    Currently the way the player gets stunned in PoE is one of the most bizarre, archaic and non-intuitive ways i've ever seen. Not only does it not make combat responsive and reactive, but creates endless frustration.

    EVERYTHING that hits can stun you. ANY mob that hits can stun you. It doesn't matter what type of damage it is. It's not tied to a boss, or specific ability, or a specific modifier on a magic or rare mob. It offers no warning and offers no reactive response (Kiara's Determination exists i guess), but forces the player into proactive measures (be stun immune/resistant in some shape or form).

    The way it scales it also bizarre, punishing every build that doesn't stack life (hybrid, CI, low life ES, MOM, etc) into boring binary character requirement choices, (i go x build, i will need to get stun immunity). To add insult to injury, even very high hp characters can die to being stunned followed by big damage if they are not stun immune (we see this in HC rip clips).

    For any player that dares to move away from this binary requirement, or for any new player that simply doesn't know they need to take it, it makes combat feel awful because of nonresponsive skills due to stun duration.

    Low damage in PoE not only doesn't do much dmg, but also doesn't stun you.

    Big damage in PoE not only does massive damage to your health pool, but also stuns you.

    With this type of behavior, everything spikes from weak and nonthreatening to extremely dangerous, with not much in between.

    Weak abilities damage wise should stun you (because it exposes you by temporarily disabling your character) and strong abilities damage wise should not, because they already are very dangerous.

    Now imagine a new stun mechanic, that is no longer tied to a proportion of damage dealt but a specific function of certain abilities/affixes/bosses in the game. And with it, a series of reactive capabilities for the player (flask mods, abilities) that counteract it.

    For example, magic or rare mobs that use "Tectonic Assault", an ability that ALWAYS stuns, which the player knows it's coming and has tools at his disposal to deal with. Or a boss that uses a ground targeted or properly telegraphed projectile that YOU KNOW will stun, so either dodge it, have some reactive stun break, or be followed with a devastating next move that might end your character.

    Freeze is in a similar situation but at least it's mostly tied to cold damage, and has a proper reactive counter, flask removal.

    Since one of the goals of PoE is to have combat feel better, i feel this is the way to go.

    EDIT : Since i seemed to have attracted more neckbeards than Belle Delphine's Only Fans account, let me clarify some things :

    How you disagree with my post :

    -> Show how the current implementation of stun is a good mechanic that makes the game better and combat more interesting and enjoyable. You do that and my post is worthless.

    Do not tell me you can get stun immunity on gear or tree. That's not the god damn point.

    League after league, the same issue. You're searching for, say, T1 44+ ES and T1 13%+ maximum ES rings with something else, but your live search keeps pinging you for T3/T3 crap that got boosted into those ranges by catalysts. At the same time, you can't really just assume everyone with T1/T1 rings used catalysts on their rings and increase the minimums accordingly.

    There is no 'normalize quality' in place for jewellery, and honestly an easier solution would be to just add a checkbox 'ignore quality' that would just consider all items to not have any quality for the sake of search filters.

    //edit: massive thanks to several people who suggested using the weighting system in the comments below. I haven't thought of doing that with the actual quality pseudo-mod, this is genius. Still though, would be amazing if it could work similarly to armour quality normalization, like this (thanks to /u/RatchetMyPlank for the provided example).

    First map after the patch. Was happy to see Razor Dance offered for the challenge. Didn't expect to see the Trialmaster, much less these sexy NSFW rewards! Got Asked in global, was a T15 Map for those that were wondering.

    PSA - Razor Dance can get stuck in terrain and still do damage after ultimatum ends ..

    Implement a deterministic system, like completing 20 or 30 maxed waves you get to fight the Trialmaster, this would fix MANY issues with the league mechanic and the league itself

    So, now I'm running just t14-t16 maps and got to fight the Trialmaster 3 times (first time I died, second time the client crashed, third time I won and got a Cortex map for the 10th wave reward), I have came up with a fix for the league mechanic so the players would have a better chance to see the endgame of the league.

    Normally you only see the Trialmaster fight if the RNG gods bless you and I know that having him fought 3 times already is above average as I have a friend who has 34 challenges already and haven't seen him once! This is a joke.

    GGG should really implement a deterministic system like the conqueror one, so if you complete full trials on maps, even if the Trialmaster gives only 5-6-7 waves you got to fight him for the 20th or 30th trial. Like you have an 8-wave trial for the 18th, 9-wave trial for the 19th and the Trialmaster fight for the 20th. He would only show up from T14+ so you couldn't abuse it on low tier maps. This would be perfect, because you could gain rewards per map and you could also build onto something, like the Temple, like Betrayal Safehouse etc. Would make too much sense to me.

    Now, this would fix the issue with the Circle trials, because people wouldn't run them even if they buff the area, loot explosion reward etc. But THIS would encourage them to complete even the circle trials as they would know they have to complete those too to fight the Trialmaster. People would engage with every trial, better risk and reward.

    This would also solve the endgame scarcity issue with the league.

    Solve the reward system problem, because the scaling is beyond joke for the risk even in late t16 maps. You can farm Quarry now and average 170-200c per hour or less, but still like an ex. This system would encourage players to strengthen further their builds and fight the trials on t14-t16 maps where they should be honestly.

    This would solve the issue with the RNG gate Trialmaster conditional challenges, now you can't really get to know the fight and figure out those challenges, because you simply doesn't see the fight or engage with it, just once per god knows in how many maps.

    These fixes would make so much sense!

    Defeat the Trialmaster challenge/conditions

    Wanted to confirm that it is indeed possible to buy/sell the trialmaster challenges. After completing 36 challenges and not seeing the trialmaster fight encounter once i decided to go into tft to see if anyone is selling the kills/challenges. I then found out that no one was selling it because people think it is impossible to share the encounter with others. So i decided to spam channels looking for a trialmaster for 10 ex. One person dm'ed me that he has the spawn and i joined into his map. He went to the boss arena (i stayed inside of map) and when he killed the boss i got the challenge and also 2/4 conditions done. Just wanted to spread this info that it indeed works and you can sell for some nice currency or buy if you are unlucky with the rng hope this helps someone:)

    When i saw the trailer for 3.14 i thought they really missed out on pi number opportunity.

    But all we are doing now is running in CIRCLES, we just didn't see it.

    PSA: latest Windows update fixed texture streaming issues for me.

    This has been posted previously as a server side update but it got pushed out fully today.

    From the notes:

    A small subset of users have reported lower than expected performance in games after installing this update. Most users affected by this issue are running games full screen or borderless windowed modes and using two or more monitors.

    This might not work for everyone but it made a world of difference to me. No more (or very few) textures loading in, smooth framerate.

    here is the update and instructions to roll back in case it does not improve performance.

    My specs are: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, RX 570, 16GB RAM. Dual monitors - 75 and 144 hz.
