    Did anyone notice that amidst all the raider buffs, GGG left the door wide open for spellcasting raider? All the "attack" damage nodes have been wiped away, and you could make a raider with an easy path to Spell and attack dodge cap, along with even some cold conversion right near the starting point. Has anyone else toyed with this idea? I'm seriously looking into the viability of a pure physical blade vortex raider. I'll post more details after patch notes tomorrow but if anyone else is looking into this, leave some knowledge below! ✌️🤘

    Hello!

    I wanted to touch upon something recently teased to us regarding Frost Bomb:

    • Frost Bomb now has an added damage effectiveness of 300% (from 200%).
    • Frost Bomb now deals 14 to 21 cold damage at gem level 1 (unchanged), up to 1336 to 2003 at gem level 20 (from 959 to 1439).
    • Frost Bomb now gains additional radius as the gem levels, up to +7 at gem level 20. This change enables the skill as a powerful nuke ability when fully supported.

    Much like with discharge, these buffs suggest the possibility of a nasty ignite combo. With Elementalist, Shaper of Flames allows all damage to ignite, which means your Frost Bomb's massive base damage plus archmage. Pair this with Mastermind of Discord (bonus -25 exposure from any source), and you're going to have no problem taking down tougher content. What I'm thinking is the following:

    -50 cold res from frost bomb-50 lightning res from WoC-50 fire res from Elemental equilibrium + -50 fire res from the quickened scorching ray (doesn't hit, so it doesn't reverse EE)

    Altogether, you get a massive hit on enemies that otherwise would resist the initial damage (thus reducing your ignite and chill/shock effects) and your ignite can get a whopping -100 fire res that isn't modified by boss "reduced effect of curses". Heart of Destruction further juices this combo up with more elemental damage (which might help considerably if we take less duration support) and huge AOE for map clearing.

    There's definitely more than can be toyed with here, but I think this has potential to be extraordinarily fun considering the size of the bomb and potential to do all content. Thank you for reading and please let me know what you think!

    Edit: I see a lot of concern regarding consistency, so here's what I dug up:

    • Phantasmal quality adds 1% less duration per quality so with Window of Opportunity anoint and level 21 less duration, we can get the bomb to go off in .5 seconds without any other influences
    • Phantasmal quality also grants 1% CDR per quality, so with the 30% helm enchant and an item with CDR, you'll be at about 1.5 cooldown. You could swap in second wind for clearing to bring that down to about 1.25 which I think is more than enough for most people.

    Edit 2: I realize now that the wiki wasn't entirely accurate as nerfs were made to prevent resistance penetration double-dipping. The Wave of Conviction and Frost bomb's exposure will not affect the overall ignite damage, but still provide useful benefits to chill/freeze/shock. Thank you to those that pointed that out!

    Best location for builds

    Hey guys, I was wondering where do you find the most reliable builds for a new league. There are so many websites, forums, videos and more that provide the best builds each league but I feel this is overwhelming and some builds are clearly not in the best position for the upcoming league with changes and I want to know how you decide what build is going to be fun as well as powerful.

    Elementalist Ignite Divine Ire builds

    I've been playing PoE since Abyss or Delve but never much, mostly about 1 lvl 85-90 char per league. I saw the elementalist rework and I'm really interested in playing a Divine Ire ignite build but I don't really saw any poB on Reddit so I was wondering if anyone had already one in stock. Moreover, kinda wondering how you level those since I've played mostly poison or attack based builds.

    Toxic Rain Miner - Ascendancy?

    I just looked through the ascendandy changes and now im unsure of which class would be better for a toxic rain miner.

    Trickster obviously got a nerf for DoT builds, but Saboteur also got a little damage nerf so I don't really know which is better now. I guess it is still Trikcster since it is very tanky and still has some damage?

    Battlemage/Fanatic Ice Nova. Cheap 3m sDPS, 9.2k ehp. Better than current Heirophant Ice Nova?

    Ever since Inquisitor ascendancy was revealed I've been trying to come up with a way to use Fanatic. I think I've found a good one

    Self-cast Ice Nova Frostbolt, except the Frostbolt is linked to CWC Cyclone to generate fanaticism charges while casting it.

