I have 4-5 friends that I've convinced to try the game and I want to suggest them some well written noob-friendly builds. Any good ones you know?

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:46 PM PDT

I already know about Enki's Arc witch (which I personally love btw), and I'm looking for builds that have a very similar level of detail that do a good job of introducing the game to a new player. I especially liked all the suggestions Enki gives in each act of the game, telling you what gems to get, what gear to look out for, when to do labs etc.

I don't want them to have to look at multiple guides for different aspects of the game because I feel like it will overwhelm them and put them off. Any guides that manage to introduce you to all the important things in a similar way to Enki's would be awesome. Thanks!

Tried and true league starting racing builds to get to maps

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 07:14 AM PDT

Hey, I'm looking for a build for harvest that I'll be able to zoom zoom through all 10 acts in one sitting (not counting bathroom breaks and eating) without having trouble dying to bosses, and isn't getting nerfed. Does anyone have a really fast good build that they can vouch for, and a build guide too to get to maps ASAP?

    Thanks

    Looking for starter build

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 06:54 AM PDT

I'm looking for a build that strong as a starter to push into endgame. I enjoy builds that make the screen "busy?" Some of my favorite builds being tri-herald bv with inpulsas (Herald of ash/ice explosion are amazing) iceshot with voidfletcher (Herald of ice with extra explosive projectiles) summon spectre (Lots of projectiles flying around everywhere) CoC ice nova, frost bolt (Icenova and balls) Spellslinger. (Mass spells=fun)

Some videos I've seen that look fun but don't seem to be a good starter are Mathil beeftain BV and FastAF icenova. Any recommendation for a fun/strong starter build that are similar to builds I've listed above or I might find interesting.

    Your weirdest combinations?

What was your weirdest combination ever? Any ranger based summoners, melee witches and weirdo scions can compete! Which one was your weirdest (and still viable) build ever?

    Does my build work ?

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 06:01 AM PDT

Hello this is my 4th league in POE, and I would like to finaly succeed in making my own build, i have made some cool stuff befor only to find out that some of the interaction do not work how I imagined them to work, so i thought I come here and ask about the mechanics I plan to use in my build for Harvest.

I am planing to do a Herald of thunder build with the new ring Storm Secret, the Lone Messenger keystone from delirium and stormfire to make herald of thunder and inpulsa ignite.

Im realy thankful for any answers or directions to find these things out myself in the future.

    1. Does the Herald of Thunder on kill effect even trigger Inpulsa ?

    2. I assume the Inpulsa explosion can Ignite beceause Herald of thunder has the same line about not beeing able to shock, but its wiki page states it can Ignite with effects like The Three Dragons is this correct?

    3. I assume the Stormfire ring serves the same porpouse as The Three Dragons for Herald of thunder/Inpulsa as in letting them ignite is that correct?

    4. If all assumptions above are correct, would the Inpulsa explosion ignite, proc Inpulsa again if I shock affected mobs with another source befor they die to the Ignite

      thanks alot for your time

    Delirium [3.10] League Starter + Beginner Q's

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:57 AM PDT

I'm a PoE beginner and I had a few questions:

    • I read it's good to find a league starter to use each league and play until yellow and red maps (whatever that means) to grind currency and use that to make a "meta" character - good idea?

    • I read spell builds are better league starters because they are less reliant on gear, is this true? Should I go with casters then?

    • I was told I need to find a build that shows it can do "Delirium Wave 20", "Sirius A8", or kill "Uber Elder" (whatever those are) - is this very important?

Anyways, after some starter research, I'm trying to choose between these:

Which League Starter do you think is superior? Or maybe something not listed?

    Minion guardian as league starter?

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:03 AM PDT

Hello exile, I'm thinking to play templar guardian using minion after seeing glancing blow on left side of passive tree (i love block mechanic) and i have several question:

    1. Is it viable to play as guardian minion on league starter? Or just use other main skill?

    2. If it's viable, what kind of minion should is use? Baron zombie or spectre as dps or other kind that i don't know yet?

    3. What's the difference between necromancer and guardian in term of playing minion that i should be aware of?

    Thanks for the answer guys.

Undecided Between Two Starters: Pestilent Strike or Holy Flame Totems

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 03:35 PM PDT

I'm pretty undecided between the both of these starter builds, on one hand, Pestilent Strike seems like it could be a really fun skill and gearing for it shouldn't be too hard as Wasp's Nest can kinda just carry me, but like always I'm worried about doing a melee league start. Holy Flame Totem seems like a pretty basic and fun build, I think it'l be really reliable but, I'm worried about not liking the totem play style or totems just dying in endgame content. I'll link both PoB's here and I would love some advice from you guys!

