Noob wants to have build checked

    Posted: 21 Mar 2019 03:04 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

I played POE years ago and now wanted to get back into it. Since I love reddit and the community around POE seems nice and helpful, I decided to check my plans on my first char.

I did check on builds online, but I quickly realized that I lack the experience to evaluate builds / skills or understand why they specifically chose some passives.

Background: Playing in German and might have some wrongly translated skills /whatevers. At the time of the post I am lvl 43. Would play in English, personally, but I am playing with my parents in a group (~60 years of age; I am 33), so I switched to German so they understand what I am talking about. The family is exprienced in Diablo 3 party play, but we are looking for a new challenge. We do not live close, so we skype while playing. I found the website https://www.exiled.eu/gems/ wich helped me translate the skills into Path of Building from German to English.

Player type: I am a casual player, not really looking into the absolute limit of Endgame. Having fun playing the mine and synthesis stuff. I have limited time due to work and will play maybe 10-20 hours a week. However, I would still like to check, if my planned passive tree is OK. Again, not optimized for lots of time spending, just looking if it is totally absurd. So it should be low budget, as well. I can trade for items in endgame, I wont have lots of currency due to limited play time though.

Philosophy: The main point I went for, which I read somewhere: "Pick a skill that you feel comfortable with and play with that. Optize around it". This is, at the moment, freezing pulse. In general, I want to do frost stuff, with a backup of fire (in case of resistance). For the fire skill I went with fireball, but I am open to suggestion.

Build requirements: I have read up on concepts though and checked some builds. My main points are: - decent to good survivability - good damage, mainly through elemental spell and crit. - decent goup play trough auras (dps / support) --> this is why I went for cold, so I can freeze stuff - Solo play or with casual group

Please check for: - passive tree as a general approach OKAY? - I do not know legendary items yet. Some pointers would be great. - I still am not decided about armour or evasion in addition to ES. Feel free to advise. - Alternative for freezing pulse - I like that it goes through monsters, so that should be kept. AOE as alternative is ok. - Single target secondary spell advise, preferable fire. - Is dual build with cold main / fire secondary even viable? - better support gems on skills. - Is it worth going for elemental equilibrium? - What else?

Please ignore. - I did not check the skill levels in Path of Building - I did not pick gear (yet). So the stats are not complete, I guess.

    Thanks for your time!

    Farming build

    Posted: 21 Mar 2019 03:01 AM PDT

Hi! I'm very new to the game. I just started and I'm level 42 on my first character ever. I wanted to ask if you could recommend me some farming build for equipment?

I heard that BS Inquisitor is awesome for this, what are your thoughts on this matter?

    Push 100 Softcore builds

    Posted: 21 Mar 2019 01:21 AM PDT

I'm looking for builds to Synthesis SC that are effective to push 100 with.

    POB links/guides would be awsome.

    Keywords for the builds:

    - Fast clearspeed

    - Good survivability

    - Be able to farm high tier maps

    - Max 20ex build price

    Cheap/low price builds are ++

Can someone recommend a satisfying build to play?

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 06:53 PM PDT

Started playing last season using Enki's Arc Witch, got to level 96 and beat Elder and Shaper. Once I got Inpulsa's it felt amazing, the speed, chaining, explosions etc. Trying to find a build for this season but nothing's grabbing me, all the 'meta' builds seem really fiddly. Started with Winter Orb Elementalist but it just felt clunky running around trying to avoid stuff while a turret on your head auto aims. Trying Vaal Double Strike Champion now but finding melee pretty punishing. Are there any strong builds that have a satisfying playstyle?

Storm Burst/CWC-Purifying Flame Trickster: Disintegrator + 2x Circle of Anguish Rings

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 11:09 PM PDT

Thought it was time to share this. It's pretty obscene, and the gear isn't even that expensive (apart from the amulet). Deletes T16 bosses, phases shaper in a fraction of a second and uber elder extremely quickly. You can stack duration if you want too, but not worth it given Purifying Flame is there too.

It's stacking flat phys from Disintegrator and then converting to elemental and on to chaos. Huge gains from conversion, cast speed and even % increased damage (given there is none on the weapon). Degen is pretty easy to mitigate.

Next level will be better boots and an end game belt with better dps mods.

Note I have added level 1 Arcane Surge artificially to reflect Commander of the Pit gloves (their Arcane Surge proc is not recognized by PoB) and also level 17 Faster Casting to the chest to reflect the 36% increased cast speed from ghost shrouds.

Any comments or questions, let me know.

    Where to go from here?

    My trickster.

So, I'm kinda in a spot where I don't know what to get or where to go next in my build. I'm having 0 difficulty mapping (Other then drops) sitting at Tier 8s due to drop rate.

