Are GGG likely to do anything about these bugged/exploited items?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 03:27 AM PDT

Are Blighted maps still in the game?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 07:34 AM PDT

Seriously, GGG. This is getting really absurd. I'm playing every day, multiple hours. Almost done with 40/40 challenges. Am running lots of T15/T16 maps, doing all T15/T16 Blight encounters, doing ALL master missions, esp. Zana, and do all Blgihted encounters in Zana maps too.

Looking at my logs and notes, I see that I haven't got A SINGLE BLIGHTED MAP IN A WEEK. What gives? Why is this happening league after league, when the league content is very, very, abysmally rare?

It would be more appropriate to call this league "NOT BLIGHT" at this point.

There is something really wrong when I had to buy blighted maps to finish the "blighted maps of all tiers" challenge. For a character than reaches lvl 100, with hundreds of gameplay in the league, this just amazes me, in a bad way. :(

3x Golden Oil t15 BLIGHTED MAP DONE THIS PROFIT YOU WON'T BELIVE!!!

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 09:43 AM PDT

Hello, exiles. After 90 t15 blighted maps with 3x teal/3x violet/1x black+2x teal annoitments I decided to give 3x gold oils a try. I didn't expect much but I also didn't expect super low.

    Currency spent: 3.9ex oils + 126c map + 4 chiesels + 2c for mod reroll
Currency obtained: ~70c mostly from small currency and fragments of sacrifice.

    Profit: ~ -830c

P.S. Just if someone interested about 90 runs, I've earned more than 30ex profit out of them and they were actually fun.

PSA: When your golem dies, there's a chance it takes one of your auras/heralds with it. 3.8.1d bug

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 12:40 AM PDT

Since the most recent patch (3.8.1d) Golem skills are bugged so that if they die or are unsummoned (by removing the gem, swapping out an item with a golem gem in it, or by recasting the golem) there's a chance one of your currently active heralds, auras, or other mana reserving skills deactivates. I haven't been able to reliably determine why exactly this happens but it's worth keeping an eye out for, especially if you lose a golem and it takes a critical defensive aura with it.

In the meantime, remove your golems from your build unless they're absolutely critical, especially if you're playing a HC character.

    Product of faithless fossil crafting

Since Prime Resonators are very expensive (and I'm poor this league) and I already farmed some Aberrant, Shuddering, Corroded and Serrated fossils, so gave it a go faithlessly to try with Powerful Resonators. Got this and now I'm not 100% sure which 3/4 fossils I used... Anyway I used my rng for this league, prob the next one too...

The Chaos Report - Week 3: Blighted Maps II (Red-Tier) || [TEXT VERSION RELEASE]

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 04:38 PM PDT

    DISCLAIMER:

This Thread will be an experiment, in which I post a text-version of The Chaos Report, specifically designed to be read, rather than watched, as I've received a few requests from people that simply do not enjoy video-format content.

If you enjoy this particular thread and want more of them in the future, let me know!

Please do be aware that these text-based posts will always be slightly late and as such might be a bit outdated (though I attempt to update values, such as current prices for items, etc.), as they are from 2-3 days ago.

Creating the Chaos Report, as a video, takes about 10 hours of work from research, script writing to editing and releasing it.

These text posts take another 2-3 hours of time, as I need to pack all the information into equally as understandable bits as the video, which means I cannot release them simultaneously, as my schedule simply doesn't allow this amount of work in 1-2 days and any further increase in the development schedule would make the information be more outdated than I'm willing to.

I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, but I hope that this will still provide the desired information for everyone!

    END OF DISCLAIMER

    Hello everyone, LunaWolve here.

Welcome to the Week 3 TEXT VERSION episode of The Chaos Report for the Blight challenge league!

Do keep in mind that these are educated guesses or predictions and as such they might not be entirely accurate.

    SEGMENT 1: CURRENCIES & COMMODITIES

As always, Exalted Orbs are up first.

Since last week, they have risen by another 5 chaos to a pretty much unprecedented pricepoint of 195c each.

