    They're so good for the leveling process and the fact that you can only get them from late-game content in the base game makes them useless.

    Essences should be usable on rare items

    Essences are a much bigger part of SSF than they are standard. Making essences not require you to use a scouring orb inbetween each essence would be a big difference in rolling gear in SSF since scours are so precious. It also wouldn't be gamebreaking in standard because scourings are already very cheap there.

    I don't know. It's something about the torches and maybe some of those tiles that look kinda similar to the labyrinth ones. That small room you enter before actually going into the ossuary has one torch that lights up aswell.

    I know it all might possibly just be for pure aestethics, but I can't stop thinking about it.

    Anyone else thought about that area at all?

    Initial disclaimer: temp leagues, racing, etc. is not how I usually play. This is coming from the perspective of someone that has not seriously tried in an event before. If racing is your thing, I'm not going to yuck your yum, you keep it up, don't let my novice opinions on the process dissuade you.

    My usual playstyle league to league is the same. Make a starter, use the starter to fund another build, make new builds instead of investing heavily, until I find the one build that speaks to me and then finally go deep in the league. Inevitably, that build will be very tanky. In Heist, it was Herald of Agony Juggernaut. In Harvest, it was Mjolner Chieftan. I've also been known to destroy servers with CWDT shenanigans.

    So when the Mayhem began, I decided to go Juggernaut. Not because it was almost certainly the lowest pick rate (which it is), but because I like defense, and I'm not a pro at the game. I don't piano my flasks perfectly, I don't keep up temporary buffs. I need help living.

    And I went pretty hard. I'm out of work due to COVID, and thought, you know what, let's see where I'm at when I go to sleep on Friday. On Friday, according to poe.ninja, there were 27 juggs at 80 or above, me included. That was enough for me to believe that I had a shot. So I kept going.

    Between then and now, I've discovered some things that worked very well for me. Hopefully, they weren't a fluke, and they could maybe help you too.

    • Phasing flask is a must-have. I'm considering it for future leagues when the mechanic is lots of guys. Like Heist, maybe.
    • It's a void league. Exalts have basically no value. If you're not normally a crafting person, there has never been a better time to feel the tiny rush of exalt slamming, or getting an annulment just right so you can craft the resist you need. Try and make an item or two, you're not going to be selling those alterations for chaos anytime soon.
    • I was in the trade version, not SSF, so I bought a Belly of the Beast on the cheap and slowly used all my jewelers and fusings on it until it was linked. A lot cheaper than buying one outright, and I never really felt like I was missing out. Plus, there's that tiny rush when you manage a 6-link yourself.
    • If you die because of too much content, bin the map and start a new one. Give yourself the chance to take a deep breath and keep moving forward. If you want to advance, you can't get hung up on dying. I died 29 times (being a jugg has its perks) and I'm sure that at least half of those were after level 90.
    • Give yourself reasonable daily goals, and when you reach them, set new ones. Don't just say "I'm gonna get a Demigod's" and go from there. You eat an elephant one bite at a time.
    • Don't get discouraged because people on the ladder are way ahead of you. They practiced. They have groups. They play 12+ hours a day, and that's if they take a long break in the middle. There are people taking this more seriously than you. (To be fair, there is someone out there taking this the most seriously. If you are them, I salute you, and apologize for the inference.)

    So where did I end up? Why am I posting this on Tuesday when there's still days to go? I made it to level 95, and had a little think. And I realized, I'd rather cool down from this breakneck pace so I can enjoy the delve event, rather than keep pushing on the off-chance that people above me falter. I don't play in Standard, I don't need a Demigod's to show off to my friends. Although if I did get one, I would absolutely show off to my friends.

    At time of writing, I am rank 9 on the Mayhem SC Juggernaut ladder. I expect that rank to slip in the coming days. But I absolutely had fun. I accomplished more in a little over 4 days than I usually pull off in weeks of a league. My hat continues to be off to the people who have the focus and drive to race at these levels, especially in the more competitive classes. This event showed me that I have the capacity, if I wanted to reach the top. But personally, I think I prefer to enjoy the game in a different way. Endless Delve will be a more relaxed affair.

    The easiest way to craft a 6 link chest piece?

    Im still fairly new at this game and the build guide i am following he has a 6 link Cloak of Defiance. I see one on the POE trade site but it is not all fused together but it does have 6 links.. so my question is do I buy that and try and make it a 6 link myself? And if so what is the cheapest/most effective way to do it

    I really don't know what to do right now. I have played Path of Exile for years, I created my account in May of 2013. I've played on and off for years. There has only ever been one league that I've really flourished (delirium) because I don't play the trading game. Since I don't trade that much, I decided to check out the Mayhem SSF league. I thought it'd be interesting. The entire time I was playing, I had a foreboding feeling that a mirror would drop. Well, it did. So now I'm sitting here, looking at my stash tab. What should be the happiest moment of my PoE career is just tragic. I can't trade this. I can't keep this. I won the lottery but I can't spend the money and my bank account closes in a couple days. I know this is "just a game" but I've never felt so crushed before. I'm staring at walls, just ruminating on my luck. I feel numb. I honestly don't know if I can keep playing this game. I don't know where to go from here. If you're still reading, I hope you can find humor or a sense of schadenfreude so at least someone benefits from this or take this as a warning. This can happen to you in these mini leagues. Happy Holidays.

    My first league a short story....

    My brother got me into the game a while ago I just couldn't generate interest in it, too much to learn, so never even made it past A3. Well in Heist, I decided to commit to it and play the game since I wanted to grind instead of playing something competitive. My brother has been playing forever (since release I think) and presented me with a task of getting 36 challenges. I got to 28 and thought all hope was lost, I was done. I thought there was no way I finish 36 challenges....Well today, on my first ever Reddit post, I thought it would be fitting to brag a little because I am proud of my accomplishment. 36 challenges ACHIEVED! To celebrate, I joined Global chat and gave away all of my currency. It was a good time.

    Why delirium fps/performance on maps is such disaster?

    U have 100+ fps (almost) always except deliriums, even after initial map loading fps can drop off from 100+ to 1-2 for a few seconds and surprisingly non always at maximum mob/effects density/actions
    I have optimized settings for best display, with cullings, dynamic res, highest priororities set on poe, etc
    Always works except of delirium
    This problem happened for a first time during Heist, dissappeared after engine and settings opti, now it strikes back
