    SSFHC FR Totems Maven

    Posted: 23 Aug 2021 02:36 AM PDT

So, few weeks in, post-nerfs, what's the winning build re: ailments, flasks, tankiness, zoom?

    Posted: 23 Aug 2021 12:26 AM PDT

I league started FR totems which definitely had damage and it's definitely a good build, but being so squishy and susceptible drove me up a wall and flask uptime + ailments put me over the edge and I bailed from the league. But I've seen there have been some flask improvements, stuff added to the bench, etc. So now that the meta has sort of shaken out, what's the big winner that solves my issues? SST Raider/Deadeye/X? Some flavor of Pathfinder with the infinite auto flask setup?

Just gambled and got these gloves in SSF. Need recommendation for a build please. I'm thinking about some short of poison trap build maybe?

The weirdest thing I've ever come up with: Manastacking Smite using Indigon and Battlemages Cry

    Posted: 22 Aug 2021 09:39 PM PDT

Ever since the mention of Battlemages cry I've wanted to use it to power up an attack build. The idea turned out to be a convoluted mess of game mechanics that I cannot resume more than

"Manastacking MoM Indigon Lifetap Smite Ascendant using Battlemages Cry and Supreme Ego"

There are a lot of moving parts here, so lets go one by one.

There are currently two sources of big amounts of spell damage to "abuse" with Battlemages Cry: Str stacking using Iron Fortress and Repentance, and Indigon.

Battlemage's Cry converts spell damage into attak damage at 150% with 30 power. Using a medium cluster jewel (Cry Wolf) we can get a base of 10 power, guaranteed the 30 power with a single boss nearby. This conversion is a "Warcry buff effect" so the "25% increased Warcry buff effect" on Mutewind pennant gets that 150% to 185% spell to attack conversion. Either way it is a good idea to invest into some skill effect duration to guarantee 100% uptime.

Second element: Battlemage's cry spends the mana cost when you trigger the attack. We link a Storm Brand thanks to the long duration to offest the fact we only get 5 exerts every 8 seconds. Since 3.15 we can now link Archmage to a triggered Storm Brand, which allows us to ramp Indigon even harder. Also, this enables us to actually do damage with the Storm Brand itself

Third element: How do we attack then? Lifetap support on Smite converts the mana cost to life cost, and since Indigon specifies "increased Mana cost" the exponential mana cost does not apply to the Smite itself, allowing us to keep attacking and ramping the mana cost of Storm Brand automatically using Battlemages Cry. So we attack once, proc a costly Storm Brand and get a lot of free %damage as result.

Fourth element: Indigion provied %damage, now we need flat damage. Smite and Supreme Ego is a combo I've been wanting to use for a while now. Supreme Ego limits you to one permanent Aura (Wrath), but the flat lightning damage aura from Smite is *not* permanent, yet it receives the 50% more effect. The aura gives us 18-330 flat lightning at level 20. Since we are getting all that flat damage we just need a fast weapon, Fidelitas Spike is really cheap and fast.

Fifth element: Indigon, to enable this we need a lot of mana. So MoM with Cloak of Defiance is a good idea, might as well throw Arcane Cloak into the mix for more damage.

Sixth element: Ascendant to use the 8% MoM from ascendancy and perma flasks, which is great because we use a lof of uniques with no resists and I've resorted to a Bismuth flask to offset that lol.

The result: Up to 400-1,200 flat lightning damage and upwards of 1500% increased damage for Smite. Yet it still does shit damage. I truly believe there is a build here, but I am exhausted rn and see no way to actually fix it. Appreaciate the help in making my memes come true.

Looking for a good heist build and updated guide to heist strats

My aura stacking Carrion Golem build can't even do t10 maps.

    Posted: 23 Aug 2021 03:54 AM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/wLtbRzq5

Can't do red maps, zero dps, and zero survivability. sadge

To start off with this is my first necro build. So prolly the biggest concern is not knowing how necro builds scale. Been playing for years idk just wanted to try something new.

my specters are 2 frenzy charges and 1 power charge. My AG is just the super budget damage and ms buffs.

