Cluster jewels are an amazing mechanic and should be brought core

    Posted: 05 Apr 2020 08:05 AM PDT

I think cluster jewels are an absolutely genius game mechanic that should be brought core BUT not tied to delirium. Let me start off by giving in that I am a fairly new player and the most I ever crafted before this league was maybe some super cheap fossil crafting.

For starters cluster jewels make you think about your tree ALOT more, suddenly you dont just copy a tree you actually have choices to make and there are tons of options for every budget, I love that you can craft these things. I also love how they represent so much of what poe is in that there is constant upgrades, and a pretty big search to truly find the best setup with the most efficient point usage.

I absolutely love how you can craft cluster jewels because they got me to explore other forms of crafting, I know pretty much all they are is alt regal spamming but it showed me the price difference between crafting my own and buying one already crafted. This is huge for me because I am someone who usually just buys all there gear. Cluster jewel got me to start thinking about crafting my own gear and holy shit it gave me such a better appreciation for this game because I was proud of the gear I was crafting and using or selling. It showed me how fun the rng of rolling good mods together really is.

So please, keep cluster jewels in the game because they have vastly improved how I (and I bet other players) look at the game but seperate them from delirium, part of what helps them be awesome is having the bases so cheap, 5-10c max for a good point base is really good for opening up this amazing mechanic to all players.

I've played Bladestorm all league, min-maxed a character with a ~200 ex investment. I just switched to cyclone and the difference is crazy.

    Posted: 05 Apr 2020 02:28 AM PDT

I was the #1 bladestorm gladiator in DPS on poe.ninja (currently still showing bladestorm), only surpassed by two squishy berserker characters. I definitely like bladestorm, it's fun to play with the blood and sand mechanic in more depth, and it definitely felt satisfying to play for clearing and bossing. I didn't want to play cyclone, because I'd played a cast on crit character with cyclone last league.

However, as a last adjustment before I start pumping currency into a new character, I wanted to try out Cyclone, because some guy in global said "If you're playing bladestorm, might as well play cyclone". Well, after trying it, (buying new boots and using 7 orbs of regret and recoloring my chest, nothing else) I don't think I can go back to bladestorm. Not only does cyclone feel much safer and clear faster, it clearly does TONS more damage. I feel like bladestorm, and probably most other melee skills need a massive damage boost to reach cyclone in terms of usability. Not saying cyclone needs a nerf, as it's nicely balanced with other main skills at this point, but instead give other melee skills something in return for having to stand still while attacking. Nature's patience is a good start, but it feels undertuned as it has a big negative effect, and you need to remain stationary for a long time for the positive effect to kick in.

Anyway, that was my little melee rant, nothing that hasn't been said before, but I was still surprised at how glaringly better cyclone is in pretty much all aspects.

Edit: another thought that just came up: I think the BiS position of the Lion's Roar flask also contributes to this problem. When you don't do insane damage with your melee skill, you have to awkwardly chase enemies because of your knockback. With Cyclone, it's super easy to just go after enemies, with Bladestorm for example you often push bosses out of your bloodstorms.

Another edit because people seem to think I'm calling Cyclone overpowered: I'm saying other melee skills need help to be able to rival cyclone, not the other way around. As I said Cyclone is in a good place compared to other main skills, but any other melee skills are in Cyclone's shadow.

I don't care about balancing or content GGG, I want to play the game with reasonable FPS and with sound on...

I have a nice rig and this is the worst game performance wise. Did every guide/step or advice that someone could find on the internet to make it playable.

Content is nice but the game just can't work like this...

What's your "slept on" unique that you're surprised more people aren't using?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2020 07:54 AM PDT

I've been using the Voidwalker boots on my CA trickster since I could first equip them and found them really hard to give up. Getting a free 5 pierces means I can save 4+ passives on my tree and get more damage/survivability from clusters this league, and the free phasing and extra 20% chance to avoid projectiles is just icing on the cake for a trickster build.

What are some other cool items you guys are using that don't get talked about much? It doesn't have to be a unique; it could be an interesting influence mod or something. I just thought it'd be fun to see what people are using besides the same few items you see in every build guide.
