    Exilecon was amazing

    Dear Chris,

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 08:35 PM PST

Exilecon was amazing. Your team showcased absolutely amazing content and you were a great host. Please don't focus on the small things that "were embarrassing." (As you said walking off stage with a live mic) We know it was your first event, and you all knocked it out of the park. Your showing was better than any other high production value event I've seen in years. You are all genuine about your passion, and it drives each of us to continue playing.

Take a breath my rap god your team killed it.

Consider not working with Twitch for promotions in the future. They've really dropped the ball here.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 05:10 PM PST

If Twitch isn't a reliable partner - and it would indeed appear that there is a significant undercount of eligible viewers - it might be prudent to discontinue working with them for promotions. If GGG paid Twitch to help promote the game, I hope that money is refunded.

Instead of getting people excited for launch, this botched promotion has distracted from launch. Chat is talking about little else but '0 drops' and it's pulling focus from what is largely genuinely exciting content. I understand that it's 'free' stuff, but time is also a currency, and many of your fans spent that time with an understanding you gave them that they could spend 5.5 hours on average to get something to celebrate and remember the event by. Many have been foolish enough to watch for the entire stream yesterday and to then today double the rates from there and have it still not working for far too many for one of either the math or rules of eligibility to be accurate - well it risks cutting into GGG's well-earned credibility as a company that does right by its fans. That's a real shame as this is very likely Twitch's fault here.

Please consider doing promotions directly in client instead of working with Twitch in the future. It wasn't worth it this time.

I'm really glad we had no leaks!

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 11:58 AM PST

The announcements were awesome and not knowing anything before just made it so much better. Discovering the news all at the same time in the way it was intended made was really exciting.

Thank you for not leaking anything!

It's because of you GGG that people still have faith in the industry

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 06:16 AM PST

Hi guys, just my 2 cents here, is going to be a long post, dont complain i didnt warn you!

For years i never felit like going to a CON of any company, everything is super staged, everything feels artificial and like they are overreacting on what they say just sell to you stuff, of course they have to follow a script of what to show, but if you see the way GGG replied the questions from everyone and tried to explain what they do, how they do it and why they do it, you can tell they are being completely honest and happy to share it with everyone.

Sadly i couldnt go this year due to serious personal reasons, but im hoping to go to the next one if they repeat it.

Yes, the MTX are really expensive compared to other games (Crucicle pack owner here, cant avoid it, just love it) but i always tell people: "Guys, the whole gameplay is completely free, even if you spend money for the currency tab, they will keep upgrading it with new currency for free, in any other game they would charge you extra for those extra 3-4 new currency slots, come on"

When you think about stuff like this, the quality of the expansions, the constant improvements and how they care and maintain the new gameplay mechanics, i cant avoid but to feel like "guys, you deserve everything, just take my money already". So please GGG dont be afraid of trying new things, we'll be here and we know you always do your best.

Sure, sometimes some things doesnt work as expected, but thats completely fine, just move on and try to find a way to make it fit in (Bestiary is a prime example of that).

I've been playing this game for a long, long time, i would say 7 years already, and i never felt dissapointed about Chris or the rest of the staff of GGG, think for example the blight performance issues, i was sure at some point Chris or Jonathan would post something explaining current situation back then, and they didnt do it just once, but several times in fact, which companies does this? maybe 2 or 3 more max? Im not even sure there is a single one who really cares that much like this guys do, and im pretty sure everyone could feel it during the ExileCon, and im sure everyone felt proud if being part of this community.

When i play other games in fact, and there is a huge mechanic issue or a game breaking bug, im so used to GGG way of dealing with it that i just feel desperated when i see over 2 weeks passed and they are still not fixed, you spoiled us here GGG :p

Another example of this was recently at the ExileCon, for people who didnt watch the stream, there was a point where someone asked Chris about the business model of the PoE Mobile, and if i recall correctly (was later than 2 am for me sorry) he said something like "We dont care about benefits from the mobile version, we care about pc players being happy" and i remember the interviewer (i think it was Zizaran) his face like "wow thats an amazing answer".

I always tell people that POE is like your best friend who will always be there, while other games are people you meet one or twice to have a couple of beers, and i dont think i will ever change my mind.

Thank you for what you do Chris, Jonathan, Erik , Bex, Neon and everyone involved in POE, you are an example of how to create games in a proper way, and how to treat players like friends, not like consumers that you have to convince to buy your product.

Sorry for the long post! Just felt like sharing my feelings with you guys.

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 02:39 AM PST

(I hope I didn't miss anyone who spoke on stream)

Initially I wasn't going to watch the whole thing but I got hooked when they showed the trailer for POE2 and just couldn't stop watching once the next segment started.

I think all of them spoke really well and gave good answers & explanations. I enjoyed the nervousness and pauses in their answers, It felt a lot more real than what you see from other games and you can tell they're all proud of what they have worked on. They also spoke well for the GGG staff who didn't appear. I can't wait to catch the VODs of the non streamed stuff as well.

So yeah. Really awesome event made possible by everyone who works on the game and worked on setting up exilecon. I legitimately had a blast watching it from home. Your creativity and commitment is impressive. Thank you.

    Official Tie23 fan club thread

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 08:07 PM PST

Overheard in the exilecon lobby after act 5: "He got me," Havoc said of Tie's dunk over him. "That f***ing Tie boomed me." Havoc added, "He's so good," repeating it four times. Havoc then said he wanted to add Tie to the list of players he works out with this summer.

I fucking loved the entire con, watching online the whole weekend. Please make it an annual thing!

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 08:25 PM PST

Thank you so much for putting on the con GGG! It was amazing!

Edit: Ok, maybe every 2 years or just when there's something big to justify it. For now. GGG is about half the size of Digital Extremes, who make Warframe and put on a yearly con. Maybe 4 or 5 years from now GGG can start doing a yearly con.