Yeah for an aura stacker I'm playing the squishiest build I've played all league. I saw the hype for this build last league and I wanted to give it a shot. Maybe there are some serious nerfs to this, but damn it's been a huge waste of currency so far. I get I'm only level 86 but all my builds have been sirus ready at this point.

Do I need more investment in aura effect jewels?

    More gem levels?

Is there any way to invest in more physical mitigation?

Need help progressing my SST gladiator

    Posted: 23 Aug 2021 04:16 AM PDT

To give you a bit of an idea of my newbieness and knowledge of the game, I started playing last league (ultimatum) so far I've put 600 hours+. I'd say I got to a good point for a first league (never killed Sirus but i got pretty damn close at AL8).

This league I decided to go for SST Gladiator which I just picked off the popular builds on poebuilds website. I love it, I just love how tanky it is with block and armour.

I'm at lvl 93 right now and I want to get to 95 before spending my money on clusters which seems to add a good 20% damage give or take. Now my main issue is damage kinda.

It's not unplayable or anything like that it's just a bit slow, I managed to kill AL5 sirus first try (died 3 times I think) but damage was definitely lacking in the bleed department I believe, in maps I feel like I should melt bosses faster than I currently do which takes at least 20-40 seconds to take down.

Here's my current PoB: https://pastebin.com/9chm730z if anyone's willing to spend their time to just glance over it and give me tips on what to change or what I'm doing wrong. Only thing I can think of is buying some awakened gems and start leveling them slowly but I can't imagine that giving me a 50% + damage boost. Currently I'm sitting at 300k ish damage on PoB and the reference PoB I'm following is at 900k.

Only other thing I can think of is buying a shield with more armour ? I just recently learned that SST scales off of the armour on the shield so should I go for a good shield first ? Thank you so sorry for the wall of text.

Need help with ice shot mana sustain and crit chance

    Posted: 23 Aug 2021 04:15 AM PDT

    Here's my POB https://pastebin.com/r3ZjddBb

Few issues that i need help with.

Mana sustain when using void fletcher. When I'm using void fletcher, for single target i cant sustain mana for it. I seem to spend alot of time walking around to regenerate mana and then i barrage a few times a rinse and reapeat. I'm wondering if there are any notables or gear changes i can make to help with this situation. I got a mana on hit quiver with crit chance on it and it seemed to improve the situation slightly but my dps feels significantly lower without the void shot.

Low crit chance. I'm already using the crit chance support but i barely make it to 50% with a diamond flask. Saving up to buy a watchers eye with both hatred crit and hatred base cold damage but its 100 ex right now. How much will that add to my crit chance. Crit chance is abit better with the crit quiver mentions earlier but i lose too much damage from void shot.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Rage Vortex CoC Inquisitor (Eye Of Winter)

    Posted: 23 Aug 2021 04:11 AM PDT

    https://pastebin.com/FnvB2Tf5

I am a casual, so don't expect anything crazy from this build (I'm just starting red maps and put about 2 exalts into the character).

Using Chains of Emancipation and Rotblood Promise with Temporal Chains (on left click) I can generate enough rage to create permanent Rage Vortexes. This attack skill is very decent for CoC - it hits very quick (getting up to 6 aps currently) and stays on a target for a few seconds, allowing for easy positioning of Hydrosphere and yourself (distancing from a boss) to get the most out of Eye of Winter. Pious Path allows for more than enough ES regen for unlimited CoC triggers.

This build uses the Snakepit ring for Chaining off of the Hydrosphere, and the Hydrosphere generates power charges (PCoH) and Hextouches Frostbite for more damage.

I use Skitterbots with Bonechill and War Banner's adrenaline for damage boosts and Precision, Beserk, and Frost Shield as utility. Shield Charge for Fortify and Frostblink for traversing gaps and instant movement.

For defense aside from the above layers I use Petrified Blood (With Pain Attunement) and the Inquisitor's Pious Path alongside EB (from Replica Soul Taker lol) and MoM. Glancing Blows gets the most out of my Light of Lunaris Shield.

