Noob looking for Legion farming build (if its even a thing)

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:54 PM PDT

Hi guys...as title suggests I'm looking at a farm-it-all konda build purely for farming blights.

Have alrdy a lv91 Slayer-turned-Gladiator (based of Mathil's physical melee template) that managed to get my 24 challenges.

My melee build kinda suck having the need to run ard and slapping stuff in blights so am looking for skmething that can run it lore efficiently. I am totally unaware of how to maximise returns but am looking at doing it in red maps if possible. Maybe even doing blighted maps if I can afford to.

I totally do not mind leveling a new toon and have an estimated budget of 4ex.

Thanks in advance guys and I look forward to all advice!

Help me improve single target damage please

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 02:37 AM PDT

Hi, so I made this guy specifically for Blight encounters and the combination of exploding and chain and +2 beams works well for those, but the single target damage is pathetic.
Any suggestions (besides buying / crafting a better weapon which I'm saving for)?
    Tyvm!

How do I build survivable / tanky self-casters?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 11:52 PM PDT

As of 3.8 it's trivial to make super defensive melee builds. I've pieced together some insanely defensive Gladiators and Juggernauts that shrug off absolutely stupid combinations of map mods, mostly based off of the passive tree and gem-links, without relying on short term buffs like flasks. This is really great since I have a habit of mis-positioning and inevitably facebash into extremely dangerous packs of mobs, so having a build that can survive these moments is important.

I've never been able to replicate that sort of smooth defensive experience on casters of any sort, and my few attempts always seem to end up as glass cannons. I can't seem to fit enough defensive layers while still actually being able to deal acceptable damage like I can with melee builds.

How do I build self-casters that can live? Just to clarify, I ask that you avoid Minions/HOAG, totems, and RF from recommendations, since these are often the easy answers that I've seen in response to similar questions. Recommendations don't need to involve blowing up the entire screen instantly either, I'm fine with losing clearspeed.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Fire Sunder Chieftain - first season playing, could use help improving my build

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:06 PM PDT

    Path of Building link: https://pastebin.com/4BMkhq6y

Basically, I played 1-80ish as a self-imposed SSF, not really paying attention to any guides and ignoring trading, just going by what felt logical to me. Eventually I felt I hit a wall so I downloaded PoB and managed to improve my build by actually getting some feedback on whats good and whats not.

Now as I just recently hit 91, I feel I've reached the limit of what I can do with my limited knowledge, at around 230k DPS with decent AoE clear and some DPS support from Ancestral Warchief. My gear is mostly just rares with decent stats that I picked up. I only plan on going for 24 challenges so I can probably do it with this build and gear but I figured I might as well try to make the build better.

I've got about 5,5 Exalts to spend on new gear and I'm not entirely sure what to go for, and I've tried looking up similar builds but it seems like almost no one is using Sunder and those that do, don't do fire damage conversion build with it. So those aren't much help. I've got a couple of questions that I could use help with:

    1. Have I been using Ngahamu's Flame wrong? When I initially traded for it, I just saw the DPS boost on PoB and thought of the fire conversion as the main function and the Molten Burst as a nice bonus. But I see almost everyone using the axe in their builds is going for six support gems on the axe and using a fast-hitting skill (Cyclone?) to trigger that as much as possible. Since I'm not really interested of transitioning to using Cyclone, I was wondering if similar build would be somewhat effective with Sunder? If I were to slot Sunder and the 5 support gems on a 6L chest piece, I wouldn't even get a DPS loss for Sunder.

    2. Are there any specific uniques that would fit well in my build but also be affordable? I've been looking at some six linked chest pieces (Belly of the Beast? Loreweave?) or maybe that amulet which would grant a "free" Flammability aura.

    3. Are there any easy ways to sustain mana with elemental attack damage? I've found I have to either rely entirely on mana flasks or invest amulet anointment on mana leech which is about a -20k DPS loss.

    4. Also could use general feedback on my passive skill tree, i.e. am I making any obvious mistakes in terms of efficiency.

    Hank The Tank

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:55 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

I've got a question. I recently made a new duelist which will serve as a tankier character. I'm following the hank the tank build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2087746 . I love the idea of this build, but I'm not sure yet if I want to use cleave or not. Would it be possible to use cyclone in the exact same setup? Would I have to change a lot? My main focus for this char is to delve to at least 500 depth this league. Thanks in advance!

Build suggestions? No summoner yes a bit of mitigation please?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 01:50 PM PDT

This league I played only evasion based characters and I somewhat suck with them when I try to chain t15-16s. I also failed Uber elder as well because I get one shoot/I don't know the mechanics.

I tried to make my foretold chars a bit tankier but failed again.

So I like to have an all arounder build. Possibly jugg/champion or maybe mine but not sure miners are my thing. Decent mapping, enough damage to tackle Uber elder and please some tankiness because I'm not good at dodging stuff manually. Every suggestions are welcomed. (I tried wild strike and molten strike/lacerate so no to them. Cyclone is something I would touch at last btw not a fan)

Acquired my first ever HH - need help with a top-tier all-content build

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:36 AM PDT

Hello, exiles! I finally acquired my first HH! I started Blight league with 2 goals -- acquire a HH and unlock the Celestial HO (been farming it the last 2 leagues and have come up dry). Thus, I am half way to my goal.