The only ever time they've reached the 190c+ mark, was during Betrayal League, and the reason for that should be pretty apparent. It was the first league that introduced crafting and multi-modding to the masses, rather than being something for the absolute top of the playerbase.

However, the prices in Betrayal never eclipsed the 195c per exalt price point and only reached it in the first place, for 2 days total. The price stayed above 190c for 8 days total, but that was about 7 weeks into league. We're currently entering week 4 of this league and as a result, the prices shouldn't have reached this high of a peak yet, if we compare them to previous leagues.

As a result, predicting Exalt prices has been quite difficult this league in general. They are projected to keep increasing, but as there is no precedent available yet, it is impossible to tell when they'll stop rising.

Alteration Orbs have, on the other hand, continued their slow but steady climb, reaching a peak at a 6:1 ratio.

They've since then, dipped a tiny bit again, down to about a 6.4:1 ratio. They'll likely stay inbetween the 6:1 and 7:1 ratio for the remainder of the league.

The difference in prices for these, comperatively to the Legion League, is due to their reduced usage. Whereby last league, pretty much every character required 2+ alt+regal crafted items, as they were mostly melee and also dual-wielding a lot of times, we instead have many characters require 1 or even no alt+regal and multi-modded items instead.

This leads to less demand for the alteration orbs, while the blighted maps and blight encounters still provide a near-legion level of supply, thus leading to the alteration orbs slight decrease in prices, comperatively to last league.

Ancient Orbs have been rising rapidly since last week, peaking at about 51c, however since then dipping down to 45c in the last few days already.

As I predicted in last week's episode, this was a definite possibility due to the volatility of this particular currency. It is intricately entwined with the prices of the Headhunter unique belt and as a result, can vary drastically between each week and even days.

We've seen a rapid increase in prices for ancient orbs, then seen the headhunter dip a tiny bit for a day or two, then rapidly rise at the end of the week, while ancient orb prices fell again.

The market's reaction to this interaction will always be a few days delayed, as the overall playerbase and market needs to catch up first, so keep that in mind when you intend to buy/sell ancient orbs or the headhunter.

One additional node on Ancient Orbs however:

I have, so far, severely underestimated the willingness of people to try and chance a headhunter and as a result have understated the likely fluctuation range of prices.

To correct this, we'll be predicting ancient orbs to likely stay around the 35-60c area, rather than the 40c max laid out last week, extremes not included of course.

Blighted Maps have seen an overall increase in their prices, as predicted.

However, we do see that a majority of the white-tier blighted maps have dipped down to the around 20c pricepoint, from their last week's 22c majority.

As a result, your base-line blight encounter in maps has lost a tiny bit of minimum value. Keep in mind, however, that the yellows and red blighted maps have increased in prices, which will result in a net-gain for the currency that each blight encounter is potentially worth, assuming you're running at least yellow-red tier maps at the moment.

Currently, I'd recommend skipping encounters below the 5 lane (read: reward chests) minimum, if you're running on a fast build.

If you're in need of currency however, I'd recommend running all of them, as they do drop quite the decent amount of extra currency per map and thus make it a more efficient per-map ratio, rather than per-hour, regardless of lane count.

The more expensive yellow maps, have placed themselves at around 30-45c, depending on the base map tier.

The most expensive blighted maps are the T15 red maps, just like last week of course, which have all found themselves at about 125c each.

Including another informational update from last week, blighted maps do indeed inherent the base position and type of the map, which means that maps such as Dark Forest are more favored because they can drop the respective dark-forest only divination cards during the loot explosion of the blighted map encounter. They will not however, drop map-specific items in the chests, so keep that in mind.

The other red-tier blighted maps of interest are all that are above or at T13. We'll go more into detail during our strategy section as to why that is the case, but for now, just be aware that each of those maps, meaning T13 and above, excluding T15, go for about 88-90c each at the current moment.

For farming blighted maps, the same rules are last week still apply. The highest possible map you can run, is the best map to farm in. T16s and T15s have a vastly increased chance to receive more lanes per encounter, which in return will give you more chances to receive blighted chests and thus blighted maps and oils.

