[3.10] Warcry One With Nothing 79/79 Block Glad - 30M cyclone dps - looking for build feedback

    Posted: 15 May 2020 11:07 AM PDT

    POB: https://pastebin.com/YZxHLSW0

TLDR: use rigwald and warcry cluster jewels instead of astramentis

    Gear: https://imgur.com/a/t4zzvOj

    Hi everyone,

This is my first experience with POE after a friend of mine roped me into trying this league. We had played some D3 together and so attempting to dive in to the madness of PoE was very intense. It's been like drinking from a firehose for the last 2 months.

Not knowing what else to do, I league started with an impale cyclone swords champion because it looked like whirlwind barbarian from D3. Had to be good, right? But I was pretty underwhelmed with the damage and survivability tradeoffs for endgame. Not to mention it's kind of a rotten league starter - definitely should have used facebreaker!

After discovering the one with nothing jewel, I thought it would be pretty cool to make a build with it. The smart thing to do would have been to level a marauder because berserker seems just ridiculous. But I had no desire to relevel another melee build and wanted to see what I could do with my duelist.

    I would welcome any feedback!

    How this build works:

This is a one with nothing build that stacks Dex for flat phys using the split personality jewel, and uses cyclone to deal damage with all the usual supports, similar to many other OWN builds. The difference is that we use Rigwalds for base crit chance to unarmed attacks, scaled by the warcry cluster jewels with the warning call notable. We use max block/spell block with enduring cry regen for survivability. We can use the dex/life split personality jewel instead of the dex/str because our damage is independent of strength. Mana regen is handled by rallying cry, so you only need one -3 mana craft to ring for comfortable cyclone sustain.

The existing OWN builds that I have seen use astramentis, which have the following sources of damage which multiply each other: - added phys (from dex), - increased damage % from strength, - attack speed, and - impale.

These builds generally do not have any crit because unarmed attacks have zero crit chance by themselves. However, with Rigwalds and warcries, you additionally get: - added phys (from dex), - increased damage % from rallying cry, scaled by the cry wolf node, - crit chance and multiplier, scaled by the warning call node, - attack speed, and - impale.

    Specs:

    • 30M shaper dps without Berserk (with luxury items)
    • 5.2k life
    • 1.8k hp/sec life regen, 1.0k leech
    • 79/79 block chance
    • immune to curse/freeze/shock
    • Handles wave 20 simulacrum with ease

    Pros:

    • It's not a herald build, so gear is not too expensive, outside of optional luxury items.
    • Good clear speed and single target damage
    • Simple to play
    • Better survivability thanks to warcry regen
    • Party friendly - most builds get some benefit from 400+% increased damage and free endurance charges

    Cons:

    • It's not a herald build
    • You need to use numlock, or another method to automate enduring cry
    • Starved for sockets. Passive tree is tight.
    • You will take big hits occasionally on very high-end content such as T17+ or 100% delirious T14+ maps with beyond.
    • Can't do physical reflect. No regen requires flask switches and isn't viable on very high-end content. Block chance reduction can be dangerous as well.

    Gear

Helmet: rare with pride mana reservation or cyclone attack speed enchant, Dex, resists, life

+1 socketed aoe gems craft helps with enduring cry regen. The 15% pride mana reservation reduction enchant allows us to run all the auras we want (pride, dread banner, maim/flesh and stone, blood and sand). It seems relatively inexpensive. Without it you will have to drop blood and sand.

    Amulet: Rigwald's

Chest: 6L Astral plate with life, resists

I went with a multimod setup because block chance and increased attributes are both good crafts. Recommend against wildwrap here as I think you need the block chance craft. You don't need -15 mana here as rallying cry handles the mana regen. Luxury: - Enemies explode - obviously really nice to have - %increased dex - Flat crit to attacks

    Belt: Cyclopean coil

Luxury: with good corrupt (pride and dex/str are reasonable options). Alternatively, some kind of uber influenced leather belt or stygian vise+jewel combo.

