People always ask for the best starters but which ones do you find FUN? Posted: 20 Oct 2019 11:24 PM PDT I'm a relatively new player clocking around 100 hours in previous leagues playing molten strike and arc totem builds. I want to get back into the game and I've seen plenty of suggested starters but does anyone have any suggestions for something they consider entertaining? I know fun is subjective but I would take something more engaging that is a little less effective over something boring that had crazy fast clears. Does anyone have any personal suggestions for something fun that's a cheaper starter? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Oct 2019 12:01 AM PDT Hi, I have this build right now: https://pastebin.com/WARMW8mF ( If you can't import build, update ypur POB. I use POB fork https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/deon82/localidentitys_path_of_building_v141514_fork/) Build is not minmaxed (I can't afford mirror-tier sword, because of literally 0 currency in my stash). I use Starforge in 1st weapon slot for clearing (with ancestral call+melee splash) and rare elder sword in 2nd slot for singletarget. DPS in POB is "burst" DPS in the beginning of combat, build is very flask-dependant, so if I can't kill boss quickly, then DPS is lowered to ~3 mil Shaper dps. Also build has ~6400 hp, >2000 ES (it seems, POB can't calculate ES gain from spirit offering properly), overleech, >20000 armour without buffs etc. ES is not "true" effective HP, it is from Corrupted Soul keystone (50% of Non-Chaos Damage taken bypasses Energy Shield). So ES has 50% effectiveness vs oneshot hits and normal effectiveness vs other hits. Can someone help me to improve it? I welcome any suggestions - ascendancy changes, tree changes, gems, gear etc. For example, I'm not sure about using Ruthless. It is good, but it is too unreliable with Multistrike. Pestilent Strike for map clear and single target Posted: 20 Oct 2019 07:31 PM PDT Since poe.ninja isn't showing many builds for Pestilent Strike, I thought I'd check here to see what strategies anyone's used for taking it to end game, particularly around scaling its single-target damage for bossing. I'm aware most people swap to Viper Strike, but I want to try Pestilent Strike single-target for fun. After a quick test in PoB, I got Assassin single-target to ~8mil, but I didn't have boss / shaper enabled. That number might drop a bit more again to improve survivability, since level 90 life was ~4k... but I do enjoy playing glass cannons, so we'll see :P [link] [comments] |
What is the tankiest poison build right now? Posted: 20 Oct 2019 10:09 PM PDT I have never played as a poison character, and I don't know where to start. I am used to playing Jugg, Chieftain and Berserker RF as my tankiest builds and I wanted to ask if there is any build that uses poison with being able to take hits. No Evasion or Overleech mechanics, I am so bad playing around them. [link] [comments] |
Would like some help with how to best quickly improve this minion build Posted: 20 Oct 2019 06:49 PM PDT Per the name, this was initially a build to see if SRS-Infernal Legion-Minion Instability would be effective as well as fun, but when it turned out that my zombies were more effective in a 3-link than SRS in a 5-link I decided to change gears. It's been doing very well for me so far, as I've reached Uber Elder (died on last portal), something I haven't managed before on build guides let alone a build I threw together myself. However, I know full well it's not even close to full potential, so I'd like some assistance on picking out the best options to shore it up on a relatively tight budget. Main Problem: the build is somewhat squishy - 3k life 3.3k energy shield seems on the low side based on builds I've seen before. That said, most of what kills me seems to be killing me in less than a second, so I'm not sure if I can reasonably get beyond whatever the relevant threshold for ehp is - if the answer is just to boost the dps so I can kill stuff before I fail to dip and dodge, that's fine too. Budget: according to Exilence, I am worth about 5900c. Pretty sure that's more than the combined worth of any of my previous leagues, but A) I know full well that's still piddly numbers for the true top tier stuff and B) I think a more reasonable number based on what I'd be willing to sit there and liquidate is probably about 2000-3000c. And here are my thoughts on what I've got going on. Helmet: Probably can't replace this with something worth the cost differential. Wanted a +3 minion gems one, found this one that had spectre damage and a decent life roll, likely spent more than I should have on it. Gloves: I like the idea of chaos damage zombies, didn't really want to