    tldr: Python script here

    The script monitors the Client.txt log file, when you enter a zone that's in your list of maps that you absolutely do not want to run, it sends three notifications to make it absolutely clear to not run the map. Maps list is currently just set to a bunch of bad layouts, just change the list to maps that will brick your atlas strat.

    Usage instructions for Windows (not sure about mac)

    Install python

    1. Go to https://www.python.org/downloads/

    2. Download the most recent version "3.x.x"

    3. Run the install file

    4. On the "Install Python" screen, make sure "Add Python 3.x to PATH" is checked

    5. Click the "Install Now" button

    Run the script:

    1. Navigate to client.txt directory (mine is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\logs").

    2. Shift+right click an empty space in the window and click "Open PowerShell window here".

    3. Type "pip install win10toast" and press enter.

    4. Copy the pastebin into a file and call it whatever you want with the extension ".py". Something like "mapwatcher.py"

    5. If your Client.txt is more than 10 MB I'd suggest deleting the contents of it.

    6. In the powershell window type "py mapwatcher.py" and it should run.

    Increase the item pick-up range

    My suggestion is to increase the item pick-up range. I usually use a pretty strict filter showing splinters/currency and still I fine myself stutter stepping when I pick-up items, sometimes just pressing "Z" ( the button to hide/show loot) a few items fixes the issue. Most of the time my character will walk up/down/left/right as I click on the times, this usually cause me to miss click causing me to click more then I would like. I've noticed complaints of sore wrists/carpal tunnel caused from spam clicking items, I'm sure most of complaints are memes but they have a valid point. During the break between leagues I've been playing Diablo 2, I noticed that the item pick-up range is massive in comparison to POE which means my character doesn't stutter step and makes a better experience picking up items/coins. I believe that increasing the item pick-up range would make picking up items in POE a better experience. It would reduce miss clicking, and spam clicking.

    Would there be an issue with increasing the pick-up range?

    Edit: Based one feedback in the comments and the number of up votes, it looks like the majority of people are for increasing the item pick-up range.

    Unpopular Opinion: So long as I don't need to buy any maps from other players I don't care if I'm running subpar map types

    Yes, some maps take longer to run than others, and have phased bosses or backtracking in them which aren't ideal. But so long as I have a consistent supply of high maps I really don't care if I'm running the occasional cells map. The variety keeps me playing much much more than the chaos per minute ratio ever could.

    Anyone hoping for an ice brand skill to be revealed? There is only 2 brand skills and they appear to have been left ever since. I feel like many archetypes are forgotten about, such as warcries, auras, brands which seem to be a one league thing and then never expanded upon.

    I made CoC Bladefall. Worldbeater, excellent build offensively, feels awesome, PoB included; almost unplayable purely because of server lag. Worried about Bladeblast integration and persistent blades.

    It's causing massive server lag, even against a single target, presumably due to the number of blades generated by Awakened Spell Cascade and casting 7.5 times per second. Even with *absolute minimum graphics settings* on a i7 6700/GTX1080 setup, it causes massive "FPS" lag: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd11z4qVCFo

    This is unfortunately how lockstep server lag manifests itself. The optimal CoC setup for this build is causing barely-playable lag. I've played the build a lot because it's fun but it certainly causes deaths often...

    Now, 3.10 brings persistent objects in the form of blades in the ground. And I am wondering if I'll be able to play this build any more.

    What's the point of a full bar in Tane's lab's device?

    In maps, a full bar drops a metamorph component (heart, lungs, etc.) In the lab, nothing seems to happen. Tane himself in the lab always has the ! above his head after I kill a metamorph (full bar or not), but when I talk to him, I get the same message every time.

    Am I missing something obvious? I know a full bar will give a slightly higher drop probability than a partial bar. Is that it?

    I finally reached level 100 for the first time ever and finished with it the 40th challenge of this league.

    I honestly didn't expect it to happen anymore.

    [Build showcase] Defence is the best Defence - face tank most hits and good clear

    This build stems from Mathil's Armagaddon Brand Beeftain as a template. Bossing damage is dealt by brand and flame surge. Map clearing is very smooth, achieved via explody chest with full phys to fire conversion, pretty standard stuff.

    The part that this build really shines are the two juicy defence layers, namely:

    1. phys damage taken converted to elemental -- 20% helmet; 15% chest; 23% watcher's eye (godly jewel would be 36%); 5% lethal pride (potential up to 20%); 10% ascendancy. That's 74% conversion all the time, with another 20% temporarily available from Taste of Hate. Basically all end game physical slams are trivial.

    2. 100% elemental ailment immunity achieved -- 25% gloves; 25% helmet; 35% boots; 15% Crystal Skin annointment. It's really nice to forget about getting shocked from awakener. For mapping I use a DPS glove.

    When all incoming damages are elemental, elemental reduction nodes from tree and skills becomes very effective. I ran a Flesh and Stone aura and low level cwdt to further mitigate the damage.

    On top of that, I have 74% block to attack and 50% block to spell with little investment (lethal pride), and HP pool of 6800. During awakener fights I just swap to a Kaom's Heart and relax with my high life of 8400. Never got one shot, can confortablly tank Awakener's maze meteror.

    POB is not acurate due to the two Thread of Hope jewels I took. I jump to Heart of Flame, Fire Walker, Rune Binder and Tireless.

    Total cost of gear is roughly 40 exa (I got really lucky with that chest, only cost me 15 exa).

    To sum it up, what I really want to show is an alternative way of enjoying today's fast paced POE. I had plenty of frustration dying when playing X million DPS characters, and now have finally found myself a cozy pocket of playstyle.

    I would like to play melee again for the upcoming league as I haven't played a melee build since Delve, where I played reave. Is there a good league starter melee build with above average clear and bossing potential?

    I do understand that the patch notes aren't out but I doubt this should have much impact on my question

    weapon effects in a different way

    Dear GGG,

    will the day come when we can apply our color effects for weapons to shields/offhands as well?

    Some skins still look a little boring. A little bit of colour would certainly fit well.
