Harvest shouldn't go core, but deterministic crafting recipes should be given to Einhar

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 09:06 AM PDT

See title. Harvest is a fine league mechanic, but it's too invasive and doesn't mesh well enough with the game's primary loop to be something you'd want to do every league.

Beastcrafting's most interesting elements are its ability to add fixed mods (such as the aspects) and other unique crafting options (imprints, add prefix/remove suffix, reroll values, etc), while also meshing well with the core gameplay of endgame.

Adding some of harvest's crafting options to beasts would feel like a natural extension of bestiary's systems, while also giving beastcrafting some much needed love after it got outscaled by power creep.

[Suggestion] Let us unstack /split Exalts into shards for all those 1.5 ex trades

That would reduce so much time spent trading currency before the actual trade.

It doesn't matter how good Syndicate dialogue is, when several members are talking at the same time

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 01:05 PM PDT

The Syndicate have very cool voice lines. They are witty, they refer to your past actions, and they are delivered with great voice acting.

However, when fighting 2-4 Syndicate members at the same time, they talk over each other. Having several voice lines play at the same time is quite annoying to listen to (and near impossible to comprehend).

Perhaps it would be possible for a Syndicate member to run a check before starting a voice line, something like "Is there another member speaking right now?". If so - abort voice line. Another option would be to queue the next voice line after the current one, however this can get very awkward very quickly (imagine hearing introduction voice lines from members you've already executed, for example).

I'm guessing this isn't a hard fix, and it is a guess - I'm no game developer.

    What do you think?

    r/PathofExile Plays: The Lord’s Labyrinth! Part 22

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 06:44 AM PDT

Welcome back! This is the most recent installment of this sub's playthrough of the official Path of Exile Gamebook/CYOA book. We play as Weylin of Ezomyr, an ex-arena gladiator, chosen to traverse the Lord's Labyrinth for our chance at becoming Emperor! Every day at 10am EDT, I'll post the latest series of events and choices that you all get to vote on and discuss. Part 21 is here.

Last time, we got caught in the middle of a trap set by Izaro, where we had reached for a special item but had to choose between fleeing, predicting the traps, or standing our ground. Slightly less than half of you voted to try to follow the pattern of the traps, so let's put on our thinking caps!

    The relevant pages are here.

You leap into motion, sprinting around the statue in a clockwise motion, chasing the darts and blades. Empires require strength and you know that you're stronge--

Your vision shifts crazily and you slam into the ceiling with a bone-shattering crunch, the stone panel beneath your feet pistoning inexorably upward. Dazed and broken, you land on the treacherous flooring in a crashing heap. Mechanical noises echo faintly beneath your ears, and you feel the panel quivering, preparing for another explosion towards the roof. Izaro's voice barely penetrates the pain clouding your mind.

"An emperor knows that mortal strength is nothing against the strength of nature itself."

You launch skyward once more, and this time the impact is terminal.

YOU ARE DEAD. YOUR ASCENDANCY IS OVER.

To begin again, turn to 1.

Alas, poor Weylin! I knew ye well!

I had a feeling that this wasn't going to end well. Izaro has placed a lot of emphasis on wisdom so far, so I suspect that standing still was the key there. Ah well.

Do not despair yet, fair Exiles! In this land, time is convoluted, and great heroes from times past phase in and out before our very eyes.

Tomorrow, Season 2 of our playthrough will begin! We're starting all the way back at square one, baby! I would naturally encourage you all to pick a different route this time, but the choice is yours! Join me tomorrow for a fresh start and a clean slate!