spend what people were asking for a 4W copy. Willing to give these up if the replacement is significantly better in terms of damage/survivability. Boots: Pretty sure these aren't worth the slot just for the abyss socket, but not sure if i can get more out of a good pair of boots or a great abyss jewel. All the jewels I'm wearing are self-crafted, meaning I took the first result that sounded halfway decent and forgot about them. Belt: Haven't checked prices on this, but I'm pretty happy with this one. The jewel probably needs some work, though. Wands: As with the jewels, these were both self-crafted until I managed something with +1 minion gems, then took whatever came afterwards. I've got some high ilvl bases to try crafting another, or could just buy a better one if it's not too expensive. Armor: Got it as a lucky drop early on, decided to take a chance on the altar after confirming I could buy another if it poofed. Not great result, but not terrible either. I checked prices and I'm definitely not going to be able to buy one with good rolls, so I think this is what I'm stuck with for now. I don't want to lose the pseudo-CI, and am not certain that swapping to a real CI build would be the best thing right now, but I'm open to suggestions. Rings and amulet: These are pretty much all just filling in res and hp/es. I haven't touched these since probably level 70. I need the extra dex to wear the boots, but if the boots go then I can toss the dex as well of course. I've been toying with replacing one ring with a hungry loop tuned for the carrion golem (in progress). Passive Tree: I think I've done a good job of trimming loose ends and moving them better places, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's one or more spots that are not as helpful as I think, or if my pathing isn't too efficient. I've got enough regrets to redo the entire tree if need be, though I doubt that would be necessary. The Might of the Meek jewel is just small enough to not hit Foresight, Aligned Spirits, and Constitution, in case it's not clear from the browser display. Skills: Most of my damage is coming from either my zombies or my spectres (slave drivers), not sure which just by looking. I was going to move the zombies to the armor to eventually make them a 6-link, but after getting the helm I think they're served best up there. Beginning to wonder if the spectres should be in the chest and the SRS in the gloves. Skitterbots, Discipline, and Enfeeble seem to be working well for me, but I'm wondering if Temporal Chains would be a better curse option. CoDT Steelskin has been pretty good, and same with the triggered Flesh Offering that's basically up forever as long as there are corpses handy. Bit of a ramble I guess, but hopefully that's enough information to see what the intention was and help steer me somewhere better. Happy to answer any questions, though I'm heading to bed now so it'll be a bit. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Oct 2019 11:27 AM PDT Any suggestions on a Storm Call build? Possibly using Eternity Shroud? How would I go about for a build like that? Any suggestions/references much appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Need some ideas for an endgame boss killer/clear build Posted: 20 Oct 2019 09:40 AM PDT Hello everyone, after a few weeks in the league, I'm now looking for a build to enjoy "late game" and finish to clear everything I'm missing. I'm looking for a build on low-medium budget able to clear every boss in the game, while also be able to clear map at decent speed. So far I played : - Tornado shot deadeye - didn't really like bow build, and not that great single target - Soulrend explosion occultist - fun for clearing blight, but slow and mediocre single target dps - Volatile dead poet's pen necro - made my pc crash, and not that great single target where I couldn't stack - Cyclone cwchanneling BV elementalist - very good clearing, and again very low single target. Also too short range vs blight. So now I'm looking for a build that is not a summoner, totem, or this kind of "drop and run" build. Also I don't really like to stop every second to clear. I have a 20ex budget, and 2 inspired learnings that I would like to use because how good they are for clearing. My ideas was : - Cyclone slayer, but I'm afraid clearing won't be that great (no offscreen explosions or shit) - Earthquake slayer/jugg (same than cyclone) - Winter orb assassin (but idk about single target dps, and I don't have budget for eternity shroud build) - Kinetic blast deadeye or assassin (but kinda weird to play, and again don't know about single target) - Poison prolif pathfinder (no idea on the setup, can't find any build to scale both range and damage) [link] [comments] |
