    I've been watching some deep delving guides that use icicle mine and wanted to try it out in maps to see how far you can push it. You can safely do T16 maps and ultimatums with this if you're looking for something different

    Examples

    Defenses

    There are 6 main components to defenses in this build:

    • Life - get as much as possible. Sabo + Anomalous Detonate mines gives you high % life recovery + regen so the higher base pool the better
    • Resists - 75% allres is a must. Chaos res is generally not necessary to cap as there aren't a ton of things in the game that do pure chaos but I maxed it to be safe.
    • Dodge - 75/75 with the help of Acrobatics, Atziri's step with "8% chance to Dodge Spell Hits if you've taken Spell Damage Recently", Raider and several abyss jewels with "2% chance to Dodge Attack and Spell Hits if you've been Hit Recently"
    • Blind - 25% chance to blind on hit from Sabo ascendency, 10% chance to trigger temporary disorienting display blind aura when using elemental skills
    • Damage taken as - dodge/ev builds can have big problems with getting oneshot by hits that pass ev/dodge. In my experience phys eHP is the biggest offender. A ton of bosses and mobs do phys damage and if you go to PoB->calcs and have phys "Maximum Hit Taken" below 10k you're going to be seeing this a lot. "Physical damage from hits taken as X.." was the cheapest stat I could find to address this. Taste of hate + Crystal Vault + Helmet mod give us 51% phys>cold which nearly doubles our phys eHP.
    • Chill/freeze - monsters with low action speed/frozen aren't nearly as scary

    optional

    • Vigilant strike - guaranteed 12s fortify is very strong. This is especially useful vs Ultimatums and some bosses.
    • Frost wall - good quality of life in Ultimatums to keep the mobs off of you. Raider gives you permanent phasing so frost wall and walk into the middle and start casting.
    • Wind dancer - still not sure how good this is. Recently is 4s which is quite a long time. This build has a lot of eHP vs all damage types so it's not critical but helps vs bosses which don't hit you very frequently

    Offenses

    These are the main components of your offensive scaling:

    • Gem level - 21 icicle mine, +2 from each dagger && +2 from chestplate corruption. +2 daggers can be expensive (2-6x) depending on when in the league you buy but +1 is super easy with the low ilvl trick and can get you very far. You can get a +4 chestplate corruption fairly cheaply as icicle mine counts as projectile,aura,trap or mine and aoe. The only real difficulty is the sockets + chestplate choice. I made a double corrupted crystal vault because of the phys>cold conversion but you can probably get by with a skin of the lords.
    • Crit - diamond flask + daggers + shadow tree + successive detonations give you a ton of crit
    • Mine damage - lots of good nodes in shadow tree + careful handling in clusters
    • Elemental pen - only really relevant vs bosses. Blanketed snow + frostbite + surprise sabotage in clusters. Sabo gives you pen too
    • Frostbite - easy to craft. Spam cold/caster harvests on a redeemer ring
    • Gloomfang - really nice for mapping. +1 chain is super strong especially because icicle mine fires absurd amounts of projectiles. 40% Projectile speed + 35% non-chaos as extra chaos are also perfect for us. Pandemonius is an expensive replacement and boosts boss dps significantly. I would spec into projectile speed & pierce though as this will significantly reduce your effective aoe.
    • Detonation sequence - mines and mine nodes scale heavily with mines in a detonation sequence. If you're not familiar with mines this means that you press detonate once and keep throwing mines until the detonation sequence stops. For each mine detonated in the sequence the next mine has additional effects. Icicle mines add an additional projectile for every 2 mines in the sequence. This means you can have 15-20 projectiles PER MINE as the sequence increases. There are two big problems with sequences - the "intended behaviour" is that you can replace the next mine to be detonated mid sequence and the sequence stops while you still have mines on the ground. The other problem is that you have to stand still to throw mines fast enough to really get a long sequence which is risky these days. Frost wall helps a lot with this but you still have to dodge volatiles and lightning clones.

    What to avoid when pushing levels

    After 95 you really just don't want to die at all or you lose a ton of progress. Here are some things I was avoiding to get from 96-97 deathless

    • dodge chance is unlucky - dodge is a major part of your tankiness. Maps with unlucky dodge will feel a lot more rippy
    • elemental weakness - if you don't have extra resistance over cap this can reduce your eHP vs ele hits to scary levels. Max tier ele weakness is -34% elemental resistance so if you have 109%+ of fire/cold/lightning you can ignore this.
    • Players cannot regenerate life or mana - we're not running a mana flask and rely on regen
    • Action Speed cannot be modified to below base value - no freeze or chill which fully mitigates one of your defenses
    • Sirus - you can do the fight deathless at lower levels but the fight is still pretty glitchy and I personally just don't like it.
    • Baran - huge phys damage hits. Too risky
    • The Eradicator - if you're not careful this is a scary fight when you have lots of map mods active

    Suggestions/criticism always welcome. This is far from the best or more efficient build but I wanted to try something different this league and it's been pretty fun :)

    Looking for Improvement for my Cyclone Slayer (SSF)

    Hi there,

    I got lucky with a 900dps Axe, so wanted to take advantage of it.

