Posted: 03 Nov 2021 05:17 PM PDT I made this post yesterday about a build I'm playing that uses Strength of Blood, Immortal Ambition, and instant leech. In the video, I point out an unexpected interaction between Immortal Ambition and instant leech where instant leech applies to energy shield anytime unreserved life is filled, even if not actually on full life. Mark has commented on the post here confirming that this instant ES leech is a bug and should only work when actually on full life. I had a number of people say they wanted to play variants of this build, so I figured I'd let everyone know. I don't know when they plan to fix it, but given that it's technically an exploit, it could be any time. Let me just say that, even if this is fixed mid-league, it does not break the build. As I said in the other thread, I was fully prepared to play this build before I knew about this interaction, expecting it to be consistent with the in-game description. If it does get fixed, all that really changes is that I don't use a "life as extra ES" craft on my body armour. I'd probably just swap it to an "8% max life" craft and take the small hit to my HP. The core mechanics of the build are Strength of Blood and instant leech. ES scaling is an unexpected bonus, not a focal point. [link] [comments]
No builds feel good anymore.. What should I do? Posted: 03 Nov 2021 09:15 PM PDT This league has so far been simultaneously the most interesting and the most frustrating I've played in a while. I cannot find a build that feels good to play. Monsters feel insanely overpowered (like lightning bosses through the campaign are now a challenge - even with res cap and above average life pool). I've made a Poison Concoction Raider, a Ice Shot Deadeye, a Spectre Necromancer, an Earthshatter Berserker, a Brand Inquisitor and a CoC Ice Nova Assassin. None of those builds felt anything but squishy, low dps, slow and just frustrating to play. This is the first league in 4000+ hours that I've been this slow to reach maps and I don't think I have it in me to keep playing to even complete the challenges. I need some help. I need a build that can get me going which isn't completely destroyed with the new skill tree. My previous favorite builds were both bow builds (Burning Arrow Elementalist and Ice Shot Deadeye), but for some reason now requires INSANE investment for even reach basic levels of damage. Please - I need help! I want to play the game, but right now I can't for the life of me find the drive to keep playing.. :( EDIT: Thanks a lot for all the responses and quality effort you all put into helping me. I appreciate it - even the meaner comments. It's a common criticism that I make too many characters, and to that I can only say that if something doesn't feel good playing, it doesn't really matter if the build gets good at 20+ ex investment or not. I've cobbled together some gear and will gradually respec my Raider into Toxic Rain and just bite the bullet for yet another league with that as my league starter. Thanks again for your time and effort! [link] [comments]

[3.16] Supreme Ego Boneshatter Champion, surprisingly good dps for a build this tanky. Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:11 AM PDT This my 2nd build after my VD/DD league starter. I wasn't too happy with the performance on that build especially since saved spectres had issues in hideout at league launch so I got to theorycrafting my next build. POB:https://pastebin.com/HEYeifKs Showcase + Guide:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqk8_oS88X0&ab_channel=Uberjager What is Boneshatter? It's a strike skill that has inbuilt flat physical, and scales with attack speed in the form of trauma stacking. As you attack, you build up trauma stacks which give you a more damage multiplier at a cost of taking more physical damage as hits per trauma stack each time you attack. If you stun a enemy a damaging AOE pulse is created that hits nearby enemies. This AOE is dependent on the stun duration. Why Boneshatter and why on Champion? Boneshatter has normally been a Juggernaut skill in 3.15 as Juggernaut is able to scale physical damage reduction through endurance charges and has a physical damage mitigated recovery mechanic that synergizes well with Petrified Blood. This mitigation is not only to deal with incoming physical damage from enemies but also the physical damage from trauma stacks. What changed this league was two things:
