What Happens When You Let An Algorithm Write the Delirium Patch Notes

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 01:10 PM PDT

I ran the patch notes so far for Delirium through a Markov Chain text generatorand wanted to share its results with you.

    • You will no longer be obtained in any form.
    • Improved engine multi-threading, and added support for 16 logical cores (previously 8), meaning Path of Exile!
    • Added a new debuff which reduces your action speed and causes you to lose 3% of your Passive Tree. Socketing one of our Supporters!
    • If you're very lucky, you can allocate passives.
    • The second passive on the Duelist and Templar was more like the Floating Blob of Malice.
    • Made significant improvements to a number of improvements
    • Improvements have been able to survive after losing an organ?
    • Improvements have been relocated!
    • Added 15 new Unique Items, including one designed by one of these leagues
    • Cremation's projectile impact area of effect is now offered to the Simulacrum
    • Added a line to the Simulacrum. It is in the Celestial Nebula hideout.
    • Each scarab guarantees Metamorph monsters will appear in your hideout
    • You'll also find Delirium Splinters which can be purchased from Clarissa by the duelist to appear on Body Armours
    • Wand attack projectiles are now mutually exclusive.
    • Cluster Jewels can be purchased from Nessa by the Rune Blast
    • Daresso's Spinning Blades will now use whatever special skills they had in life.
    • You are now considered to be empowered on your Atlas.
    • Each map has a base duration of 40 seconds (from 37.5 seconds)
    • Each map has a cooldown.
    • Fixed a bug which caused Blast Rain's tooltip to not talk about Zana. Rude!
    • Fixed several modifiers that were meant to collapse in Abyss areas to not...? But also they didn't. But they do now
    • Fixed a bug which caused the unique stash tab.
    • Fixed a bug where some Delve bosses did not correctly cause the client to crash.
    • Fossils can no longer craft any mods that make the game harder.
    • Fixed a bug where the Microtransaction store would not change size
    • Fixed a bug where Kirac could get stuck inside of one of our Supporters!
    • He takes 80% less damage during the arena at just the right (or wrong) time.
    • Fixed a bug that made Al-Hezmin's burrowing vipers get very confused when there was no way to get great items.
    • Fixed bugs which caused the cliffs in The Ledge to appear, as one QA member put it, "baby-smooth".
    • Note that this change means it is not online, the auto-response will now return.
    • We really hope you enjoy Path of Exile 2.

The best part of Delirium League is that we'll be too busy playing PoE inside to catch Coronavirus

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 10:12 PM PDT

CDC recommendations; Avoid large crowds and self isolate for long periods of time.
    Advice for casuals.

More CDC recommendations; Avoid touching your face.
Our hands are too busy on 12345 flasks and mousing anyway

As a flavour win, players should be rewarded with a Fog hideout decoration for completing the simulacrum

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 11:34 AM PDT

The fog just seamlessly integrates into your other cool hideouts, just as the fog seamlessly integrates into other league mechanics!

    Maybe I'm already delusional...

Crafting Simulator - As a student I created a crafting simulator for my favorite game. Unfortunatly development has stalled because I have less time now. Nevertheless i hope you still enjoy

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 10:33 AM PDT

My time as a student has ended, and my work demands more hours than my studies did. So unfortunatly i can't dedicate as many hours as i would like to finish this project. However i think it's in a state that some of you will still enjoy playing around with it. So here goes nothing.

If there is some interrest in the project i will probably pick up development again, but if not it was just something fun to do.

In its current state it doesnt have a domain name, so that explains the weird URL.

    Hope you enjoy :)

"Speed aware animations" are all this game needs to be perfect for me.

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 08:29 AM PDT

With work on PoE2 going on in the background, I'd love to take a moment to bring up a pet peeve that has held me from fully enjoying the PoE power fantasy almost since the beta days.

PoE is a game of insane scaling, and speed (movement, casting, attacking) is no exception. Unfortunately, the animations aren't really designed to match the speed at which your character acts.

This is unrelated to animation quality, and I worry that even though the PoE2 animations we've seen are great, they may do nothing to solve this problem unless they tackle it directly. Think of the witch spell cast animation for example. There is nothing wrong with it, but all the weight and power behind the motion becomes ridiculous when you repeat it several times a second.

I would love animations in PoE to have multiple tiers based on attack/cast/move speed, so they roughly correspond to the speed at which you're performing them (e.g. a very fast cast becoming a flick of the wrist, or high move speed resulting in a leaner, more agile walk cycle).

Some time ago I brought up that I would spend untold amonts of premium currency in animation MTXs, to replace my walk cycle with floating, my spellcasting animation with staff casting, etc. This is more of a pipe dream, but I hope the devs consider it as part of the PoE2 graphical overhaul.

Here's hoping animations become not only better, but also more varied by the end of the year!

With league release soon, what are some of your favorite resources for important info or little-known tips?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 09:58 AM PDT

As I'm currently entertaining the idea of running SSFHC whereas I normally run trade SC, I've been looking at some of the bookmarks and resources I rely on normally in a different light now. I'm curious what are some of the ones you folks use as well?

Some example of ones I keep bookmarked are:

This helpful fellow posts a SSF guide each league, and I look forward to any updates he may have for 3.10

    https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/8y8fxv/little_guide_about_how_to_farm_temple_mostly_for/

    http://balormage.com/masters/alva/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/fcujku/ssf_influenced_item_base_cheatsheet/

http://poedb.tw/us/mod.php (This seems generic and obvious but I do see many posts here and comments in game about what mods can spawn in what circumstances).

https://www.poelab.com/ (obviously. But still, it wasn't until last league that I realized it had cheat-sheets for other league mechanics as well - like Betrayal)

The wiki, also obvious. But more specifically basic crafting recipes for league starters, and also divination card locations for specific drops you might be interested in, like this wand for the new wand updates.

Over the years I've had various info-graphics saved, but they've progressively become outdated like this one. It's no longer relevant for betrayal, but decently useful for fossils and incursions.

    There's also this for essences.

If you've got some great tips of your own, or saved resources, feel free to share and I'll happily add them to this list.

The Keystone build. Can you get them all using less talents?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 07:18 AM PDT

As we approach patch notes and the YouTube "league starter" videos, please FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.....

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 06:26 PM PDT

When many of you create videos about new league starters, please put more emphasis on the early endgame gearing choices rather than talking immediately about how to scale it to a A8 killer.....

For those of us trying to figure out builds and such there is a huge gap between league start and end game boss killer that many of these videos do not address.

maybe spend some time talking about the things your league stater build would look for when reaching maps.... some of the strats you might use to gear in the early end game, and what to save vs what to sell (assuming trade league)

This would help out people more than you know.
