PSA: You probably make more currency than you think. (Trade league)

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 02:07 PM PDT

I frequently see posts from people asking for super low budget builds. Is an extremely stingy person I understand the appeal - also, folks have lived (some folks do anyway) and can't necessarily spend all day playing.

That said, if you use a decent loot filter to keep yourself from picking up pure trash and also upgrade your gear infrequently you probably make more cash than you think. I first noticed this in the legion league when I started very late and very careful count of how much money I made and specifically how much I spent on my character. I have never been a very wealthy player, but that league I had over 50 ex in gear - just never very much at one time. I have seen that pattern repeat. The most I would have at one time is about 5ex before I would spend it so I never felt like I could get any really expensive items for big time meta builds.

Try this some time: keep track of all your gear purchases in ex equivalents (0.1 ex for a 10c item at current prices) and then see how much you had to spend. Just seeing that number for one league might change your spending habits - if you save up a little more maybe you can have fun with some expensive items, which also opens end game content allowing you to make even more currency.

Also, the generic and often repeated advice is always true: spend more time mapping/delving/heisting and spend less time staring at your pob or in game stat sheet. If you're not struggling with content you don't need to upgrade right now.

    Firestorm + Unleash Question

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 12:22 AM PDT

Does the limit of 3 Firestorms at a time mean that Unleash with 4 or 5 seals is redundant? Or does Firestorm's first hit proc before the 1st/2nd storms get despawned by the 4th/5th ones?

I've tested it myself and I just can't tell what's happening. Damage appears to have gone up but without a test dummy I can't exactly tell for sure.

    anarchic spirit blade build

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 01:19 AM PDT

    https://imgur.com/a/SvMlCas

i found this sword in ssf hc, once i get hillock qual and 18% qual craft on it it comes out at 510 pdps with tier 1 crit on top. id like to make a build with it, someone got any ideas for me? i cant find any builds using anarchic spirit blade with the exception of a mathil perforate build, but perforate is kinda wonky, and im also not a big fan of cyclone. there dont seem to be great options for conversion attacks otherwise. any tips are appreciated, thanks

For the first time ever I have a headhunter, I want to do spectral shield throw. Should I do raider or gladiator? Which one makes more sense for headhunter?

Made my own Dual Strike/Frost Blades build first time in SSF this league, please help me improve

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 03:36 AM PDT

I decided to experiment with Assassin Crit with Daggers and went for Frost Blades for clear and Dual Strike for single target. Please can you look at the PoB and help me improve my dps and other factors, because i struggle above t11 maps.

    https://pastebin.com/4i3Twk8R

    Questions:

    • When i get 6 link , i want to go 100% 6 link dual strike for both clearing and single target and remove frost blades completely from my build. Is that possible with maybe Melee Splash/Ancestral Call? If so, what will the dualstrike 6 link be and what will my other links be?

    • Currently using Frost blade for clear thats why i have it as 5 linked, but when i go dual strike 6 link, i have to get close to mobs, but if i get close to mobs, its not always easy, and i die a lot any suggestion to that? Maybe try to get more melee strike range? Not sure.

    • Can anything be improved in my PoB for DPS/Defense?

Please help me figure out my transition to Dual strike, as i really really want to try that skill with crit daggers, frost blades im only using cos it's for clear temporarily.

    Need help with SST Gladiator

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 03:19 AM PDT

Hello everyone!Got a few issues with this build

    1. Damage on normal monsters is more than enough 0 problem with expeditions and other stuff. But damage on bosses is lacking, sometimes it takes like 3-5 minutes to kill shaper guardian. Pob says i got 720k dps on shaper/guardian.
    2. Survivability on maps, while i am clearing packs is insane i literally dont take any damage. But again on bosses idk why but i cant survive their attacks? Maybe it is my defense or my life leech isnt enough? For example i got 5100hp ( 146k effective life pool for physical attacks and 85k for elemental attacks). But hydra yellow t16 map one shots me with her white balls. Idk why.