Is there any item or something I should be shooting for? The only thing I can think of is maybe a Decay Wand. My damage clears maps with no problem and I've only died (SC) while leveling and 1 time I wasn't paying attention in a -max map.

    Gearing and item help

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 08:10 PM PDT

Hey exiles, I always reach a point right around the start of maps where I kind of stagnate and I'm not sure what/where to go next. I dont have currency to buy weapons, nor do I feel like I know enough about crafting to make my own. I have followed several engineering eternity guides but I always reach this spot where I'm not sure how to improve my gear without bricking my build and making it harder to map any thoughts/resources?

    Caustic Arrow build, yeah?

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 07:29 PM PDT

This will be my second season, the first one I played I created Enki's Arc Witch and had a lot of fun. Now I keep gravitating towards the Caustic Arrow gameplay (DoTs type playstyle and I am really feeling a ranger type class).

My question is, would this be viable for maps/shaper kills and what do I build it with? I've found a couple of builds online but all different opinions and I haven't found a build as well put together as Enki's. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or any advice as to a build similar with that ideology that might work better?

Made a mistake making a TS WR as a seasonal starter; but still accumulated around 100 chaos, what should I make?

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 06:00 PM PDT

I don't mind the playstyle, as long as it's efficient. I heard bane was pretty good; but I wanted to ask around before going with it.

kitava's thirst volatile dead build help

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 05:49 PM PDT

Hi, i'm a poor (both in the sense that I have low currency and that I suck) player that would like help creating a build centered around a concept I find nice:

Using Volatile dead socketed in kitava's thirst, while spamming costly unearth as fast as possible.

For class, I was thinking trickster to be better able to spam my skill and for some defense

For the tree im at a loss, i was thinking going no crit with ele overload since crit cost more

I have a pledge of have i could use to shoot more corpse and up the mana cost , while boosting my mana but other than that i dont know what would be good items

    Any help would be appreciate

Need advice with winter orb build problems

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 01:33 PM PDT

    Hey there.

Ive been trying Worb for the first time on synthesis and ive reached a point where i need some help from someone more knowledgeable than me on this kind of builds.

    My character: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Dalmoxix/characters

-I feel SO squishy, even with 6,5k hp im suffering on yellow maps as soon as i hit a somehow damaging mod. Im pretty sure i should be able to do most contents with this pool, am i missing something important?

-Mob clear is awesome. I have a bisco leash i swap in for the rampage and zoom around with mostly everything shattering and its extremely sattisfying, but anything slightly more tanky than a normal mob i struggle to kill. God forbid multiple phases enemies where i cant use my vaal RF/BV. What could i do to pump my single target damage?

Im seriously considering rolling another char to clear anything higher than yellow maps cause getting insta-gibbed by everything is killing the mood fast, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Spectre-suspicious noob, but very into Soulwrest gameplay

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 05:11 PM PDT

    Hey, Rhykker. This is folks.

I'm a Diablo 2 Necro fanatic, and I've recently become enamored with this game. I've done a lot of reading since I started this weekend. I'm level 65, double ascended, and I have a Soulwrest. As soon as I cast my corpse eating spell and got a fat stack of baller phantoms, I was hooked. I want to make a two click build based on phantoms and either zombies or skeletons.

The problem I have is that every build I look up involving Soulwrest also calls for spectres. From what I've seen that looks like a very lame thing to have to manage for a person who plans to die semi-regularly. I might even be opposed to that on principle.

My question is: how annoying is it? Can I build without it? If I build with it, do I need to re-max my spectres every time I die?

Looking for a SSF, relaxed, all Content build

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 11:47 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

the last time I played was in beta and now I want to take a look again at PoE. I'll be playing SSF.

What I'm looking for is a pretty relaxed / lazy to play build. Which means I'd like to use not more than 2 skills and automate the rest (CWDT or auras or curse on hit). So 1 movement skill and 1 attack skill which I don't have to sitch for boss fights or normal clearing.

I play on a slow laptop so it shouldn't be one of those zoom, zoom builds where you are in all places at the same time and going at the speed of light 😊 I know that with these requirements I won't get the Uber Boss killer and map destroyer but it should be a build that allows me to clear all the content regardless. I'm also not a fan of glasscannon playstyle, more like tank/spellcaster with a shield for example (old D2 Paladin). tanky and healthy with good damage

At the moment I started a Chieftain lvl 42 with Ancestral Warchief because totem build was one of my chars back in the days and I like the playstyle. I follow this guide (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1694250). Would there be a way to tweak the build to be a bit more on the lazy side. What I mean is to reduce the number of active skills as I can't be bothered to use them anyway so might as well replace stuff all together.

