PSA for beginners: Engineering Eternity created a video 3 years ago of how to make your own build

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 12:41 PM PDT

This video has yet to be surpassed in my opinion and with Harvest being focused around revamping slow-hitting "slam" skills, this video is more prescient than ever since in his step-by-step example he makes an EQ Slayer.

If you're a new or generally inexperienced player looking to make your own build, this video explains every step in great detail.

EE has been fairly absent from the PoE streamer scene as of late, what with real life getting in the way but his videos are still the absolute best for teaching newbies in PoE. I wanted to take this moment to plug his fantastic work.

    doryani's prototype

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 01:07 AM PDT

Anyone trying to figure out a PoB for this thing? Looks interesting to try some synergy with the new slam skills like touch of god. However using that item there is alot of attack speed you have to build. And of course figure out how to mitigate the lightning damage issue...

Secondary skill for Doryani's Touch build?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 04:48 AM PDT

I am thinking of playing some kind of Doryani's Fist build next league. Since using Doryani's Touch as my main skill would leave my chest free for another skill, I would like to figure out a second dps skill to keep up for single target while I keep slamming. The thing is, Doryani's doesn't require accuracy, so I'd rather ignore it on my tree, as it would be significantly less valuable than usual.

Knowing that, would a warchief totem (or more, depending on how many I can squeeze in) be worth it without any investment in totem life despite having to sink a link into additional accuracy? Or would I be better served by some kind of brand while scaling generic elemental/lightning damage? Are there any spell skills I could link to an arcanist's brand that would greatly benefit from Doryani's insane amount of flat added lightning?

Is there any updated Fire Elemental Hit bow build?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 03:57 AM PDT

    Hi,

I want my main build in the next league to be Fire Ele Hit, but the only guide in the forums (ascendant) hasn't been updated for a few leagues...

How is this kind of build doing endgame wise? Is it worth to fully invest in it?

    Thanks :)

Casual Player needs something that goes all the way.

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 09:20 AM PDT

I'm a casual player that's been playing for several leagues now. My delirium league starter was ED/Contagion Trickster. Recommended to me as a "just works" build that scales from beginning to end and so far I can't disagree. I have some trouble with the two click system for ED/Cont. Are there any other good "just works" builds that scale well and aren't summoner based that look like they might still be ok for 3.11? I know we dont have all the info yet but I'm just starting to think about what I want. I did play a baron zombiemancer a while back and it was OK but I'm not looking for that again.

I would like something I could play all league since I don't often have the time it takes to level multiple builds. Something I can upgrade a bit at a time once in maps. If it needs to level under one skill and then respec/switch at maps/endgame I'll need at least a vague guide/outline.

    facebreakers and bleeds

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 11:46 PM PDT

With the new hype with facebreaker and slam skills such as EQ, have they changed how facebreakers handles bleed? Facebreaker isn't counted when it comes to bleed damage since it uses your base damage before facebreaker's amp. So it does just about nothing. Now that EQ has base phys on aftershock, does facebreakers amplify that phys dmg and then apply the bleed?

Are endgame bosses immune to knockback or are they unaffected by it?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 10:41 PM PDT

I'm thinking of doing a staff build and came across Hegemony's Era, which has a 10% chance to gain a Power Charge if you Knock an Enemy Back with Melee Damage. The Blunt trauma passive on the tree grants a knockback on crit. Will that combo work against endgame bosses (e.g. Sirus) strictly for the purposes of power charge generation?

    Summoner league start early leveling

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 08:03 AM PDT

I am looking to level a summoner for the upcoming league which will transition into a spectre build in a5 with slave drivers. For the first few acts I am finding mixed responses on what abilities are most optimal.

Freezing Pulse+arcane surge until SRS are available. holy flame totem+phantasms SRS+infernal legion+minion damage

Is it worth using zombies or skeletons if so what would the links be?

Power Siphon Witch - League Retrospective Help

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 05:19 PM PDT

As the league is winding down, I want to get some input on ways I could have improved my build and things to think about when making future builds.

This build has very comfy map clearing outside of Delirium mists, but I feel that boss damage is not as smooth. Survivability is functional for regular clear, but doesn't handle spiky bursts well. Golem survivability is also an issue but that's likely due to not investing in them.

