    Strong shadow build

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 01:10 AM PST

Hey guys I got really lucky and found a mirror! Looking for the strongest shadow build I can afford to make. Looking for something with high dps and is tanky enough to do max Sirus. Clear speed I'd want something decent but doesn't have to be lightning fast. I don't mind mines (currently life-based arc miner) if that's something I can make tanky.

Feeling Weak with Decent Equip CoC Cyclone VD

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:33 PM PST

Hi guys, I saw a few videos with people running CoC Cyclone VD and wanted to copy them. I changed my CoC Cyclone Ice nova build and gear as much as I could've to match the builds I see on Poeninja. I ended up with:

However I still feel very very weak. Is there any noticeable gear I should upgrade?

I want to play something Melee (Marauder or Duelist) but not sure what will be good for bossing.

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 04:43 PM PST

I haven't played a melee build before and I've accumulated some decent melee pieces (and currency; current budget is around 10-11ex) over the course of playing my other builds this league. I'm looking to play something in either the Marauder or Duelist flavor, but leaning more towards Marauder as I've never played him or his ascendencies before.

Looking around on PoEBuilds and PoENinja it looks like most Marauder builds lean towards molten strike, ice crash, or tectonic slam. But I'm not sure if that's just PoENinja skewing it due to it only showing higher levels+delves. I actually got the weapons to drop earlier this week that are used in Molten Strike, but I haven't looked into much else for the build and what it requires. And then Duelist it looks like mostly bleed builds?

I mainly want to play something that isn't spin2win as I've already played a CoC-IceNova and CWC-VD character in this league already. They are both a ton of fun, but they are a little too rippy for the bosses I want to run. One wrong move or one unlucky dodge and I explode. My current build though is the HoAG mana-guardian which is fun because it doesn't die, but the dps feels a bit slower than other builds I'm used to playing.

    • What can get up and running (boss clearing) faster/cheaper between the Marauder and Duelist melee builds?
    • What is the playstyle difference between something like Molten Strike and Lacerate?
    • Ideally, I'd like to play something where I can leap-slam/flame-dash/whirling-blades my ass around maps and stop only to backhand groups of enemies with my weapons. I'm fine with having to pay attention and play boss mechanics as long as the single target doesn't feel as slow as my HoAG build. I'm just tired of spin2win at this point and I'd like to play something that lets me beat enemies about the head and face with angry weapons.

Wild Strike Elementalist (with a self-imposed restriction) looking for some assistance

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 12:04 AM PST

Firstly, the most important aspect, the restrictions.

I MUST USE A TWO-HANDED SWORD and I CANNOT USE A COMBAT FOCUS

Why this restriction? Witch has a cool pose with two-handed swords. That's it, just looking for that visual flair. I also run quad-Herald for a similar reason: I think they're pretty cool.

Here is my current PoB: https://pastebin.com/3ZBqrYVn

I'm sure this is rather optimized, as I don't have much experience with building characters yet (particularly witches!). Right now, the builds largest drawback is the obvious one: the defenses. The amount of life and energy shield from the tree and the (somewhat modestly crafted) gear leaves me with about 6k health that is unmitigated besides fortify and some other minor things. Damage, on the other hand, feels like it will scale nicely as I play and improve the build.

Basic gameplan for the build, as it stands, is to wild strike my way through whatever packs there may be, then alternate between Smite (to apply buffs and debuffs) and Wild Strike for bosses, along with placing the two Ancestral totems.

As I write this, I'm thinking about trying a separate tree setup that digs more into evasion rather than energy shield. May find some success there.

Would love to know ANYONE'S thoughts on the build, from uniques to use, tree changes to make, and mods to look out for.

In need of some tanky build ideas

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 11:21 PM PST

I have a lvl 96 arc miner with 40+ ex invested in it and I still have 80 deaths from mapping alone. Could already be atleast 99 maybe 100 and it drives me insane. Im looking to reroll to a way tankier build that can still dmg ouput/aoe clear for mapping. Any suggestions?

Theory on cyclone/bladestorm phys to ele duelist/marauder build

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 10:09 PM PST

On mobile sorry for formatting issues.

I was wanting a little bit of help on a possible build idea i was having.

I was looking at using duel story of the vaal blade, three faces ( idk I forget the name but the helmet that lets your fire shock, cold ignite and lightning chill) and either carcass Jack or inpulsa chest on either a duelist glad or possibly a marauder

The idea was to either go full physical and bleed or full physical and crit while converting all damage to fire lightning and cold with added fire, physical to lightning and a hatred. I would also throw in herald of ash but anyway I was wondering if anyone had any insight into a build like this or if it's just silly and shouldn't even be attempted.

I've been running a toxic rain build and love it but want to give another build a chance. I like to try and make a build for my second character of a league even though my builds usually suck I just do it for fun.

    Ranger Suggestion

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 04:59 PM PST

Ive got a Ranger to lvl 88 this season and im stuck, I have about 12 ex just wondering what build i can change to that would let me do most content (i'd like to do 36 challenges + sirus and what not). Ive tried Galv Arrow and Rain of Arrows, just felt too squishy and im too bad to survive with low HP i guess. Prefer not to reroll but I will if I have to, also not sure if Id like the summoner/totems/mines playstyle

Sort of stuck with my league starter. Considering a switch.