    SEGMENT 2: UNIQUE ITEM WATCHLIST

It currently consists of only 4 unique items, however we'll be keeping this number of items for now, to make some room for more discussions around blighted maps on, just like we did last week.

Also similar to last week, let me know in the comments if you'd like me to keep the unique item watchlist this short or if you'd prefer a longer watchlist instead, similarly to how we used to have them in the legion chaos reports.

The Transcendent Flesh has seen a large and unexpected price leap since last week, getting up to 166c each.

The Jewel has, in this league so far, stuck around the 80c area, ever since their initial rise which concluded around Sept 16th.

Following this data, which we've been able to take a good look at for the past weeks, this price increase is likely caused by an outside source, rather than a generic change in the meta. Especially as the rise occured suddenly and rather drastically, we can assume that a popular streamer, content creator or otherwise has used this jewel in some way, which has created an increased demand for it. HOWEVER as you will see later in the Meta Analysis, a shift in the meta has also occured, which makes these jewels more diserable than before.

As always with the Transcendent Flesh, keep in mind that this creates a solid investment opportunity for all players, as you can create your own Transcendant Flesh with a vial of transcendence, a tempered flesh as well as a T3 sacrifice room in alva's temple.

At the moment of writing this part, it'll run you about 48c total, netting you a profit around ~120chaos, if you intend on selling the resulting transcendent flesh.

To give some context to these prices, in legion league, these jewels were able to fetch a maximum price of about 655c. We're very likely not going to return to this price point, but we might get up to it's first-week price, of about 185c.

Keep an eye on them for the following week and consider running a few extra Alva atlas missions, to potentially cash in on a transcedent flesh or two while their prices are still high.

Their rise in price is likely not concluded and might get up to early-legion levels, depending on whether or not the current meta shift will continue.

Moving onto the Bottled Faith, we'll see quite a lot of change, as it's price has risen to above 25ex yet again.

The reason for its enormous prices were explained in the last two episodes. The rarity of this flask however, I have HEAVILY underestimated, which lead to my previous predictions of them being likely to drop a bit further before stabilising.

The Bottled Faith is instead, due to it's crazy rarity, likely going to continue rising for a while, as more and more players are getting to the point where they'll be able to pick one up, further increasing demand.

One further update about mechanics, it seems that "The Cortex" encounter, which is the Zana mission-only unique map that can drop this flask, is able to spawn at T12 and above, similar to how it was in Synthesis League as well.

This assumption is supported by multiple reports of people getting the encounter at iLvL 79 areas, aka. T12 maps, and the Bosses dropping iLvL 81 items at the least. As Unique Monsters in Path of Exile drop area-iLvL+2 items, this indicates that their lowest spawning level appears to be T12.

To wrap this one up, all I have to add is that the flask will likely continue to be a staple of high-currency characters due to its incredible power budget coupled with the rarity of it.

Pretty much all builds in the game, especially crit-based ones, consider this one to be their best-in-slot damage flask. As a result, if you receive one, it might be worth using over selling, if you're otherwise fine on currency.

That said... 25ex is a lot of currency to start new characters with....

The Primordial Jewels as well as the Devouring Diadem have been removed from the Watchlist, as they have not seen any unexpected changes since last week and have followed their price drop predictions to the letter. As a result, they're not further interesting to the current meta and will be replaced next week with two new Unique items.

SEGMENT 3: META & ATLAS ANALYSIS

Comperatively to last week, there have been very little Meta changes overall.

We're able to observe an about 1% drop in saboteur players, which has slightly re-distributed itself among the Juggernaut and Guardian ascedencies.

One thing that did indeed change over the past few weeks rather drastically however, is the distribution of player skills used on the Assassin ascendency.

Where we've seen mostly poison builds at the start of the league, we now see that a ton of them have moved over to a CWC and COC Cyclone + Ice Nova setup, whereby Cobra Lash, the most used poison skill, has dipped from it's #1 spot down to #3.

