    Deciding which cylone build

    Posted: 18 Jul 2019 12:33 AM PDT

    Hi,

this is the first time ever I want to play a Cyclone build. In this league I have started with ED / Contagion and switched then to Ziz's Hoag Juggernaut.

Now I finally want to play Cyclone Slayer as my League end build. Btw. I am playing on PS4, and I play 2-3 hours per day approx.

Currently I have 8ex raw + some items to sell like a Kaom's Heart (4-5ex), good rare belt 3ex, good rare helmet 4ex

So if I can manage to sell all I might sit at around 17-19 Ex.

    I already go a Devoto's and a Daresso's Salute for Cyclone.

    (my account: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/sony/view-profile/YKMN85)

I was totally inspired by FastAF's Cyclone build here in the sub-reddit.

But after scanning the market, it is clear that I can simply not afford those items. For example a 6-linked 560pDPS Weapon with Fortify costs around 25ex. Everything below that don't have Fortify or much much lower pDPS.

So my target would be to farm Red Maps as well as doing 3way emblem fights and if possible UE (never did UE before).

Since it seems items on PS4 are priced extremely high in comparison to PC prices, I might not be able to follow FastAF's build in terms of items.

So my question would be, if you an recommend a very strong cyclone build that can in some way compete with FastAF dmg? There are many many Cyclone builds around, but since I am very new to melee I have no idea which one is strong, in terms of my targets, and which are more or less moderate builds.

    Thanks for you help!

    Greetings!

First time player: Slow Mo Zombie Crazy Catlady

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 10:43 PM PDT

    Hello exiles,

I've started playing this league and so far I am enjoying it very much, although I have not amassed anything much of value yet which limits my possibilities I guess... I am seeking advice for my Crazy Cat Lady Necromancer Build:

This is the current state of the character: lvl 86

This is what I've planned so far for later: lvl 95

I've started out with Wrecker of Days Slow Mo Zombies build which is probably a lot better rounded than what I put together but I just love the celestial cat soulrend skin and wanted to use it. I have progressed to T11 maps quite easily but I could use a bit more damage output and I'm also getting a bit squishy (I haven't figured out yet what these explosions are from enemies, I think they happen after they're dead? These can one shot me sometimes if I don't manage to flame dash away quickly enough.) My main tactic is to summon everything and send my skeletons as an avalanche, run in to curse and bane/despair, run out and shoot soulrend from as far away as possible. Probably not the most efficient way to clear maps but fun :D I used to run contagion instead of bane but I think I dealt less damage with it (subjectively as well as with PoB calculations, although I don't know how realiable that is).

As can be seen from the PoB links I also run temporal chains as aura via blasphemy support, have support from a stone golem and herald of purity. From my limited grasp on mechanics the last is useful because zombies deal phys damage, right? Or would I profit from any other skill more? I use Cwdt with desecrate+spirit offering+enfeeble

I thought about getting a 6L weapon so I can add void manipulation support to soulrend and bane/despair. Currently I have set up soulrend+efficacy+greater multiple projectiles+item rarity and with a 6L I'd change it to that soulrend+efficacy+greater multiple projectiles+void manipulation support+bane+despair so all the chaos spells profit from the support gems to get some more damage. Only so far I haven't found a viable options. All staffs I've found yet lacked the +spell damage I get from my wand and spirit shield. What would you recommend? Or would you recommend keeping it 4L as is?

I've found a Baron but have probably no way to get to 300 yet alone to >1000 str with this build :/ Thus my further plans for this are to get a 6L-chest so I can mash my skeletons together with the zombies and minion support gems (otherwise I wouldn't have room for a 6L weapon anyways...)

Any more tips for a newbie? "Must have"-equip I should save my currency for? Is there an easy way to get a bit more +movespeed? Skill tree wise, are the life nodes on the "life wheel" (recomnmended in Wrecker of Days' guide) really worth it or should I get something else? The +5% amass to not much with the low amount of total life I have so far and I was wondering if it was really worth it? And as a last question: What kind of armor is useful for endgame? So far I've been focusing on energy shield and getting as much resistancesand +life as possible.

Thanks for reading all this and any help in advance!

and apologies for any mistakes or weird wording as english is not my native language :)

    Help with Bane

    Posted: 18 Jul 2019 01:12 AM PDT

I looked up PoENinja and seen two trends with Bane. Some use the unique gloves to trigger curses and only use one or two curse with Bane with support gems. Some put four or five cursee with Bane and the rest is a support gem like controlled destruction or efficacy. I thought Bane gets multiplied by curses more than with support gems. Which is the correct Way? I think about going with Bane with five curses as I don't want to press a lot of buttons, but if it's way less dmg I might change my mind.

    Divine Ire Ignite Chieftain

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 09:01 PM PDT

So I just bought a new laptop because of prime day, and I can finally play the game. I thought I sucked so bad, but actually it was just my computer constantly locking up that made me die all the time. I started as a straight divine ire build, but went ignite because I thought I could do more DPS. I think the DPS is more consistent than the super wide swings of normal crit divine ire, but I don't have those major 1 shots of the non-chaos eternity shroud builds. I don't use Conc effect though, so that's kind of nice.

    https://pastebin.com/7MQhMBQK

I was looking for more damage for my divine ire chieftain. It's kind of wonky, but I like it.

I have to get the colors on my chest right, which is going to be hard. 4 blue, 1 green, 1 red would be perfect, and would get me to 809k ignite dps.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice for more ignite damage.