Why March of the Legion and Supreme Ego? Being able to use both together on this build enables you to stack up to 50-60k armor and 20-30k evasion with very little investment. This helps you deal with incoming physical damage and provides you a soak layer through Vaal Molten Shell + Vaal Molten Shell. This mechanic has been predominantly abused in physical to cold conversion builds where scaling Hatred Aura is extremely effective. This more aura effect also gigaboosts precision as well as Dread banner giving easy access to max impales without having to rely on the impale gem as well as accuracy and crit chance. Supreme Ego is by no means 100% required. I've been considering dropping it to add more auras as well as remove reliance on my extremely rare chest roll. How's the clear? With decent attack speed from Adrenaline as well as Onslaught and +2 to strike targets from glove and Tribal Fury you get to hit multiple targets pretty quickly meaning you one or two shot packs in T14-16 maps. Crit mastery's Stuns from Critical Strikes have 100% increased Duration grants bigger AOE pulses and Strike mastery's Strike Skills which target additional Enemies can do so from 30% further away helps not only with targeting but selecting further away targets, granting a bigger area of effect and overlap. Why strength stacking? As Boneshatter at 21 gives a relatively good amount of flat physical, the Pillar of the Caged God + Bloodthirst tech works extremely well with it. Having loads of life helps you as well since you're already stacking so much armor and evasion. Conclusion All in all, this build has been extremely enjoyable. Able to handle most of the content thrown at it, does bosses very well (have done Aul at 183 and Sirus A8) and doesn't really take much effort to setup up or get started. Let me know if you've got any questions. Hope you enjoyed this guide! [link] [comments]
I don't think I understand how damage works in this game Posted: 03 Nov 2021 11:23 PM PDT So... I've had a few builds that felt good dps-wise, not that I've gotten far into endgame; though that's been more due to a short attention span than that I ran into particularly great challenges - somehow I just haven't found maps to be exciting yet despite people telling me they are - probably another thing I just don't understand yet. I'm sure challenges were just around the corner, though, because I've recently started looking at Path of Building and the kind of damage other peoples' builds output, and I find myself thinking I'm doing something terribly wrong. Somewhere, these guys are finding millions or tens of millions of dps. Meanwhile, I just mocked up a build tonight to evaluate the viability of an idea, and Path of Building is telling me it does a monstrous 14,320.6 damage. Not Sirus damage, either, just damage to trash. If anyone's willing to look this over a little bit and help me understand where the missing millions of dps are, I'd really appreciate it, because this keeps happening as I run different ideas past this program and I'd like to be able to make something that isn't orders of magnitude worse than a good build. I'm not asking for anyone to go over this with incredible amounts of detail, I know that's a lot of work; I just figure there must be some seriously major mistakes being made for the damage to be this low, which might just jump out at people that know what they're doing. Anyway, I'll just leave this here for you guys to laugh at. The basic premise is to take advantage of Indigon alongside Battlemage's Cry, then use mana flasks, attack mana leech and Thief's Torment to enable sustaining Indigon's buff with Lancing Steel, which has a much lower cost than the spells and should stay at a sustainable mana cost. On entering combat: Use Arcane Cloak, use a mana flask and use Stormbind to consume enough mana that Stormbind can't cast anymore. Should be able to hit at least around 2k, maybe more, I think. Then use Battlemage's Cry to make Indigon's spell damage bonus apply to attacks, and attack with Lancing Steel until everything's dead. Of course, that last step isn't going to work with <15k dps. The funny thing is, I'm worrying about the dps, when I'm not even sure about the survivability; I have a sneaking suspicion more evasion and suppression will be needed, at a minimum. It's just easier though to compare dps numbers than survivability, so I figured I'd start with the area my builds are clearly, provably, 100s of times worse than others. Thanks for any advice you guys have; I'm going to get some sleep, but I'll check this post when I wake up. [link] [comments]
TR Raider - i need advice. what's next? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 04:05 AM PDT I've finally crafted empowered +3 bow, cool, now i have like 137k total DoT DPS according to my POB, right now my empowered is still level 2 and i'm only level 93 but it's a matter of time i think. so what's next? at this point i'm kinda lost with what my next upgrade will be like so i need some help from you guys. Does this replace withering support on ballista totems? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 04:28 AM PDT

