    I've recently improved my toolchain, which enabled me to create more and new filter features. So, this update brings tiering changes and minor improvements as usual, but also one of the said new features:

    I've recently seen, a thread on reddit, about the console community listing some of the PoE-console-specific QoL problems. One of them being the lack of true filter customization. They do get the default filter and my 7 basic filters, but can't change those. Now the problem is their gameplay is pretty different (they can loot easily, but not precisely).

    So after talking to /u/Bex_GGG, who confirmed that they can deliver the filters to the consoles in one of the upcoming updates and to the poe-console-discord community, I've designed and deployed these 5 new strictnesses with this update, that will hopefully be an improvements to the console gameplay. ( Note: I don't know when GGG will patch these onto XBOX/PS4 )

    PS: These filters can also be used by PC players and can be found on my github in the folder (Console-Strictness). That being said, they're very easy to recreate on www.filterblade.xyz and frankly I believe the default set is much better suited for PC.     Filter and Styleversions

    Strictness-es are filter configurations the affect how much/little a filter shows. The general rule is that: as you clear faster, you want to pick up less, because in the time you'd take care of a higher quantity of items, you can kill more monsters and get a higher chance at rare loot. You can start with Regular/Semi-Strict first (great for new players and leagues) and simply up the strictness from the option menu, once you feel like you want to see less.

    Nr Name Short Description
    0 Soft Shows too much. Includes low crafting bases, magic jewellery in the endgame. Not recommended for regular gameplay.
    1 Regular Shows a lot. Recommended for beginners, new leagues and slow-clearing gameplay. Shows all rares. Good for chaos recipes.
    2 Semi-Strict Healthy balance. Great for new leagues and beginners and medium-speed endgame gameplay. Hides the worst rares. Good for chaos recipes.
    3 Strict Hides bad-base rares and scrolls. Universal and recommended endgame strictness. Hides random gems (hold alt in the first zone if you level with it). Bad for chaos recipes.
    4 Very Strict Hides most rares, scrolls, augments, armourers. Good for the endgame and for speed-farming.
    5 Uber Strict Hides all low currencies and rares. Great for quantity-farmers.
    6 Uber+ Strict Shows too little. Sterile screen. Hides all kind of stuff, including mediocre divination cards, all kind of crafting material etc. Recommended for speed-clearing quantity-parties or as a base for further editing. Not recommended for regular gameplay.

    Styles have no effect on how strict the filter is, but change the visual and audio configuration. Find one that pleases your eye most or make your own on www.filterblade.xyz

    Style Description
    Default The normal style. It uses a wide variety of colors and shadings to inform users about the drop type, value and properties.
    Slick A less colorful version of the normal style.
    Gaia (full restyle) Gaia is a nature-inspired style. It uses less colors, but is still very cheerful.
    Vaal (full restyle) A brick, corruption, blood and gore styled filter.
    Velvet (full restyle) Soft green, blue, grey and pink hues, this filter is inspired by oceanic and royal colorsets.
    Blue Minor changes. Changes the color of rares to blue.
    Purple Minor changes. Changes the color of rares to purple.
    Azurite A new (experimental style) - it's like a DOUBLE purple/cyan style!
    CustomSounds Special style. The visuals are based of default, but the sounds are different and are provided in mp3 files. You have to copy the mp3 files too for the filter to work. You can also replace the sounds with your own mp3's to create your own soundset.

    I don't have fun playing PoE lately, but I miss playing it, what should I do?

    Simply put the the patterns in which the content is placed, and therefore some of the content itself, drives me to boredom.

    At first I simply had problems with leveling up new characters. Thats a chore and it always will be to me, but I could put that behind me easily, in the end once leveled up the fun begins.

    But then came all the player agency issues that you all already know too well with the expansions from Bestiary and beyond; the usual "I don't want to feel like I'm skipping content, I want to feel like I am actually in control of the content I experience".

    And then came the fact that I had to re-"learn" all the crafting recepies every league. It may sound like nothing to some, but for me it was he tipping point. I quit Synthesis league like within the first week. I was thinking of joining in the Flashback "race" just because I enjoy those, but I don't even know if I will.

    And before people start assuming this; no, I don't have a problem with grinding games. I played Lineage 2 ffs, now that's grinding. But at least that grinding felt like it had a purpouse, a goal, even if it was an obscene amount of it.

