    Blade vortex league starter

    Posted: 22 Jan 2019 02:39 AM PST

Late to start the league and am looking for a league starter blade vortex.

Besides mathil's blade vortex chieftain and elementalist, are there any other recommendations?

Looking for something that can map well, has good sustain, tanky and has good damage that can scale well. Would like to be able to do Uber elder eventually

Why do trappers not get any skill effect duration or/and Cast speed? I am yet to see one.

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 11:52 PM PST

Is it feasible at all to stack skill duration or/and cast speed as a trapper for the Flamethrower/Seismic/Lightning Spire trap combo? They all scale with the two modifiers quite well, yet I never saw one trapper even pick up one duration cluster, much less two and no cast speed clusters pretty much ever.

    Opinions?

New'ish. Just reached maps. What now?

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 01:11 PM PST

As stated above, i just reached maps. Starting to do my atlas map constellation building?

What do i do from here about gear? it seems to stop at 68/70? Is there some path i should be taking? One of those 'i wish i knew this before i started mapping' kinda things?

    Cwdt question

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 09:36 PM PST

Can you have 2 cwdt gems in your build? Guide builder describes this below.

I'm going to list all the defensive layers here that keep you alive

First 'Cast when Damage Taken' setup: Level 2 CwDT Level 8 Spirit Offering

This triggers whenever you take 583 damage, means you will recover energy shield every time Spirit Offering is cast and gain extra elemental resistances, the most important defensive layer of the build. You will rarely even drop down to your Life pool while standing right inside every mob.

Second 'Cast when Damage Taken' setup: Level 1 CwDT Level 1 Desecrate Level 1 Convocation (20% Quality) Level 1 Immortal Call

Looking for a good T16 UGS farmer

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 12:02 PM PST

Hi all, I'm looking for a build to farm elder UGS fairly quickly and reliably. I am willing to sacrifice a little bit of clearspeed/damage for survivability.

I have a ~30 ex budget to work with, and I am open to all playstyles. It would also be great if I could use a herald of ice/ash, since I really like the mtx for them. Thanks

    Making use of Dreadsurge?

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 02:40 PM PST

Has anyone come up with a decent build involving Dreadsurge? I've been racking my brains for the last couple of days to think of one - looking at past posts on both this sub and the main sub, I haven't seen much.

Some of the limitations include: * The ignore fire resistance only occurs when you are ignited - for this to occur reliably you need an additional two uniques, one being the Eye of Innocence amulet, and either Moku's Embrace or Sunspite. That's already 3 slots for uniques, two of which (amulet, ring/boots) which could otherwise be used for rares with life, etc. * Since the rework of ailments, you can no longer self ignite using Rat Cage shenanigans. Even then, you're still sacrificing slots to uniques. * While the fire damage on the axe is reasonable, because it is flat elemental it is difficult to scale with weapon nodes. You could use the Fireborn jewel I suppose, although this will be limited. There's a lot of elemental damage at the top of the tree, although this is not always convenient to attack builds. Then some of the best nodes (Heart of Flame, Lava Lash) also include fire pen, which is wasted when you ignore resistance. * You could scale weapon damage with strength, Repentance and Crown of Eyes, but then you're adding to an already long list of uniques, and I'm not sure you'd get a lot of added value in attack strength. * Since the last patch, we can no longer just use the weapon as a stat-stick for attack builds. This together with some of the previous points suggests it is best used as a caster weapon. However, this brings me to my next point... * For a build focussing around fire damage, you're probably best off investing in penetration rather than ignoring fire resistance. While it might cost you an extra gem slot in fire penetration, you'll probably do more damage on average, and you don't have to worry about using so many uniques to trigger self ignite.

What are the main advantages? * well, utilising the eye of innocence means you'll be igniting a lot so you can take full advantage of the big flat damage of Immolate support gem. * you get some resistance and movement speed on your weapon slot, which is somewhat rare. * it has interesting possibilities for EE. For example, Incinerate - Cast on Channeling - Ice Nova - Immolate. The frequent and pure fire hits coming from Incinerate would mean the cold damage from the triggered Ice Nova would always see reduced cold resistance while all fire damage (including the Immolate damage added to both Incinerate and Ice Nova) would ignore the usual drawback of EE.

    Anyone have further thoughts?

