| Posted: 21 Oct 2019 09:25 AM PDT I know it is WAY too early to start build planning for 3.9, but I'm build planning for 3.9 in a very generic way. I always play in a party because I play with my kids (8 & 10 years old). We started playing in Incursion and have played multiple builds every league since. We sometimes follow the meta and sometimes we just do our own thing, but this league we ALL followed the meta (poison assassin, mass minion necro, and pyroclastic mines were our starters) and got burned out faster than we ever have before. We walked through everything, beat Shaper and then quit. The frustration was mostly how insanely powerful the necro was (my 8 year old) but also there was absolutely zero synergy between the builds. I've always wanted to actually play a more legit party but the sheer amount of damage available seems like it makes it kind of pointless...3 people 1 shoting everything two screens wide seems more efficient than 1 person 1 shoting everything and two people keeping him alive and boosting his damage. That having been said though, I HATE trading even though I have always had really good trade interactions and have never been scammed. Its just that while all three of us play and they are pretty decent mechanics wise, they don't trade. Every so often my 10 year old will buy something, but he doesn't sell anything and probably buys 3-5 items a league tops. It means I am gearing three people and it gets really complicated balancing out resists etc. It seems like it would be much easier to just run a mana guardian which fixes everyone's resists, provides tons of ES, and some other defenses while either the other two run damage that would be helped by the auras or 1 damage and one bane based cursebot. Thoughts? I posted this in builds and not the main forum because I plan to update the thread with build ideas if others agree that my line of thought is worth following. I have a CI 7 curse Bane occultist that will work with a mana guardian INCREDIBLY well already and a generic mana guardian build, the next step would be refining a frost blades or tornado shot character to be CI...there are very few recent build guides to start from out there and it there aren't any great witch ascendencies to work with for those skills since Elementalist got destroyed. I would probably either go the HOWA route on a berserker which would be almost unkillable but doesn't really benefit from all the flat damage as much or maybe an inquisitor for the pen. Obviously is patch notes come out for 3.9 and they destroy the mana guardian concept and buff Pathfinder to current Necro levels then this all goes away, but as a thought experiment in a league where everyone seems bored already I thought it would be a good off season idea. The only issue is I have no idea what skills to use while levelling and what to link them with. | Posted: 21 Oct 2019 06:56 PM PDT I'm about to give up on my PP VD Necro. Does anyone have a Necro corpse consumption build that clears really fast and smooth? I'm finding the ramping on mine is making the build feel pretty clunky. If I stand still for a few seconds then I can ramp up to 15+ attacks per second, enough to worry about missing triggers. But the first second or two of attacking feels way too slow. At a medium ramp, I already have dozens of VD balls out, and I can't see anything. But it still doesn't feel like they clear packs all that quickly. [link] [comments]  |
