End game viable, league starter for a new dad.

    Posted: 27 May 2019 01:54 AM PDT

Hi, I'm planning to return this league because it looks good and my one 1,5-year-old boy now sleeps regularly at nights :) As a newish dad I don't have much time in my hands. A couple of hours in 3-4 nights a week. So I can't make more than one character per league. I get my first shaper kill in delve league with a lightning trapper but he was too squishy for Elder Shaper. Can you recommend a decent map clearer and boss killer. Thanks...

    Fork fireball self cast?

    Posted: 27 May 2019 02:07 AM PDT

I see that fireball with fork is quite a popular build for miners in 3.6 (a decent number of lvl 100s), but there is no selfcast version on poe.ninja, any explanation on the matter? Is it because of the high cast time that kinda makes it clunky?

I'm talking non ignite version, either crit or EO. Theoretically it should perform very well right, as any monster close to a wall would get hit by the initial proj then 2 overlapping explosions, and in case it's not, a simple gem swap with slower proj should do the trick. Or is it just that fire spells are out of the meta because of the chaos conversion hype?

    Ps4 melee build.

    Posted: 27 May 2019 01:51 AM PDT

Hi, Ive been playing a tectonic slam crit build with one handed swords. My knowledge about the games is still close to non existent. I'm level 80 atm. What other build would you guys recommend for a ps4 peasant to start in the next league? Thank you.

    Fast screen clear league starter

    Posted: 27 May 2019 12:06 AM PDT

Looking for a non-melee class as a league starter. I'm hoping for something fast with big clear to best utilize the new league.

I haven't done anything bow based before so that might be fun, but my number 1 priority would be to hit/trigger as many stasis mobs as I can then clear them. Thoughts?

looking for a cheap boss killer! normally ran RF with SR-totem Templar but unsure if strong enough to handle them

    Posted: 26 May 2019 10:33 AM PDT

so i been playing for a while now(pretty much sense beta) but i never killed the elders/shaper. i would mostly farm maps and help people , but this season coming up i really want to feel like i BEAT the game and i wanna take out the elders. i for the last 3 seasons have only played Templar RF with SR-totems and would have like 3 or 4 totems out and roasting everything in maps , does anyone think that that build could handle the boss fights? i only roll 1 to maybe 2 characters per league and i don't play standard so its always a race for me to get to maps

i want a character i can start off with just found gear for map clearing that at the end could kill the bosses with maybe 2 EX in gear. i just not to sure if RF could push the bosses and win

Looking for help with build: Wild/Molten-Strike CI Oni-Goroshi Doedre's Skin Occulist

    Posted: 26 May 2019 07:16 PM PDT

Looking for help with a build im trying to put together for next league. It probably won't stack up to super meta stuff, but hoping it will be decently strong. Any items you know of that i could be using, or optimizations i'm missing would be helpful.

I had the idea for this build after they changed the totem to be instant summon for Doedre's Skin. I wanted to take advantage of Malediction's Non-Chaos damage as extra damage. Doedre's skin allows us to have 9 curses on an enemy pretty easily (or more). Coupling that with Doedre's Scorn's 20% damage per curse gives us 180%(+20% ele from helm itself) = 200% extra damage for 9 curses, plus a very large amount of extra damage from malediction.

Malediction will also grant that bonus conversion for each time that type of damage is converted. So we get it once for the physical, and then once again for whatever element wild-strike converts into. I namely chose wild-strike because it's my favorite skill. You could throw a lot of skills in there, as long as they convert phys damage.

There's a couple of problems with Doedre's Skin though, namely the fact you need to get your 6-L from somewhere else. I also wanted a weapon that had high physical damage so the 100% conversion from wild-strike will get as much double dipping from Malediction as possible. So that leaves us only three real options that I know of:

    1. Oni-Goroshi
    2. Wings of Entropy (I am hoping wings gets buffed next patch so I can use it instead)
    3. A 2hander

I decided to go with Oni-Goroshi because it's high "base" damage and the free 6L associated with it. The other "benefit" of having to use our weapon as our main 6L is we can easily weapon swap into a different skill for a different need. So for bosses you can just weapon swap to molten strike instead and kill them much faster.

Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to improve the build, or anything i'm missing.

A few questions about poison builds

    Posted: 26 May 2019 04:04 PM PDT

I'm wanting to try my hand at making my own build with poison without really following a guide. I'm not sure what route I want to go yet.

Thinking of either an "Infected Wounds" theme with bleed and poison.

    "Toxic Flames" poison fire

    Or bow build.

Question is are there any off meta items that lend themselves to posion? Or is there a website I'm not aware of that you can see a list of all Uniques based on a keyword like poison

Looking for a 3.7 build that comes close to D3 barb LoN HotA speed farm build.

    Posted: 26 May 2019 11:25 AM PDT

I have super high hopes on the new namelocking abilities with 3.7.

That is one of the aspects that makes D3 LoN HotA so much fun to play with HotA on right mouse.

You just hold down right mouse and the char goes ham.

Glacial Hammer, Heavy Strike (with Melee Splash) and Infernal Blow are skills that kinda embrace the same style has HotA. Small area of impact with high Oomph.

