Int Stacking Wander Archetype: Guide, FAQ and Budget concerns.

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 09:06 PM PDT

Hello everyone, this is Trivial Matters :)

So lately int-stack wander has been getting some attention and i have seen a few streams and video guides mentioning it.

    Guide itself:

If you haven't checked forums i have a very detailed guide on the build here which became quite popular lately due to its in-depth 'craft your own gear section' :D

Also lots of footage here if u want to see it in action.

I won't copy paste everything again. My concern is from snapshot videos and build PoB's posted around, people are getting misinformed about stuff and found same questions appearing on my thread and twitch over and over again in the last few days.

So decided to make a FAQ section for the build mechanics, entry costs, expectations and stuff. I will try to keep this updated with your questions, so feel free to ask them here.

These are not limited to my build but applies to all int stack wanders no matter the ascendancy etc.

    What is the main idea:

Main idea is getting the mod 'attacks this weapon adds 1-6 lightning dmg per 10 intelligence' mod on your wand and play an ES based toon. Intelligence also gives 'increased %1 energy shield per 5 intelligence'. This lets you scale both offence and defense via a single stat, creating a build that can scale immensely into endgame. (more on this on the second part)

    What is the right approach:

First is this is a SUFFIX heavy build. You will want resists, int, your missing str/dex, attack speed, accuracy, crit. chance/multi and %stat rolls all of which share the same slots.

Also its not 'highest int wins'. You want to scale stuff to a decent point first, then break the limits by buffing them again with intelligence without hitting diminishing returns.

Can i just use less good items in each slot to budget it:

Int-stacking feeds on gear, so does Energy Shield. While it is technically possible to budget it via above method, it will lose its meaning under a gear level.

This is an endgame build. Compared to an average build, it works in reverse order.

Your common build starts with a bit on investment to get excellent returns at the start. In return it also hits 'diminishing returns' soon where upgrades become more expensive and returns are smaller. (If u asked yourself something like 'shall i buy that 30ex glove/ring etc for 2% more dmg difference', that's exactly it.)

Int stack Wander does the opposite, we spend a hefty amount of exalts to get a very good 'build base' going, which gives you a passable build but nothing fancy. Then every upgrade you do, even the smallest ones gives you a huge increase in power cuz you dont hit diminishing return (at least not until u hit god-mode) .

On the guide, I said 40ex is where this build starts to shine, and its slowly rising as the league dies. Mind that i assume u are willing to craft your own gear and spend time waiting for good deals when saying this. if you just try to go to poe.trade and buy everything in 10 mins it will be much much higher.

Doesn't not having block, dodge etc makes it less tanky ? Layered Defenses are king ?

There is a very good reason why layered defenses are considered the 'way to go': most builds cannot stack one type of defense without hitting diminishing returns, so they move on to a secondary one to avoid this. Unfortunately this created a misconception like 'more layers = most tankiness'.

In simplistic terms: max block/sblock is 75% dmg reduction, with glancing blows its 37.5% dmg reduction. You get some on block recovery, but u also have less leech cap and more susceptible to one shots etc.

For a build that can have up to 20K ES without compromising from damage, skipping commonly used defensive method can be okay :)

If u are still unconvinced, i did 11 * t16 full delirious maps live on twitch along with 11 simulacrums over two days. Solo and no HH either. All deathless if u dont count the game crashing in a full delirious and logging with 10% less xp. I doubt most builds that are deemed 'tanky' can pull that off.

Recording a few runs and putting a shiny video on somewhere is one thing, this is quite 'unedited' and 'repetitive'

(if u wish to check how it looks check here and here)

So its only about 'what you gain', its also about 'what are you sacrificing to get it'

I saw this pob/guide/video in x/y/z and looks like it is better/faster/stronger:

I am not saying what i come up with is perfect and i am also updating it as time goes on with new ideas from discussions with other ppl.

But mind that a single video or pob link is not an efficient way of judging a build, especially one that is quite heavy on theory-crafting.

All stuff i wrote about, i tried to do extensive search (I have around 9 different PoB setups with block integration too :) since delirium league and included most of the info about crafting, selections etc.

Feel free to change it to your liking, but do not blame me if it doesn't work as expected :D

What if i make big mistakes while crafting etc:

I keep a discord server for my builds, which kinda became a 'wander hub' lately. Feel free to drop in with any of your questions and suggestions. Even if i am not avail at that moment some other fellow wander will gladly lend u a hand :) https://discord.gg/UB5mucm

8M DPS Hollow Palm Ice Crash Raider lvl 95 and looking for any improvements I can make.

