Seed craft rates are at a point where we could argue pre-patch was better Posted: 27 Jun 2020 04:19 AM PDT let's be honest here, chaos like crafts rerolls are not what people are looking for. They're nice, allows us to not waste currency, and get mid tier items. But at one point, very fast, you don't need them anymore. Besides T4 and a some T3, the most sought crafts for most people are probably from T1 seeds the remove/remove+add/augment. I don't know what happened, but the rates are abysmal, to the point where I'm simply burned out at what, day 4 ? I love the crafting system, and I want to craft great items through it. But getting nothing, if not one sought craft, after spamming red maps for 15 hours a day is just so exhausting. Despite the low amount of seeds, there were so much better amount of sought crafts, proportionally, prior the patch which was supposed to only give more seeds and
Did the fix somehow add a .0 to the % rate ? [link] [comments]
[Disappointed Reddit thread] Pointless rant from someone with 7k+ hours in PoE Posted: 27 Jun 2020 07:50 AM PDT As a preface, I'm playing since open beta, skipped only 3 very early leagues. I played hardcore for first few years and playing SC since Tempest. My comment history paints me as a total GGG shill with short fuse, but I simply enjoy the game, have understanding for their unpopular decisions and even when I find it hard to agree with some of them I can see how it's good for the game in long terms. With that said - this league is absolutely the worst league I have ever seen. This is also the first time where I have unlimited time to play, and I'm quitting just one week in. I gave it my best, tried approaching the league from a different angle, tried to have fun with some alternate playstyles but no luck. Crafting is either convoluted, or useless. Drop rates are abysmal, there are no additional mobs, there is no additional content. I tried focusing on crafting goals, then rare crafts got nerfed. Can we get Synthesis flashback after 4 weeks at least, so people who hated it because of it's buggy launch can get another shot at seeing how amazing it was later? Can we get more modifiers for private leagues because I'd like to slap 300% mob life since 100% does nothing? Can you actually give us crafting in a league that's 100% crafting oriented? At this point I'll take anything since I have crapload of time, wanted to enjoy the league but it turned out to be worse than Perandus and Beastiary combined. Just to be clear, this is the first time in seven years that I, without any doubt, think GGG messed things up big time. If we're gonna be optimistic, that's actually a great track record so there's that. [link] [comments]

This was supposed to be a League that makes crafting more accessible. Please make it happen! Posted: 27 Jun 2020 02:40 AM PDT I really enjoy the league. I'm enjoying a more relaxed playstyle. I even enjoyed setting up my garden, and I really love the idea of crafting my own items. For that reason I am still using very supbar gear at the level of 94. I don't want to buy my best in slot gear, I want to craft it. For every non unique slot in my build I have an item in my stash waiting for an augment. I started planning out my gear in the mid 80's, began looking for bases and had all the items prepared around level 90. Since then I've been chaining red maps, hoping beyond reason that the next Harvest finally lets me at least finish one of these items. But the dreading feeling that I'll be level 100 before I can finish any of them becomes ever stronger. I understand that the augment mods are supposed to be rare, especially for ilvl80+ items. I get it. But this was supposed to be a crafting league. For once I don't want to open trade and buy my gear. I want to work towards my goals, but at this point I don't think it will happen :( [link] [comments]

Augument crafts appearance rates have been literally annihilated. Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:54 PM PDT I'm in for thousands of seeds ilvl 80+ without seeing 1 augument after patch was applied. This is outrageous. It feels like they brought it in line with actual exalt drops. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jun 2020 09:50 AM PDT Compared to other companies, sure GGG communicates a lot. They even have dedicated well known community representatives like Bex in regular communication with us plebs. But being good at communications isn't about the number of words. In fact, saying lots of words without conveying your intent or thoughts is actually poor communication. This past week has been filled with specific criticisms for GGG regarding Harvest league, and while in some cases they have been successful in hearing from the players what is wrong (see Jewel socket rolling on cluster jewels) in others they have been so completely far from accurate (increasing seed drops, annihilating good crafting rates). As a very long term player (silver kiwi pet 'sup boyzzzz!) I am becoming increasingly alienated and frustrated by design choices. Nowadays I am beginning to feel this game is no longer for someone like me. For reference I have a full time weekday job, can squeeze in about 2-4 hours a night Mon-Fri, and maybe 5-8 on weekends if I'm really going for it. This gives me a max number of hours a week of 36. GGG, you have the stats, how many players play like I do? How many play at 80+ a week? What kind of hours per player do you see as your target demographic? How many maps do you expect someone to run to go from T1 to their first T15 maps? You record all this stuff we can know nothing about. We have no way of understanding your decision making process, we can only infer your thoughts based on your actions unless you actually clarify them too us in words. You surely have an expected amount of time you think a player should play for x achieved goal? Specifically around league mechanics, you must have some goal in mind? Maybe your estimate is 100 hours per augment craft, or 200 to get to the boss? You base all of your design around randomness so I must assume you have very competent statisticians making models and giving you advice for drop rates and timescales? If not, why not? it seems fundamental to the game design to understand this kind of information. Sadly you hide all this information from us, and make decisions that for (what seems to be) a large part of the player base are completely unfathomable. It would appear that many many people feel your aim is to create an ultra-hardcore game where only the 1% of super-hardcore players get to experience end game content, make really cool items, and use cluster jewels to make really cool builds. I watch critique from lots of streamers, and I see especially the ultra-hardcore (THEY PLAY IT FOR A JOB) say things are fine, and things are fun. I want to clarify that I think they have zero ability to comprehend this game from a regular players perspective, I would love to see one of them run a 2nd account, which they only play for 3 hours on weeknights and 6 at the weekend and see just how far they make it over the course of a league. Of course, that would never happen because they'd realise how awful it is after only one week in. What I can say is, while I consider myself a fairly hardcore gamer (spend almost every night gaming, and every weekend), I feel like a worthless casual in this game. And by worthless I mean, even with those 36 hours/week I put in, much of the end game feels totally beyond my grasp, hell some of the middle game depending on where you put your classifications. Credit where it is due: Delirium was different; I managed to self-farm about 8! simulacrums, I had my highest level character of all time (96!) and I made more currency, and thus developed a stronger character than I ever had before. I had an absolute blast. I never afforded the herald-stacking craziness that some did, I just played a ton of cyclone and had a great time reaching heights I hadn't before. Delirium made me think that perhaps you were coming around to catering more to some of us less hardcore players, (hah, 36 hours a week doing something and saying its less-hardcore). Then Harvest arrived and my worst fears were confirmed. From your changes to the game, one can only assume you thought the availability of the end-game was too easy in Delirium. You felt that access to the league mechanic (simulacrum!) was too easy. You felt access to cool builds and items was too easy; and you responded. Across the board you re-hardcored the game and nerfed the living shit out anything accessible to the masses. And I'm left thinking, GGG doesn't have any intentions of making a game I want to play anymore. They are catering to a different crowd nowadays, and well if the changes we're seeing are indicative of the core design philosphy of the game then I guess with a heavy heart it is time to move on, for me. This was a wall of text, if you got this far highfive you! I really really hope I'm wrong and that player numbers this league will get GGG to recognise that accessible endgame =/= bad game; and that inaccessible endgame = poor player retention. Unfortunately, I have a feeling they will just blame player retention on "players don't like crafting leagues". Not listening as well as not communicating. Sigh. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jun 2020 05:48 AM PDT Animation Canceling was introduced as a repose to clunkyness of melee. For zoom zooms, it's good feature to not being locked in place. But for slow 2H slam builds, it only exaggerated the problem. At least, I can't stand it. [link] [comments] |
