How are people min-maxing their slam? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 02:53 AM PDT I've been playing Sunder Facebreaker and it's been a pretty nice skill to clear the game with. Just finished AL8 Sirus but the damage was a bit lacking. Usually, most bosses get chunked into oblivion but the lacking single target was definitely showing during the Sirus fight. Just wondering what people are doing to push their deeps to the next level and if there's any improvement to be made with my build. PoB Build: https://pastebin.com/K6BJUCVb [link] [comments]

Any thoughts on the eternal apple + earthshatter build? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 01:50 AM PDT I came up with an idea of auto warcry build like this: https://pastebin.com/RSQTRRKR The gears are far from optimized, but I tried in-game and the mechanics worked fine:
The gameplay is smooth with auto warcries and it is a sort of DPS boost for earthshatter. However, I am not sure it is good enough to compare to other earthshatter builds. Eternal apple and gluttony are core items (weak unique items, except for triggering warcries) and you cannot use a 2h weapon. Should I further invest in this build? Feedback is welcomed! Arcanist Brand Bladefall + Blade blast: Non-miner Boss killing Posted: 04 Jul 2020 02:49 PM PDT Greetings exiles, I've been playing on and off since Sacrifice of the Vaal and I've finally managed to put together a somewhat good boss killer that I can call my own. TL:DR Bladefall is one of the best skills for arcanist brand, especially when combined with Blade blast because of less aoe and easy blade blast detonation. Pros: Boss dps around 7-12 mil, depending on gear level. Can run all content. Scaleable from start of league to end of league. Cons: Clear is mediocre. Very dependent on links. Survival is pretty bad. The boss needs to stand still for optimal dps. I would put this build in NOT HC viable because of the delay of cast to hit for Bladefall. Also, Arcanist Brand only casts if you are within LoS of the brand and its target. Doors are the enemy. It might work in SSF, but dependency on gear and ascendancy makes it difficult. POB link: https://pastebin.com/RphzHdp8 Introduction: Started out this league trying to find the most fun way to abuse arcanist brand, which obviously led to wave of conviction. When the nerf hit, I didn't really want to change out of phys-conversion while also trying blade bast. This led to 3 options: Bladefall, blade vortex and ethereal knives. Blade vortex is not cast on the brand and ethereal knives have abysmal hit detection and blade creation, so that left Bladefall. Basics: Less aoe. It's that simple. Bladefall has one of the best synergies with less aoe alongside fire and ice storm. When supported by spell cascade, conc effect and arcanist brand we have 0.7*0.6*0.84=0.3612 area, which means that the target most likely will be hit by all 15 of the volleys (5 for each cast times the 3 areas it affects). Futhermore, the amount of blades created each cast is at the very least 7.5 per brand, considering we are not casting Bladefall ourselves. Combined with the fact that the blades created on the ground is bunched up from bladefalls reduced aoe, blade blast becomes very viable. This leads to pretty good dps if you line up casts from the brand with blade blast casts. This makes Cast speed HIGHLY sought after, since it helps with multiple facets of the build, both creation of blades and detonating them in sync with the brands. Cast speed on Jewels, Staff etc. is a must. Further down I will provide the rough calculations of damage. Ascendancy: Choice of ascendancy is really up to what you enjoy playing, but I would highly suggest Inquisitor. The ES-regen helps with fixing EB and survivability, cast speed helps with the timing and creation of blades and the crit stuff is as viable as ever. This also unlocks a very easy way to get Arcane surge from Watcher's Eye, since every time you cast you stand still and create consecrated ground. Order is: Sanctuary - Pious Path - Righteous Providence - Inevitable Judgment Passive Tree: The tree shown in PoB is what I leveled to and is currently using. There might be some optimization in life nodes to be made, but getting 6.5 k effective life with MoM is fine. Some comments however: Staff nodes: Use these if going a staff version. I would recommend this because we are using uniques in both glove and helmet slot, making the change to having the 6-link in those slots very difficult. 