    Pestilent Strike:

    Holy Flame Totem:

PS: The pathing to the sword nodes in the bottom left of the Pestilent Strike is to resemble where Tribal Fury will be, because I plan on picking it up until I can afford the anoint.

    ED/Contagion and Glancing Blows

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:43 PM PDT

    hey,

quick question: does the addition of Glancing Blows to the skill tree mean, that the timeless jewel that granted it previously is getting removed?

also, do you think traveling to the new glancing blows node will ever be worth it for a CI ED/Cont Trickster? those are a lot of skill points to get to that node.

    thanks

    A Tale Of Two Builds

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:27 PM PDT

I've never been good at this game. I used to have a guild of about 10 friends who ran dailies back in Abyss, and none of us had great builds, just fun ones we enjoyed that got us to yellow maps. I enjoy playing this game, but need builds that are equally fun and forgiving.

My first skill I truly enjoyed was SRS, but the build I had in Abyss wasn't great. I tried making an aura build with SRS to help my guild when we ran together, but I was a glass cannon. Someone was running a slayer cyclone, but his survivability was dependent on leech, so lab traps were a big problem. I found a cyclone jugg build that seemed ok and it worked well enough for us to actually beat the elder, which was thrilling.

I'd like to plan on two builds: one quick SRS build for fun mapping and one tanky cyclone that lets me just roam around and not worry about dying.

My SRS build below is based on someone's SRS/Vaal Skeleton build, but I couldn't figure out how he got a staff that autocasts the skeletons, so it's a little clunky, and not very sustainable, as I keep dying.

The cyclone build I made myself, because I thought I would just take all the life regen/leech nodes and be fine.

    Cyclone Jugg: https://pastebin.com/8WZw3aES

    SRS Witch: https://pastebin.com/bZrWyhR4

I'd love to have an SRS build that isn't too challenging to do. I have trouble with the Desecrate/Offering combo along with SRS and skeletons, but if that's required to make SRS work, I'll just keep practicing.

The cyclone build feels like it should be simpler, just throw a totem down and spin around it, then jump to the next group, but perhaps it's just not hitting hard enough to make the leech worthwhile.

Any help on either build would be greatly appreciated.

Build Question - Comparable Build to Diablo 2 Druid

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:28 PM PDT

Hello, Probably the wrong place to post but is there a spell or build similar to the Cyclone Druid in Diablo 2? I used to love running through D2 with small enemies just falling over dead. I guess Blade Vortex is comparable in a conceptual way but perhaps there is another build that I am missing.

Anyway thanks for your time. Cheers.

Trying to figure out what build to best use The Agnostic

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:33 AM PDT

I haven't tried agnostic prior to this, but do know that it is typically paired with Indigon due to its huge damage if you're scaling mana like you would with Agnostic but I also don't want to rely on it to be vuable. I'm also guessing that MoM will be a no brainer. So here are the options I've considered:

    Chaos DoT Trickster

Some kind of Necro build using Essence glutton (not sure what skill would fit best)

    Hierophant frostbolt totems

Brand build using either Necro, Hiero, or Trickster

Righteous Fire Jugg (need to figure how to best sustain the mana as well)

Some kind of Ascendant (it's right next to the scion start, so there bound to be something good to try with it)

What build do you think would best use Agnostic? What options am I not thinking of? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

What kind of minion build/easy build i should try next? ‍♀️

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 03:51 PM PDT

I have difficulty with my hands due to an accident, so mostly i play summon, minion or builds require less key input and twitch actions.

Already played as a main skill/focus

    • Dominating Blow
    • Herald of Agony
    • Herald of Purity
    • Spectre
    • Zombie
    • Carrion Golem
    • Holy Relic
    • Stone Golem
    • Skeletons
    • Arakaali's Fang
    • SRS
    • Volatile Dead
    • Flame Golem

    Hesitant to play this builds

    • Animate Guardian (lose expensive items when it dies)
    • Animate Weapon (lose weapons on new instances and on long fights/clunky summoning mechanics )
    • Dancing Dervish (lose weapons on new instances and om long fights/clunky summoning mechanics )

    • Flame Golem, Ice Golem (seems samey as other golems)

Builds i tried but didn't like

    • Totem builds

    Thanks 🌼🌼🌼

ED Trickster, how can I upgrade this? (SSF)

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 03:20 PM PDT

TL;DR: SSF ED Trickster, "best bow" only gives like 30-40k more damage on PoB. Worth it?

    https://pastebin.com/iUMVHqmw POB :)

So, recent SSF player. Started halfway through Delirium and liked it so much, I decided I would never (at least for awhile) play Trade League again.

