Xai SSFHC Act 10 Kitava Race - August 24th 10pm CEST

    Posted: 11 Aug 2019 10:30 AM PDT

I thought I'd get into organizing races as well. I'll be using largely the same format Kammell used in his races. This first race is mainly to see how organizing a race goes and to work out potential problems.

    https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2618134

Format: Act 10 Kitava kill on SSFHC(non-Legion)

    Time and date: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20190824T20&p0=%3A&msg=Act+10+Kitava+Kill&font=cursive

    Prizepool
I contribute €200 myself, but everyone is free to chip in: https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8hcLea65EH

    Rank 1: 50% of prizepool
    Rank 2: 30% of prizepool
    Rank 3: 20% of prizepool

    Rules: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Gen0zhuuwadp1afx8BdJB3Z90N8ue561t8DMiPbUqVY

Casting: The race will be casted by RaizQT and Octavian0 on RaizQT's channel.

    How to sign up

Since this is a bosskill race streaming is required. Because of this invitations are not completely open(although in practice: if you want to get in and can stream, you will get in). If you want to participate you'll have to send me a video of you doing a SSF Vaal Kill within 35 minutes(can be on Youtube or Twitch) in a message with your Twitch channel and PoE profile. This proves to me you can probably stream. If you qualified for one of Kammell's races in the past(where you also had to send in a video) you can just message me mentioning that, I have Kammell's list. Make sure you read the rules before you sign up.

141 shaper runs in LSC rapport, TL:DR - Big net loss but got HO.

141 shaper runs in LSC rapport, TL:DR - Big net loss but got HO.

The Shaper 03:24 AM: Turn back trespasser, cease this madness.

Posting this in case anyone is interested in reports from the celestial turnip farmers of the day.

    • League: Legion SC
    • Date of runs: 9th-11th of August.
    • Character: Lvl 100 pure phys cyclone, tuned for ms and dmg.
    • Amount of runs: 141.
    • Time per run: 3.5 minutes average (Had to do one last run to clock it for this post, he dropped gloves).
      • Total time of runs: 8 hours, 12 minutes (Very rough estimate)
    • Cost per run (approx): 50c. (8 per hydra, 12 per phoenix, 12 per minotaur, 18 per chimera).
      • Total cost: 7050c or 40.28 ex (Ex valued at 175c)
    • Value of loot: 16.05 ex
    • Net result: Loss of 24.23 ex but gained HO, gg.

Loot breakdown (Shown in picture): 84 gloves. 30 boots. 18 Dying sun flasks. 7 Solstice amulets. 2 Starforge Swords.
1 Celestial hideoute (run 141 of course, stopped the millisecond I got it)

Value of loot breakdown (based on cheaper end of items for sale as of 11/8-19, legion soft core).

    2x 3.5 ex = 7 ex. (Starforge). 7x 1 ex = 7 ex (Solstice). 18 x 20 c = 360c = 2.05 ex. (Dying sun).
Boots and gloves are currently priced at 1 alch - 1 chaos, I.E: next to nothing.

Note: Price of fragments fluctuate. I bought alot of hydras at 7c each and mino/phoenix at 10c each. For this calculation I choose to go with the higher end, Its possible that I paid closer to 35-38 ex for these runs which still makes the whole venture a catastrophic loss, besides the HO, praise the HO.

Now what can you do with 40 ex in LSC instead of banging your head agains the low-res galactic background of The Shapers realm 141 times?
Buy 2 inspired learnings and enough orb of regrets to respecc into a budget version of HH.
Buy 10 starforges and show them to a friend.
Buy 2 multimodded jewelled foils with 1 natural T1 each.
Buy 70-75 kaoms heart glorious plate and have a field day at the roulette table with vaal orbs.
Buy 1 really nice elder astral plate.
    Anything but shaper runs.

Moral of the story: Dont do this kids, unless you really want the Celestial hideout, then do it, but probably do it with a group.

So I finally got to endgame.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2019 05:06 AM PDT

    Hi everyone

As the title says, Ive finally reached endgame for the first time since I started play PoE.

Right now Im running lacerate glad which is a starter build that was recommnded, and I want to improve my farming methods.

Im kind of lost as of where I should start or what I should be aiming for - as of right now Im just doing random maps casually. When I try to see\read a farming guide I get lost after a couple of minutes.

I would appreciate your suggestions as to how to get started, or maybe even lvl up a new char with a build that fits better for farming.