I can't do elemental equilibrium because of phys to fire conversion. I could possibly spec out of that ascendency node, but I lose too much, and the only node that makes sense is the totem one. EE is good and all, but I would have to change too many things around equipment-wise. Also, EE is kinda overrated for divine ire because you can't use the mob you're trying to hit to charge the beam, so it isn't great for bossing because you just charge so much slower that way. Anyway, covered in Ash is 20% more fire damage taken, and I get 15% more burning damage from Ramako's sun light.

Also, PoB doesn't calculate Ngamahu's flame advance 100% physical as extra fire at all, but I'm not sure what that actually is.

PoB also doesn't calculate 6% increased burning damage for each non-shocked enemy you have shocked recently from the Stormfire ring. Vaal Arc always shocks, and it also chains a ton, so I'm not actually sure how much increased burning damage I get from hitting a legion pack with vaal arc, but I'm not sure I need it either. It really helps melt Elder though, and I'm hoping I can run 5 way legion packs with my new laptop too.

Anyway, I think I got all the burning damage i possibly could. Where else can I get more ignite damage? Is this what happens with ignite builds? You just top out, and only elementalist is top notch?

I might be able to get an elder ring with similar stats, but with the elder mod added fire damage to spells and attacks. I might be able to slam my sceptre with burning damage, but that's a long shot. Or I could try to buy one that has the stats I have, but with burning damage also, or with physical as a random element, and if the random element is lightning or fire it would add to burning damage.

I'm currently aiming to get vorici white sockets on my armor, and also make my amulet into a talisman. I might also take the cost of skills off, and put on some damage mod instead. Maybe I can replace some of my jewels with slightly better ones, but that only gets me about 10k more ignite dps, but every bit counts.

Well, any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Gladiator Blade Flurry build [help needed]

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 04:12 PM PDT

I have tried to theory-craft my first build, centered around Farrul's Bite and Fur. I will use Blade flurry as my main skill and the tree focuses on getting 100% chance to bleed and damage to bleeding enemies as well as generic sword notes.

According to PoB i should have enough damage, but my problems comes mainly in the defences. Do you think, this will work - and if not, what could I do to improve the build and make it viable

    Thank you in advance

two noob friends who are both phys cycloners. what's the best way to support for 5way emblems they want to run?

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 02:26 PM PDT

never done an aurabot before. thinking either telling them to swap out brutality and going for a bigass aura dps scion + resists/armor. or i could go for +ES bot and tell them to get more damage nodes (which i'm sure they'd love). what do you think would be better?

HC Jugg League Start [help pls]

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 01:54 PM PDT

So I rolled my first ever HC character today. Did pretty well on the early stages despite lag (ping spikes up to 2.5k) and beat Dominus.

I then decided it was about time I did lab, which is when shit started going south. During the first Izaro fight, I realised I have no damage. It took me a solid minute and a half to phase him.

I realised that I would probably die on that lab so I got out of it.

Rn I'm using Sunder with one handed rare axe and a rare shield.

Please lmk what I can do to increase my damage while still maintaining tankiness. (Lag makes it so I am unable to control my char for 3 ish seconds).

First time ever with ED-Contagion/Bane could use a lot of help.

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 12:19 PM PDT

As the title states, i chose ED-Cont this league as my first character but now that im plateauing at t6-7 maps im not sure what or where to improve with ghazzy's guide.

The Obvious gaps i know about would be setting up the rest of my gear to use all the other skills i need still and improving gear.

Other than that im not sure what my steps should be. At the moment i need to resocket gear and finish gettig all the gems in place that i need. Also finishing uber lab is probably huge too.

    Smite as a main skill?

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 06:13 AM PDT

When smite released I tried playing it with an off skill along with dominating blow and really enjoyed it. Since this is cyclone melee league, I was wanting to give it another shot, but I can't find any build guides. I tend to be bad to very bad at creating my own builds in pob.

Anyone have any suggestions on a build I could look to modify to convert to a smite build?

    Looking for high-budget none-melee build

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 09:39 AM PDT

I'm currently playing a Vaal Storm Call Pathfinder, amazing build, melts T16's, but I've gotten bored farming glacier and burial chambers, and with net worth of about 60ex I'm not nearly close enough to getting a headhunter.

Since this is the first time I've ever accumulated more than 5-10ex, I'm looking for builds that would not be viable without dropping 30+ ex. A build that uses an Atziri's Reflection, or Farrul's Fur, or Zerphi's Heart, etc.

    Any ideas?

LF an interesting build within +/- 30 Ex

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 08:43 AM PDT

Hello there. I managed to farm some currency with my slayer cyclone and wanted to roll another build now.

It should be endgame viable (uber, legion clear, shaper and so on) and (if possible...) no cyclone, vaal arc, ED or ice nova. I just cant find something interesting on poeninja or in the forums as the current meta kinda forces you in a certain direction. do you guys have any ideas? the budget is around 30ex and i love technical builds with some cool synergies going on.

    thanks and gl!

Need Help, my mana keeps refilling

    Posted: 17 Jul 2019 07:03 AM PDT

    Hello,

I am running a soul-eater focused cyclone build. my mana keeps recharging to quick and I am losing my mind.

    https://pastebin.com/CZEYBEV1

I have agnostic through the IRON GRIP keystone. So, I do lose 20% of my mana per second. I keep gaining mana though. I have turned off herald of ash, dread banner, and sand stance to see if it helps and it did, but I am still gaining mana. It is driving me nuts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really do not want to drop one of my rings to pick up the shavronnes ring.

    Please help.