2 6-link is what should be prioritized for damage. Cluster jewels: Since we are using Swiftbrand, a huge QoL improvement is the Remarkable passive. Also, Brand Loyalty is just 10 % more damage for BOTH the brand and the Blade Blast. I also get a small jewel with Mystical ward to fix ES leech and get some needed Spell Block. Other than that, Glancing Blows is OP and Runebinder is a must. If you do not have the Devouring Diadem, path all the way to EB. Main links: Arcanist brand - Bladefall - Spell Cascade - Consecrated Effect - Swiftbrand - Hypothermia These are all must haves. They are written in "most essential" order, but hypothermia is crucial for freezing packs of mobs for survivability, hence the dependence on links mentioned above. You could maybe get away with having the last link being Energy Leech, but I would suggest to get that on the tree instead because of socket shortage. Swiftbrand is there because of the increase rate of both damage but also blade generation, but is switched out to Physical to Lightning in reflect maps. Blade Blast - Physical to Lightning - Controlled Destruction - Hypothermia - Added Fire Damage - Spell Echo/Energy Leech The links for Blade Blast are much more lax, you can get away with almost anything that supports regular phys conversion builds. I would however suggest to not use Elemental Focus, both for survivability and shocking capabilities from Blade Blast hits. I used to put ES Leech here, but it might be better with Spell Echo to time the Bladefall Casts correctly, needs further testing. Huge plus here is the Unnerved status we get for free! Support links: Helmet: Hatred - Herald of Purity - Herald of Ash (Switched out for Zealotry if going with Devouring Diadem.) - Enlighten Regular phys conversion auras. We can reserve all our mana because of Eldritch Battery. Enlighten is there if you want to add Precision/Change HoP to Discipline. Gloves/Boots: Cast when Damage Taken (Rank 2) - Increased Duration - Steelskin (Rank 11) - Lightning Golem (Rank 4) A simple CwDT setup, nothing really special to comment on. CwDT is level 2 because of the extra levels it gives to Steelskin and Lightning Golem. Flame Dash - Enduring Cry - Second Wind - (Precision if you have Diadem + Enlighten in helm) The three first ones are important, the last one is open to whatever you see fit. Enduring Cry is so OP we don't need any warcry support to use it as an extra heal during boss fights. Gear: Gear choices are completely up to you, as this is a somewhat regular spell caster. I did a non LL version because the damage is more than enough and I really wanted to try EB with MoM. This might not be optimal, but it makes gearing way easier, especially if you are using a staff. The loss of ES from a shield might be a bit too much for a non-trickster/occultist. Check the PoB-link to see an example of gear that I'm using. Here i will highlight the uniques I use and some rare modifiers that might help. The Devouring Diadem - Good ES, less mana reserve, extra gem levels and EB built in really makes this helmet BiS for this build, if going the MoM version. This makes it possible to use Zealotry instead of Herald of Ash, which unlocks Arcane Surge for this build. Hrimburn - Saviour of phys conversion builds since forever. Optimally, we would have a phys to cold Watcher's eye and craft phys to cold or lightning on a pair of regular gloves. That is expensive though, especially if you want to combine it with the Zealotry interaction. Taste of Hate - Damage and survivability, perfect flask. Staff - Get something with levels to phys gems, cast speed and crit chance. I would also highly suggest to go with a non-eclipse staff, since most of the block chance comes from the staff implicit and Glancing Blows. Rings - Curse on hit Assassins mark first and foremost, then either Life or ES on spell hit to help reg HP. Since we are doing about 30 casts per brand per second, this equates to a lot of regen. Amulet - This should be crit multi and dex and with Runesmith allocated for Damage or any other defensive node if you want more survivability. And that is all. All other stuff is really just fluff to make numbers bigger. However, I need to address the big elephant in the room: Awakened Spell Cascade. You don't need this. It's just there to make the build a bit nicer for clear and probably help with boss dps. I say probably as I have not seen any significant increase in boss dps when trying it out. The Guardians/Shaper Phases/Elder Phases still take around 2-3 secs, might just be optimizing the playstyle that is the problem. But it feels oh so nice to see the amount of Blades you can put out, and it really helps with creating smoother Blade Blast detonations. Damage Calculations: Firstly, Brand nodes does not currently work in the PoB Fork for the spell supported by Arcanist brand. It does however work in-game, just looking at average damage when allocating nodes. That said, I'm still going to use the average damage of 100k, even though it's probably at least around 150-200k. That 100 k comes from my gear (shown in PoB) and should not be taken as optimal, same with activation frequency. Bladefall Damage: 100 000 * 5 * 3 = 1.5 million per cast of Bladefall, per Brand using regular Spell Cascade. Realistically, lets say only half of them hit, so 750 k per Brand per Cast. 2 Brands on the target brings us back up to 1.5 mil and times the activation frequency of 2.75 per second makes it 4.125 million DPS in a worst case scenario of missing a lot of the casts. For blade creation, I'm assuming the Blades created are counted as not created by