    I just ran every T1-2 map 30 times. Here's my analysis.

    Hello everybody, and welcome to a project of mine that I can only describe as utterly unnecessary and ridiculous. I'm planning to make a full analysis of every single map in Path of Exile to see which one is the best one to run.

    To achieve this goal, I am running each map 10 times in 3 different ways. The first one will be a 'major clear', where I try to kill as many mobs as possible while under the effects of Delirium. The second one will be a 'mirror rush', where I'll try to kill the map boss under the effect of Delirium as fast as possible. In the final one, the goal is just to kill the map boss as fast as possible.

    Using a program called Exile Diary, I can see my time and monsters killed per map. Of course, this doesn't provide any information regarding the time spent in the hideout. According to Mapwatch, I spend between 7 and 10 seconds in the hideout, which I'll add to the total time per map.

    As a quick disclaimer, I am running all these maps as 'dry' as possible. I am not adding any packsize at all, nor am I interacting with Abysses, Breaches, Blights and as much as I hate to say it… I had to leave Legions behind as well.

    First off, you can just say to me "Can't you just keep running the fastest map over and over? Maps like Coves, Mesa and City Square are really great." The thing to keep in mind with those maps is that while you can kill the map boss quite quickly, you are not killing that many mobs. The thing is that every mob is a potential 'loot dispenser'. So, we need a way to assign a 'score' to each map.

    The best way that I've found is to assign a score based on the expected profit per minute for each map. So, does this mean that we can just look at the current profit per map and divide by the time taken per map? Well, yes, but that wouldn't be all that statistically viable.

    What I've done was I've exported every single map that I've ever ran in the Delirium league, and I set up a linear model between the profit and the mobs killed in the map. After filtering for maps with high profit drops and maps where I had no incubators to track my kills, I was still left with 3711 maps.

    According to this formula, we only have a margin of error of 1.31% if we want to be 95% certain of this data.

    From the data, we can plot a linear model based on the profit and the mob kills. The formula for profit approximates the formula P = -0.8702+0.0145K, with a correlation of 0.377. If you want to move the y-intercept to 0, you'll have the formula P = 0.0133K with a correlation of 0.375.

    For sake of simplicity, we'll use the second formula as an estimate for chaos per mob killed.

    In the worst-case scenario, we can expect 0.00499 chaos per mob killed due to the low correlation. So, we have the part for the number of mobs killed down. Take the number of mobs killed per second per map and multiply it by 0.00499. However, we aren't done yet as we still need to take a look at the map completion bonus. For these lower tiers, I just want to focus on the master mission gains (yes, I'll include distant memories, conqueror progression and shaper/elder guardian maps as well when I get to the T14 maps). Because I have no idea how everybody here values the master missions, I'll just go off the current poeninja "A master seeks help" prices. Of course, these prices should be taken with a grain of salt, as people tend to use these missions on high-tier maps instead of white maps. Additionally, these prices are just for single prophecies instead of bulk.

    • Jun: 28.7 chaos

    • Alva: 9.2 chaos

    • Zana: 5 chaos

    • Niko: 1.7 chaos

    • Einhar: 1 chaos

    If you have 40% chance for a master mission, each map completion is essentially worth 3.65 chaos.

    So, the 'score' of each map can be expressed as S = (3.65+0.00499*K)/T

    Now, before you see this chart and start a chain of Haunted Mansions, Ashen Woods and Orchards, remember that this formula is just an approximation.

    Just for fun, I applied the "0.00499 chaos per monster kill" formula to all the maps that I've ran for this experiment. The result: It was overly generous, with an average of more 3.6 chaos per map than it predicted (or approximately 1.7 chaos per map if we ignore the lucky exalt drops)! So, by setting the formula to S = (3.65+0.009*K)/T instead, we are still 'safe' with regards to expected currency gains.

    As it turns out, Ashen Woods, Haunted Mansion and Orchard are still pretty good to run.

    So, what is my recommended strategy if you are purely planning on running T1 and T2 maps?

    The region that I would recommend running is Lex Proxima. For that region, you should set a double preference for Haunted Mansion and a single preference for Ashen Woods.

    When running those maps, you should search for the Delirium mirror and rush for the boss. If you find the boss by accident when searching for the mirror, just kill the boss and leave the map. As for Delirium rewards, I would recommend just aiming for 2 or 3 reward counters. Pushing this any higher takes too much effort for too little gain.

    As a quick reminder, these maps here are only regarding Tier 1 and Tier 2. I hope to release data regarding T3-5 maps in the next few days.

    As for a bit of discussion regarding this, I've prepared a few questions that I'm expecting to get for this post.

