues, especially starting from legion, money is something a lot easier to find, and that overshadows the loot from the mechanics from previous leagues. With every new league, there are more ways to make money and it keeps getting ridiculous after each new league.

I don't care about harvest going core or not. Or any money printing or game breaking league mechanic to be added on top of that pile, all I want from the next league is a general rework to the previous leagues.

    TL,DR; Read the last paragraph.

The nerf to Cluster Jewels Notables Weightings that we had after Delirium should be reverted, or we will not be able to get them for a reasonable price

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 11:59 AM PDT

As a bandaid for the nerf right now in Harvest we can just augment most mods so only some niche clusters get really expensive, but after Harvest this is going to be fucked up, unless we get another way of crafting clusters in the next league.

I'll give some examples considering the worst luck you could have crafting it

Carrion Golemancer Large Cluster (Renewal, Rotten Claws, Primordial Bond):

    With harvest

    1. Spam alterations until you hit Renewal, then regal until you get a removable suffix (~30alts and 3 regals)
    2. Remove whatever suffix you got (~60c in case you have 2)
    3. Augment attack twice, you will now have Renewal, Rotten Claws, Call to the Slaughter (~60c)
    4. Remove caster to remove Call to the Slaughter (~30c)
    5. Now you have 2 empty suffix, Augment life twice and you will hit life regen and Primordial bond (~100c)

And that's it, you would have spent 250c + some alterations, probably less if you didn't need to augment attack or life twice.

    Without harvest

Also, instead of augment life you can augment crit to get Vicious Bite, which is used by many minion builds.

CoC Icenova Large Cluster (Blanketed Snow, Prismatic Heart, Widespread Destruction):

This cluster is easier to craft at ilvl 68, at more ilvl we can hit more undesirable mods.

With Harvest (with an ilvl 84 base, the worst one for this craft)

    1. Alteration + Augment untill you hit Prismatic Heart + Widespread Destruction, then regal and hope that you can remove whatever shit you roll (~650 alts or 120c + 30c for the removal)
    2. Aug chaos to roll chaos resistance and block suffixes (~50c)
    3. Remove/add Cold until you hit Blanketed Snow, which is on average 25 attempts. (50c each x 25 attempts = 1250c)

Total cost would be ~1450c or ~9ex, which makes sense considering the prices

    Without harvest

    Alteration + Augment + Regal method (14642c or ~90ex)

Best Fossil Combination (3692c or ~23ex)

Fire Blade Vortex Large Cluster (Lord of Drought, Master of Fire, Doryani's Lesson):

    With Harvest

    1. Alteration + Augment until you hit Master of Fire, then Regal and hope for a removable prefix or suffix (~336 alt + 101 aug or ~70c)
    2. Augment fire for Lord of Drought (40c). Its 1/7 to hit Lord of Drought here, if we don't we have to start over, so we'll count this as 7 attempts, 7*70 + 70*40 = 770c
    3. Augment life x2 for Doryani's Lesson (100c)

Total cost would be 870c or ~5ex, but its probably more because i didn't count bad rolls with regal orbs after the 1st step.

These are relatively easy to craft, just time consuming, and no one is selling them, so whoever reads this can probably make a bit of currency.

    Without Harvest

Alteration + Augment + Regal method (~500k chaos or about 10 mirrors, yikes)

Best Fossil Combination (~75k chaos or 468ex)

I think the most expensive and rare ones should be 5ex since most of them are completely necessary for builds, but once harvest goes away this is gonna be insane.

Can we have Domain of Timeless Conflict be paused when no one is in the instance? Just lose a 4-way run because of the "Failed to connect to instance" error

I've just lose a 4-way run because of the "Failed to connect to instance" error (Die -> Come back -> Error -> Disconnected -> Log in -> Go to hideout -> Come back again and it already finished because of the wasted time).

Can we have Domain of Timeless conflict be paused just like Delirium mist? It's not as "timeless" as it sounds :(

    Trying to State the Obvious

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 09:39 PM PDT

I am a casual. I am also a salesman and marketing professional - messaging and communication is really important to me.