I've seen Power Siphon builds that easily have 5-10x the damage my build does, so I'm thinking I'm missing something important in my build regarding optimizing damage.

    (fire-based) Starter build ideas?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 04:47 PM PDT

Making this early for Harvest, just trying to come up with a plan. I wanna either blow shit up or burn shit down. I have yet to use any Templar or Marauder so I was thinking doing something with one of those if possible, no clue what to actually do though. Any suggestions?

Harvest Planning - League Starter Dom Blow - Warcry? Scion

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 07:29 PM PDT

    PoB: https://pastebin.com/NiR1ZAJz

Planning out my thought process for my Harvest League starter and I wanted to try out a Dominating blow Scion build and get some feedback from y'all! Aware Scion is maybe a little meh but fun to think about.

Currently thinking Guardian / Necro vs Elementalist. Leaning towards elementalist to get the extra Golem since there's plenty of sources of Minion dmg and am not sure if offerings are to clunk.

Pretty standard build, though am thinking of dropping Necromancer Aegis and instead go 2h for Rallying Cry shenanigans in Harvest.

Thought process is: 6 link for Dom blow - 6 link for zombies ( using aukuna's will )

Support with Rallying Cry and General's Cry ( for aukuna's will shenanigans ) with something here. Maybe it's my 6 link? and 4 link the zombros? Then standard usual minion gem loadout. Herald of purity / Golems / Aura's etc.

    Some other thoughts:

Worth pathing out to get Resolute Technique? Is guardian even worth it? ( I like it for the starting location)
Worth getting Necromantic Aegis or just skip that half of the skill tree and do other stuff.

Survivability gonna be an issue as melee?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

ED, TR, or SA to start?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 06:58 PM PDT

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has experience with Essence Drain, Toxic Rain, and Scourge Arrow trickster. More importantly, how do they compare to each other in terms of single target and survivability with a 100ex budget? I'm trying to find comparisons, but a lot of info seems to be outdated.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 07:42 AM PDT

I'm wondering how would Lacerate shield and axe be compared to bleed bow glad build on SSF? Any experience on endgame? I actually think it would be cool running with shield and axe, but maybe it's bad idea? Thanx in advance!

Looking for technical builds with (maybe) lesser used skills.

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 11:39 AM PDT

Going into the new league next week (or whenever the new league starts on PS4) I'm looking to source builds that require a bit of interaction to play. I like my "push a button and everything dies" builds, but as a lover of jank and experimenting I'd like to see if anyone has anything particularly goofy to try and work with that requires more thinking and setup.

I don't care if it blows through Uber late end game, just as long as it can make it into red maps without choking too hard.

Which builds can ignore map mods?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 08:38 AM PDT

I'd like to collect a list of all the builds that can essentially run any map. If they are league starters, even better. To ignore reflect we need chaos or something with reflect immunity .

    • Pretty much any mines are reflect immune. Just need mana flask for no regen
    • Chaos skills - TR(starter), ED/Cont(starter), Bane, Soulrend . (maybe scourge arrow?). Use flasks for no regen
    • HoAG as long as the skill you use to poison doesn't kill you with reflect.
    • Slayer with phys reflect immunity, need flasks for no leech
    • Elementalist or Ascendant/Ele for ele reflect immunity. Still needs to worry about no regen
    • Any build with rare rings can get full reflect immunity via influence mods, but that is not league start friendly to plan on. 100% reflect immunity is also an influence mod on rare chests. Certain builds that don't depend on gear as much (like summoner) could more easily swap in an otherwise bad rings or chest piece on reflect maps.
    • Sybils ring (80%) + pantheon provides 105% reduced reflect. Sybils is otherwise a bad ring but a single ring slot might be acceptable to swap in for some builds

Something that still might get you if you have 100% reduced reflect damage taken, not immunity, and have another modifier that increases your damage taken, like a curse, you will still end up taking damage as they work against each other.

*I am updating the list based on the comments, thanks for the suggestions.

    TR vs Bleed Bow

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 01:10 PM PDT

Just trying to figure out if I'd rather do Toxic Rain self cast, (I don't like mines) or bleed split arrow. Is one a better starter than the other?

EDIT: Thanks for the comments, gonna go with the TR guide someone posted here a few days ago <3

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 07:54 AM PDT