Rings: Rare unset or resist rings with dex, Life, Resist rolls

    • You will need one -3 mana to channeled skills craft on a ring to sustain cyclone.
    • Luxury: Assassin's mark on hit

Without one unset ring you have to drop an aura or have no room for movement skill.

Boots: Rare with dex, life, resists

    • Luxury: tailwind
    • Craft: cannot be chilled, or onslaught (if using bottled faith)

An alternative is Garukhan's, but we don't get that all that much from it vs a well-rolled rare

    Cluster Jewels:

    • 3 large clusters with Deep Cuts / Martial Prowess or Fuel the Fight / 2 jewel sockets
    • 5 medium clusters with warning call/cry wolf/jewel socket
    • 1 medium cluster with cry wolf/mob mentality/jewel socket
    • 4 dex/life split personality
    • 1 one with nothing

It's a good idea to have the immune to corrupted blood corrupt on one of these jewels, especially if you are going without a life flask!

Base jewels: 3-4x 1% chance to block attacks, %life, resists

    Luxury:

    • with melee crit multi
    • Pride watcher's eye with extra impale mod

    Skill links:

    • Cyclone/Impale/Brutality/Melee Physical Damage/Fortify/Pulverise. We are too dumb to use infused channeling sadly.
    • Flesh and Stone/Maim
    • Pride
    • Dread Banner
    • Blood and Sand
    • Dash
    • Enduring Cry
    • Rallying Cry
    • Optional: awakened brutality and awakened melee physical damage. Berserk if you have room.

    Flasks:

    • 20% Rumi's
    • Lion's Roar
    • Diamond
    • Silver (Optional: Bottled Faith instead)
    • Quicksilver or Basalt
    • Desired suffixes: warding, grounding, adrenaline. Freeze immunity handled by cyclopean coil.

Chieftain: Chain fireball (build help request)

    Posted: 16 May 2020 03:13 AM PDT

Hi i am trying to make a chain fireball Chieftain i have been working in path of building i want to make it HC viable and able to get in to higher tier maps than my cyclone Duelist from last league (i only got to T5 first time mapping) . i decided on Chieftain so i can tank with armour/life/leach

    PoB pastebin :https://pastebin.com/7ceX28Fu

i have a few issues though

    1. how to get more damage ( ive got 74kdps with 20k ignite) but people do millions i know thats with better gear (i have just been slapping the base gear in)

2.Any good ways to sustain mana without going blood magic so i can use more auras rather than a buffed herald of ash.

    any help would be appreciated.

Ps. Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this kinda thing. also i dont have much currency to fund this my highest char is in act 5 (duelist double striker clear is horrible so i want to try somthing ranged)

Are 98% of EK Herald stackers wrong??

    Posted: 15 May 2020 08:56 PM PDT

    Heya,

I'm trying to figure out if 98% of EK herald stackers are incorrectly following builds incorrectly or the more likely scenario I am just wrong.

As every is aware, the build heavily utilises the Call of the Brotherhood rings which at face level would make sense to convert, etc.

However, I'm finding that 98% of them have chosen to support EK with the 'Physical to Lightning' support (https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds?item=Ring-of-Blades,Voices,Watchers-Eye,Nebulis,Conquerors-Efficiency,Maligaros-Virtuosity,Call-of-the-Brotherhood,Cinderswallow-Urn&skill=Ethereal-Knives).

When I'm running the numbers in POB it's coming out as the 4th best support (with either Arcane Surge or Hypothermia beating it out by 15-18%).

From what I can understand, the best 6th gems (excluding Ele focus) are EK > Awakened Spell Echo > Awakened Controlled Destruction > > Awakened Chain/Cold Pen(clear vs ST) > Inspiration > Arcane Surge.

My main question around the above is whether I'm obviously right or wrong and/or if POB just doesn't calculate conversion correctly and therefore not showing correct numbers?