This is a result of the poison rework not being well received by a lot of players, which since then have decided to take advantage of the amazing rework for the assassin rework, to build a tried and tested COC/CWC build instead.

Despite this change however, continue to focus on the summoners, as they are clearly representing the majority of the playerbase at the moment, but don't throw out those high-elemental or spell damage rings, as they're very much loved by the new cyclone assassins as well.

Furthermore, this change likely had a large impact on the prices of the Bottled Faith unique flask, as mentioned earlier. Since the conscecrated effect created by it increases base-crit chance, it is HIGHLY sought after for these particular builds.

As for the Atlas Analysis, most of what I have recommended the last three week is still holding true, however there will be an additional recommendation here.

Outside of the maps and strategies mentioned in the last 3 weeks, I'd also recommend Alleyways in either a shaped or elder strat.

Alleyways offers a great variety of benefits, that the other maps here do not quite offer in the same way.

Firstly, it is another one of the exalted orb divination card maps. It drops the "Saint's Treasure" similar to Precinct. However, unlike precinct, this map is VERY linear, which means there is less downtime between packs and thus, less downtime between being able to get a drop.

Secondly, the position on the atlas is very favorable due to cheaper sextants, as it's surrounded by exclusively white maps. As such, your sextant setup will be a lot cheaper to handle.

Lastly, for players that are JUST getting into the mapping process, alleyways is also a natural T2, which will allow you to start farming it very early on.

With minimal investment required, it will allow newly mapping players to try and catch up with the overall economy. Even just 1 or 2 of these div cards will kick-start any build or atlas progression you might be looking for.

As a reminder from last week ofc, there are an absolute ton of worthwhile maps to run, both in a shaped as well as an elder strat, as the league mechanic is not map-restrictive and supports every kind of map pretty much equally.

Following that, feel free to do your own research and decide on what map you like best, the maps presented here, are only recommendations and easy to setup maps. They are not necessarily the absolute best, nor the absolute only choice for you in this league.

    SEGMENT 5: STRATEGY & DISCUSSION

Before we can dive into the red-tier blighted map discussion and analysis, a few disclaimers.

Similarly to last week, I'll be referencing a lot of my own personal testing, as well as Grimro's newly released video, which covers his tests of the red T13+ blighted map. His data is extremely worthwhile as it represents a larger sample size to work with and is very well presented.

Additionally, I have received some data from a few viewers as well, thank you for that! It is very useful and VERY much appreciated!

As for the testing methodology and data set used for the following segment, I'll only be referencing tripple-teal oiled T13 maps. The reason for this manifold:

Firstly, T13 blighted maps, and normal blight encounters in t13 maps as well, are the first ones that can drop golden oil, from our current knowledge standpoint, at least. The area level has to be at or above 80 in order to drop golden oil, which correlates with the often-mentioned restrictions on the portal-beast for farrul with the bestiary league mechanic.

As a result, if you're running red-maps in any way, either blighted maps or not, make sure to run them at least at T13, as they seem to be the only ones that can drop the highly sought-after golden oil, thus increasing your potential profit margin substantially.

Secondly, as for the reasons stated in Grimro's video, which you should absolutely check out for exactly that information, Teal oils seem to be the most cost efficient oils that have been tested publicly.

Furthermore, teal oils are also sustainable by simply running the T13 blighted maps themselves, through the 3:1 trade-up of the oils dropped in them.

Resulting in not having to worry about buying oils, once you've reached a critical mass of run maps and oil, similarly leading to an increased efficiency, as you will not be required to spend time on trading inbetween each set of maps you intend to run.

As for their overall profit margin, we'll be covering Grimro's data-set first.

As always, he has presented a very useful spreadsheet, detailing his 15 runs of blighted T13 red-maps.

One last reminder, that if you are interested in HIS findings regarding the blighted maps and more specifically oils, as he also tests 15 similar runs with crimson oil, I absolutely recommend checking out his video, as it is very informative and the video, as well as the previous one for yellow blighted maps, are very well produced.

