Petition for GGG to NOT allow us to invite Lilly Roth to our hideouts but instead allow us to invite Siosa

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:49 AM PDT

Lily is already everywhere, from act6 to 10 and both Oriath and Karui Shore

Lily already has a lot of exposure

Meanwhile Siosa has been rotting in the library handicaped by GGG's lacklustre coding of stash tab that doesn't allow him to sell you stuff if you don't have the right currency in your inventory

Lily stole Siosa's roll, it's only logic to steal it back, not to mention that she's a strong independent women that travels, doesn't make sense to lock her in our hideout

BONUS He's a freaking Ghost!! That would be awesome in your hideout

Note: he could sell both unleveled and leveled(54) version of the gem. Siosa makes more sense, he's a scholar well versed in prominent figures of Wraeclast, especially those implicated in thaumaturgy like Doryani, Malachai, Atziri,etc... and he must feel lonely

Edit: as some mentioned, being a scholar well versed in lore and archives, Siosa's role in your hideout could be expended to being a registry of every pieces of lore you come across, a testament of "no stone unturned" and your interactions with your wraeclastian encounters

[Discussion] If nothing else, Harvest actually put real crafting into this game

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 09:59 AM PDT

Harvest, unlike pretty much every other crafting crafting method in POE is not pure gambling. The reason why high end crafting costs so much usually is mostly because every other step is gambling, and there's multiple steps where getting the wrong mod forces you to start back from step 0 if you fail a 20% annul chance or stuff like that. Oh, did your 20th exalt finally hit the last mod you needed but it's the lowest tier because for some reason we can roll lv1 gear mods in ilv 100 gear? Too bad, there's no way to fix this beyond a gamble that's more likely to just make you start all over.

Now, I don't mean to say there's 0 control over regular crafting, there is. But it's hard to deny that ultimately, crafting most stuff worth more than a couple exalts is a matter of how many pulls on the gambling machine you can afford to fail.

Harvest, on the other hand, fixes everything wrong with regular crafting while still keeping some of the gambling flavor. That low tier mod you rolled on the final step? Now you actually have a way to fix it that's much less likely to ruin your gear. You can actually improve your current gear instead of having to start all over. If your helmet is fine but now you need to go from T3 to T2 resist, you don't need to throw it away, you can farm elemental seeds and try. And yeah you will fail a couple times, but now your gear is temporarily broken instead of permanently unusable. However, they still put smart limitations. There are mods you can't add with harvest. There are mods that are much rarer with harvest. And yes, the highest end stuff remains a gamble. In short, Harvest is the first time I actually feel like I'm crafting and improving gear, not gambling. This is the first time every single non-unique gear I'm using is self crafted. This is the first league where I used an influence exalt instead of selling. Where I buy more fossils than sell. In other words, where I'm actually engaging with a major part of the gameplay.

Ultimately, I don't think harvest is, at it's core "too strong". The real problem is that regular crafting is "too weak" for the average person, and PoE itemization is built around gambling, not crafting. So when we get actual crafting, of course the system is orders of magnitude stronger than what we had and we can make broken gear.

I do not expect harvest to go core, nor do I expect PoE to change its itemization to make harvest "balanced". But honestly, I hope GGG manages to use this league and it's response, as far as crafting engagement goes, to find a system that's much closer to harvest than that mess we call "crafting" is. There has to be a better balance between 90% gambling and 90% deterministic Bis crafting

Making GG weapons for cheap with harvest fracture double essence

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:42 AM PDT

TL;DR: For the cost of ~2 ex, you can guarantee 2 Deafening Essence mods then use harvest remove mod + metamod to finish your weapon.

Fracture a prefix is going for ~100c right now. It's a 1/3 chance to fracture the desired mod, so on average 3 essence + 3 fracture prefix attemps (add 3x divines if you want a good roll on the fractured mod). You may need to craft some junk prefixes to satisfy the 3 prefix requirement. If essence rolled 1 prefix, reroll the essence.

Once you have your first essence mod fractured, you can use another Deafening Essence to get 2x Deafening Essence mods. The Deafening Essence roll is usually between the T1 and T0 roll, but getting the 2 T0 rolls would cost 10s of exalts vs ~2 with harvest fracture.

Example with a VD Spellslinger wand:

    1. Start with Imbued Wand base
    2. Deafening Essence of Anger for flat fire damage, fracture prefix 3 times on average. Cost 2 ex.
    3. Spam Deafening Essence of Woe for spell damage, look for no 3rd prefix or prefix that can be removed by harvest and is not caster. Look for empty suffix or suffix that can be removed by itself. Can also gamble with annul here, worst case use another essence. The goal is to isolate the 2 essence mods, which you can do with annul, wipe suffix, or harvest remove. Optional: divine the spell damage roll here. Cost 4 ex.
    4. Multimod, fill suffix with non-fire mods. Cost 2 ex.
    5. Augment fire, add / remove fire until +1 fire gems or high added fire damage to spells (~30% chance, ~50% if fire added as chaos is OK too). Cost 2 ex.
    6. Remove metamod, craft local crit.
    7. Augment crit 2x, this guarantees spell crit and crit multi. The crit multi tier is RNG because rerolling crit is too expensive to be worth it. It costs 1 ex for add / remove crit and chance of getting crit multi is 1/3, so ~3 ex per reroll. Augment crit is 1 ex each, so 2 ex total.
    8. Craft prefixes can't be modified, add / remove caster mod to reroll the spell crit. 2 ex for metamod, 20% chance to hit T1 or T2 spell crit. Add / remove caster is 50c, so 2 ex here.
    9. Optional: divine suffixes.
    10. Craft trigger socketed spells, craft complete.

If you're on a super budget, you can stop at step 3 when you get a decent essence with open suffix or harvest removable suffix. Or you can stop at step 4 and craft fire damage to spells and spell crit / crit multi. This saves 8 to 14 ex for something 5% worse (lose spell crit or crit multi). There are a lot of essence outcomes that can be turned into good items via harvest crafting.

16 ex total for a wand that's 5% worse than the #1 mirror wand (Honour Weaver) and the crafting is mostly deterministic except for the crit multi roll. It's up to you if that 5% extra dps is worth 150 ex. In previous leagues the same wand would go for 50+ ex.

Harvest with the crafting rate buff is big bang for buck for the middle class player to reach mirror tier gear at 1/10th the price of mirroring gear. It'll be interesting to see what other close to mirror tier items people come up with that can be crafted deterministically. IMO, I think Harvest is GGG's way of reducing reliance on mirroring gear at the high end. Mirror tier items will still be BiS especially if mods are legacy, but now we have viable alternatives for much cheaper. Harvest is doing to the high end market what master crafting did to the low to mid tier gear market.

The MTX for Volatile Dead is significantly less laggy than the default skin for the skill. Are there any other skills that this is also the case for?

I'm wondering if any of you have a similar experience with combat framerates getting smoother with a specific mtx.

Almost every shield mtx are Kite shield or round shield. It would be nice to have a selection of tower shield mtx, just making a tower version of already existing kite shield mtx would be nice (ie: badge of skull tower shield)
