They start with 40+ unallocated points and can be deleted and re-created at will. They even log directly into your hideout.

Putting Timeless jewels into unallocated Sockets

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 02:55 AM PDT

The randomness and unpredictability of Timeless Jewels really is a tad bit too much in a game that incentivizes and heavily rewards a well planned approach.

Therefore I suggest an exception: the ability to put Timeless Jewels into sockets that aren't allocated so one can check every possibility of his own Jewel and maybe plan a build around it. Obviously they wouldn't grant anything but they would activate the radius and show what kind of changes they'd apply.

It is already possible to have Jewels be placed into Sockets that aren't allocated. We see that every time a full passive tree reset is being granted.

Is anyone from Brazil (or other countries) going to ExileCon alone?

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 10:36 AM PDT

    Hi Guys,

I bought a ticket to exilecon, but due to work issues my wife won't be going with me to New Zealand (she wouldn't go to the con, but we were planning to do some tourism in the spare time).

So I'll be in New Zealand by myself. So, just wondering if other fellow Brazilians or people from far away countries are going alone so we at least can plan something.

I'll be arriving early on Wednesday 13th and leaving in the evening on Friday 22th, I bought the VIP ticket so there is dinner on Friday. So I plan to spend this first week on Auckland knowing the city and doing some local tourism (still have to check what I'll do).

On the second week I plan to go to hobbiton + Waitomo caves and what else is good near Auckland.

So if anyone is going alone and don't have anyone to hang out post it here and let's see what we can plan together.

I really don't understand this game at all.

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 08:19 AM PDT

Every league I play and thoroughly enjoy myself up until I start maps. For some reason maps and the early mid game just destroy me, and I can never figure out why. This league, I made an Assassin. I have 3.5k life, 2.5k ES, Cloak of Defiance with 1.4k unreserved mana, each resist over 100 in the event of elemental weakness or whatever.

Last night I was in a T2 map, absolutely crushing mobs as I normally do. I see an Alva, which I love doing, start the incurision. Kill the upgrade guy no problem and I am clearing the rest. I open a door and immediately die. From full ES, Life and Mana to dead in .3 seconds.

I just sat there staring at the screen, a room full of those shooty plant dudes staring at my dead corpse. A feeling washed over me, of utter defeat. Sure, I'm playing SC so I can just respawn and go again. But its so frustrating. Whats the point? I cant even live through a T2 incurision?

I was in the Pen the night before, same character. I killed the boss super fast and the gates opened to release his little hounds, a few rares and a bunch of whites. I don't know what auras they had, but they came out like my dog after seeing me for the first time after being gone for work for a week. Like, the gates opened, I blinked and I was dead. They had haste, phys damage aura and who knows what else.

ANd this is what I don't understand, 99% of the game I can play without frustration or ridiculous deaths. Not to say that its easy, but I'm not going from 100->0 in less time than it takes to clear my throat. Like fighting Izaro. I'm dodging, managing flask, deciding if I want more keys or just want to unlock my ascendency. These fights are enjoyable.

    What am I doing wrong?

[Actual unpopular opinion] Trade is broken, but the people complaining the loudest are the ones who interact with it in the worst way.

    Posted: 23 Jun 2019 01:57 PM PDT

The trade API is not able to keep up with the massive load which causes indexing sites to keep items listed for up to several hours after they are sold. This is not news to anyone who has played the last few leagues.

    Obviously this is bad.

Obviously this needs to be fixed asap.

Until this is fixed you should take some precautions for your own sanity. I see a lot of comments like "I have been trying to buy x item for 10 minutes and nobody is responding" or "95% of people I whisper this league are not responding". Honestly if this is your experience and you haven't adapted the way you trade yet you're just self-flogging at this point. You can cut down on frustration and annoying downtime with one simple trick.

Stop spending 10 minutes to save 2c

Your time is valuable, especially in this league where even running white maps with bad gear is 100c+ an hour.

If you're buying a popular unique, maps, fossils, currency or anything else that has a high trade volume then assume none of the cheap ones are worth whispering. If one of these items gets listed at or below market value they get picked up instantly by someone (or something, beep boop) who is faster than you. The seller then gets bombarded by whispers for up to hours while the slow API struggles to clear it.

The first page is essentially a history of all the under priced ones listed and immediately sold for the last hours.

I've made the mistake of listing a Tabula at 9c and I'm not exaggerating when I say that I got hundreds of whispers before I enabled dnd. If if had to type "sold" to everyone I would not be able to play the game. If you need one, put your minimum bid higher. I just tested this and got a tabula for 13c from the first whisper.

How To Be All Elemental Ailment and Stun Immune On Any Build

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 03:47 AM PDT

Apparently ailment (beyond just freeze, which you can cancel with a flask) immunity is a big deal for a lot of people, but they typically rely on either their ascendancy or some uniques to get it. However, it's quite feasible (and yes, cheap) to get this on ANY build, regardless of ascendancy, if you know what to look for. PoE has so many crafts and passive nodes by this point that many seem to fly under the radar, so this post is an attempt to highlight a couple of them. Also, I'm deliberately excluding any methods that are tied to some sort of condition - there are LOADS of ways to do this that specify some requirement or trigger or require you to do something to have it - these are not mentioned here, only Always On Immunity. So...