What should i upgrade next? Got aprox 9ex available. I think axe is important? Because i got only 80% chance to bleed.

    My Pob

    https://pastebin.com/Lsi2jiLb

Also why pob doesnt calculate medium cluster dps?

    the traitor keystone in 3.15

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 09:05 PM PDT

Since in 3.15 we have ways to automate flasks in-game (instilling orbs), Ive decided to check out how the traitor would play out with flask combos. There are a couple mods that would grant 100% uptime if enough charges are generated, using the traitor keystone.

    To summarize

    • instilling orbs can roll Used when Charges reach full and Reused at the end of the Flask effect
    • brutal restraint timeless jewel grants the traitor keystone, which is: 4 flask charges per empty flask slot per 5 seconds (so 12 charges per 5 sec if using 2 flasks or 16 charges per 5 sec if using one flask)
    • theres 90% increased flask charges gained on tree and 110% if you crit. To be conservative, lets consider 50% for picking one cluster and a belt suffix. This brings charges gained from the traitor to 18 per 5 sec (2 flasks) or 24 per 5 sec (1 flask). These numbers show that with a bit more investment its possible to run several 1 flask setups at least with 100% uptime.
    • medium cluster jewels got 6% increased flask duration on small nodes and some notables have even more increased duration or charges gained

Now with all that info lets consider if theres any unique flask worth to keep 100% uptime.

    • coruscating elixir is an easy option to go ES low life without shavs and probably can refill itself even with a second flask due to its 10sec base duration and low cost of 20 charges
    • kiara's determination is interesting. If you commit to it as a single flask and get over 100% charges gained, 26% hillock quality, a perfect 60% reduced and a bunch of flask effect duration (belt 20%, druidic rite, natural remedies cluster, flask medium cluster) you can put this up to 5 seconds duration with over 40 charges being granted per 5 seconds. It might be worth it since it grants chill, freeze, curse, onslaught and stun immunity
    • wise oak is just 15 charges to use. id use it with another low cost flaks like taste of hate as a scion with the pathfinder node it shouldnt be hard to math your way for 100% uptime on both flasks
    • cinderswallow urn is a no go for the traitor
    • coralito's signature is an easy flask to keep 100% uptime due to low cost of 20 charges, but its not as good as it was before nerfs
    • dying sun if you invest a lot might be worth it, but it also needs a good roll on it. as realisticaly hard to scale as replica rumi for 100% uptime with the traitor
    • elixir of the unbroken circle can combo well with eternal apple and minimum endurance charges but might not be worth the investment
    • forbidden taste is a no go; better suited for the use on savage hit
    • olroth's resolve if someone got enough ward for this to be awesome id say theres no room to invest into the traitor with duration and charges gained nodes
    • overflowing chalice an easy companion flask to use in a two flask setup. primary flask might not see 100% uptime, but it will give it a long uptime before chalice runs out and needs to be filled
    • replica sorrow of the divine / the sorrow of the divine can be brought up to a long duration just like coruscating elixir. it takes a bit more than that one, but its an easy way to get those keystones (eldritch battery and zealots oath respectively) as a 100% uptime flask
    • rotgut would not build around it tbh
    • rumi's concoction even nerfed i like this one. would build it if I had a lot of flask effect
    • atziri's promise, bottled faith, lion's roar, sin's rebirth, soul catcher, soul ripper and witchfire brew can work but I can't really think of builds for them now lol. Some are truly unique one their own (soul ripper), but others lag behind (lion's roar is just 10% more melee damage).

    honorable mention

    • doedre's elixir is awesome. its been buffed to hit you for 50% of your max life as chaos resistance (so 15% considering 75% res). It also grants 1-3 of each charge. Thinking on using this with a cwdt 1 setup to trigger elemental overload, elemental equilibrium and culling strike - note that this isnt a utility flask. button press will be needed

tldr there are some combos now that most flasks suck that could be built around using the traitor keystone

whats everyone opinion on this? anything worthwhile that I missed?

    Anyone play Charged Dash recently?

Is some kind of Archmage Raider still viable in this league?