Note: Whilst Phys to Lightning does show a higher tooltip in-game it doesn't represent this in POB with arcane surge giving higher casts per second.

why is freezingpulse the most chosen skill with selfcurse totem atziri reflect

    Posted: 16 May 2020 01:46 AM PDT

i can only think of freezing pulse being a projectile and having cold damage so if a monster is cursed with ele weak, frostbite, and projectile weak

it will hit x3 but why dont people use spark? its also a elemental projectile

Building a Necromancer - need some tips

    Posted: 15 May 2020 08:57 PM PDT

I'm building a Zombie/Skeleton/Golem necromancer and have done pretty well up to level 73. I'm still clearing (act 10) but feel like it's going to start slowing down (and I'm about to hit the 10% death penalty). I've been fortunate to have a Tabula, so my 6link is strong. I'm pretty sure that when I get to maps I'm going to need a real chest piece. I have about 18 chaos, so I should be able to buy something to start shooting for that 5 or 6 link. But, what do I buy? What suffix and prefix do I look for besides "minion" attributes? Understanding what to look for and build around will be helpful as I move through maps, I can't rely on these uniques forever. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Need help with Hollow Palm Berserker

    Posted: 15 May 2020 10:10 PM PDT

Hi, I've been playing Hollow Palm build in the league. While it is pretty cool, I'm not sure I can do end game with it right now, because I have 4k life. I just started yellow maps, but I'm actually breezing through them. I have ~6ex to upgrade my build. What would be your suggestions?

3.10 Ice Spear Crit thing? Srry it's my first build.

    Posted: 15 May 2020 12:22 PM PDT

Hello everyone, this is my first PoE build, and wanted some feedback on it. It's not that great, as Ice Spear isn't really the best clear, and I basically picked it as a joke, but I got it to do a decent amount of damage.

    https://pastebin.com/8YHiau8L - Pastebin Link

I would like some feedback on the build, and really if it's actually viable. I could probably make it a lot more tankier or have much higher damage, with some more logical tree nodes and cluster jewels. The build kinda speaks for itself. You buff up with Hatred and HoI, and you click the right mouse button to deal damage with Ice Spear. I run a cluster jewel with Aerodynamics in order to get some pierce for the first phase of the Ice Spear. Most of the items are just base items from PoB, so they haven't been changed that much. I haven't actually tested it out fully, but I wanted to know whether I should soak some time into it.

Oh yeah. I only have like one character with a full build. Like I was bored and wanted to have an off-meta build, so I choose Ice Spear.

    Thank you

(Theorycraft) Storm Burst Divine Flesh Occultist

    Posted: 15 May 2020 11:11 AM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/gCxFngej

This is a Storm Burst Occultist scaling extra chaos and using Divine Flesh together with Incandescent Heart To get 75% of ele damage taken as Chaos and 90% chaos resistance.

For scaling damage it uses 2 Shade of Solaris, 169% increased skill effect duration to get Storm Burst to 3.23 duration and converting as much as possible through 2 Call of the Brotherhood + Cold to Fire support.

Since It's an Occultist it uses Hands of the High Templar with 3 curse implicits (Enfeeble, Temporal Chains and Despair) which gives it 24% of non chaos as extra chaos when killing an enemy through Malediction

The passive skill tree is pretty generic, mostly just getting the life nodes, skill effect duration nodes and some cluster jewel shenanigans for some extra skill effect duration and to get max chaos resists to 90%.

    skill gems:

6-link: Storm Burst, Controlled Destruction, Elemental Focus, Physical To Lightning, Infused Channeling and Cold To Fire.

4-link: Wither, Spell Totem, Multiple Totems and Faster Casting.

4-link: Orb Of Storms, Increased Critical Strikes, Onslaught, Culling Strike.

4-link: Summon Chaos Golem(lvl17), Cast When Damage Taken(lvl17), Steelskin(lvl19) and Increased Duration.