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 01:19 AM PDT

As the title says, currently blowing away every enemy I see but I'm trying to bring this character into Ludicrous Mode with over 10M DPS if I can. Currently dealing 8M with flasks active, fortify and frenzy charges and looking for any additional ways to damage. I'm welcome to any changes but I'm also aware my gem setup in my helmet isn't ideal- I want a 4-red socket Fractal Thoughts but I don't have one yet so I'm settling for second best ATM (Frostbite instead of Vaal Ancestral Protector).

    https://pastebin.com/abhNFn3p

POB really seems to hate my character so you'll have to go into the tree and click on all of the cluster nodes except one small Elemental Damage node to get my full tree.

Late Endgame Improvements for ZombieMancer to Run Fractured Maps

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 10:52 PM PDT

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/5smVFmhk

Looking for suggestions on where I can go with my build from here, whether it be item, skill gem, or passive tree changes. I've included my Animated Guardian item loadout in the PoB build as well. My goal is to comfortably run fractured maps (5x delirium orb, beyond, monolith, breach, etc.). I haven't tried yet as I only learned about them today and am working towards making a base map. EHP with everything up is 6764hp/5612es, 76/75/75/40% for resistances (see below about chaos res), and estimated 45% phys damage reduction.

Build is pretty much entirely based off this youtube video: https://youtu.be/6T1ndsDe2KM. My 4 spectres are x2 Carnage Chieftans, x1 Host Chieftan, x1 Merveil's Retainer. Here are some things I know can be changed to improve and am currently working towards:

    • Level up for another passive point to allocate Bloodless
    • Kingmaker on Animated Guardian
    • Awakened Multistrike on Raise Zombie 6-link
    • Fire res to Chaos res on one of the rings (Just realized I'm over by a lot and endurance charges will cover the 5% that I'll be under the cap)
    • Headhunter probably? Only sitting at about 10.5 ex currently though, and it would drop me under 1500 str if I did (losing one of my zombies)
    • A %attribute and %str double influenced amulet, though I'm not even sure this would be that much of an improvement over the Astramentis.
    • Also, I realized I messed up one of my rings by synthesizing it. I didn't know synthing it gets rid of the res from the two-stone ring implicit until it was too late.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

EDIT: Lethal Pride is currently giving me +40 str and +4% maximum life. Got tired of divining it to fish for better. Might go back and try again at some point.

What's best to get right now

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 02:17 AM PDT

Hi, this is my build: https://pastebin.com/TRSJxqwg.

I know I'm asking a lot of people, but this is my first ever build and I'm kinda stuck. I got PoB and I'm starting to experiment with it a bit, so that will definitely help.

Even so, can anyone tell me where should I put my money next, in order to get the most of it?

Either what item/jewel should I replace first and to what, or maybe what stat needs to be higher?

Or should I just admit to this build's limitations and start a new one?

    Thanks !

Unsure of a few things with my spectral throw build

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 09:28 PM PDT

    Making a raider, lightning, ST

Am I correct in thinking steel spirit doesn't seem to be worth using?

Also unsure about optimal flasks. Using Quicksilver, Jade, Diamond, divine and wise oak at the moment but I have a lot of lightning pen already so idk if wise oak is needed.. is there an effective cap?

Using raider ascendancy and aside from frenzy charge nodes, onslaught nodes seem to give me significantly more damage but elemental ailment immunity and permanent phasing seems hard to pass on?

For auras I'm using wrath, herald of thunder and precision and I'm not sure what curse or curses I should be running

    Add-ons???

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 06:34 PM PDT

Are there add-ons for Poe? In wow the first thing I always did was install weakauras and import my cursor arua, it would put a big ass circle around my cursor so I could never lose it in particle spam. I've been having trouble with this in Poe first league here and I tried it a VD SPELL slinger and it doesn't take much for my cursor to go MIA. If there are add-ons please link if not anyone have a solution other then refilling, or turning my graphics down. Just built a real big boy rig so I would die a little inside if I had to turn anything down.

    Fun Builds to try!!!

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 12:27 AM PDT

I have completed my goal this league(Deathless A8 Sirus) with my Max block CI COC IceNova(Credits to Kamikaze).
So I'm there at a point of the league where i have little currency left(around 20ex) and in search of fun builds to play. So please suggest me builds which are fun to play and kinda good at mapping.

PS: I have already played Toxic Rain Trickster, Volatile Dead

What are the atlas strategies pros use to get to A8 asap?

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 12:13 PM PDT

I don't even mean pros, I just mean people who get to A8 a few days after league start. Do they use the leap frog method? Another method?