    "Are you going to do anything different for the next map tiers?"

    When doing these first maps, I used a Headhunter. However, I do see one big issue with that belt. It's not the fact that it makes you powerful, but rather the fact that the rares in the map have random modifiers. If you have 2 maps with the same layout, you can complete one of them much faster because you happened to have 3 rares near the entrance with 'quick' and 'allies attack and move faster'. In the future, I'll use another belt to avoid this problem.

    "I just ran 30 Haunted Mansions and I got 2 exalts already! You are amazing!" and "I just ran 300 Haunted Mansions and I got like 25 chaos and just 7 Jun missions! This strategy totally sucks!"

    Yes, Path of Exile is a game about multiple overlapping axis of randomness. Sometimes you get incredibly lucky, other times you get nothing after playing for 3 hours. I've had streaks where I had no exalts for 2 days in a row, and I've had moments where I had 5 raw exalts in an hour.

    "How did you enjoy these T1-2 maps? Are you going to be running the maps at a higher tier as well?"

    To be honest, I didn't really mind most maps. However, the maps that I absolutely dreaded running stuck out like a sore thumb. During maps like Mausoleum, Pier, Graveyard, Cursed Crypt and Laboratory I legit wondered if I should keep doing this experiment. Running them one time was bad enough but running them 30 times in a row was complete torture! As a result, I will not run those specific maps at a higher tier.

    Having said this, I am really looking forward to getting to do 30 or more Lairs, Tropical Islands, Burial Chambers, Arcades, Canyons, Toxic Sewers and Malformations.

    "Which map is the best for getting simulacrum splinters?"

    While I didn't really pay that much attention to the splinters that I got (having to keep track of every individual splinter would be a big burden), the 'splinter maps' for T1-2 that I can recommend are Ramparts, Villa, Beach, Wharf and Strand. In the future, I might have a separate column in the spreadsheet for the simulacrum splinters.

    So today i bought the fragment stash tab, and my eyes hurt because all those symbols are so tiny.

    Why can't we get rid of this useless frame (marked red) and scale all the fragments to be a little bigger?

    Or at least insert add all the league-fragments in that empty space.

    96 - T14 Burial Farm results

    TLDR - Invested 51.5 EX, finished with 64.5 ex liquid. Only 1 doctor in 96 maps.

    Another generic T14 Burials loot post.

    Screenshots before and after

    Setup:

    • Awakened 8 - no atlas manipulation for sustain
    • No Master Missions
    • All maps 20% quality, rolled to 25%+ pack size, no corruption
    • Awakened sextants, only re-rolled masters and bad mods like physical, + magic pack size.
    • Scarabs - polished divination, polished ambushed, polished breach, and polished/rusted legion (polish/rusted doesnt matter to me for legion)
    • Prophecies - plague of rats, tempests, soils
    • Zana mod - Beyond
    • Burials (T14), Shore (T15), and Tower (T16) favorited
    • Incubators were used as they were picked up.
    • Initial investment values are higher than what you would normally pay, even in bulk.

    Loot Filter:

    • Uber strict, modified to hide things I never pick up (hidden alchs/scours/fusings/timeless splinters)
    • Special icon for doctor cards

    Build:

    • Herald abuse sparker, 50% increased quantity of items found
    • CI w/ explode chest
    • Basically a broke Manni version

    Results:

    • 1 Doctor in 96 maps, very unlucky. I average 1 in 40 maps
    • 3 crashed maps, completely lost. Not bad really.
    • Breach scarabs suck, I'll never run these scarabs again. Build is meant to blast. I skipped a ton of breaches when they were in bad locations or right next to another breach. Waste of 10c per map IMO. I'll stick to elder/perandus moving forward.
    • Averaged 51 splinters per map, higher than I expected without Alva
    • Burial sustain as expected, which is 1 burial every two maps on average.
    • 64EX counted as easily sellable items. I did not count the stuff I never plan on selling (GCPs, random quantities of red maps, medium value cards, incubators, fossils, etc.) All that stuff just goes into their tabs.

    Delirium pause for league encounters seems unreliable

    Just did 2 BC back to back with multiple Legion/Breach/Blight encounters spawning in the first area, all of which are supposed to pause the delirium timer, aren't they?

    Spent a minute or so clearing the encounters, but only 20s max not participating in an encounter.

    Delirium ends as soon as I enter the middle tombs area.

    Usually I am able to fully clear BC with time to spare, seems like pause is not working in some cases.

    Edit: Pretty sure I was outrunning the fog. Have been able able to get it to happen 3 more times, backtracking and letting the fog advance solved the issue each time except once where I outran it too much (2x breach then a legion all stringed together, totally out of the fog as soon as the legion encounter entered, didn't backtrack fast enough). This usually happens near then end of the 1st area, just the 1st 2 times must have been near the end causing the fog to expire just after entering the tomb.