    However, after looking thru a few guides, I'm still having issue on survival and damage.

    Any advice is welcomed! A few notes about what I'm planning.

    - I know my rings, amulet and belt are shitty, I'm working on them. So does my Crit chance.

    - The next a few levels, I'm going to take Titanic Impact to help with my Crit further.

    - Porcupines can kill me instantly in T16...even with both of mine Granite and Basalt flasks are up.

    - I still haven't found a Lion's Roar yet : (

    - Only got one Awaken orb in 25 Sirus kills, not sure if I should go for an Explody chest or Tailwind/Elusive boot. Also, no Maven orbs yet...

    - I kind of hate the desyc with Leap Slam...So I'm trying to switching to Dash/Smoke mine style, I like it better.

    - No Stun Immune seems to be a pain, may be I should try reroll the suffix of my weapon (Reroll speed and hoping for crit chance with Aisling Slam)

    - I have a second large cluster (phys dmg) ready, and two Mediums( 1 Area with Towering Threat and 1 Channeling with precise focus and unwavering focus.)

    Undying Grappler spectre build idea

    I made one before and it was pretty fun but I'm not very experienced with summoner builds and it was a while ago so maybe someone else could do it better.

    Basically you scale all the regular minion damage stuff, and go necromantic aegis with Victarios Charity to generate charges, and spectre the Undying Grapplers from the sewers, the ones that flicker strike and Discharge. There's also a better version of them called Shavronne's Gemling.

    It was very fun seeing them flicker into a pack and blow it up, the cooldown on their discharge was the only real drawback but maybe there is some way to reduce it, second orders etc didn't exist when I made the build. Their health was a bit low too but I think I maybe used leech on them to help with that.

    Any other ideas you think might be useful for the build? I may give it another shot at some point for fun. Cluster jewels weren't a thing at the time either now that I think about it

    Speed build for 'running' content (heist, lab)

    Hey! I pretty much finished my BA character and wanted to do something with my currency and make another build and do some crafting, my goals would be- movement speed (just running, not relying on movement speed abilities)

    - passive damage ("autobomber" style / passive minion damage / anything that would not require casting)

    Preferably I'd like to make that build on my already leveled witch. Maybe some kind of necromancer (spectres? golems? other minions are not that fast I think)

    Could you give me some ideas that would fit that?

    Suggest me the best of the best of the cheap fast clear build

    Hey guys, I need build suggestions for the mindless fast map runs. I don't have much time to play leagues to develop geared characters. My goal is to set up some atlas and mindlessly run some regions on the highest tier possible retaining fast clear. I don't care if that's yellow maps, it should be fast and survive league mechanic.

    It should be

    1. simple to play without too much skill piano (mindless)
    2. fast clear
    3. almost or all map mods (alc and go)

    Casual dad- thinking about builds for next league (3.15)

    I am looking for build ideas so I can practice league start. I know it's far too early for a specific build. But I want to have a basic gist so I'm not wasting another league bouncing from character to character chasing currency strategies that I'm too late to maximize.

    I play softcore trade league. I only play 1-2 hours a day with an occasional binge for 6 hours. So I have several limitations to be efficient...

    1. I don't want to invest several days of play time into leveling multiple characters in a league

    2. Build must be league start friendly with a direct path to a currency a generating strategy on minimal investment i.e bosser on ssf day 1 gear.

    3. The character should have growth potential to be able to progress into end game. (End game means 100% deli, easy bossing, zoom-zoom mapping, confident heisting). I'm okay with having to change acendencies or modifying the build after a HH.

    4. Final build must be able to switch from zoom-zoom mapping to boss killing with minimum modification i.e swap Cyclone gem to Dual strike or swap to 2ndary weapon.

    Need help salvaging Zizaran's SRS build attempt with added Spectres

    I started following Zizaran build, using Kaom's Heart etc. until he made an update to his character, suggesting Spectres and Spider Aspect, mentioning he might explain everything in an update video which I doubt will happen as he died on the character and seems busy elsewhere.