I've been on SSF for the past couple weeks. Beat A0 sirus and got A5 or 6...and just read about the leap frog method. Seems like you need to start it from the beginning with a clean atlas to work. I wonder if there is an atlas guide that's like a rubiks cube solver... Any position you are inq, you do some certain steps and you get A8 :)

    Which build with HH

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 06:20 PM PDT

Hello everyone I will get my hands on an Headhunter for the first time ever and I want to abuse it ! I'm struggling between 2 builds right now : FireBV or HoT Autobomber. I don't really care of how much the build cost. I want to enjoy the "Ultra mega wtf end game" like 100% delirious or 5way legion

I do own a spectre who can do every bosses (If I can do them as one of the two build it's better so I can sell spectre's stuff)

    Your advice ?

4400 HP tank build not quite as tanky as I had hoped

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 02:01 PM PDT

Before everyone laughs at the HP, please note the defensive mechanics (not all of which are accurately shown in PoB).

Don't get me wrong, it's tanky. I occasionally die to some very rippy map mods and being dumb, but other than that it's been fun. It's not very fast, which makes Blight and Legion encounters tough, but the clear is satisfying in its own way. However, when I was doing T14 Elder Guardians I realized things weren't going as I had hoped. Like, I have Divine Flesh with 77 lightning res and 90 chaos res. Why am I taking 4 deaths to The Eradicator?

The general philosophy of the build is to stack physical damage taken as elements (30% lightning, 20% cold, 10% fire, 10% chaos). Not only is it easier to mitigate elemental damage with capped resistances, but the reduced physical damage makes armor much more effective at mitigating the 30% that didn't get converted.

Divine Flesh /w 90% chaos res helps mitigate elemental damage as well.

Lots of straight mitigation from 7 endurance charges /w Jugg ascendancy & pantheon, basalt flask, and fortify. 60k armor with VMS, (50k with CWDT regular MS).

PoB shows negative health regen due to 2x Nebuloch, but it doesn't take into account half of the degen is taken as chaos, which I have 90% resistance to with 3 or more endurance charges (always), so I have pretty good natural regen.

Combat Control is conquered to Cult of Lightning, +1% max lightning resistance, all other nodes sadly pretty useless.

Damage is mostly from cluster jewels, Malachai's Artifice + lightning golem, flammability ring, and CWDT Wave of Conviction absolutely SHREDDING enemy fire resistance lol. Swapping Fire Pen into the 6L would actually be a bigger DPS loss than something that would do 0 damage like Spell Echo. I do around 500k Shaper/Sirus DPS, which is slow, but I knew that going in. I've downed them before with builds that did about that amount of damage.

There might be ways for me to get more HP, but at what cost? My damage is already pretty much as low as I can reasonably expect to be viable.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Jumping back in, looking for build help

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 01:20 PM PDT

I've been away from this game for a long time and am looking to get back into it with friends. I was following a 2016 flameblast totem noob guide and put the game down at level 60 or 70 when I got stuck on Kitava.

Reworking everything has always been the biggest barrier to entry for me and I'm hoping I can find some useful advice on how to salvage this build. Link below. I got most of the flameblast and aura gems mentioned. Any help is appreciated.

    Cheap Cospri CoC?

    So I've found this item:

    drop from cortex

and I immediately though of making some sort of CoC corpri assasin since i love that kind of playstyle and have gathered some currency but im not sure if what i curently have should be enough to gear me up for t16s. Another thing i had really big problem while playing this build previously was low boss dmg but now that i have more currency than ever(I know its not much, but im pretty casual) i wanted to try make this work. Or should i just sell it and think about something cheaper?

Help needed with frostblades build, only 80k shaper dps

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 05:46 AM PDT

Hi all thanks in advance for helping me. I am currently attempting a frostblades berserker build and decided to import my build into POB to see what optimizations I can improve. To my shock, it is only doing around 80k shaper dps (100k if you count in frostbomb). This pales in comparison with the guide I was following (347k shaper dps), even after i removed his endgame jewels, links and other usually inflated configs.

    Progress:

Currently I am doing t14-15 fine, with 17 watchstones collected so far, killing mobs easily while bosses I can face tank with berserk active. I am worried that if I advance I might hit a brick wall in terms of dps on shapers and other end game bosses. My other problem is that my build is also lacking in terms of survivability, having only the 0.4% leech as life node on the skill tree.

    POB (mine): https://pastebin.com/14jgLmSw

    POB (guide): https://pastebin.com/iC1pd6EP

    Potential improvements to make:

    • Watcher eye jewel: Hatred - added flat cold damage
    • Better Gale Barb Sword (not sure about this..)
    • Switch Kaom's roots to a boots with +70
    • Armor with + crit chance %

Could you guide me on how to reach higher dps numbers, thanks a bunch.

    VD/DD Spellslinger DPS in PoB

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 10:50 AM PDT

I've got my VD/DD Spellslinger character all setup in PoB, but I can't seem to find a way to get the effective DPS calculated. Is PoB not able to add everything together, taking into account the number of VD's I can have at the same time, as well as my attack speed, with Spellslinger? Or am I just missing something