*PRICES IN BELOW'S ESTIMATES ASSUME PRICES FROM THIS TUESDAY. ALL RECOMMENDATIONS STILL APPLY TODAY, BUT EXACT MARGINS ARE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT.*

Now getting to the actual meat of the content:

The overall profit margins that Grimro recorded show a roughly 116c profit per map over 15 teal-oiled maps.

These prices assume that the 15 maps he bought, were all bought for about 65c each, which is about 25c cheaper than the current prices, and that the 45 teal-oils were bought for a total of 90c, which is a bit more expensive than the 67.5c it would cost at current prices.

Each of the blighted maps takes about 6-7 minutes to run and as a result, you'll be running about 10 of them per hour at best, if you're being efficient.

This means that the overall profit margin for T13 Teal-Oiled Blighted maps, that grimro reported, adjusted to the current prices, is somewhere around 15.5c a minute, or about 930c an hour.

This data, similarly to last week, is similar to my own limited testing as well as the data i've received from viewers, as I've identified a similar amount of profit in my 10 yellow maps as well as the viewers combined 25 maps, only counting maps that have had their investment level be similar to grimros, in order to properly combine the data sets and get a bigger sample size to draw conclusions from and limit the influence of RNG.

That means each recorded map that has been used for this combined data-set was 20% qualitied, as well as alch'ed and rerolled to about 80% quantity.

I am, unfortunately, not 100% aware of Grimro's EXACT setup for each map, but I figured that 20% quality and 80% quant was a decent enough base-line to assume.

In my own and my viewers combined data-set, we've recorded a roughly 14.7c profit a minute or about 882c an hour total profit at current prices.

As a result, if we combine the datasets presented by grimro with these datasets, we'll arrive at a roughly 15.1c per minute profit, with a total profit of 906c an hour, tested over about 50 similarly invested maps.

Following that of course, there has been zero data to suggest that mass-running these maps at a price-point of about 90c, will lose you money, neither in Grimro's data nor in my own nor in my viewers.

The general base-loot level seems to support a substantially higher pricepoint for the T13 red-blighted maps themselves, as they're bound to pay out magnitudes more chaos than those 90-95 you're going to invest per map.

Running these maps however, is only recommended for players that have capital to invest in at least 10-15 maps, as RNG can swing heavily in these type of chest based reward-systems.

While a singular golden oil will swing you heavily towards being profitable in one map, not getting a single Opalescent Oil in 5 will significantly lower yours as well.

As a result, please keep that in mind, before you attempt to run these blighted maps for a profit. Additionally, remember that T13 blighted maps aren't as easy as the yellow maps presented last week and as a result, you HAVE to make sure that you're powerful enough to handle these properly. Failure is not an option if you're investing upwards of 100c into these maps if you're looking to turn a sustainable and constant profit.

Closing out this discussion on blighted maps, which we might continue in future episodes if there's more information that needs to be conveyed, I'll recommend the same thing I recommended last week.

If you are not likely to be able to get at least 10 red-tier blighted maps before you attempt to run them, I'd recommend selling them, as you will not be able to sustain a bad RNG streak with only a 3-4 sample size of maps.

I hope these two last episodes have given you a more in-depth insight into the workings and statistics behind blighted maps. If there is anything you'd want me to test or cover in future episodes, in a similar depth to the blighted map coverage, feel free to leave it in the comments.

SEGMENT 6: RAPIDFIRE TIPS & TRICKS

    Weekly Delve Update:

Since last week, corroded fossils have further dropped in price quite and have now arrived at a 4c pricepoint. Similarly, the bound fossil has also seen a slight price drop from 11c to 10c since last week.

As a result, the Petrified Forest area has lost it's recommended spot on this list. Instead I'll be recommending to continue farming the Frozen Hollow primarily, but secondarily focus on the Magma Fissure area instead of the Petrified Forest.

The Magma Fissure offers a great assortment of fossils, namely: the Pristine, Pristmatic and Enchanted fossils en-masse, which are all either stable or rising in prices.

