    Greatest Blight Builds

    Posted: 13 Oct 2021 05:23 AM PDT

Since next league is looking interesting for Blight fans (such as myself) I was wondering what you guys think are the all-time best Blight builds of the last 2-3 leagues and what we think about dedicated Blight builds going forward.

Any build advice on my summoner? I have hit a wall at tier 11+ maps

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 11:58 PM PDT

    My char Almalet: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/loopuleasa/characters

I have anima stones, 5 golems, maxed res, picked up a lot of +minion life and damage. I do some chaos damage on the side and my minions are augmented with more chaos damage.

As aura I run only haste and dread banner.

I seem to be lacking boss damage late game, and survivability against hard hitters.

    EDIT:

My forum profile name is LightDeath apparently

    Battlemage's Cry interaction

    Posted: 13 Oct 2021 04:46 AM PDT

So I noticed and then tested and confirmed that Battlemage's Cry's "modifiers to spell damage apply to attack damage at 150% of its value" applies to any and all melee skills, not only those that can be exerted. The exerted part is only for triggering linked spells.

And with up to 80% increased effect of warcry buffs, 30% from tree, 25% from Al Dhih, 25% from Mutewind Pennant, it turns the "at 150% of it's effect" into "270% of it's effect".

Which turn Indigon's "25% increased spell damage per 200 mana spend recently" into "25% increased spell damage and 67.5% increased attack damage per 200 mana spend recently".

With lvl 21 Arcane Cloak at 4k mana that's already 877.5% increased attack damage for any melee skill.

And just for completion, 30% inc warcry buff effect makes Indigon's max 3900% and with either Al Dhih or Mutewind Pennant alongside tree it's 4650%.

Now I'm thinking of using this for the Indigon Hierophant CoC or maybe even a Deadeye build, just for the laughs.

Only thing is getting Call to Arms, but for Deadeye I can just go Skin of the Lords I guess. And I guess infinite warcry power isn't really neccessary, the minimum 10 power cluster notable will be enough.

And the BMC trigger won't go to wase completely, it can simply be linked to Leap Slam for example, alongside some utility spells.

Only thing is mana sustain. Some mana on hit and kill and mana leech will surely help, but in the case of Cyclone I guess The Soul will have to do.

    And then I also thought of some perma-zerking fulcrum-self-chill blitz-charges ele-overload coc/cwc super-charged-lightning-dmg - zerker. That's mouthful.

    Thoughts?

EDIT: But who cares about Indigon, are there any other reliable, large sources of spell damage? I don't play casters very often, so I don't know a lot about sources of spell damage. But at this point it also just becomes a Crown of Eyes build with a free helmet slot. Which is best filled with Indigon I guess, soo...

Ways to get physical damage reduction on a witch?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 07:55 PM PDT

I'm currently theorycrafting an ignite build that utilizes the new lesser version of Versatile Combatant with staves to get about 50/40 Block/Spell Block, as well as using Divine Flesh to get massive amounts of chaos and elemental mitigation. The block should definitely help a lot from sustained small hits of physical damage, the only issue is physical 1 shots considering my relatively small lifepool (4.7k).

Outside of Brass Dome or Craiceann's Carapace which would be nearly impossible to color for my build (I guess going Harvest white sockets or buying an all white socket one is an option), what are some solid options for physical mitigation that don't require a ton of investment? (I'm already stretched pretty thin getting block, damage, and going Divine Flesh). Sustain might also be an issue considering you can't leech from DoTs, making life flasks basically my only sustain.

It's time to theory craft my own build?

    Posted: 13 Oct 2021 01:52 AM PDT

I've been following guides since Abyss, playing every single league with guides from the forum.

I did enjoy it almost for every build, but last leagues it felt boring to be reliant on a post, which could or not be updated for next league.

So, the title, having some knowledge about the game and time to craft my own build, should I do it? It would be more "efficient" if I invest some time on it? I guess next question it's personal but, would it be more fun to play with MY build?

How does Hypothermia increase my damage if I'm dealing pure lightning damage?

    Posted: 13 Oct 2021 05:18 AM PDT

I'm player an Accuracy Stacking jugg with Lightning Strike, when I check PoB on which supports to use one of the top results is Hypothermia Supprt, I don't really get that should increase my DPS when I'm dealing 0 cold damage. My guess would be a small added damage affix on an Item that has a small chance to chill and therefore will proc Hypothermia but I'm not quite sure.

Calling all Minion Experts! 3.16 Scourge League discussion...

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 03:14 PM PDT

Let's open some dialogue in reference to where Minion builds stand with the upcoming 3.16 Scourge league. Nothing about nerfs/buffs, as we don't know what they are yet, but mainly in regards to the loss of EE as an effective dps increase.

How do you all feel about standard elemental damage based minion builds going into 3.16? Spectres? Minion Army League Starter?

    3.16 Potential Boss Killers

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 12:33 PM PDT

So, I haven't played the game in a few leagues and I'm a bit out of the loop on changes the last few patches. I'm looking to start the league with a boss killer. The only thing I don't want to play is a miner. Just not a fan of the playstyle. Everything else I am cool with - traps, minions, melee, spells, bow, whatever. Have any of the new skills released since 3.13 turned into good boss killers? I don't really care much at all about clear, I'm generally able to make adjustments if the clear is terrible, just looking to blow up the end game bosses as fast as possible on a league start type budget. While I completely understand that patch notes can change any potential answers, I'm more so just looking for any builds that have emerged over the past few leagues & maybe what some of you all may be eyeing to build for high single target damage.