    In PoE right now I feel like I am grinding for no rewards and virtually no reason at all; grinding different pieces of content by miniscule amounts at a time because, of curse, its a grinding game and "too many rewards might harm the economy", but having no agency into it feels like I'm progressing a millimeter every day into too many directions at a time and I can't focus whatsoever, and then every 3 months I have to do it all over again. And don't even try to suggest playing Standard.

    At least in other aRPGs or MMOs I can decide in which zone/area of content I want to go and do that at no cost! If anything I am rewarded all the time depending on my success, and I feel like I achieved something for my character during that day.

    I don't feel like that in PoE anymore.

    Sure I can buy scarabs, but is that the way everything is gonna go from this point forward? Everything to grind for a month to buy and hoard scarabs so that for less than a week I can enjoy some specific content?

    Before, simply having access to maps and progressing throu the atlas was enough, because it meant I had access to all the juicy abyss/beyond/breach stuff, which is not something you have to grind in itself; its something that spices up your main grinding.

    Now I have to grind 5 different UIs and its a slow ass grind with what I feel are meager rewards and meaningless progress, but that might just be me.

    Even if I end up at the end of the league with 1-2 mirrors worth of items, I feel like I accomplished nothing.

    Sure I maxxed out a character or two, but so what?

    The process in which I did so didn't entertain me that much, if anything it exhausted me, having to mentally track and keep up everything to manage the progression of my equipement and of the different UIs(Whats the state/stage of my syndacate? of my Temple? Of my Delve? Of my Nexus? Of my Beasts? etc.etc.).

    So I wanted to ask to you folks: ***What should I do to enjoy PoE more? Do you have any advice?***I miss playing it, theres no game quite like it. I have been killing some time playing other kinds of games(Overwatch, Rimworld, etc.) thinking "oh I'll just take a break and in no time I'll be craving PoE again", but while I miss having fun in PoE, these feelings about the game haven't changed.

    Sorry for any syntaxt or grammatical errors, I am too sleepy but I wanted to write this.

    P.S: This is not meant to be a complaint towards GGG. I understand that balancing a game is hard work and that even if players might seem to have all the answers(and they act condescending and know-it-all as fuck about it. Gamers, entitled? Never!), sometimes something might not align with their plans, or they might be afraid of taking too many bold moves at a time. I don't like it, but it be like that sometimes. I wish GGG good luck no matter what, because they created an unique game and they seem to really care for it beyond the profit motive, and in this day and age, not being alienated from the product of your labour and working with something you are passionate about is a rare priviledge.

    I simply shared what I feel about the game, in hopes that it resonates with somebody and that I might receive some tips on how to get back at enjoying PoE.

    Just a reminder to GGG: when you're trying to 'fix' melee, don't forget about how horribly anti-melee enemies are.

    This is an issue that's just been growing and growing, and you're not gonna be able to fix true melee without addressing it.

    Seems like every league introduces more and more enemies and mechanics that are significantly more punitive to close-range than distance.

    This league it was mainly offscreening enemies and persistent damage zones... while the ranged builds get to stand wherever's safe while maintaining dps and can take out enemies before they're peppered with projectiles from offscreen, the melees have to carefully mind their footing, shut down their dps (and leech) until there's somewhere safe to stand near the enemy, and soak or avoid attacks from offscreen while moving into range of their targets.

    And there's plenty of other prominent issues of the sort... purely melee enemies like colossal bonestalkers that do ridiculously high damage but only if they're up close, wind-up skills like Korrel's or Phoenix's explosions that melees have to back out of range for and wait to finish while the ranged get to back off and keep up their dps, close-range dps 'auras' like brine king's, enemies that run or teleport away so melees have to waste time and dps chasing them around... you get the point.

    And I won't pretend like i've got all the answers, but these are things that need to be remedied for melee to return to any sort of prominence. Melees are expected to absorb substantially more inevitable damage and work significantly harder at staying both in range and out of harm, while melee defenses really aren't any different than what ranged can get if they want to at the same opportunity cost (people just tend to think of ranged as squishier because they don't need to pick up those defenses, not because they can't).

    And it might take more than raw buffs to melee... let's be real, this might require nerfs to ranged skills - nerfs to skills' damage based on potential range, nerfs to their attack/cast times to force more difficult kiting decisions, nerfs to max projectile range, etc, all to open up design space to rebalance enemies or give melees a tangible dps edge.