Currently I'm playing Kayella's Big DPS Spectre build, and it's been amazing, but I'd like to play a build that utilizes my new HH that is zoom zoom, but isn't glass cannon and purely a currency/MF farmer. I'd like to push deeper in delve than I have before (farthest I've been was around 450-500 back in Delve league), be able to zoom through maps cuz currency and map sustain is still a thing, and be able to boss efficiently and safely (dead is still 0 dps), as I'd still like to be able to farm UE and Shapers with it (I will unlock this HO this league, plz rngesus).

I've never had a HH before, never played a ranger before and don't want to just do TS Deadeye cuz that's what most people do. I want to head into the 2nd half of the league and achieve my goals. I have another 20ex or so to play with but can always grind for more. TIA!

    3.8 Self-cast Detonate Dead Showcase

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:36 AM PDT

How can i improve my RF build?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:32 AM PDT

Anybody with an Inquisitor build recommendation that handles Blight content easily?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:20 AM PDT

    my Disintegrator (Stave):

    • Crit Purifying flame Phys To Lighting (5L), with Divine Ire Phys To Lighitng Spell Totem (5L) did ok but got slower the more difficult mods red maps got [1]

    • changed to just Self-Casting Crit Divine Ire Phys To Lighting 5L with 5L Orb Of Stroms as Utility (Curse On Hit Enfeeble and Power Charge Generation). ... is great in maps and bosses, but in Blight, I get overrun. 6-8 out of 10 times and fail the encounter, except when the placements/lanes are clustered. Or if its straight channel.

The last thing I want is got to global and ask for help to get to 24 challenges for the portal (currently at 20). Nor do I want to start a "Blight" character GGG decided beforehand ...

In the Forum I see Spark and Storm Brand.

    Edit:

[1] I guess I could use in this setup the three dragons helmet, which makes my Fire Damage to Shock and my lighting damage to freeze.

Working on a Hiltless + Gluttony Flicker Strike CWDT build. Need ideas.

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 07:37 AM PDT

This will basically be a merge of my two favorite builds in the game, Flicker Strike and the build I have played the most the last leagues, CWDT Ignite Jugg (guide here, for anyone interested)

My plan so far is using Hiltless + Gluttony to take a bunch of damage and proc a bunch of CWDT spells. Reflected damage can be mitigated by:

    • Armor - Gluttony removes all armour
    • Block - I will not use any block.
    • Dodge - I will not use any dodge.
    • Evasion - If I can get "Hits can't be evaded" it will make sure the reflected damage gets through my hopefully high evasion. One way I have found to do that using Hiltless is to use The Effigon + Flesh and Stone in sand stance. All nearby enemies are blinded and I get "Hits can't be evaded" on them. Does this work on me too? Or do I have to be blinded for the reflected damage to always hit me? Is there another way to get "Hits can't be evaded" using Hiltless? The only other option I can see on the wiki page is Resolute Technique which stops me from going crit or EO.

If this works, I will take 150 damage on average from Gluttony for each Flicker Strike activation and 100 damage from each hit on an enemy from Hiltless. Using Multistrike, that's 450 damage for each activation against a single target. That seems too low to proc CWDT spells at any effective rate. Can I increase it somehow, except by having more attack speed? Self-cursing with Vulnerability? Any ideas?

This build is weird in that it wants attack speed and accuracy (if not using Hits can't be evaded) and then it wants a bunch of spell damage related stuff. How do I build it properly? I don't even know what ascendancy would be the best. Does anyone here have any experience with a similar build?

I'm aware this will most likely end up being a much worse version of my current CWDT build linked at the start of the post, but I'm interested in giving it a shot to see what it feels like. Quirky builds can be fun, even if they are not very effective.

Cyclone Slayer build - need help to optimize :)

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:23 AM PDT

    Hi all,

I am an old player of poe (beta) but I never have enough time to invest in the game untill now.

For this guide I create a Slayer cyclone build critic oreinted of my own using other shared one that I adapted based on the drops I had during the league (transcendent flesh dropped on my first alva temple :).

    pastebin ink:

    https://pastebin.com/gbUpBanV

The build is doing fine so far and I can without any trouble farm T16 map, I ve killed shaper as well as red elder without too much problem (I am still bad at shaper stategy so died a few times stupidely...). But I would like to finally take uber elder down now because I' ve never done it yet and I think that I will maybe lack some DPS.

Hence, I would like to know what to upgrade first in term of items and also if I can do some tree optimisation to gain some DPS. I have about 5ex ex sitting in my currency tab right now and probably 5 more if I sell some of the items I am actually hoarding.

I already planned to change my shity body armor for a belly of the beast which should give me around 7400 life pool so I can drop some of the 5% life node to get another jewel slot. I also read that atziri acuity could be a good fit in here to save some skill point but I am not sure if will still have enough life leech if I am also dropping the vitaly void node below.

    What are you opinion?