    Probably league start viable.

    2.5m sDPS, up to 3.8m with Pledge

    8k ehp, up to 9.2k with Glorious Vanity

    Ignite question

    Hello,

    I havent played an ignite build for ages, but as far as I know, generally the best source of ignite was or still is divine ire with stormfire. How about flame blast, fireball or potentially firestorm if they boost the numbers for the next league? Or even the doubled cast speed SR. Do you think it can compete with DI that automatically allow you to abuse EE? The free EE seems super strong. Using a fire ability for ignite means I would have to have extra ability to cast for EE or rip a ring slot for golem. Any opinions?

    Looking for Phys-light-cold convert BV builds. Are there any? Is elemancer cold conv bv a decent option to play?

    As the topic goes. I did a thought experiment about herald of ice + frost golems elemancer and started looking for builds but nothing really popped up. So i thought about "the best damage possible" and figured it would be double dipping bv with badge of brotherhood rings. So how viable do you think such a build can be? Is it simply better to make a scuffed aura stacker instead or ice golems + herald of i e and cold convert bv can be a thing?

    So one day i was messing around with pob and came up to the thought that trickster is very well suited for dots in general, not only chaos dots, and is very tanky at the same time. Then i thought that my harvest bleed bow glad was, despite his 6.5kHP, not very tanky. At all...

    So i took my harvest glad's pob, removed all the irrelevant gear and replaced it with stuff like kintsugi for the tankiness, vertex because idk trickster at all (never played one) but i know that the helmet is kind of bis with the ascendancy. Didn't bother maxing resistances in pob bc it looks like there's enough room on the rings to come up with enough resistances.

    Looked pretty decent imho. I decided to make a test run of the build in flashback, as i had nothing better to do.

    Here is the state of my trickster after 51h of /played (a bit more than 2 weeks irl).

    Not...that impressive. I was never able to link the bow to get the second 6L so i had to always swap gems for puncture on conquerors and the like. I got the Kintsugi from heist league after the merge, wanted to check how tanky it would feel but didn't really play past that. I'm not so sure that kintsugi is actually so much needed. I was already just blasted by how tanky the trickster feel, how fast he is...that was my first trickster and f*** this ascend is totally busted ! :D That was great ^^

    I was able to take down Sirus A5 deathless on the first try, didn't push to A8.

    Sharing this here bc maybe some of you will be able to try and min max the build. I'd be happy to see a showcase of a bleedster oneshotting Sirus :)

    If I wanted to try a Summon is Skelemages the play now?

    Never tried a summoner, and was considering it for a currency farmer, after today's notes though it looks like Survivability will be an issue for Specters now and we cant just re-summon like golems. So I was considering either a skele mage or melee build as a league start.
    Is this a bad idea for league start, and should I just not start summoner? Like I said never tried one before and don't really want to try a league start one if I'm just gonna be gimping myself to push a playstyle.

    Ice Crash+Frost Bomb Inquisitor?

    First time asking about a potential build:

    Looking at Instruments of Zeal and how Ice Crash involves stopping for a moment, which would trigger Pious Path and Instruments of Virtue, wouldn't this give a lot of tankiness and wouldn't both Ice Crash and Frost Bomb have enormous AoE and damage?

    Any ideas on weapons to maximize Battlemage for a cold build?
    Comment Suggestions: Debeon's Dirge (which encourages warcries, which will benefit Ice Crash and 150% ele damage to both),...

    I imagine running in circles in Maven's arena, alternating between screen-wide Ice Crashes and Frost Bombs >:D

    CI Creeping Chill endgame setup for Ritual league

    I'm pretty set on playing Creeping Chill for Ritual League, leveling and early maps as Hybrid and then transition into CI later. I know the gist of that so I'm looking at the endgame for now. It has been quite a while since I played any CI build, so I'm not sure how those stack damage and defenses nowadays. I did play CI Vortex way back and I pretty much relied heavily on (old) Wicked Ward, Enfeeble, Chill/Freeze and faster ES recharge. That was before Cluster Jewels and such.