Posted: 03 Nov 2021 02:58 PM PDT So basically, i league started with phys trap sabo and well, it does a lot and the clear is rather bad. I'd like to play some other build, but as i run maps, i basically get as much currency as what i spend on the maps themselves. So, where can I get some easy currency? I've sold one or two harvest crafts on discord, so i guess harvest isn't bad at all, and I've heard that heist is pretty good too. Anyone could teach me how these methods work, so i can get some more currency and eventually run the build i want to run, an int stacker. [link] [comments]

Is there a way to play Ice Spear CoC without Enduring Mana Flask? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 05:45 AM PDT I'm craving for some good old CoC action, haven't played it since mana changes. Builds - eQuaraCoccultist - poe.ninja this person seems to have skipped this entirely but I couldn't figure out why. Does somehow skipping the Enduring Mana Flask comes at a great cost of defenses or offenses? How does it play out? [link] [comments]

So, any crazy/immortal builds in 3.16 yet? Posted: 03 Nov 2021 08:20 PM PDT I don't mean league starters. I mean high investment min-max builds that are blatantly op. I.e. I've played Cold BV Flask finder in 3.13 which was close to immortal. Anything like that in this league? I'd expect some stuff to come up with the passive tree rework. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:40 AM PDT Hi guys! I started with the endless heist thing on my Occultist, and after that switched over to my mapper. What would a good bosser be to make out of my witch? Can respec it with no problems. How would a minion build be for a boss killer? :) [link] [comments]
[Showcase] Anomalous Inferneal Blow with Strike Range feels Great Posted: 04 Nov 2021 12:37 AM PDT Casual here I leaguestarted with infernal blow (no experience with melee leaguestart) 5/10 Selfmade Build imo 9/10 https://pastebin.com/RJK8DVKS warning, no minmaxing done yet Now I heve done all watchstones and scourgin maps while farming logboocks as atlas strategy T13 Map for general showcase (nothing to brag about) https://youtu.be/CQhW8pHZWaU [link] [comments]
ways to grant minion 100% chance to poison? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 06:27 AM PDT If I am not able to wear a grasping mail, is United in Dream + Chance to Poison Support the only way to give minions 100% chance to poison? The support seems a bit underwhelming, I wonder if there's any other ways to do it. [link] [comments]
Ice Crash Battlemage Inquisitor - where do I go now? (SSF) Posted: 04 Nov 2021 06:25 AM PDT Here's my current build: A level 75 Inquisitor using Ice Crash and Battlemage's Cry to use Firestorm. This is in SSF. Any suggestions on where do I go from now? Both in regards to the passive tree and about gear. (I would like to get a 5 link for the mace and etc, but SSF and I'm extremely poor - I think I have around 5 Orbs of Fusing.) [link] [comments]
I've invested around 20 ex in my build and i keep dying. Can someone take a look at my pob? (Necro) Posted: 04 Nov 2021 06:23 AM PDT I started this league with a slam zerker, 4ex investment and farmed red maps until i had enough to make a necromancer. At first i followed kays minion army and at 85 i transitioned to carrion golems. The damage is fine but i keep getting killed over and over to the point where i can't progress. I even tried adding determination aura in my build, removed the mana flask for one more utility and i still keep dying. Is there something i'm missing? Edit: this is only my second league, 3rd character. I'm not sure what to look at specifically to make my build survive a bit longer. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Nov 2021 05:58 AM PDT I'm using Dratnos poison spectral helix and I'm really enjoying it. He plays SSF though and I am not. What items should I look for to really push it higher? I want to be able to solo Sirus. Shaper and Uber Atziri [link] [comments]
Asking for advice to improve DPS on my build Posted: 04 Nov 2021 05:28 AM PDT Hi! I am playing a strength stacking Juggernaut who uses Shaper's Touch and Geofri's Sanctuary to scale ES to empower Energy Blade. The skill I chose is Spectral Helix. Overall, the char is very tanky, I face tank most of the content and, although my dps is bad, bosses just end up dying because they usually can't kill me. But my main problem is, as I said, my damage. Yesterday I had to skip a Shaper because Maven was healing him more than I was damaging him. Also the trouble I have with Spectral Helix is that it needs some time to ramp up (blades start to fly all over the place), and that's a problem with bosses that move a lot (I also need a lot of time to kill Sirus AW8). Do you have any idea on what can I change or improve to ramp up my DPS seriously? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