    AFAIK I have never experienced the bug that people are reporting (certain passage in the middle ending the fog). Not sure why but people downvoted tf out of my comments saying I didn't think it was the bug ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    porcupines are a nightmare to my build.. and all the corpse explosions were the number 2 cause of deaths behind invisible warlord banners dropping in on my head.

    My build doesn't really have the option to run an explody chest piece, or explody redeemer weapon.

    So I did some magic in my skill tree to try out a megalomaniac that i picked up some simulacrum runs ago.

    this notable is glorious. it is insane how much quicker mapping becomes when you aren't worried about stuff exploding under you. If you guys can, you should definitely try it out

    540 stacked decks gamble!

    Hi,

    Since i'm done with the league, i spent some currency by crafting jewels with alt/regalspam or gear by using fossils, at the very end I ended up with only 1 exalt left. I bought a Might of the Meek jewel and accidentally corrupted this into 'corrupted blood cannot be inflicted to you'. Alright, back at 8 exalts again.

    To literally waste currency, i bought 520 stacked decks for nearly 8ex in total, and tried my luck.

    Breakdown of noteworthy drops:

    • The Hoarder - 13c
    • Saint's Treasure - 30c
    • The Demon - 20ex
    • 4x Squandered Prosperity - 45c total
    • Alluring Bounty - 1.4ex
    • 2x Hale Heart - 28c
    • Dark Dreams - 15c
    • 2x The Eldritch Decay - 25c total
    • Azyran's Reward - 10c
    • The Sephirot - 10c
    • Etched In Blood - 25c
    • The Offering - 8c
    • 2x The Queen - 46c total

    Total: 21ex and 327c

    Without Demon: 1ex and 327c which is roughly 2.6ex. This results in a loss of ~4ex if you don't count the expensive card.

    As said, I'm pretty much done with the league (got 36 challenges), but i can try the Herald stacking build, or the other noteworthy interactions build about Decay which seems fun.

    Any ideas how to waste even more currency? Things I've thought about:

    • Last Samurai for Watcher's Eye

    Not giving away my currency just yet.

    Hi, I've made a small tool for one of my videos, to prove a point that you can pick a random skill and random ascendancy and still make it work as a build. I'm having a lot of fun playing with it and trying to solve the builds that come up.

    It would be cool to see a competition between streamers who get their builds from the roulette (give them 2 tries and ability to pick the better one to not be too harsh) and see who can kill awakener 8 on ssf with it or something along those lines

    I am having a blast playing Delirium and I hope that GGG knows how fun their league has been, with all of the added loot and cluster jewels, it has been a great way to spend time while in quarantine due to my geographic location.

    I was bored and wanted to show you all what I have been playing, this is my 7th character this HC league (all rips) .^ just wanted to humble myself and be clear.

    If people want I could go more in depth, or actually show my gear but I thought a shorter video would be better.

    How do I place a buy order or items like maps or fragments?

    MoM afk tank build (not really a showcase)

    For the past few years I've been working my afk tank build (mostly as a fun way to spend/invest currency), but I'm not sure how to improve it any further. There a few improvements I can make with the new cluster jewels (I already have a megalomaniac with surging vitality and mindfulness ready) but it wont improve the build very much.

    In its current form, the build is a scion which uses MoM with 57% mitigation (up to 58% if I divine my watcher's eye jewel) and the agnostic keystone for life regen. I'm only attack block capped with a single legacy rumi's and the gladiator node on scion, without I have 55% attack block and 35% spell block. It has 4.8k life and 11k mana with 5k mana regen (indicated on PoB). And casts spells with cast on stun thanks to a valyrium ring and agnostic (no es). And unfortunately, -60% chaos res...

    The build does fine against most pve content, except degen bosses and pvp has too much damage. I haven't done shaper or any other end-endgame bosses, only up to t16 (no guardians).

    Way to Tell Order of Passives on Cluster Jewel?

    I'm working on a build that makes use of Meglomaniac cluster jewels. The jewels have 3 passives and 99% of the time, I can only make use of one of the three.

    When the jewel is put into place, the passive that I'm interested in could be immediately to the left, to the right... or worst case, on the far side of the cluster ring. In this last case, it means that I have to waste a passive point in order to get to the one I want.

    From what I can tell, looking at the passives as they are listed on the jewel description doesn't seem to give an indication of their ultimate location that they appear in on the cluster circle.

    Is there a way to determine, before I go and buy a jewel off of POE Trade, the order the passives will be arranged?