    It might take readjusting a lot of enemies, giving them (bosses especially) more threatening attacks that they'll only use at a distance or some kinda retaliatory-style attacks they'll only use if they're hit by spells/projectiles enough.

    And it might take offering lower opportunity cost defenses to melees, maybe adding high-efficiency passive clusters with melee damage (not damage with melee weapons) plus defenses of one sort or another (life, armor, block, dodge, fortify effect, etc). Or perhaps rework fortify to be more accessible to melee attacks without much opportunity cost and give it weaker base effect that gets amplified a lot if you haven't dealt non-melee/ailment damage or had a proxy deal damage in the past x seconds (maybe exempt certain potentially-melee-aligned sources of damage from breaking that, like the heralds of ash's effect, or infernal blow and molten shell explosions, or herald of purity and dominating blow minions).

    Anyway, point is it's not just an issue of dps or clunkiness, the massive threat gap between melees and ranged needs to be lowered or properly counterbalanced or else this melee rework isn't gonna hit home.

    This was the last item I needed for my first PoE character. No one on the board had prices listed, and as a newbie the whole currency thing has been pretty overwhelming. I've looked up resources for market value, and attempted to get a better grip on it, but have been met with limited success and harsh words in equal measure.

    ANYWAY, here I am -after my fourth rejected offer- when I decide to message back and ask how much they need, and explain my situation. When the offer came back, all that was asked of me was a measly 5c more. I was elated to find someone willing to work with me, but equally mortified at the realization that I only had 1c left, (a lucky drop on my way back to town.) Scrambling for my phone, I look up which currencies I had that could possibly add up, sent an offer with an apology, and expected yet another rejection.

    But, you didn't.

    You went out of your way to accept an offering of 7 different currency, what would likely be a pain to exchange for your desired chaos, just to help me out.

    This probably seems like a bunch of melodramatic fluff, but that little gesture meant a lot to me tonight. I can't find a way to message you, whoever you were, but if you see this,

    Preface: no bloodstained fossils were hurt in the making of this build.

    First, how the build plays (sorry for the keyboard noise, thought I muted my mic): - Average T16 run - Mom: No, we have headhunter at home - Synthesis Boss 1 mods - Synthesis Boss 2 - Rusty Uber Elder

    The Synthesis staff mod 'Ignites you inflict deal Damage (30–35)% faster' serves basically as an additional link as implicit, which led me to play around with an ignite build which has acceptable clear speed but can still kill bosses. I want to highlight the build since it will be much weaker after Synthesis is gone; maybe some people want to try it out in Flashback (although I would not recommend it as starter build).

    PoB

    All of the power of the build comes from the staff. Since faster ignite ticks are not implemented by PoB I added a working mod with 49% manually to the staff (staff implicit + Watcher's Eye). It was pretty easy to craft the staff since there were enough 3mod fractured staffs with burning damage on the market, obviously this might change. Besides that, the only real expensive item is lvl 4 empower (and HH of course, but that's only for runspeed). Single target can further be improved by adding wave of conviction totems for the exposure debuff. If you do not have a HH a good belt with resists helps out and instead you can use Yoke of Suffering to further improve single target damage.

    The build is not completely optimized and I would expect there are still enough ways to push it further (e.g. Aul amulet to get rid of essence worm, different evasion chest) but I prefer my builds being on the cheaper side.

    [Discussion] Suggestion - A QoL to Trade without adding AH

    How about one of the master offer some kind of tent to sell, so you can add it to your hideout, in this tent you can add the tabs from your stash, so when you add a tab from your stash you cant use it on the chest anymore. (So no duplicate stash tabs ).

    Now the items you add to sell there function like a NPC sell window, you still need to mark the itens to sell like normal stash, people still need to use the website, people still need to PM you. The difference is that they just need to enter your hideout and buy the item from this tent, so you dont need to stop delving/mapping to trade, and the person can check for other items at the same time. Exemple: he is buying hydra map, them he sees you have phoenix and minotaur too selling he can buy it without need to PM->party invite -> join hideout and you dont need to stop playing the game to trade with him

    Running tornado shot/barrage ranger build, with Herald of Ice. Found this ring, and it was a huge upgrade, it converts 40% of cold damage to fire, among other things.

    Anyways, running around killing stuff SO much faster and what happens? Blue screen error. Ok, try again. Blue screen again. Anyone else run into similar issues on the PS4 version?

    Edit: Turned off HoI and haven't had issues. Seems like the game can't handle the conversion of cold to fire DPS and just force closes.