Gladiator bleed explosion would be the cherry on top.

The D3 build has high movement speed from buffs. That could be handled by Onslaught and Adrenaline Quicksilver.

The char has insane attack speed at least for D3. 4 attacks per second would suffice. That is achievable with a 2H in PoE.

The D3 build has Furious Charge with a charge speed highly buffed from movement speed. Is there any skill like Furious Charge in PoE? Please no Leap Slam. Here is my main issue. What skill would get me from pack to pack quickly that is not Leap Slam? Is Charged Dash an option?

What makes the build in D3 so much fun is the In-Geom item. It reduces the cooldown of charge to 0 seconds after killing an elite for 15 seconds. Mostly that is enough to reach the next pack. The movement speed kill has to be spammable. At least for a short amount of time.

I am not sure if the new Dash skill will suffice. It sorta has the same feel as Furious Charge (according to Baeclast) when you fight a pack.

    Deadeye Brutality Ethereal Knives, Haemophilia

    Posted: 26 May 2019 04:50 AM PDT

    Deadeye Brutality Ethereal Knives, Haemophilia

This is a build showcase for the build I played most in Synthesis; a Deadeye using Ethereal Knives in combination with bleeds and Haemophilia.

    Example of an easy boss.

Goals of the build: make a cheap, effective map-clear build that feels good and can do some bosses.

Results: Good. Great for starting, it hit a soft limit at T12 multidamage map bosses, but my gear is also OK at best.

The basics of this build is very simple. Shield charge with Chance to bleed, Haemophilia and Rupture, use Ethereal Knives until the pack goes "pop".

Since it's a Deadeye, you get a bunch of things that are good for EK for free; Pierce, Crit chance, Action speed, Projectile Damage.

Brutality is used, since we're doing a physical spell. If you want to scale elemental or chaos damage, other classes are simply better.

Additionally, we use Cyclopean coil for Freeze and Shock ailment immunities (by having dex>int>str), Chill Immunity boots, and aim for Stun resistance on shield, helmet and chest. This, in combination with Tailwind, gives us a great feeling of control and speed.

A Corrupted Blood immunity Ring of Blades makes us effectively immune to bleeds as well, while the Shakari god-power gives poison immunity for maps where that's needed.

Acrobatics and Phase acro is used for overall mitigation, while Basalt and our flexible flask spots are used for actual damage reduction.

A Warlord's Mark on hit ring is used for sustain. Spell Echo makes it easy to sustain even against packs that would otherwise be in 1-shot range.

I have used Zealotry and War banner for reservation. Before you get a Warlord's mark on hit ring, you can pick up reduced mana reservation on the skilltree and use blasphemy warlords mark.

EB+MoM is an option for higher budget versions.

A +1 curse (vulnerability), +1gemlvl, +spellcrit chest would be ideal, but by far the most expensive item in the build. A weapon with Tora's unveiled flat phys/20-30% chance to bleed mod would also be great.

Links with EK is mostly up to what you like. Brutality is your biggest damage boost, Spell Echo goes super well with Warlords on Hit, Critical strikes is nice for consistency, Onslaught goes well with shield charge. I personally don't like Slower Proj (less AoE) and Controlled Destruction (less consistency).

Tailwind, Rupture and Powerful Precision is your most important ascendancy notables. I use Fast and Deadly for the last, but Far Shot is also an option, for bigger area coverage of the projectile nova.

    Critique my Legion starter!

    Posted: 26 May 2019 07:12 AM PDT

Hey! I'm relatively sure the starter I have planned for Legion won't see much in the way of changes, as its a purifying flame chieftain.

    https://pastebin.com/y7Vkke98

There's a pob. I didn't mock up all the gear, just the basics of what I'll want.

6L damage is 630k realistically, with no frenzies or flasks. I have enemy fire resistance set to -59% to get that, to account for the malachai's ring giving me EE (assuming no changes there) and a fossil crafted helm. The Kaom's Heart will obviously not come right away, but the build doesn't require it to work. The plan will be to farm up the cards that give a 5L staff myself as soon as I can get to the appropriate tier of maps, while saving for a set of The Dark Mage cards. My second ring will be a warlord's mark on hit ring when I can get or make one, but until then I'll drop zealotry and run it on a blasphemy.

Damage seems good, but can be taken a lot further with a good staff, a fossil crafted stygian, a purifying flame helm enchant, and a zealotry watcher's eye to give enemies take increased damage on cons. ground.

Defenses should be fine. Will have endurance charges for long immortal calls while mapping, good leech, very high regen plus consecrated ground everywhere, some phys taken as fire, and long fortifies because of the vigilant strike jewel. No extra protection from elemental, but I think Jonathan said the reworked molten shell now protects against all damage, so maybe that will be able to help in a pinch. I figure life should be roughly 7k when fully geared.

Actually I just realized I forgot to put wave of conviction in there somewhere, so dps should be higher.

How does this look as a league starter? Are there any problems you can foresee me having? I usually just go with a meta build, but felt like doing something different this time.