3-link: Flame Dash, Arcane Surge and Enhance.

    3-link: Wrath, Hatred and Enlighten.

All Items have been taken from trade site.

I don't plan on actually making this character this league, but I like theorycrafting and I like this idea so I thought I would share it.

Chaos DOT now builds and their pros and cons

    Posted: 15 May 2020 08:37 AM PDT

I have played at least one or two of just about every non-meme archetype in this game, but I've never played any of the chaos DOT bow skills. Pending patch notes and league type, I plan to start with one of these in 3.11 (mostly out of love of DOT skills and boredom with the tried and true vortex, ED, Bane, etc).

My question is concerning the differences between scourge arrow (scaling poison with proliferation cluster jewels), toxic rain, and caustic arrow (both scaling the dot).

How bad does SA feel without the helmet enchant? I know the extra pod is very valuable but as a starter I won't have it for a while. Even though it is routinely one of the cheaper actually usable helmet enchants, it would realistically be several days before I could get the enchant. I'm not worried about the single target too much because I'm going to be levelling with a miner who will take pyroclast or BL.

I honestly would prefer NOT to play a trickster, so in leaning away from the other two. I know that trickster just does both better, but I've never played a Pathfinder and I've played 20-30 tricksters including two in this league (storm brand and ED was my starter). But I also will be in a position to REALLY get after it the first week. Normally I play a lot the first weekend, but not really hard core but the probable June timing of this league start lines up very nicely for me and my leveling partner and we plan to no-life it at least the first four days or so. I don't want to have this ruined by a skill that just doesn't feel good until I have the enchant.

I know I could go toxic rain pathfinder as well, but it seems to be significantly less effective than the trickster version based on number of people playing it.

    Thoughts?

Lone Messenger HoAg PF - Scourge Arrow or Toxic Rain?

    Posted: 15 May 2020 04:28 PM PDT

-Need to use a unique cluster jewel, don't want to try Voices, Lone Messenger seems cool
-Playing self-ignite Chieftain right now, so not looking for HoAsh
-League started with HoPurity Champion, burned out on melee
-Dropped Awakened Deadly Ailments, would like to work it in
    -Never played a PF before
-No desire to play a Shadow, having run/mained one in every league since Synthesis.

So... poison, 6L Herald of Agony, Pathfinder, got it got it. It seems like I'll be able to maintain Virulence better with TR, but I keep hearing SA is better for Pathfinders, and I've found guides for both. So... can I get some opinions about which is better?

Note: I have a 6L Carcass Jack, a 6L Lioneye's Glare, one Anguish with buff effect/reduced reservation and one with buff effect/chaos damage while affected, and ~6ex.

    Posted: 15 May 2020 02:16 PM PDT

    Pastebin: https://pastebin.com/2cU5xRSw

I wonder if I should have ignored dual-wield and gone straight for magma ball / fire damage / other nodes. Am I close to something viable? Currently handling tier 7-9 maps fine enough.

I know there are small improvements on the cluster end, but when PoB says I'm doing a couple hundred K dps and there are other builds that are 1 million+ with the same life/armor, I get really discouraged.

Any generic advice would be huge.

LF Tanky and fast Duelist build

    Posted: 15 May 2020 05:44 AM PDT

First of all, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask for build suggestions.

My main goal is to push level 100 (95 currently) Budget is around 200 ex.

The main focus would be mapping, for conquerors and strong bosses i have a second char. Therefore i want to use headhunter and a build that utilizes it well.

Things i have tried so far would be a crit impale cyclone char, but it was too squishy even though it had 6.5k life. Also it doesnt really synergize well with headhunter.

My current build is a cold static strike gladiator build which blasts through maps, but the single target is so crappy and it is so squishy, that i sometimes get stuck on map bosses and die there.

A self curse temp chains build would also work for me.

Does any of you have an idea for a strong build that would match this description?

    Thanks alot in advance already