Or if there is a char/build that would fit into the style that I'm looking for I'd reroll to that right away.

    thanks

Help with my Tornado Shot build

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 02:52 PM PDT

Can anybody please help me out on what I could do to improve my build? I'm barely doing enough damage to get past tier 3, and my health is 2.9k. Any help would be appreciated! I'm trying to get health on my jewels right now, but it's quite expensive.. I'm also looking for things I can do to improve my build in the best way possible. I'm also looking to get a Windripper.

    Uber Lab problem

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 10:35 AM PDT

So I had zero luck last season with the Trial of Crippling Grief spawning in maps. I checked my trial list after the season ended and it told me that all trials had been completed but I was still not able to open Uber Lab. I know that I still probably need to complete the missing trial but is there a way to reset the trial list so it accurately reflects my completed & missing trials?

    RF Mana Guardian

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 07:42 AM PDT

    Hi all

I've leveled a Divine Ire Inquis and I'm playing with some Occultists most of the time, so I'm thinking of respeccing into a mana guardian to support them and hopefully progress a bit further.

    My questions are;

    • Is RF viable solo on a mana guardian (so i can still play alone too). Doesn't need to be the fastest mapper or anything, just not stupidly rubbish.

    • How much ES am I likely to be sharing (I know it depends on gear, so rough numberrs)

    • How many auras am I likely to fit (presume I get more with LL?)

I'm not completely committed to this just yet - thinking I'll save up for a Shavs first - I just want you guys to tell me it's not a terrible idea :)

(bonus question - if you have any build guides etc, that would be super appreciated, at the moment I'm just looking at poe.ninja, but that doesn't tell me much about how the build performs..)

    Cheers x

    Double Strike Phase Acrobatics/Evasion Build?

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 06:06 AM PDT

Can't plug into PoB (at work)...

Thinking a dodge/evasion based melee double striker sounds fun as hell. Concerned about how much it will suck in current status but whatever.

Thought is to stack evasion and life. The rest goes to damage with a focus on crit Chance/crit multi for maxing our champion ascendency.

Should need about 60-80 int or so on gear.

Besides double strike and auras, I picture most of the gems being dedicated to move and not dying.

Here is a mock-up of the tree on POEMate:

    http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAQDAAHcA4cFLQYgBqIMcw2NEPAR1RQgFHEV7BfcG0YbqiP2KCouUzBxMHwxsDIJNZI31DiWOkI64UMxR35KfUt4TP9Nkk3jTipQR1FHV5dbr1z5XotfP2BBYxdjcGRaZU1nm2hla9RsRm87cmx0oHTtdit2rHfjeA15aH11gIqBOoIHg72ElITZhVKHdorwi0-Lpo19jb-VZpd5m2qjiqZXqW6qza2NsbO18rcXuR29Nr6nwBrBBMEHxyrKkMv1z37Tb9N-1CPUUtZY137Yvdlh2Xzawdy93ajeh-RR5ojnD-lG6hjsXO0_7g7vDvAm8kXyWvPd90346_zF_gr-j_66AAAAAA==

    Would love some feedback.

New to game, need help progressing into endgame content

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 01:24 PM PDT

I picked up PoE about two weeks ago and already put 60ish hours in the game. With all its complexity, I decided to find a content creator on youtube and stick to something that looks fun and has an outline in order to enjoy all content.

Having looked at couple of videos, I chose vaal double strike build shown by Mathil. And it has been an absolute blast to play. I found it highly enjoyable to zoom around on whirling blades and explode packs of mobs with all the explosions.

However, I am getting to a roadblock where my 3.6k hp is becoming too little to do things. I am starting to do ~T5 maps and the health simply jumps far too much in most situations. I understand that most melee builds are essentially kill or be killed, but I was wondering what steps I need to take to improve and have a chance on seeing all endgame content.

I terms of currency available, I have 20chaos and a bunch of other currency that is lying in stash that I am not sure how to convert/count (e.g. 15vaal, bunch of fusings, alchemy etc.). Overall, my currency management is non-existent. I just offload everything I find in one tab and leave it there. I used trading websites to sell 6-linked robe for 10c, and bought the claws essential for the build, but that is about it in terms of my trading knowledge.

I would appreciate any advice on what to do next. Here is my character: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Skimzz/characters?characterName=DonEscobar

The goal that I currently set myself is to farm enough chaos orbs to buy Offering to the Serpent gloves (~50c) that would allow overleech, hoping that it would solve some of my survivablity issues, but I am not sure.

    Templar summoner ideas?

    Posted: 20 Mar 2019 12:53 PM PDT

I new back and decided to give summoner a spin as a Templar since I had always played witches.

I wasn't thinking much til I hit 30ish and realized I hadn't looked at the 3 specialization classes for Templar.

I could easily start over as witch for a traditional summoner but what could I do with this Templar? I've mostly.just gotten the damage+minion damage nodes and personal health nodes so far.

Anything I can make this into that doesn't require a kit of uniques to work?