Started with HoA Jugg but fate decided otherwise and threw me a Cane of Unravelling + Kinstugi from Deadly Rivalry Prophecy chain back to back (once I completed step one, I got it again, so on, so on).

Leveled a Trickster, ED/Contagion shenanigans later, I've cleared Tier 16 maps, done Phoenix (thanks Zana), 3 Elder boys (like, when he gives them the big succ and you go fight in a 3 phase arena stuff).

Survivability: Could be better honestly. Relies heavily on dodge and until I started using Kintsugi (used Tabula before 6link Cane of Unraveling), I died quite a bit in higher tier content. Also, I went Life, instead of Low-Life or CI, since it's easier to gear and I'm not really used to these.

Damage: It's a DOT build and I'm SSF, so I wasn't surprised that higher tier content mobs weren't dying instant. Bosses take time, but it's not like 5mins of running around. Well, if it's anything like Phoenix, then I just run around like crazy for 5 mins, casting ED/Blight from time to time.

Tried Sirus (awakening 5, right after the first time you're prompted to fight him) almost killed him. Died alot to the random flickering beams he does (after the cross like beams stuff, when there's a bunch in a circle).

I'm not complaining like "omg unfair, game too hard" BUT: Honestly, I don't know about PC, but on PS4, this fight would be ALOT better if the camera work was fixed. Most of the fight, I can't even see the boss and I'm getting attacked from miles away, having to react almost instant, which is also awful due to movement skills clunky behaviour on PS4.

    Gear:

I don't have super nice gear. I just focused on getting good resist rolls with a decent life roll (like bare minimum 45-50).

    My current gem setups:

Essence Drain - Controlled Destruction - Efficacy - Void Manipulation - Swift Affliction - Empower (lvl 2)

Vaal Blight - Efficacy - Infused Channelling - Void Manipulation

Contagion - Intensify - Increased Area of Effect (currently only linked to Inc AoE due to coloring problems)

    Malevolence - Blasphemy - Enfeeble - Enlighten

    Dash - Second Wind

This said, I know some obvious upgrades would be better rolled gear and better gems (quality/corruption) BUT, this is SSF and I'm not experienced in this, so I'm very likely to keep this gear until I find something really much better instead of crafting it myself.

Also, I know the best weapon would a bow with the following mods:

+3 Level of Socketed Gems (+1 and crafted +2)

% Chaos Damage Over Time Multiplier

    % Increased Chaos Damage

I'm still farming for div cards and trying to 6link a Thicket Bow on the side (has to be over ilvl 50, I know), yet I'm not even close to unlocking these mods. I also only have 2 frags for Pale Court, to get "Can have multiple crafted modifiers". That's why I'm using a 6link Cane of Unravelling.

One thing I noticed and it's bugging me: I've recreated the bow on PoB and the DPS increase doesn't seem like much. I see people say this type of bow is "must" for endgame content, but the increase it gives me doesn't feel like it would be that much. I get, at most, 50k more DPS. Honestly, in terms of bossing, that's not really that noticeable.

I just wanna know your advice and tips on how to improve and where to go from here. I really like ED/Contagion playstyle, even though I don't enjoy dodging alot, since it makes so I can't play PoE for a long time without hurting my wrists. As long as I get more DPS and squeeze in some more survivability, I'm fine with sticking to this.

Also, I know Minion Builds are a thing and require "low maintenance". I've actually played Baron Zombies (when it was broken good, legacy Baron/Shaper's Touch). This said, I found myself pressing alot less buttons while playing ED and dying alot less randomly. If I die now, I instantly know it's either: didn't dodge or can't dodge (DOT effects, On-Death effects, etc).

Thanks for any input! I'm really happy and sad about next league. Seems super fun, but I probably won't have time to play it, at least first 1-2 months :/

    Varunastra Build

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 02:06 PM PDT

I have been working on a way to abuse this weapon for many leagues off and on and I think I will finally seriously try in harvest.

I realize it is not optimal but I want as many crazy abilities and effects as I can. What would you guys recommend for a varunastra Build?

I was thinking raider or champion probably since they are both close to most weapon nodes and seem useful. I am a noob so make sure to dumb it down for me!

    Thanks everyone!