    And I got stuck waiting, tried on my own by looking on poe.ninja, and failed.

    Don't get me wrong, I cleared the whole game for the first time. Uber Elder, Uber Atziri, rare Feared Maven events, etc. The character had (HAD, like, before I tried to tweak the items/passive tree) massive single target DPS and I tried to upgrade it with AoE so I could clear T16 Nem3 Valdo's Rest farming. It was also decently tanky, pushing 7.5k HP with some block, and while I thought the addition of ES would help, it doesn't. My ES is pretty much always at 0 despite the ES on block shield.

    Now what's happening, I keep dying to Ultimatums, I die quite often doing those Nem3 maps, sometimes even failing the Blight encounters and losing all portals before the map ends. I usually clear everything, about 8.5 times out of 10, but it's rather slow and I always die to Ultimatums. I thought more AoE damage would help but the Spectres honestly don't make much of a difference, when they're alive that is: they die after one or two maps. I used everything from Syndicate Operatives to Solar Guard, Flame Sentinels, but I can't make it work. My single target DPS also plummeted I feel, in map as well as against Sirus. I would like to know if it really dropped, or if it's because I'm doing much harder content.

    Now I do not know if I'm missing something obvious, or if the character is "fine" (I mean, I still clear Sirus 9, using all portals sure but a clear is a clear, right?) and that it's just me not being used to the content I'm doing, which is why everything feels so wrong.

    Could I get an overview? I'm at a loss. Thanks for the help!

    Ball Lightning Build Guidance

    Having problems with dying on t11+ maps on ultimatums and t14-15 maps instantly to some mobs.

    What should I possibly buy to help woth my survivability I'm using Arcane cloak every time it's up and throwing down Sigil Of Power in ultimatums.

    Build advice and crit/cluster question

    Ok, to start off, I know the build likely needs a lot more investment to be GG and melt content as it is a FastAF build. Mapping is plenty fast for me, but single target damage seems very lacking. I really like the playstyle, and I've sunk some currency into it already, but I have a few questions if anyone can shed some light.

    1) Where in the FastAF build do they manage to get so much crit? PoB shows more than what I can figure on gear and tree.

    COC ice spear question about cdr/aps

    as you can probably tell i have made quite a mess of it haha, but it was the best i could do, i dont really hope or expect to achieve near 100m dps, i only have around 20ex left and im not sure if i can be bothered to farm the required currency at this point, i am quite happy with the 50ishm dps i can do atm (according to pob but who knows), it feels a lot better than when i was at 10m dps.

    also, the 4 link in my boots was from another flicker build i was copying initially, i never really understood what purpose combat rush achieved there if anything, although im sure it does something ... i hope.

    if anyone has any comments to add i would appreciate it, mainly the first question about the gloves link, but also any observations you can make as to how i could achieve more dps without spending 100ex, maybe some slight modifications here or there ... i really don't know which is why im posting here.

    this was the first build i didnt follow a build guide for and instead tried to copy various different ones from poe ninja at various dps / budget levels, as you can see i ended up going a bit heavy on the uniques (noob much) but honestly having as little life as i do isnt really a complaint of mine right now, i have only tried shaper a8 on it and done it (not deathless ofc hehe), as for other bosses i have just straight up swapped character before going into the first portal.

    Budget HH Build

    First League. Goal was to acquier HH and as of today i finally did it after selling everything i had lol. Maybe that was a dumb idea but i really dont care i just wanted to get that freaking belt. i have left around 5-10 ex depends on what else i can sell. What build would you guys recommend me so i can farm up currency again with that budget? I got a lot of alts laying around lvl 85+ Raider, Occultist, Hiero, Gladiator, Elementalist, Assassin, Deadeye, Necro etc. but would not mind leveling up one last character to get the ultimate feeling of HH from level 40 on. Build should just make good use of the belt, maybe be a decent bosser with further investment, and be scaleable.

    Chaos autobomber vs regular ignite autobomber

    Recommend a build with Consecrated Path and 1H sword and Shield

I've been playing the league so far with a raider BB/BF but I am getting kind of bored of the playstile, so I was looking for a build with a consecrated path which is a skill a love , but the guides I found are not up to date or don't explain a lot of the early gearing to try it. Can you recommend a good one and give me a idea of the cost to make it? I am keen to hear about your options.

    Arc witch

    Guys, can I get some help? this is my build arc witch and I kinda got stuck at awakening 4... it's almost impossible for me to kill the bosses, ( i can do the maps just fine t14-16) but bosses take like 2-3 min to kill or are flat impossible, have I one something wrong ? or is this a natural limitation for my build and I need to start a new one?