Serrated fossils currently sell at 17c+, Enchanted Fossils are going for about 10c+ each, Pristine have dipped slightly to about 8c right now and Prismatic Fossils have risen slighty to about 5c each.

As always, remember to save up a few and sell in bulk, as you can easily ask for 50%+ up-price for a well sized stack.

Continously crafting iLvL 83+ abyss jewels is as profitable as always. Aim for T2+ Life or ES together with T2+ flat damage rolls to grant yourself some easy influx of currency. I'm personally using this as a main source of constant income, as they're very easy and fast to roll. They might take a while to sell but if you diligently roll and list them, you'll end up with a decent amount of them at once, which will grant you a very steady income.

This is nothing new of course, as I've already mentioned this in the first-week episode. That said, I just wanted to remind everyone of this currency making method, as I've seen a lot of people question how to make easy currency if they themselves don't have that much. This is probably one the easiest ways and is highly recommended as a result.

Ghastly eye jewels are still the best-selling abyss jewels on the market and are thus the preferred choice for crafting.

My apologies for not including more Rapidfire Tips & Tricks, but I have not been able to do any additional research (as mentioned in the disclaimer in the OP) since the episode aired on youtube and some of the mentioned rapidfire tips in the video aren't quite workable anymore.

And with those last few tips wrapped up, I'll be ending this week's chaos report.

I hope this video was informative and you learned something from it that you can apply to your own game.

Please let me know if I missed anything or you'd have wanted me to talk about anything in specific that I might not have covered.

Feel free to check the links at the top of the post for various ways to support me and the creation of these posts and videos.

And with that... Thanks for reading and keep farming those exalts!

Death's Oath is in a really bad place right now for ES

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:09 PM PDT

Death's Oath was hit pretty hard with nerfs the past few leagues. Losing 250 flat ES on the Occultist nerf, up to 25% ES regen(currently is up to 5% if you take Vile Bastion). It also recently lost 36% Aura AoE. The range of Death Aura was already pitiful before this nerf.

Now with spells getting a huge buff through global gem level mods, Death Aura has been completely left in the dust. Since the aura itself can't gain levels from global modifiers or Empower, and it has very few support gems to scale it.

Death Aura could be buffed to 1000 flat damage and still not compare to other skills. Take Righteous Fire for example, which now has 3 times more base damage than Death Aura at level 21. Not to mention a much bigger radius.

I'd either like to see some flat ES on the chest itself, base damage buff, radius buff or a rework of the skill itself. Possibly way more damage the closer you are, but a bigger radius with a damage drop off. Kind of like Far Shot / Point Blank.

I've tried everything to make this work. Life based is only more defensive at this point if you use Molten Shell and the Divine Flesh keystone, but damage is still very lacking.

Edit: Literally just moving the Death's Oath base to Sacrificial Garb instead of Astral Plate would make it a ton better. That would remove the 180 strength requirement. It would add 217 ES(almost making up for the Occultist nerf), give you 1151 armour and evasion with 220% increased armour/es/ev and 20% quality. It fits more with the Sacrificial Garb theme anyhow. As for the damage, a simple base damage per second increase would do wonders.

    Personal Achievement

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 10:24 AM PDT

So I am a longtime reader. But don't post to often. But I wanted to post my personal achievements this league so far.

A little backstory, I've played strictly league HC since Legacy. I've never done shaper/ elder / or any end game content for that matter. I just play until I die and reroll. I've always been to scared to try any endgame bosses.

This league I decided that I didn't want to lose everything, but I still wanted a challenge. So I rolled Blight SSF.

Started with a Necro because rework yay!

Well I am 140/159 for my atlas.

Two days ago I did my first shaper, deathless and got the Amulet! Can't remember the name. But it was a rush. So last night I decided to spawn the elder and guardians and take a wack at them.

Got them to spawn on red maps and took them all out deathless. Got a shit watchers eye. But still beat them all.

Next goal is Uber Elder, Atziri, and trying to get a Aul.

Sorry for the ramble. Just wanted to tell my personal achievement story so far.
