since next league is about crafting experiments, can we get orbs of binding while leveling?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 05:08 AM PDT

i've always found it sad, that we are getting these, when its kinda too late already to make a big difference.

i feel like they could be really cool and im not too worried about the 'early-game-balance' :D but yeah, take it as another experiment :)

Would it really be that gamebreaking for Marauder to have Physical Damage on starting nodes instead of Melee Physical Damage?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 05:38 AM PDT

I'm watching the raing VOD of a recent Marauder a10 Kitava Rush and early acts is such a dumpster fire for a class that has one of his ascendancies (Chieftain) somewhat (pretty heavily tbh) associated with spellcasting. He already has problems with gearing, quest rewards and stat requirements. He really could use some help as he is by far the worst character to race with, and small nodes change would be the easiest one while having very little influence on anything else.

The Forbidden Trove introduces a safer and enjoyable way for buying/selling services

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 01:42 AM PDT

    Link to the discord: http://discord.gg/tftrove

Hello everyone, some of you know our server already but we recently introduced new features including a safer way for buying/selling services than ever before.

When you want to buy/sell services nowadays, whether its syndicate benches, corruption chambers or just crafting benches, you either go to global-820/trade-820 or a discord server that lets you advertise services, or you pm a trusted person.

    The Problems:

    • While these options might be fast and convenient, they include a high risk of losing your item, because the person you are dealing with might present fake forum vouches or have non at all, and in reality the risk falls upon you completely.

    • Going to a trusted crafter may be risk free but you have to pay a fee, which might be too heavy for you.

    • A discord server without trusted roles and vouches is only a bit more trustable than the in-game rooms.

    The Solution:

Our server exists for more than 2 leagues, and we have almost 4.5k members now, but we recently introduced new features:

    • A room for vouches. Once a service is finished the buyer vouches for the seller and helps them gain reputation in the server.

    • 4 trusted roles: The more vouches the service provider gains, the higher role he eventually gets and is trusted with more expensive items and by more people.

    • Competition: Our server has lots of activity by lots of users, and no one monopolizes anything. We also have leaderboards for services that are updated daily, weekly and monthly.

    • Higher moderation: We have 10+ people at any given moment who can control the situation and monitor the rooms.

    Additional Information:

    • We are going hard on services for the next league aswell, if you need bench crafts once league starts, you will get them at a low fee compared to the other service providers.

    • We have a room for bulk-trades, if you want to sell contents of an entire inventory, beasts, or other things that don't have a feature in any site yet.

Furthermore, the biggest tool developers (poe.ninja, craftofexile, poedb, poe-overlay, pob fork) are in the server in #tool-dev-chat where you can suggest ideas and give feedback for their tools.

A few pictures from the server itself:

Leech mechanics heavily limit the efficacy of slow attacks.

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 03:55 PM PDT

It doesn't matter how much you buff the damage or AoE of phatty two-handed slams. The current mechanics of leech will always favor attacking as quickly as possible.

    https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Leech#Mechanics

Yes, it's overly convoluted. No, it didn't used to be that way.

Basically, each leech instance is heavily capped. It doesn't matter how hard you hit. You can't reliably reach your leech cap when attacking slowly. Even if you did, everything's reset as soon as your life is topped off*, requiring you to work your way up to the cap again.

Edit: *Unless you have overleech, i.e. "Life Leech effects are not removed at Full Life".

It didn't used to be like this. There was a time when big hits gave you good leech. GGG took this away, nerfing it on multiple occasions, because they decided it was "too easy" for boss fights and the like. And yet they're pushing a slow, two-handed meta in v3.11 without changing leech.

Leech isn't the only mechanic affected by this. Impale, LGoH, charges (blitz and challenger included), and other stuff I'm probably forgetting all have their efficacy tied into hit rate rather than hit power.

This means Cyclone will continue to dominate, two-handed and otherwise, simply because it hits faster than other skills. The game's mechanics make it so hitting faster is always better than hitting harder.

So, even if you go all in on these new two-hander supports for massive damage and AoE, it's still in your best interest -- for a whole lotta reasons -- to attack as quickly as possible.

An explanation of Seed crafts and RNG

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 08:54 AM PDT

I've seen a lot of people discussing seeds, their rarity, and the power of the crafts on them. Especially sentiments like "T1 seeds will just be fodder" or "the targeted exalt seed will be really expensive".

I would like to clear up how seeds work from what we know with rolling their crafts, and what seeds have what crafts.

From what we know, there are 45 seed types split among 4 tiers with 250+ total crafts. You plant seeds from amount the 45 types of seeds, and when you kill the mobs, harvest the lifeforce, and look at the crafts in the collector, you will see crafts from the pool of 250 based on which of the 45 seeds you used.

You will be able to craft these options at the cost of life force, and when you are done crafting you can condense the rest of the life force to help grow other seeds.

Since the grove is part of the instance it is accessed from, you will only have access to harvested crafts until you open a new map, at which point you will lose access to your previously harvested crafts.

    Targeted Craft Seeds

Judging from the images of the crafts along with the images of the seeds we know that the majority of the crafts we have seen are T1 seeds, plus in the FAQ we were told for the seed "Reveals a Physical effect" "There will be a total of 8 outcomes" and we have seen 7 of these 8 outcomes.

Essentially many of the seeds give crafts for a certain type of mod like Physical, Defenses, or Caster. These seeds can roll one of 8 outcomes when harvested. These outcomes are:

    • ???
    • Targeted Chaos (rerolls the item with a guaranteed mod of the targeted type)
    • Targeted Chaos with a higher chance to roll the targeted mod type (essentially a 1socket chaotic resonator slam, guaranteeing 1 mod of the fossil type with a higher chance to roll mods of that type)
    • Targeted Reroll (removes a random mod of the targeted type and adds a new mod of the targeted type)
    • Targeted Divine (rerolls the values of a random mod of the targeted type)
    • Targeted Annul (removes a mod of the targeted type)
    • Targeted Exalt (adds a mod of the targeted type)
    • Lucky Targeted Exalt (rolls a mod of the targeted type twice and adds the one with higher tier/rolls)

As we can see, many of the most powerful crafts (targeted annul, exalt, and lucky exalt) will be on T1 seeds.

We also know the rarity of these rolls will depend on the ilv of the seed, with the rarest (exalt and lucky exalt) being common on seeds restricted to leveling ilv, and "exponentially rarer" on endgame ilv seeds.

So far we have seen the seeds for Physical, Defense, Caster, and Influence modifiers. The first three are T1, and Influence is T3. I am guessing that the seeds will follow Delve mod tagging and we will see Chaos, Fire, Cold, Lightning, Attack, Minion, Aura, Poison/Bleeding, Life, Mana, and Speed. I am also hoping there is one for Attribute mods.

    Other Seed Types

We have seen a few other seed types.

    • Socket color crafts: Gives crafts that change the color of (so far) one or two sockets to a specific color, or one socket to white (this is going to be very powerful for getting 5-6 off colors).
    • Socket count crafts: Gives craft that sets the number of sockets on an item. I'm assuming there will also be a socket link seed.
    • Unique rerolls: Gives crafts that change uniques into other uniques.
    • Elemental mod change: Gives one of six equally weighted crafts that swap a mod of one elements to another elements.
    • Currency exchange: This seed gives crafts that change one type of currency into other types of that currency.
    • [GUESS] Enchant crafts: I am assuming this is where the previewed flask enchant comes from. I would guess this could also do lab enchants and annointments.
    • [GUESS] Map? crafts: I am assuming this is where the upgraded Offering to the Goddess and Beachhead come from, and the does not consume sextant uses mod.