me, which makes for 7.5 Blades per brand per cast; 15 for 2 brands and times 2.75 for the activation frequency: 41,25 Blades created over 1 second. Wouldn't you look at that, that is almost perfectly around the 40 limit on Bladefall! If we are using Awakened Spell Cascade, we get 2 additional areas which may hit the boss and which creates blades. That makes the Damage 2.5 million per cast instead which equates to 6.875 million dps. The Blade creation is now up to 24 for 2 Brands times the activation frequency: 66 Blades per second, which means we need to cast Blade Blast at a faster rate to detonate 40 Created Blades in between casts. Blade Blast Damage: This is the tricky part. How many blades do we detonate to get the best dps? According to my bossing up until this point, you should detonate at many blades as possible with every cast for that 20 % more aoe overlapping on the boss. So, using regular spell cascade, we should detonate about every second to make sure that we have the highest chance of hitting the boss. That means: 1 Blade = Around 90 k Damage 40 Blades = 3.6 Million extra Damage each second Lets make that 3 million in case some blades miss, which equates to 7.125 million Sirus DPS. This is, as mentioned, very much in the lower ballpark of DPS. According to my testing, the DPS is much higher. With Awakened Spell Cascade, we create 40 Blades every 0.6 Seconds, which means we can multiply the 3.6 million damage by 1.6 which equates to 5.76 million dps. Added to 6.875 Bladefall DPS makes it 12.635 million Sirus dps. It should be mentioned again that the extra areas created might not really hit the boss from Awakened Spell Cascade. The Blade Blast calculations should be correct though. These calculations are as mentioned very rough and could be either way lower or way higher. Upgrades: The best upgrades has already been mentioned, but this build can really go the distance. Since this is a phys conversion build, doing the Eternity Shroud switch when you have the cash would make the dps even better. I would suggest to go for an Crusader explode chest instead, especially if you are doing the MoM EB version, since it makes the Life as extra ES possible and helps with clear. The DPS is enough. Watcher's Eye can be made as cheap or as expensive as you want them. The one constant is the Zealotry; Arcane Surge since cast speed is so important for the dps and creation of blades. Get anything which uses the other auras above, best is Hatred; Crit and Hatred; Conversion. Final Comments: This build really shines on bosses but might be in the most active playstyle I've done in a long time. Constantly casting brands and detonating the blades while juggling warcry uptime makes for hectic but rewarding play. Play this if you want that sweet sweet melting of bosses and don't really care about dying in the process. [link] [comments]
Which Cyclone champion build is best for bossing? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 03:49 AM PDT So, i've been looking at cyclone champion builds and theres like 800 variants to it. I'm running one with facebreaker/abyssus/rigwalds curse, and im not really blasting through bosses atm. Curious which of the many variants of hte build ( facebreaker, One with nothing, 1h + shield, dual wield , 2h ) is best for bossing? lets say with like a 5 ex budget atm. [link] [comments]
Easy SSF 2H build with comprehensive PoB guide? question about duelist shield nodes Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:09 PM PDT Hello, The duelist shield nodes read "attack skills deal X% increased damage while holding a shield". I was wondering if this increased damage also applies to ailments or not. I know the nodes in the marauder area will say "inc physical dmg with X weapon , inc dmg with ailments " as two separate parts but the duelist shield nodes dont say physical dmg they just say dmg so I was curious of that "damage" also applies to ailments. Taking ideas for the ultimate Pillar of the Caged God build Posted: 04 Jul 2020 10:55 PM PDT When I first started POE, I played PotCG, exclusively. As I learned more about the game, I branched out and have not really touched it since. This build is for standard, and something to sink my currency I've accumulated over the years. The goal is the ultimate Pillar build. Like to here ideas about what you would do regards to which skills, ascendancies, rares pieces, etc etc. Pillar of the Caged God is a staff that gives damage for stacking strength, so obviously strength and flat phys is key on almost any piece of gear. Posted: 04 Jul 2020 09:45 PM PDT I made a post last time that really helped but I am having trouble with Sirus as COC ice nova. Both elder and shaper are pretty easy and mapping is fine as well. Are there any tips or item builds strictly for Sirus. https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/jasonnn123/characters This is what I am using currently. [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Jul 2020 04:23 PM PDT I know necros are great at bossing but what is the best build? I have a zoom zoom wander up and running and want to turn my league start necro into a boss killer. [link] [comments]

