I hope they remove/redo the flask mechanic in 4.0

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 01:50 PM PDT

This may be an unpopular opinion but my fingers just cant take it any more. With every new build I try I find myself leaning more towards builds that dont need flasks because I feel physically pained by all the flask presses at a certain point. My mouse hand is doing just fine and I'm still engaged in the game and the character, but at this point I pretty much only press flasks on the strongboxes, legions when they unfreeze, and bosses.

The flask mechanic was innovative when I first started back in beta but I really dont like it any more. It feels like "work" to have to keep them up at all times, not skill, and certainly not fun.

    Am I wrong?

I don't care about new League Mechanics, I care about Build Variety

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:12 AM PDT

I like the rotating league system PoE has, it gives us the feeling of a fresh start every 3 months while also introducing something new and exciting. Over the span of the last few leagues though I have discovered what my real reason was for playing this game for so long, trying all kinds of different builds and gathering/crafting gear for them. New league mechanics tend to be buggy for the first 2 weeks until GGG irons out the kinks. Even after the mechanics are fixed it mostly comes down to how much they help with map sustain/currency gain and how fast they are to complete, if every build can do them or they are so annoying you just want them gone (shoutouts to research lab locking). The league mechanic is like the side dish for me, nice to have and can certainly complement a good meal but even a good side dish won't fix the underlying problem of bad build diversity.

I still enjoy playing all kinds of whacky stuff throughout the league but with the new "meta" of rotating OP builds it certainly doesn't feel good anymore. Sure you are having fun with your offmeta build but you just get the feel of sitting in your soapbox car, the one you build with blood sweat and tears when the summoner rolls up in his 10$ rolls royce and looks at you funny. It was always this way, some skills were stronger/cheaper than others but it has never been this bad. In the past if a build was considered broken they were really good at a certain thing, but they didn't do EVERYTHING better than the skill of choice. I can't find a single thing that cyclone was worse at than any other skill I experimented with in Legion, same thing goes for summoners in Blight.

GGG is giving us the perfect skill every league now and most people enjoy that because progress and achievements are important for them and these builds make it easy to get atlas completion or kill uber elder on a tabula.

Please GGG, stop it with the overbuffing and overnerfing every league. So many skill out there need some love, and not just some number tweaking either but complete mechanical reworks. I want specialist builds again, specific skills for bossing and others for clearing, some builds for more QoL and others for farming only one specific map.

The amount of builds was always the selling point of PoE in my eyes. When I first started playing I asked my friend who got me into the game "what is the best build in this game?" and he answered "There is no best build for everything". That was 3 years ago and it sadly doesn't hold true anymore.

GGG should change the name of immortal call gem to something more close to its current mechanical. it used to make you invulnerable to physical damage.

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 12:16 AM PDT

just think as a new player, you look at a skill which title says literallly "immortal" but when you read the description "oh surprise, you are not immortal in any f* way" just a little harder.

    Leap slam is bugged

    Posted: 21 Oct 2019 11:22 AM PDT

Just died because i got stuck inside an object after leap slamming next to it. Usually this happens next to walls/corners. You need to leap slam into the opposite direction to get out again. Unfortunately this can take way too long in certain situations. I hope GGG is aware of this issue because it is incredibly frustrating to lose 10% experience because of stuff like this...

My Path of Exile".exe" and how to set it up (QoL)

I started PoE countless of times and long ago I created a batch file that improved my experience a lot and here's a mini tutorial on how to do it:

Find all paths to the programs you want to start and paste it into a new text file and add "start " at the beginning.e.g. Path of Exile (Steam Version), Mercury Trade, Trade Macro and Path of Building

    start C:\"Program Files (x86)"\Steam\steamapps\common\"Path of Exile"\PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe start C:"Program Files (x86)"\Steam\steamapps\common"Path of Exile"\MercuryTrade.jar start C:"Program Files (x86)"\TradeMacro\Run_TradeMacro.ahk start C:"Program Files (x86)""Path of Building""Path of Building.exe"

If a file/program includes spaces add apasthropes as shown above.
Paths may vary depending on where you have saved files and if you use Steam or Standalone.

Press `Ctrl + Shift + s` and replace the `.txt` with `.bat` so it will run when you start it.

(Optional) Create a shortcut and rename it to "Path of Exile".(Optional) Go to Properties and change the symbol by choosing the `.exe` file which has the icon.

That's how the final result should look like

I hope it helps a few of you and if you have an idea how to improve this little thing further: Add it in the comments!

Rather than make boss fights easier, or less time consuming, give me a reason to do them.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 09:04 PM PDT

Designing end game fights isn't easy, and no one will tell you it is (that you should listen to, at least). There are a number of boss fights in this game that I'd love to see leveraged with rewards. They're all boss fights we hate because they take too long, and offer nothing in return.

Bring back the magic of the mechanic, and make it worth an exile's while. Basilica, Desert Spring, REEF? Why would I ever do those bosses? Give me a reason to do them, I'd love it.