This has been exactly what GGG said it would be - a test.

Why is anyone treating it anymore than that?

For those who are not/ever have been in product development, and you want to try something 'extreme' with your product, this can happen.

It should always come down to 'walk in their shoes,' and i feel not enough people are doing that.

    So remember this:

CEO (who gives unbridled access) said: This breaks the game, it wont stay." Why didn't you assume this was serious? And how can you be mad at a person who was open and honest about their intent UP FRONT? Any other industry would call Chris insane for being so open - be thankful, not mad.

Objectives - games must have multiple goals, its why you play them and continue to try advancing. Different goals = larger user base. Having 'unreachable' (they aren't unreachable, you and i just don't have the time and knowledge) items isn't a bad thing. Its critical. See: Headhunters, Mirrors, etc. (if you dont think the above is true, try imagining dropping a HH/Mirror while your playing. You'd poop the ol' pants / want to share your experience. And thats the point).

GROWTH ($ inflow) - BAD WORD i know. But this is so important, yet so constantly derided as 'bad.'

If you love this game why wouldn't you want the people who make it to gain success and resources? If you love a person, do you not wish them success? Happiness? GGG has given us a form of entertainment we value, its why we are here on this reddit in the first place. We care enough to see what other people think about what we care about.

So put yourself in their position - They are making POE2 (WTF WHEN I WANT IT IN MY VEINS). They say they are testing stuff, and as such they test stuff. They find out a crafting system they ARE TESTING - cant stress that enough - isnt something they find would create a viable product. So they want to take time to figure out how to implement it correctly.

not REMOVE IT. Not DELETE IT. just, ya know, see the results of the test - which they said up front, it was.

'Wtf? he said something about money at the beginning idk where i am HALP!'

I did! do you want people interested in your product? im not talking about the freebee folk who exist in all products, i mean the ones that support you financially. In the current economy it is prudent to attract people with a sample. We are monkeys after all, and monkeys gotta have a lil' taste.

IT DOES NOT MEAN THEY OWE YOU THE WHOLE BANANA.

From a financial perspective strictly, you'd be crazy to not cater to your biggest spenders. Here is Where GGG is just better than other companies though. That money doesn't get you anything other than looking cool. What that does is completely and effortlessly remove any potential for PAYTOWIN. This. IS. GOOOOOOOOD. not bad, but GOOOOOOOD.

Its good because their only option to making things 'hard to get' - WAIT FOR IT WAIT FOR IT - is to make it HARD TO GET. IN THE GAME. LIKE, BY PLAYING IT WOWOWOOWWOWW GENIUS its like how games were originally designed.

I have never owned a Shavs. Nor ever owned a 'mirror-worthy' item, or an 'undisputed' axe, etc etc etc. Confession time - IVE NEVER EVEN KILLED SHAPER. I just have never had the time in a single league and i only play leagues. But I've played this game 1000+ hours because i enjoy the time i have with it. If i didnt like it, why on EARTH would i play it?

    Another potential craft bandaid/solution.

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 02:26 PM PDT

I honestly think a potential bandaid fix to crafting could be seen on the bench with lowering metacrafts cost, adding new ones (cannot roll defense, life, elemental, etc...) and maybe even making those metacrafts not counting as affixes, allowing them on 6-affixes items where they could be used to increase odds of a good annul for example ( cannot roll X would prevent annul from hitting that type of mods).

Multimod metacraft would apply an increasing cost multiplier to other metacrafts.

All of that would allow players, from casuals to hardcores, to deterministicly craft with their currencies, thus maintaining currencies sink, and not be too broken, I think. Atleast not as broken as harvest crafting.

I could see some potential op cases with "prefixes/sufixes cannot be changed" but you get the base idea, im sure a solution could be found.

    All I want from crafting

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 01:57 PM PDT

Is to be able to casually exalt my gear and not feel like I've wasted hundreds of chaos. Thats it. It feels good to have an item thats got 4 or 5 mods and just hit it. It just isn't something you can do with how rare exalts are and how much better stuff you get trading them away.
