Itemize the Synthesis Maps as 4 keys Posted: 22 Oct 2019 11:20 AM PDT The five Synthesis boss maps were one of the things I was looking forward to trying the most this league, having missed out on the content during Synthesis league, but they are really rare in their current implementation and purely RNG to spawn in a frustrating way. Without getting into whether more of Synthesis could be implemented or not, I don't think Zana is the best place to put these unique maps right now. I don't mind the current rarity, but I do wish they were gated in an itemized way with a set of keys/fragments that you could trade for. Altered/Augmented/Twisted/Rewritten as four different "memory" items, I don't care where or how they drop. Put one into map device and it rolls that memory with random mods. All four keys in map device together spawn Cortex. Assuming a key drops about as often as Zana has one as an option, and the demand for Synthesis uniques, I'd expect them to be pretty expensive. If you want to run it, exciting drop! If you want to sell, exciting drop! As someone who just wants to play the content and can't get it to spawn, I'd pay quite a bit for those keys rather than troll a chat channel for people selling them and buy A Master Needs Help Zana prophecies. Thoughts? [link] [comments]

Could POE do with a slow down in game play pace? Posted: 22 Oct 2019 05:50 AM PDT Just a simple post to gauge the overall feeling on the current break finger speeds of POE at the moment. Has GGG indicated the direction they are taking the game in the 4.0 patch? If so please share. [link] [comments]

What is your favorite map and why? Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:50 PM PDT My favorite map is Peninsula because it taught me what my character was capable of. I started playing Path of Exile in Bloodlines, so most of my learning gameplay was done via trips to standard. My skill of choice was cyclone, and at that point, the links were generally blood magic with LGOH. (I got that char to lvl 85 before league end, then ripped to the flameblast exile in perma league). So, I'm spinning through a map and there is Zana, who offers me a Peninsula map. It was a +1 and not too scary, so I took it. The mission was to complete a task in a time limit, where killing monsters increased that limit. I remember realizing that the only way I would be successful was by killing the monsters as fast as I could, a major change from the defensive style that I had been using. Button-pressing intensified, things were happening, monsters everywhere, flask charges, I spun, and I won. I can't explain exactly how that effected my playstyle in the long run, but it's as if that map taught me how to play this game. Go fast and kill things. To this day, running a Peninsula reminds me of that time, and I enjoy unlocking it every league. Do you have a favorite map? [link] [comments]

Chieftain should have "Cannot take reflected Fire Damage" Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:47 PM PDT Elementalist which MOSTLY focuses on Elemental damage has "Cannot take reflected Elemental damage". Slayer which MOSTLY focuses on Physical has "Cannot take reflected physical damage". Assassin which focuses on Critical Strikes has "Damage from your critical strikes cannot be reflected". Seems kinda suiting for chieftain to have a fire one [link] [comments]
Blast Rain, and what I'd like to see changed in 3.9 Posted: 22 Oct 2019 03:06 PM PDT Hi all, I've been playing blast rain off an on for a few leagues now and I wanted to share some of my opinions and what I'm hoping we get in 3.9. Since bows/bow skills were mentioned to be in the patch, this is more of a "I hope they thought of this" instead of a "please do this GGG". I believe there are 2 main issues with BR that keep it restricted to a C/D tier skill. The first, is the lack of the projectile tag and the second is the lack of interaction with additional arrows. The closest thing to compare BR to is Rain of Arrows. Both have very similar playstyles but RoA has 2 advantages, a vaal skill and the projectile tag. Both help scale the gem and offer alternative ways of playing the skill. I'd like to see the addition of the "projectile" tag, mostly to allow builds to use "iron grip" since this would expand build diversity and let maraurders/duelists use this skill. As far as interaction with additional arrows, I'd personally like to see an additional blast rain explosion per arrow fired. It's just a small thing, but one that I think would have a positive impact on the skill. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments]

Guardians difficulty and level / gear requirement? Posted: 22 Oct 2019 09:59 AM PDT So this season is the first time I've ventured into Red tier maps. After playing a few classes and destroying everything up to and included T15 maps (i know this isn't a exactly a great achievement but it's the best I've done so far, so not bragging so setting a backstory) i decided to try beat the guardians. (Both with and without nasty map mods, although i'm not sure if map mods apply to guardians) Firstly i tried on my level 90 necromancer and failed terribly and i just got 1 shot every time The minotaur guardian looked at me. Next was my Jugg which even with 6khp plus vaal molten shell still was unable to get enough defences to take the Minotaur down. I then looked for the tankiest build i could find which seemed to be a 10k es , 85% (+fortify) physical reduction (plus vaal molten shell which is something stupid like 15k) , 80 / 75 / 76 elemental res Guardian Summoner. I was sure that i wasn't going to get 1 shot this time. with effectively as much defences as i (think i) could get i headed off to try slay the beast yet one more time. After a few attempts i did actually manage to get him down, however even with such high defences i was still getting 1 shot and my minions were getting ripped apart (my health nor theirs ever drops below 75% while mapping even with the worst of map mods) So basically i was wondering if there was anything you guys think i may be missing? Do i just suck and is there "1 shot mechanics" that are just a case of "don't stand in the bad"? Are my defences actually really bad when i think they're good? (if so how can i improve them) Or really just any other tips you may have for defeating higher tier content. If you would like to have a quick look at my character here's the profile https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Nugsterx The character is Nugster_Guardian_Summoner . Also, i know the Weapon is terrible but upgrades that have minions life / minion cast speed are multiple exalts and i just don't have that to blow. I could also Qual some gems but i really don't see that making groundbreaking difference. If you made it this far then thank you for reading and if you have any tips i would love to hear them and it would be much appreciated, Thanks. [link] [comments]
Best build for my first SSF run? Posted: 22 Oct 2019 10:31 AM PDT I want to do my first ssf run since i have a feeling it will overall make me better at the game, and ill learn a lot of stuff that i wouldnt normally learn otherwise. Is there a projectile skill that uses RRRGGB as colors? Posted: 22 Oct 2019 08:29 AM PDT I found a neat +1 gems +2 projectile gems Skin of the Loyal (socket colors cannot be changed), but the colors don't look amazing. Is there a skill out there that could use this thing? [link] [comments]
Can the Hideout Music Player have the tracks from Whakawairua Tuahu added please? Posted: 22 Oct 2019 12:06 PM PDT Whakawairua certainly isn't a favourite map for most people but the music is actually rather good. The two tracks by Adam Willis from the Ascendancy album: Whakawairua Tuahu and Tormented Temptress Theme happen to be missing from the Hideout music options. [link] [comments]
A passive/keystone that gives 50% or more Reduced Ailment Duration on you would be nice Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:13 PM PDT And of course give it a downside... Something like 50% less regeneration. That way combined with Wicked Ward, you have 100% less regeneration. I'd rather have no regeneration at all than deal with burning, bleeding and poison that lingers on and on and makes Wicked Ward absolutely useless. Yes, I know flasks exist. But I'd also prefer 2 or 3 flasks tops - but that is a whole different argument in another thread currently. [link] [comments]
New player wishing to talk PoE Posted: 22 Oct 2019 08:02 AM PDT I started in Betrayal and always wanted to learn the game on my own but I,ve hit a wall. I'm trying to not follow builds blindly and prefer to understand the logic behind things. I know I need to install path of building, and already have the loot filter. But I see ppl using a special key to check prices and plenty other stuff I am clueless about. I'm currently struggling with a caustic arrow build and would like to chat and ask questions to more experienced players. Some told me to join a guild, but I wouldn't know where to start with that.