    Cheers

What are your delve/fossil farming builds? Focused on movement speed.

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 05:51 PM PST

I got a lvl 90 pathfinder that is set up with many of the basic items needed now. I am not gonna spend big to make it work just to squeeze extra movement speed out of something already insanely fast.

I am curious though what damage ability seems to be most efficient if the character wants to double down as a syndicate farmer in lower level zones.

Assuming you have a 5 link Queen of the Forest what would you go for? A bow based setup?

I find Rain of Arrows strong since the vaal aspect of it makes it good for when stronger mobs show up.

I just don't know what bow and quiver gives me the most damage from a damage starved passive tree, since so much goes into the movement speed... is it just The Tempest and stack some sweet lightning damage? I am partly following SlipperyJims video currently, just not fan of the elemental hit part of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJnhFRyMFVg&t=79s

Show me your delve farmers boys! :)

Thank you, community, and a noob, subjective question

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 01:55 PM PST

    Hello!

I´m an extremely new player to the game. I have just cleared Act 3 with my first character. I know there are many, many things ahead that I only read here and I await eagerly the chance to participate. I love the community around the game, with a lot of questions and polite answers, and SO MUCH effort to offer guides and builds to other players. Thank you all for that!

The question is a matter of opinion, mostly. I have been following a beginner friendly build and it´s working well for me. However it´s a little boring to only "do as told" when leveling up. It has served me well as contact to the game and learn the very basics, but I´m wondering about starting a fresh build by myself with another character and different playstyle. Do you recommend finishing the story before doing this? I know I´m going to play the same story many times, so that´s not an issue.

    Anyway, thanks again, you all!

    Help with Storm Brand Improvement

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 12:10 PM PST

So I want some help taking my storm brand character to the next level. I don't really know what to improve next, where I should be pointing my currency (I have around 7ex liquid right now). I'd really appreciate any advice you sages over here on poebuilds can lend to me. I think my survivability is pretty great right now, I'm mostly interested in improving my build through more damage, which is getting hard for me to find sources of. Thanks!

    Help building blade flurry build

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 11:25 AM PST

Hi, I wanted to make a super leech blade flurry build. This is what I ended up with but wanted some feedback as I am still bad at making builds. I haven't added all items yet or balanced resists or anything like that - just put some placeholder gear right now. I am not sure if I want to do ascendant or something else. I had to put on ele equilibrium to simulate Malachi's artifice but its reduced effect so damage is slightly off.

Just realized that blood seeker is physical damage leech so maybe not good weapon choice. https://pastebin.com/B2kwq4gQ

looking for the most indestructible build

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 09:39 AM PST

long story short i got really lucky and got filthy rich (55 ex+/-), and now i am looking for a build that would allow me to do the really high content uberelder/shaper and stuff( even though i am mechanically very much inept) and maybe even go for 36 challenges.

preferred a templar or marauder (bc i got those at lvl 90+) but if there is something else out there i am willing to make something new. i got quite some experience in the game, i am just bad in it ;-)

First selfmade build: Double Dagger Viper Strike Ailment

    Posted: 21 Jan 2019 07:50 AM PST

Hey everyone, so far I only played Meta-Builds. They are great, but I want to create a build for myself. I don´t care if it is not as fast as a meta-build, if my survivability is not as high as at another build and I definetly won't kill UElder with it. At least I am pretty sure about that.

What I want to achive is to learn the mechanics of the game and perhaps, if I play the build, get a feeling of accomplishment that I did it more or less by myself.

This is my Idea: Build on POE-Planner sorry, I don't have access to PoB on work. ;-)

The aim of the build is to cut through the mobs like a Derwish and to apply as much poison as possible between them. I always loved DOTs and I hope this could work.

    What I am unsure about:

    • Is my Defense good enough? I planned to have a mix of Life and Evasion. The Life-Reg through Bimo's should help to stay alive. Additionally I added Evasion as a second layer. Although adding Iron Reflexes could be an option, since my build is running down there. Would that be helpful or should I stay in Evasion?

    • I could change the Ascendancy from Pathfinder to Trickster. That would enable more Damage with DoTs but I guess my defense would be better with Pathfinder. How would that change my overall build?

    • I have no clue what to add in the 4 link for the boots. Perhaps you could give me a recommendation.

Thank you in advance for your help. I hope you will forgive my worst mistakes.