    Any suggestions?

Ways to get flat dmg to spells

    Posted: 13 Oct 2021 12:59 AM PDT

So while throwing away a failed build idea in act 8 i noticed that wave of conviction, which i used unlinked just for exposure, did more damage then my 4 link arc. I slapped it in a 4 link with added cold, added lightning and trinity and it just does way too much damage and i only have a vague idea about why.

I was stacking heralds for my original idea, ice, fire, lightning and purity. All of these benefit WoC since it also has a phys side but purity is arguably not worth the reservation from what i can tell.

So basically i have many sources of flat ele damage and it seems to work really well with WoC so i was wondering where else i could get some.

Innervate and smite are on my radar and ofc just getting x added dmg on gear.

Also is it ever worth to go multiple elements and just pick up generic elemental nodes on skilltree over specializing in one element?

can Hydrosphere/Focused Ballista shotgunning carry an MF meme build?

    Posted: 13 Oct 2021 04:40 AM PDT

super super rough PoB (especially considering changes coming): https://pastebin.com/0JRFJ70F

3.16 i'm gonna be making an MFinder just for the fun of it and so am having to build around all of the uniques. it's pretty restricting. there's almost no flat life or resistances on the gear (didn't want to put in some PoB ventors) and so am building around that with a super passive playstyle (bow and ballistas) and lots of jewels on the tree. but also damage itself has been a question for me, especially as i don't really trust my capacity to get an honest readout from PoB with all the moving parts involved.

to work around the damage i'm using ele hit to get lots of flat damage, using an actual bow in place of windripper for more %increased damage, and then pretty much just relying on the sheer amount of projectiles and chaining happening to fill in the gaps.

and that's my question, how much does this fill in the gap? i'm planning just on farming maps with this build and having fun and so generally there's no real pressure on performance. but i'm more than a little optimistic that the HS/FB interaction is broken enough that it will exceed expectations.

would love any feedback or experience people have with this mechanic

shrapnel ballista + G volley or gmp?

    Posted: 13 Oct 2021 12:50 AM PDT

as title says, which is better, and do they both do the same thing on shrapnel ballistas? I mean sure, i can look, but that doesn't tell me shit because it's just animations on the screen. and what i've learned from playing poe is that you cannot trust what the animation is telling you.

would greater volley still shotgun just as well as gmp?

    Lightning Tendrils, please advise

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 07:39 PM PDT

    Hi there,

I decided to try out LT to see if I might like to league start with it, and I actually enjoyed the playstyle I created quite a bit. Running the campaign was a breeze thanks to snagging 2 holy flame totems from heirophant as my first ascendancy choice. The next ascendancy choice was for minimum 4 power/endurance charges. I felt pretty tanky sporting all Armor/Energy Shield gear sitting at around 45 phys dmg reduction (50% with Defiance Banner). Was able to kill Kitava act 10 deathless for the first time.

Anyhow, I wanted to ask for build advice here because I'm not sure what would be the wisest way to continue building my passive tree. I have another large cluster jewel which I'm tempted to start filling, because it has Sadist & Doryani's Lesson as notables. Since I'm chilling, shocking & igniting that should be a good node for me (Sadist). Doryani's I think would be nice too, especially if I were to grab Arcane Surge & the Brand nodes from Heiro, instead of getting the node beyond Arcane Surge.

Anyhow, I have a couple of additional questions for those of you reading, and thanks :)

    1. Wintertide brand.. Should I be running with this or is there a better option for applying chill? I've been using it since lvl 12, and it is nice to attach 2 of them onto a boss.. It seems to do decently well, but it is hard to tell in PoB. Also, is Swiftbrand a good choice for support? I was watching my buffs and it seemed like my brands were just disappearing almost instantly. (Swiftbrand seems terrible after taking a better look.. I want more duration if anything)
    2. The Arcane Surge node in Hiero says that it will proc when my totems or I hit an enemy. I am assuming that it would still be a good choice to use Arcane Surge as a support gem, because wouldn't they both add More damage? Furthermore, the Arcane Surge nodes on the passive tree state that they'd boost DMG if I spend an amount of mana.. I feel like I don't go through mana fast enough to pick those nodes up, but I am not sure.

Thanks very much, in advance, for any advice. This will probably be my league starter, though I guess we are all waiting to see the new tree revealed. TY again, bye!

EDIT: I just read the notes about how EE is being moved to the ranger section of the tree, and I feel like this may ruin my build here, lol. I am not sure...

Strength Stacking Totems with Iron Will?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 03:37 PM PDT

I saw that Iron Will is now going to be a keystone, and something devious in me clicked. I have no idea if this would be good, I have no idea how I would begin to plan it so I'm hoping somebody 100x smarter than me can assist or defer this idea.

So you play chieftan, totems with a fire spell (maybe flameblast??) you strength stack, take all the fire nodes and that's about as far as I've gotten...

Anybody have an ideas, suggestions or can somebody correct me if this would be GOD AWFUL.