    Elemental Ailment Immunity

You can get elemental ailment immunity on any build just by taking the Crystal Skin passive cluster between Duelist and Ranger and then crafting two of the '25% Chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments' suffixes onto your gloves and helm. BAM! You're now immune to Chill, Freeze, Shock and Ignite at the cost of 5 passive points and two suffixes on gear. Can even make it 4 passive points if you drop the Ignite node, since that rarely matters. And yes, it makes you immune to the relevant ground effect as well.

Also, that craft is a regular one i.e. it falls under Helena - you get it from maps - so no need to worry about it being part of Jun's bs veiled mod unlock system. If you ARE willing to rely on those crafts, not that Jun also offers upto 35% Chance to Avoid BOTH Elemental Ailments AND Stun as a craft for body armors.

    Stun Immunity

Now for stun, the relevant power passives are the Heart of Oak cluster in the Ranger area (it also gives life!). That gets you 36% stun avoidance for 3 points. Now you can either use multi-modding to craft Helena's 25% stun avoidance mod (also on gloves and helms) OR save yourself an affix by instead putting Jun's 35% stun avoidance mod on your chest. That leaves you a bit short of 100%, however, in comes one of the least valued mods on Abyss jewels to cap out your avoidance (Abyss jewels can roll upto 10% stun avoidance, and it's usually not valued and hence cheap). Btw, jewels can also roll upto 10% of each elemental ailment avoidance, but imo it's far more feasible to just use the Crystal Skin cluster for that rather than slotting in tons of jewel sockets.

    Worth?

Now, the question arises as to whether this is worth it (and I'm going to assume here that you're not playing an ascendancy or using a unique that grants you these bonuses as part of the package). Well, if you go with the Jun chest armor craft for stuns, the final cost to be immune to both all elemental ailments and stun is 8 passive points (they also give 8% life, 1% life regen, 4% movespeed, 10% ele resists, 5% chance to avoid ele damage when hit and 5% reduced ele damage taken), three affix slots on gloves, helm and body armour and 1 affix on 3 of your jewels. I'll leave you all to decide if that's a worthwhile investment. You can, of course, invest less for less protection, such as only removing ailments or only being stun immune or dropping the ignite node, etc.

If you know of any other, better strategies, feel free to share them below. But please remember the spirit of this post - always on immunity and universal access i.e. nothing tied to specific ascendancies, skills or uniques or that requires some kind of condition, action or trigger to enable it (unless said trigger or action is naturally always up, such as whenever you're attacking, for instance). Cheers! :)

PoE PvP Mode: Fucking with the Price fixers.

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 12:50 AM PDT

TL;DWR: I wanted to buy Beachheads t15 for power leveling, found out they are price fixed, used live search on 3 websites to inform ever new listing its price fixed and offer them correct price and bought it. At the same time I listed one for a low price(just below the price fixer) and invited every price fixing item sniper and made them sit in my hideout.

Edit: Since most people keep saying that it maybe genuine folks whose time I wasted, it was always the exact same 7-8 people and they always whispered before and sat in hideout, left. And repeated the cycle, if they were human they were would have understood it the first time around, not do the same thing 7 times in a row.

So I have seen slightly laggy for the last few (yeah aren't we all?) and pretty much dying alot so I decided to power level a bit in t15 beachhead, its fine if it costs me a bit (I am not MF so theres a bit of a net loss each run) but atleast I won't keep losing progress to desyncs. At first everything was fine and got to buy a decent chunk then I started to see 1 person with a huge number of listing for a price lower, I pmed, no answer, realized its a price fixing attempted, added to ignore list moved on to buying from the next folks. Finished my sets come back, there's a new guy doing the same, even lower. Repeat process. The third was messed up, when I ignored this guy it changed total result done to 48 for beachhead t15. Everyone else was either afk or way overpriced. So i decided to play the same game they play, live snipe. But instead of scamming I told them its being price fixed and offered them the correct price. Many were thankful and some even gave me a discount for the headsup. But I wasn't done, everyone knows how boring it can be to run beachhead, so instead while I ran it I listed one for 1c less than the price fixers, instant spam, invites what not, so i accepted invite, invited EVERYONE OF EM I COULD. And then I made them sit in my hideout, they would spam but I just ignored them and kept grinding away. After each map I would swap out and list a new one and boom the cycle repeats itself!

10/10 free entertainment while doing boring maps, while they waited for me I pmed everyone I got on live search that its price fixed (sadly I am not rich enough to buy out all of em lol) . Takes a few seconds of alt tabbing, wastes time and currency of the scum that made trading worse than it already is.