    Anyways, this is what I am working towards:

    The items are not cheap and not starter material, but this is basically a goalpost on a level I can achieve during the league. The defenses are once again fast ES recharge start (Apep's Supremacy, Watcher's Eye, ring craft, Essence Surge), Bleed/Poison/Chill/Freeze/Stun immunity, 2 Endurance charges, lots of chill effect and freezes, Arctic Armor, Enfeeble on Arcanist Brand, 3% ES per kill from Clusters, 16% ES regen from Clusters and Vile Bastion if killed recently, Frigid Wake and Malediction 10% Damage reduction each, the hit & run playstyle of the DoT build itself and a cushion of 10k ES. Notably I do not use Rime Gaze because of the reduced recharge rate and I don't plan on working it in unless there is a good offset for that.

    What can I optimize on the tree? Any affixes or skills I have overlooked? Anything I should or shouldn't have picked? Item and crafting options I should explore? I am looking forward to any input you have.

    I only look towards pushing more damage if it does not compromise the defenses I have built already. I want tankiness and room for error to account for the new endgame challenges. I am 100% set on playing it CI because I like the concept of Energy Shield and I want to feel some CI Vortex nostalgia. I will not play a Life-based version, even if it pumps out more damage or is tankier, just think of that as set in stone.

    Tech Demo: Impending Doom / Doom Blast Recursion

    Using Anomalous Impending Doom, low level HexTouch, and Window of Opportunity I have a curse that lasts .09 seconds by the tooltip. (.094 technically)

    With The Flow Untethered @ 20%, Doom Blast has a .13 second cooldown. (.125 technically)

    I'm using Void Batteries and Inner Conviction on Assassin to scale the damage of the hit, which is still pretty pitiful at T16 but with minimal effort it does work. I usually ran it with Storm Brand when clearing, Blight/Vaal Blight and Wither Totems on higher tier bosses.

    Either way, it was fun leveling with HoT as an autobomber and hilarious when I took it to the low duration model. Hopefully on Standard I'll take some time to flesh it out a bit and make it more of a real build with actual damage (maybe Poison instead?).

    If you die, the cycle continues as long as the boss doesn't phase.

    I used HexBlast in the video above more to show it was a single cast that initiates the Doom Blast cycle, but I'd strongly recommend Storm Brand / Blade Vortex / etc as the cycle is easily broken when mobs are one-shot or spread out.

    Suggest me a build please!

    I am interested in playing elementalist or inquisitor in trade league and I am not good at making builds(especially if the ascendancy has just been reworked). Looking for something tanky and powerfull for the maven, but mostly fun.

    I realize we haven't seen the gem changes yet,but I am interested in what builds you came up with.

    Hierophant: Freezing Pulse or Ice Spear?

    I'm never good at picking a league starter, so I just spun the wheel that MatLighty made which had a build for every ascendancy on it. I also know some of those builds are not great. I rolled Hierophant Ice Spear, and I presume I would go totems with it. When I thought of Hierophant totems, I also thought of freezing pulse totems, and was wanting confirmation on which would be better. With echoes and ritual league being 'sit in circle' playstyle, I feel like I won't be able to utilize the damage that ice spear gets after traveling because things will always be in close range, which is why I thought of changing the build I was given slightly to freezing pulse instead.

    Surviving a Berserker

    Thinking of trying out Berserker ascendency as league starter. I hope to gather some concepts and proven strats.

    With any skill gem, how would you design your build to have sufficient survivability but having enough damage to justify picking the berserker class?

    Viability of 3.13 Tri-Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist

    Hey guys,

    Wanted to ask smarter minds than mine about the viability of Tri-Herald BV Elementalist in 3.13 given the new Elementalist ascendancy tree.

    I'm not really sure the Shaper Of ______ skills are good enough for it, since every hit is already capable of chill, shock, and ignite. Unless you can get all three elements to be potentially the highest point of damage, I'm not sure it's worth it.

    Although Heart of Convergence seems better for the build now. Essentially always have 60% increased AOE and then 30% MORE elemental damage on a four second on/four second off rotation while bossing.

    Anyhow, thoughts?