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:23 PM PST

My starter is a Ball Lightning Saboteur and its kne of my favorite league starters I've played. I'm only sitting at about 2.5k HP so I'm at the point to where I need to get tanker and it seems like low life is the way to go. My problem with that is I dont want to have to buy a presence of chayula and a 6L shave plus regear for energy shield. So I think I'm going to bench this character for now and try something with a little less damage but much more defensive capabilities. I've heard good things about bleed bow gladiators but I don't know what that market is looking like. I also know jugg is a tried and true ascendancy for tanky builds but I dont know what I'd build around. Does anyone else have some suggestions or experience with a tanky build that doesnt do millions of dps but can do enough to boss comfortably on the cheap?

Noob Asking: Best Builds for Blighted Maps T10+?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 06:38 PM PST

Right now I'm running a Toxic Rain Trickster build and have no problem with clears T16 alched maps (even if I die a couple times :/ ) But when it comes to higher tier blighted maps I can't seem to clear them at all. I really enjoy blighted maps but it's a total buzz kill when I can't complete them. Even though its probably a combination of my build not being invested into enough and me just being bad I wan't to roll another build anyway and was wondering what builds out there were really good for blighted maps, it would be cool if it was good at delving too.

What can I upgrade on my Mana Guardian to get more DPS out (incomplete build)

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 04:25 PM PST

Path of Building (for my character): https://pastebin.com/75L3gfMT

I'm running /u/hitmantb's mana guardian build and I've gotten most of the gear/jewels/flasks that were on the build guide. The only things I'm missing are the "+X to socketed gems" on some of the gear pieces, the HoAG ring, and a few min/max pieces (like getting better colors on my chest and replacing my belt/boots).

I have some EX to spend but im not sure what will get me the most benefit. I bought the chest I could afford at the time, so the socket colors aren't ideal (dont have a 2nd red for the Empower). But I also don't have the HoAG ring that provides more Crawler dps and lowers the reservation so I can throw on another aura (or skitterbots).

I'm still learning PoB so I'm not sure what to input into the tool to see what the dps/survivability differences these upgrades would have. But as it currently stands, I can tank most end-game bosses and maps without any issues, but my DPS feels a little lackluster. It takes me forever to kill any sort of boss above a certain tier. (basing my time-to-kill off other videos of Mana Guardian I've seen). I went up against the Synthesis Cortex boss earlier today and could not beat him with my current DPS. And any metamorph with leech+life-regen feels almost impossible.

    Question:

    • What do I upgrade first to get more dps out of my crawler? The chest (to get the correct colors for the 6 link), or the HoAG Circle of Nostalgia Ring? Or should I upgrade something else first, like my wand, gloves, boots, jewelry?

I'm having a ton of fun playing this build as it's the tankiest build I've ever played, I just need it to catch up in DPS. I can just facetank most things and bosses like the posion-conqueror are just laughable with the CI passive. I was able to eat a sandwich and fight him at the same time earlier today.

    Need help with tackling SSF...

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 04:14 PM PST

So, i have this toon https://pastebin.com/2Edp7f39 and the problem is that my aim was to get my chance to block to max, take Resolute Technique and get as much attack speed and general attack damage increased as possible alongside 190%+ish health.

What i'm trying to do seems unwise considering that i have no gear aside from a couple uniques like Hyaon's Fury and tabula. What do i do from here? I've just hit maps after finishing storyline. I have another character, a Hierophant and damage on that one is kinda on a low side even in white maps and i'm at fault there but totems don't really tick with me, i don't have ANY fun playing totems. I was bored as fuck just leveling that toon and just can't bother grinding content with it to get some currency/items.

thx for your time and suggestions.

Vaal Skills are still viable in 3.9? Help me to find a build.(20-30ex budget)

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 04:03 PM PST

So, I always liked to play strange builds like cast on weapon swap, vaal molten shell, wormblaster... but now im playing The saviour flicker strike and wanted to reroll to something else.

I saw the old 3.7 cero soul cost spectral throw and i wanted to play a vaal skill based build so i wanted to give it a try.. but halfway leveling i noticed its already nerfed (you cant get 0 soul cost anymore afaik).

Vid from the old build just in case you are curious:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-lRuTN40Aw

As result I have a lvl 50 pathfinder called "CPUStressTester" and a 20-30 ex budget but no build to follow :(

I was considering to play vaal storm call as an alternative ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-TBo83WDuE example vid) but maybe reddit have the build i`ve been waiting for.

So.. my next character and my exalt savings are in your hands, feel free to suggest any crazy build :D

Is it possible to mix it up as necro summoner without losing too much on efficiency?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 09:17 AM PST

Im thinking of starting out with a skeletons necro build (viperesque), but my major complaint is the playstyle.

I wish to focus on skeletons while also being a bit more engaged, either spamming SRS from the back, applying curses or something like corpse explosion (good ole D2 necro heh).

Can anyone comment why these are never used together, especially skellies (with zombies) + SRS?

Theyre both minions and phys damage?

First time playing necro so Im completely new to the class!

    Ele Hit(?) + Xoph's Blood

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 11:46 AM PST

I got a bit lucky and dropped a Demon card from a Stacked Deck and so I finally have enough currency to actually build a bow build. (Am I the only person that thinks that bow builds are stupid expensive?). I already have a Kaom's Heart and Xoph's Blood. I think that I could do some conversion shenanigans to do a lot of damage, but I'm not exactly sure how it would interact with ele hit. Is there a better skill that might add up to more damage overall (maybe something that just has high physical damage)? Also, would I be best rolling glad for it?

Is in game “chance to block %” more accurate than PoB? Help!

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 11:13 AM PST

So in game when I stand in front of mobs and let them hit me, I press C and watch the chance to block attack/spell % goes up to 79",

but in POB, the final percentage in config after everything including flasks is only 74% for attack and spell block.

    Which is more accurate? Thanks!