This build can't do elemental reflect nor maps that curse you with Temporal Chains (wrecks your Rage generation). Clear is decent and bossing seems good so far.

Further things I can improve on are flasks (don't know what I am doing here), getting an EoW helm enchant, getting some better rares and possibly changing from Inevitable Judgement to Augury of Pentinence and then adding in EE (the Rage Vortex hits a lot and doesn't hit with any cold damage).

I'd love to hear some build improvement ideas from you all and I'll keep this updated showing the progress that I have made.

Help improve my alternative FR totem build.

    Posted: 23 Aug 2021 03:52 AM PDT

Hello I'm doing a power charge stacking FR crit based totem with double curse setup and basically ailment immune. Also MOM stacking is the main defense mechanism, (currently 68 can hit 71 with new helmet and good roll watcher eye). I could drop the ailment immunity for a lot more mana but I rather keep the immunity. Pantheon is chosen to reduce the possibility to get stun. Possible upgrade I think would be a helmet with +1 PC and nearby enemy chaos res (maybe?) especially with the extra projectile enchant. Anyway I'm open for discussion, I could also reroll self curse but I feel mine has higher survivability. POB

Casual player needing help with build

    Posted: 23 Aug 2021 03:17 AM PDT

I'm getting destroyed in white maps and I want to know which parts I should address first. I'm pretty sure I'm like 1k life from where I should be but I honestly don't know where to get it. I know my bow is terrible (working on that currently) but honestly I feel like I'm getting one shot way too often for that to matter.

How to get Frenzy Charges on hit

    Posted: 22 Aug 2021 08:48 PM PDT

Pretty much what the title says. I've got a Badge of the Brotherhood on a CI Assassin, but I'm trying to figure out less clunky ways of obtaining Frenzy Charges consistently than a Frenzy setup. On kill effects are ok for mapping but I'd like to have the Charges up for bosses too. I know of the Redeemer chest but they're really expensive/hard to roll yourself.

Or is it all too much effort and I should just go Inner Conviction to get the 3% more per power charge instead of Frenzy's 4% more.

Hi, I made a EH build using Quill Rain. The build is doing well but I don't know how to improve it. Do you have any ideas for upgrades ? I don't know if I need to use 2x combat focus jewels in POB it lowers my dps.

LF suggestions for a non-slam/cyclone str stacking fire conversion chieftain

    Posted: 22 Aug 2021 10:09 PM PDT

Played vaal GS last league so want to avoid slams if possible, cyclone seems the obvious other choice but wondering if people have other suggestions. Also, pillar of the caged god or Brutus lead sprinkler? I have a 6l pillar, just wondering if people have insight on which scales/feels better. Thanks

New find? Ritual mana recovery gloves work with Blood Magic and EB.

    Posted: 22 Aug 2021 06:42 AM PDT

Just tested. It gives you the life/es cost (and probably rage/soul costs) back as mana. Seems ripe for abuse on builds that can spend loads of life/es without issue.

So far I'm thinking CoC lifetap or EB with MoM + Agnostic on such a build. Maybe Pious Path Inquisitor.

Please recommend me an absurdly tanky build for challenge completion.

    Posted: 22 Aug 2021 10:53 AM PDT

I'm in the market to play a new build. Spent the entire league (started late) playing Herald of Thunder autobomber and I'm in need of something substantially more tanky to complete some of these challenges.

I'm looking for something stupid tanky. Either life sustain or energy shield + CI, whatever. I just want it to be as forgiving as possible whenever I take it out to do any challenge. zDPS is fine, but if the build could also double as a bossing character then that would be even better.

If there's some way to get curse immunity, ailment immunity, or at least a setup to mitigate them, it would also be super helpful.

I don't have a budget in mind. I'm sitting on roughly 22ex in liquid currency, but I am also open to something more budget friendly.

Isn't this inefficient? A lot of builds seem to skimp on the scion life wheel but path off to life wheels.