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 01:25 AM PDT

I've got a leveled raider sitting around and I'm wondering what to do with her. I was kinda itching to play some Archmage again, after enjoying it last league on Hiero. I've seen some bf/bb and cremation Archmage builds on ninja, but I'm wondering if there's any guide or video out there for starting out, with a lower budget initially, as I don't really like decking out a character completely right from the start.

    Bossing on a budget?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 03:47 PM PDT

    Hi,

I got stuck in a loop of rerolling characters because "that could be fun", if you know what I mean.

I do want to experience PoE bosses (I think it's conquerors in the map then like lair of the hydra? sirius maven? stuff!

Can I do those w/ the new forbidden rites totems? Any other builds? They don't need to be fast and I'm like 20 maps into my atlas, so I'm just starting technically.

    Assassin CoC Eye of Winter

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 03:28 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

I need a little bit of help with my build, CoC Eye of Winter with Hydrosphere. The Damage is fine, but nothing too spectacular. The main problem of this build is survivablity.

I am not very experienced in theorycrafting builds, even less with CoC. I've played some CoC Variants before, but now I do not know how to scale offences and defences.

Could you guys please check it out and give me tips what to improve in my gear and my skill tree? It would be very much appreciated.

Rolling Ele Hit: Wander or Bow?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 12:21 PM PDT

Saved up a decent amount of currency on my starter (around 35ex) and about to roll an Ele Hit build. I've looked on PoE Ninja, and am curious about a wander version vs a bow version.

From what I've seen, the wander seems to have better clear, while the bow seems to have better survivability (Raider dodge, ailment immune, etc.)

Does anyone have a PoB for either/both they wouldn't mind sharing, or even a guide? Haven't played Ele Hit in about 4-5 leagues when you used to go Slayer.

Build help for getting HoT autobomber off the ground

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 11:38 PM PDT

    POB: https://pastebin.com/emnPxi48

League started as a Storm Brand/Hydrosphere Spellslinger (lol nerfs) and it was zdps through the acts with minor problems. Mana nerfs were pretty real but not impossible.

Currently broke and will be respec-ing after a few more levels, farming, and grabbing my initial clusters. I understand my gear is incredibly scuffed right now.

First time playing an autobomber and I have no clue about what's going on this league with how triggered spells drain mana. I just had a few questions about how to get the build off the ground.

-How do I deal with Storm Secret dealing damage back to me? Am I supposed to invest in life regen or leeching mechanics?

-What the hell is sapping all of my mana when Herald of Thunder goes off? I currently have two low level Cast When Damage Taken setups; is that what's eating up all of my mana?

-How important is Crest of Desire? 16ex+ seems a bit steep right now.

-Is is preferable to go crit versus non-crit? I see some builds on poe.ninja taking Elemental Overlord and going non-crit, but to be fair those builds are nowhere near as poor as mine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Skeleton mage transition to what?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 02:53 PM PDT

I'm currently running a skeleton mage necro and kinda hit a wall at red maps. I haven't invested anything into the character and I'd like to transition to a build I can finish end game with. Spectres seem the obvious choice but I'd love some suggestions on what guide I could follow. I don't have a ton of currency so a build I can invest in would be great. Thank you exiles

    Conc Path Totems Chieftain

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 07:46 AM PDT

    Hi Guys,

I made a quick showcase of a conc path chieftain I've been working on.

It revolves around stacking strength, converting it into spell damage, and then converting that into attack damage with Crown of Eyes.

It's a tricky build, since uptime is not 100% on bosses and mana is posing an issue at the moment.

But taking that into consideration, it's really fun to play.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    https://youtu.be/hPnb8or_rGU

P.S the build still has room for improvement.

Anybody managed to make an end game viable Blade Vortex build in 3.15?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 12:05 PM PDT

I have some interesting BV build idea, but after some testing, I just cant see, how to make BV viable against hard enemies like non telegraphed bosses or metamorphs. Enemies just hit incredibly high this patch and being a melee caster is ...uh.