301 Fossils OUTSIDE of walls in frozen hollow depth 393 (looking for similar data for the other biomes, and for azurite numbers per depth)

    Posted: 11 Aug 2019 05:33 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

So Ive started recording which fossils im finding in a frozen hollow area without breaking any of the walls. I also kinda need a break from farming the same area over and over, and was wondering if there was a biome with at least somewhat similarly profitable fossils. Hard to find any trustworthy numbers though, considering most sheets dont even have shuddering fossils in frozen hollow (which I can confirm is a thing). Anyone got data? Farmed these in depth ~ 393

    This is what I got:

    179 Frigid Fossil (59,5%)

    43 Shuddering Fossils (14,3%)

    43 Serrated Fossils (14,3%)

    36 Prismatic Fossils (12%)

Percentages are all rounded (coincidentally all rounded up, which is why it comes out as 100,1%). This is pretty similar to what I got before recording, though I found a bunch of prismatics in the end, skewing the result somewhat. Over a longer sample size, Id say theyre slightly less frequent than 12%.

Also interested in Azurite numbers for different depths. Dont have any real data, but on 393 I get about

    115 (for the small azurite)

    290 (for rich)

    430 (for pure)

rough numbers, but over a relatively large sample size (several hundred thousand azurite). Could be 120, 300, 440, could be 110, 280, 410 or something, but its not far off. It feels very similar in depth 580. Is there a jump at some point? Whats it like depth 800? depth 1000?

[Discussion] I think my problem is with the genre and not with the game, but I don't know what I'm looking for.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2019 05:07 AM PDT

I've played at least one character to level 90ish in every patch since closed beta. I played D2 religiously and played other ARPGs. I generally have fun for the time that I play.

I play for like, two weeks at a time. I never push to kill the hardest bosses or get the best gear to maximize a build. Even though I have ideas for them, I never make a bunch of alts. I never attempt to maximize my efficiency or get a lot of currency. I do the same thing in other ARPGs.

I make a character, play through the story and do the end-game until it's moderately strong, then lose interest and wait until the next new thing is added to the game to try, which I excitedly pursue every time even knowing that I have no plans to maximize its potential.

What is the psychology of this? Am I enjoying the game? Is there some other genre or pastime I might be more engaged with investing time in? Is this just normal and I'm overthinking it a bit?

I feel like PoE is a game that's so deep and thoughtfully designed, I should be getting more creative or committed when I play it, but I'm kind of half-assing every aspect of it and I feel like that indicates something I can't really articulate.

    Crafting advice

    Posted: 11 Aug 2019 12:41 PM PDT

Aight so i'm gonna get straight to the point, and i need a little advice on crafting some sceptres for my vaal arc character.
I'm thinking going for shaped opal sceptres and aiming for:

20% ele dmg as extra chaos ( Eternity Shroud based build )
    Reduced Vaal cost
    and Multimod the rest.

Obviously this needs bloodstained fossils, but are there any other specific fossils i should be using together with bloodstained for a better shot at hitting the above mentioned combo?

All the things about blocking with fossils and stuff is a little confusing to me.

    Thanks in advance!

    Advice for farming currency

    Posted: 11 Aug 2019 01:36 PM PDT

    Hey guys!

I recently started to really get into PoE. Im level 91 right now and running maps, do some delving and those kind of stuff. One thing I dont understand is how so many get so much currency. So you guys luck out in drops/crafting and sells or do you have some secret currency hoarding tip for a beginner?

    Fun builds other than TS/Cyclone

    Posted: 11 Aug 2019 12:45 PM PDT

Hey guys I managed to farm 50ex and I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations on what builds to try out? If it requires a higher budget I can sell my Tornado shot gear so I can have 90 ex.

Using Path of Exile as a Dungeons and Dragons Setting

    Posted: 10 Aug 2019 07:43 PM PDT

Im planning on running a dnd 5e campaign in the Path of Exile setting. Really gonna bring the RP out of this ARPG for my players.

Replacing mobs with dnd monsters. Gods and deities can remain similar to original, but maybe just more of them.

Towns and villages are really lacking in numbers as well. Supplies will be low. Nightmares will be at an all time high.

Just seeing if anyone else has attempted something like this, or have any cool ideas I can/should use.

    edit:

I plan on really only strictly staying with 5e spells and skills.

Not gonna be a loot grind. Im not expecting to make it to maps.

Ill be surprised if they discover/quest to merveil tbh. Also, all my players have never played poe, so I can really just make shit up even if they kill an npc.

Basically, imagine an exile showing up to strand with zombies and hillock. What they do after that is entirely up to them.

The Literal PoE quests might not ever happen but the setting stays the same.

    Suggestion: Listing items to buy

    Posted: 11 Aug 2019 02:13 PM PDT

Since we cant have an old fashioned auction, can we please have the ability to list what we want to buy? It still requires player interaction.

Just let us right click on a public premium stash tab pick a base item, rarity, modifiers, enchants etc, then the price we want to pay