Toxic Rain Trickster w/ Kaoms Heart Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:54 PM PDT As title suggests, theoretically a fully life based build, scaling pods for damage, 6L on Chaos DoT crafted bow, would mean giving up typically Caustic Arrow 6Lin place of Kaoms? Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Is primordial bonds actually bad for golem builds? Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:37 PM PDT So, I was messing around with my golem build large cluster jewels and noticed my DPS went down with Primordial Bonds in the cluster jewel. My golem setup is: 7 stone, 1 ice and 1 chaos Link to POB: https://pastebin.com/tQb0FFpe There are 3 clusters available in the build: 1 with rotten claws and renewal 1 with rotten claws, renewal and primordial bond 1 with rotten claws, renewal and vicious bite The vicious bite one gives the most DPS, followed by the rotten+renewal and primordial bonds last. Anybody know if its a problem with POB or is primordial bonds really worse them the small passive? [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Jul 2020 05:37 PM PDT so every league i've played, i get stuck at about level 90-93 and fail to progress beyond normal maps. i will get oneshot by mobs, or at least i die so quickly out of nowhere that it's impossible for me to react. last league i tried a lacerate bleed gladiator, the build was satisfying to play, until i lost more xp then i gained due to frequent death. so i decided to give it another go this league, this time it's a crit build. and once more, same story. here is the build i am going for: https://pastebin.com/zUaYCxtV here is where i am right now: https://pastebin.com/xVgRLGNm 5k life (i know it's not that much, but the target build only has 6.3k life so w/e), 14k armor (when i used granite flask, i ditched that for amethyst flask), all resists capped, semi-permanent fortify, immortal call that is as close as i could get with the money i farmed so far - with a few changes, most notably, i didn't yet went for the warcry setup on the boots, i really like how kaom boots keep me moving, and the initial build didn't include those warcrys so i will try without for now. also, i am going for chaos resist cap with the flask, as this seemed to help quite a bit with the one-shots. i still get one-shot, just not as often. still more then enough to destroy all the progress i make. most recent, in a tier 11 or 12 map, found a monolith and one of the boss mobs simply one-shots me across half the screen. and when i was somehow able to dodge, he would chase me around faster then i can leap slam away. what i find most confusing is how people can play this with -60% chaos resist and still do all the content, and make it look like it's the easiest thing in the world. i fail to see how i should improve here. i hope someone could look into this, i am obviously missing something. SSF player needing help push end game Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:34 PM PDT Hey guys and girls I'm a softcore SSF player needing ideas for a CI build that would have good DPS with realistic investment. I do have a 650 chest 6 linked, 150es boots and everything already but I'm new to CI builds and have no idea what's going to have enough damage. I have been using a miner but I didn't invest anything into him. Don't want to invest into him because he's not really that fun to play and not a tanky character. Any feedback is welcome. Thank you! I need help with my abberaths hooves auto bomber. Posted: 04 Jul 2020 05:29 PM PDT Pastebin link above. I'm onto red maps and they're not crazy difficult but if I make a few wrong moves I die instantly. My defense layer is "freeze enemies forever and kill them before they wake up" I need more life, but I can't drop my damage too much otherwise I won't be able to kill stuff with the hooves to set off the autobombing chain. Any improvements I could make? I know I need more life but I've kind of exhausted my options around me. Thanks [link] [comments]
Advice Needed on advancing my SSF molten Strike Jugg Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:06 PM PDT Essentially, I've done all the basic farming for SFF (got myself a tabula and capped res with other gear) and my damage is rather respectable. The problem I'm having is I don't know how to advance. I know that for my BiS weapons I want Grelwood Shank and Beltimber blade, however to acquire these I need to farm Elder Guardians, which means I need to be able to comfortably do that content with lesser weapons. Is there anything that I should be considering when looking for weapon bases, item level, or influence that I would need to craft acceptable weapons until I get to that point? (I also need to farm Xoph for the amulet but that is a concern for after I've got the weapons, unless it's easier?) Any advice is deeply appreciated! EDIT: Forgot to provide PoB: https://pastebin.com/hyBrZyUR [link] [comments] |
